After an exhausting and dangerous journey from my home in Brazil to Atlanta, my sisters and I join the exodus of refugees emigrating to Ximera. Though my sisters both find mates, mine is unwilling. I try not to take offense, knowing my little family will be safe — even my brother, though he will find no mate.We are stolen from under the noses of those who sought to protect us. My jaguar and I … jaguar and I take… offense. Once those who took my sisters and me are destroyed, I meet someone who will change my life forever — and I’m not talking about a mate. A young woman makes me an offer I will not refuse. It’s the one chance I have of finding my family. It’s a bonus that I get to tweak my unwilling mate’s tail at the same time.
But my mate is going to catch up with me soon. I can’t escape him forever, and I’m not sure I want to. I just need to keep him at bay long enough to find my sisters.

I’ve been waiting for Soledad’s story since I read the first book, and it’s better than I had hoped for. It was so marvelous. Soledad is another awesome heroine from Raisa Greywood, and I love her.
Markon is a bit of an ash-hole. Or maybe more than a bit through a lot of it, and he deserves what happens to him. He was smug and cocky, and needed a comeuppance, and he got one. However, for all that he was an ash-hole, he was also honorable, at least in his own sense of honor, and loyal. He will follow Soledad anywhere she leads him. He will probably yell, scream, and rage, and may call her a name or two while it’s happening and probably threaten to take his belt to her, but they will both love the whole thing.
Soledad is strong, resourceful, clever, and maybe just a little bit crazy. Or maybe just a lot crazy. But, she knows what she’s going to do, and she’s going to find her sisters, no matter who she has to bite, maim, or kill to do it. And frankly, that’s a really good thing, but her list is very, very, very long, and she’s looking forward to checking off the names.
Renata is still my favorite of the heroines so far, but that’s not saying I don’t like Daiyu or Soledad, because I so do. I think the three of them together are going to rule not just Ximera, but the entire galaxy.
Shifter’s Mate, Book 5. The jaguar pirate baits the alien commander—will either survive?
SPOILER ALERT: This series definitely needs to be read in order. If you haven’t read the prior books in this series, this review may contain spoilers.
How did I end up here? I remember where it began. Only my family mattered then. We had to survive. Zeusef was so sick. But then they stole my sisters and me in front of everyone. Why? And how had I escaped? This was beyond bizarre. But does it even matter? I have to find my family! And since when did that make me an outlaw hunted by the entire known universe? Then, seriously? I have a fated mate I’ve never met? By all the gods that exist! How did any of this happen? But Soledad Martinez bows to no one. I’m not about to start now. Let Markon and his Ximeran masters posture and make their demands! Mate? Hah! I’ll show them! Good thing they think I’m dead! Only…can I do this alone? I’ve already done so much. But where are my sisters? Do I need Markon and the Ximerans after all? By all the stars! Is it already too late? There’s only one way to find out, and I’m NOT going to like it!
Soledad’s appeared before but she’s always been a mystery. Pirate, warrior, woman of mystery, a jaguar shifter of incredible power and unknown origin. Now we get her story, and it’s a doozy! I love this woman! She’s strong, fierce, independent, and not about to sit back and let anyone, especially Markon and his “Ximeran masters” tell her what to do. But I adore Markon too. He’s also no stranger but we’ve never really known much about him either. He’s chased Soledad across the known universe at the behest of the Ximeran First Councilor. It certainly wasn’t by choice. Then what? She’s his mate? Not if he has anything to say about it! And she’s dead? So he can stop hunting her, right? Wrong! This story’s riveting because both Markon and Soledad are so deeply in denial about their mate status. Each wants to outwit and outdo the other. They butt heads throughout the entire book. That Soledad’s a highly prized and wanted shifter makes nothing easy. Will they ever stop baiting and fighting each other? You’ll have to read the book to find out. I have to say Raisa Greywood’s shifters are amazing! This isn’t a simple sci-fi or shifter story. It’s an intricately woven maze of complex characters and twists and turns where nothing’s as it seems. And the ending comes out of nowhere. It took me by complete surprise. Ms. Greywood keeps raising the bar with every new book in this series, and she’s done it again! Thank you, Ms. Greywood! You keep giving me hours of pure pleasure. I couldn’t recommend this book more!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you.
