A Sinner Who Will Never Be A Saint…Jagger Stone has lived his life by the rules. The rules he’s set forth for himself based on the word he believes.Forgiveness is taught and expected. But faced with Travis’ deception, Jagger is forced to question his beliefs and his place inside the Heaven Hill MC.
Jagger is having a hard time with his feelings about Travis being gone. He’s struggling with grief and forgiveness and anger and the club. It’s heartbreaking. Laramie Briscoe is masterful in the way she guides Jagger and readers thru this book. It broke my heart for him. I loved this book, it was wonderful and emotional and cathartic.
This book shows how the actions of one effect everyone differently.
This is another fantastic story that shows how the characters were affected after the events of Fury.
Jagger has always lived by the rules, but when faced with Travis’s betrayal, he’s able to forgive and can’t understand how everyone else just hates him without being able to forgive him either. Beyond these conflicts, he isn’t comfortable even in his own home.
This is a great story. I recommend the reading.
This was another emotional short story in the Heaven Hill Short Series. Jagger is still trying to overcome Travis’ betrayal and demise. He is unsure where to place the blame…on Travis or on a kid (Caelin). I could feel the emotions and dilemma along with Jagger. I can’t wait to see what happens with our Heaven Hill group in the future.
Jagger is a wreck after everything is said and done. With a strong writing skill, Laramie does it again. She writes so well that all the emotions are clear and you feel everything Jagger is going through. What do you do when one of your best friend betrays everything you thought he was? What do you do when he dies at the hand of one of your brother’s son?
Jagger is struggling with all the fallout from Travis’ actions. He knows what is believes. He knows the He knows what he has to do, but doesn’t know how. He has to figure out how to find that balance.
I don’t know how she does it. Each one of these shorts just keeps getting better and better. Jagger really made my heart just bleed. It was nice to see these hard men have a gentle heart.
I knew Jagger was going to make me cry alot. My heart was with him and Bianca. It hurt to see them struggle with their feelings. What Travis did was unforgivable and left everyone with mixed feelings and emotion.
God Girl I’m loving these novellas but they are killing me. Lord do I ugly cry alot while reading. This series is unbelievably amazing and I never want to say goodbye.
Your going to need to write them forever.
Roller coaster of emotions, Jagger gave us all something to think about. He is in so much pain from the loss of Travis and no one took time to recognize it or once they did they never tried to understand it. I think we all kind of forgot about the Travis from before Justice…..the person who loved to work on computer and hack into stuff for the club. Jagger is drowning in a sea of grief and is reaching out for someone to pull him back up, thankfully B is there to help him back up. The ring run in with Caelin was hard to read, readers could feel the pain in the scene, and we want so badly to keep the club harmony together and moving forward not against each other. This novella is a must read, it contains so much in such a little amount. I still feel as if there is unfinished emotions with the whole club and hopefully we can watch them work through them and become a little more whole again.
Loved Jagger!
We get a different side to the main story with jagger. Everyone else sees a villain and Jagger just sees a friend who nobody wants to remember. I really loved the perspective of this short on the whole story. Jagger and Bri are great and her struggle to see what Jagger was feeling is kind of all of our struggle but in the end you get where he is comings from. I know this review is kind of vague but unless you have read previous books and shorts being more specific spoils the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning Of the series. You won’t be disappointed. If you caught up then you NEED this short!
Another good book in the heaven hill short stories and I really liked it a lot. This author does not ever disappoint when its comes to keeping you hooked and falling in love with her books and characters.
I have loved all of the Heaven Hill shorts, but Jagger is the one that will stay with me. Jagger gives us a different perspective of the havoc that Travis’ actions left behind. Jagger feels as if he is the only one who doesn’t hate Travis and he can’t understand why no else can remember Travis before the event. Jagger is struggling and feels like no one understands.
I felt all of Jagger’s emotions and was hoping that at least B would understand where he was coming from. Well done!
I am enjoying these “slices of life” and Jagger’s book did not disappoint. Travis’s actions affected the entire club. Jagger was one of the ones closest to Travis and is finding his way to acceptance and the new normal. It is fascinating to read all of the different points of views of this one action.
I loved this story. We get Jagger’s point of view and how he is dealing with the aftermath and it breaks my heart to see how he is struggling. He remembers the man that Travis was before and its hard for him when no one seems to understand where he is coming from. Can he make peace with what had happened and how it happened. I myself felt like Jagger did with this and I emphasized with him. You can feel Jagger’s pain when you read this story…I felt it right along with him. A phenomenal story one that I recommend hands down. I am loving all of these short stories…well done!
This is the 5th book in this awesome series of shorts, and each one is an emotional roller coaster journey, which had quite an impact on a family that is left behind. This is a well written story which goes through the aftermath of loss, grief, betrayal, acceptance and love. I highly recommend this for all MC lovers as you will never be disappointed by this gifted author’ work!
Can’t get enough of these short novellas! This novella focuses on Jagger, also known as Travis’ brother-in-law, and how his death affected him, which was more different than the others in the MC because of his familial relation to him. I was interested to see how Jagger really struggled with Travis’ death and rationalizing what he did and the forgiveness he needed to provide him. I can’t wait for the next novella installment to see who the focus is on and how they handle the situation seeing as each book has a different reaction and handling of the overall situation within the MC.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Jagger was a great 5 star read.
After Travis’s betrayal of the club and his death at the hands of a younger MC brother, Jagger is struggling with how everyone seems to be dismissing his death and not treating him like someone who was family. Everyone has been affected differently and are dealing in their own ways. Will Jagger be able to move forward and get some peace?
Overall this was a great read showing the emotional side of what can happen when a brother is lost and how to forgive after betrayal. Laramie has once again pulled me in with her writing and I LOVED it. I can’t wait to read more.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Jagger! What an amazing book. I have read all of Laramie’s books, including all of the Heave Hill Shorts, and this is my far my favorite. I love the religious aspects. The battle of the sinner and the saint. The battle between betrayal and forgiveness! The book perfectly depicts the two sides, the two perspectives, and how both sides eventually see the same. Highly recommend after reading in the correct order. Laramie did a fantastic job!!
Well…
I guess I didn’t think about Jagger (Travis’ best friend) having issues with his death. I should have remembered they were close. But then again, Travis was married to Jagger’s sister so you would think he would Belk her side. At least, that’s what I thought.
This is a great bridge novella!
Sure let’s us know another aspect of the whole situation.
I can hardly wait to get into the nitty gritty on the next actual full length story!
The Heaven Hill shorts pick up where Heaven Hill Generations left off, giving us what happened next for those characters, and this fifth short is all about Jagger. This one isn’t so much a romance as it is one man coming to terms with his grief and what it all means for him. That’s not to say there isn’t any romance, because Jagger and B certainly love each other even when they don’t see eye to eye. Like its predecessors, what Jagger lacks in pages it makes up for in emotion, and he pulls at the heartstrings as he comes to grips with how he feels about all that’s happened to this point. As this series of shorts is a follow-up to Heaven Hill Generations, I would suggest you read those books first to fully understand what’s going on now with this terrific group of characters. I’ll admit that I rarely read MC romance, but there’s just something about the Heaven Hill MC, and I can’t get enough of these characters.
Emotional roller coaster from start to finish and I loved the ride!! Jagger just doesn’t understand why everyone is so ready to hate Travis when he has forgiven him. He just wants to mourn him without everyone coming down on him. Jagger doesn’t feel comfortable anywhere even at home with the one person that should see his POV and support him but doesn’t. These shorts take the main event from Fury and shows how it impacts everyone in the club in multiple shorts. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!
