The main way to describe this story is magical. It’s another thrilling adventure of Jane and her boys that will consume and swallow you whole. It’ll have you laughing, crying, face-palming, and questioning your reality. ‘Jane’s Team’ is truly something you’ve never read before and I recommend it to the strong-hearted and those who love a magical and unusual twist to society’s standards.

I really freaking loved this book. It is long which I think is great, it’s got drama and it’s got lots of steamy romance. Jane is a high school girl who grew up in a house between lots of boys. To one side is David. To her he is and always has been Mr. Perfect and her best friend. They both have loved each other for forever. Her father died in an accident when she’s five and then her mom later marries David’s dad. So when David becomes her stepbrother they have to love each in secret from everyone and each other. To the other side lives Ryder. He is the ultimate bad boy and her feelings for him are dislike because he butts heads with David in everything. Luc is Ryder’s older brother who Jane can’t really figure out but he has grows a spot in her heart. Tercero is a quadruplet with Ryder (Archer and Savas are the other quadruplets) who is Ryder’s closest look a like. When she finally sees him he brings her calm and understanding that she needs so bad. It all starts when she accepts to tutor Ryder so he can get his grades up and can get his spot back on the football team from David. Jane starts to see a new side to Ryder and they develop a connection. She learns he has a sweet side just for her and that he has loved her greatly for forever. He has saved all of his firsts for her and quickly becomes her rock and basically her everything. David gets a wake up call from Ryder and Jane’s connection. He starts to actually fight for their love and more. Luc and Tercero step in to help her with David and Ryder but to also earn their spots in her heart. Jane battles with finding herself, her courage, gaining friends, keeping all of her harem of guys and love. They struggle with her mom and David’s dad accepting their relationship. Then there is some jerk, Dylan, determined to break her all out of spite for Ryder and David. All four guys are there for her to hold her and help her through their journey.
Ryder was and is my favorite the whole time. I rooted for her to end up with just him. David just wasn’t enough for her to me. Luc and Tercero felt more like background support for her. Even though Tercero got in on the sexy times. This book gives you all kinds of feelings. Jane seemed a bit immature, fueled on too many hormones and selfish sometimes but I did like her. She’s a very likable character. The ending. Oh my goodness. It left me mind blown, kinda confused and needing some answers or explaining. It was still a good ending because it was still a happily ever after. I would definitely read this book again and again.

Rating:
Very different than any reverse harem I have ever read!
I’m a bit conflicted about this book. At this point I’m not quite sure what to write so I guess I will break this up into sections and see if that works out for me. First of all, the author states in the title and the blurb that this is a Bizzaro Universe/Alternate reality to her Gods and Monsters Trilogy, which I have not read. So I am not exactly sure how much the relationships in this book are driven by the relationships in those books. I read this as it’s own stand-alone which the blurb also stated it was.
Background Plot/Summary and Characters
The main character in this book is Jane Mortaime who moved into a new neighborhood when she was five years old. She was a Daddy’s girl and she liked to watch the neighborhood boys play football. There was David Leodegrance, who was her neighbor on one side, who she thought was the “bestest” ever. But she also like to watch some of the neighbors on the other. The Godson’s had a house full of boys, but her Father noticed that she liked to watch Ryder the most, as well as his twin Tercero and older brother Luc.
Jane’s father died while she was still very young and she soon became best friends with David. David and Ryder became the fiercest of rivals and by freshman year were fighting for the same position on the football team. Jane and David were falling in Love and she took up David’s side in the rivalry especially when Ryder was able to take away David’s spot on the team that he had played the last few years.
David was devastated and to make it worse, David’s Dad, whom Jane also thought of as a second father, told her that he was marrying her mother and that David would become her stepbrother. He had no idea that Jane and David had been falling in love with each other over the past few years and they were heartbroken.
Fast forward three years later to senior year and Jane is still madly in love with David. David has been dating some football cheerleaders especially one specific girl that used to torment Jane. Jane is pretty certain David has been intimate with this girl. She is hurt that he is able to get over her when she is not able to get over him.
Jane ends up having to tutor Ryder and finds out that Ryder isn’t the evil bad boy she has always thought him to be. It seems Ryder has always held a torch for her and unlike David, he has waited for her to be ready for him. However after David sees that Ryder is interested, he finally comes clean about his love and things start to get complicated.
What I Liked
The stepbrother angle in this book was a really good one. In most cases where the two main characters are step siblings, there is way too much angst about it when the characters don’t even meet until they are nearly adults and they are only step siblings for a short time. In this case, Jane and David have known each other since they were kids and have slowly been falling in love from the ages of 5-14. However, fact that they are step siblings from the time that they are 14-17 and have bedrooms separated by only a bathroom makes being together extremely angst worthy. Especially since the parents don’t know about their love.
I loved the humor in this book. Ryder especially was extremely funny and often said the most hilarious things. Jane’s stepdad became furious and banned her from seeing him and after that, the way Ryder would talk to him was just classic. He would call him old man, and tease him in the worst ways. Just the things that would come out of his mouth. He would be one of those people that is just fun to be around Because you would be laughing all the time.
What I Didn’t Like
All reverse harem romances are different. This one was really different in that Jane didn’t feel the same about each of the guys. I just can’t see how that would work. I can see how you can love more than one person and how you can even love them differently. But they kept saying that Ryder was her number one and he basically made the rules. David was definitely number two. It seems like Tercero was number three and Luc was last.
This wasn’t just some sort of power order in the relationship, this also seemed to be in her affections as well. So I guess I just didn’t get it. Plus who could continue to love someone that loved someone else more? I mean that would cause a bunch of feelings of animosity, pain and resentment. I would think anyway. So that was my biggest complaint. I hope this isn’t considered a spoiler. It might not even be true, but it was the feeling I got from the book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Being on Jane’s team isnt for the faint of heart. If you’re a prude or cant stand steaming hot manboys then wall away.
This is a love story, a story of a girl who becomes a woman, who follows her heart, not societies standards of what a ‘normal’ relationship is. It’s a story of a group of young adults becoming adults and revelling in the safety of each other.
Loved this book, as i love all that this amazing lovely ladies brain puts out.
If you love something different, that will make you want your own harem, then grab this book!!
This another great book by this author. The author definitely has great writing style . The characters are well developed and engaging with plenty of chemistry between them. The storyline flowed smoothly.

I love a good reverse harem book and this one was no different. This book is pretty much told from Janes POV, and she if falling in love with 4 guys. Ryder, David, Tercero and Luc. David is her stepbrother, but she was falling for him before their parents got married. Ryder just happens to be David’s enemy but Jane has always had a crush on him. Tercero and Luc are Ryder’s brothers. Tercero is quiet and Luc is older than the rest and is more mature than the others. Some of the chapters are told by David and Ryder. The chemistry Jane and the 4 guys is off the charts hot. It’s a good read and book if reverse harem is your jam.

I enjoyed this story. it was a bit different for me but this new author wrote a very complex yet endearing story. I like that Jane had a mixture of boys supplying a lot of steamy saucy smut but with sass! I like that each boy brought her something that she needed. It was a good story. I will be looking for more from this author.

Jane’s team by Janie Marie
What would you do if you were in love with your stepbrother/best friend. And what if you also get feelings for your neighbour who is said stepbrother’s enemy and who you have to tutor.
The situation Jane finds herself in is hard enough, throw in her neighbour’s 2 brothers and it’s one big nightmare.
Jane has to find a way to choose between her 4 boys while she’s being pulled in all directions and has to deal with her parents and rivals all on top of regular life, how will she ever survive this…
This is a book about self discovery, and figuring out how to stand up for what you want and believe in. While sprinkling in a good dose of steam for us little hoe’s!
Jane, just like Janie does best, is a very strong character for me. While she has a lot of her moments, moments where she loses faith, moments where she doesn’t believe anymore in herself or her boys, she keeps overcoming everything thrown at her and rising above all of it like the queen she is.
Jane personifies, to me, everythinG I ever needed to hear when I was her age, everything I still need to hear sometimes as the adult I pretend to be now. And I think that’s why I identify with her so much. And of course with the steaminess and hot guys thrown in the mix, what’s not to love!
Highly recommend a read! And as opposed to all Janie’s other books, absolutely can be read as a stand-alone. There are little easter eggs and an epilogue that you will only fully understand if you’ve read the Gods & Monsters series, but if you haven’t, no worries, it’s still very very enjoyable!
Slight warnings;
Recommended to 18+
There is sex between 17/18 year olds, just keep that in mind
Boy oh boy, where do I begin with this book… Not only did Janie Marie create an amazing world that I would join in a heartbeat if possible, but she then went and broke the norms by creating a REVERSE harem story with the essence of those same beloved characters from the G&M world, and made me fall inlove with them and her writing all over again.
She can make you laugh, smile, cry, and relate to her stories on so many different levels, while still finding a classy way to show that loving one than 1 man is okay and that harems aren’t just for men – and I think that’s what all great authors should be able to do.

What a book. I didn’t mind the quarantine while reading this book. It was my first book by this author but I loved it and will definetely be reading more of her.

I haven’t read this author before. I really enjoyed the relationships that Jane has with each of the four h’s. Very different with each and she is the common denominator holding them all together. Lots of drama and some heartbreaking moments. A bit angsty, but not overly so. Super steamy times!
This book was such an unexpectedly deep and refreshingly beautiful love story. It had everything I could have possibly wanted. There was a back story that was filled with rich emotional history. There was a feeling both of love lost, lost found, love fought for, and love won. I very rarely say this, but this title like a few rare others is one that I wish I could close and open again and have it be like a was reading for the first time. It’s that rare book that you want to just have that amazing feeling of first consuming. It’s just that wonderful.
Jane had loved four of the boys since she was five. She could not choose between them, so in the end she became a girlfriend to all of them. Each of the boys brought something different for her.

I cried, I laughed and I swooned.
The fmc in this is so screwed up but the way her guys speak of her and hold her above all others is awe inspiring.
I didn’t want to put it down.
This had to be one of the most amazing books to lose yourself in. It has kept my mind off my pregnancy and it made me fall more in love with the characters. Everything was so well written that I didnt want to put it down. This book definitely made my days better when they were terrible and it definitely made me more emotional than some of the others. I would definitely recommend other people to read this book even if the second epilogue wouldn’t make any sense to them. I definitely fell in love with this book even with some the cringeworthy scenes in it.
Unique is the first word for this stand alone of Jane’s story. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, however it is beautifully written and each character has been given their showtime. The fact that it’s a female reverse harem novel well that’s just an added bonus. On a serious note, Janie Marie’s ability to continue to tell Jane’s story without losing any part of her, and delivering depth is no small feat. So enjoy this one, it’s definitely the most lighthearted of them all.
I must say every book that Janie puts out astounds me. The book has every element that would anyone laugh or cry. The writing itself is fantastic and seeing Janie grow as a writer from Gods & Monsters #1 proves how much she has improved in her storytelling. Overall I give this book 5/5 stars because the characters, the plot, the writing, and the world Janie has built will take your breathe every time. The characters are amazing and they just entrap you to love them more with every book. The depth and the way Janie builds the worlds is truly magical and I have not felt this passionate about a book or series in a long time. It’s a refreshing read and steamy for some spice.
I’v been reading Janie’s work for a few year now and have quickly fallen in love with the Gods & Monsters universe, her boy’s- men and Jane. Jane’s Team, can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the trilogy first so you can understand her love for them all and the second epilogue.
The story has a coming of age vibe, and deals with young love. Jane, our main character, is relatable to teens and young adult readers, as she fights for what she wants and believes in; being with her four men she loves, dealing with judgmental parents and society.
4.5 stars for Jane’s Team by Janie Marie. This is book one in the Bizarro Universe series. This is dark, step brother, reverse harem. This is a stand alone but some references are made to the Gods and Monsters trilogy. I could not put this book down. Jane and the guys pull you in. Every page was greater than the last.I just could not wait for what is to come next. There was steam, oh let me tell you so much steam, drama, and romance. Jane’s story gave each of the guys time and a chance. I only wish there was more to this story.
I read many different reviews on this book, and I’m not going to lie, I’m not really a fan of books like this (Janie completely converted me, though!). However, I took a chance and read it, and I am so, so glad that I did! I finished this book in less than 12 hours, and I could barely put it down when I needed to work.
I don’t want to give any of the book away, but I absolutely loved that each guy had a purpose for Jane. She slowly learned to love and trust herself. She grew into a confident young woman. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions to experience what she felt and what she was going through.
This book was a masterpiece, and will definitely be purchasing the hard copy soon.
