The Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series continues with a couple fighting to keep what they thought they had and gain what they didn’t know they needed.Roxie Montgomery met her soul mate when she least expected it. When he asked her to marry him, she thought her happily ever after was only just beginning. Then, she found that walking into the sunset was much harder than her favorite books made … books made it out to be. After a crushing loss, she feels as though she doesn’t know her husband anymore, or rather…she doesn’t know herself.
Carter Marshall has loved Roxie since the first time he saw her. But as the days pass between them, so does the distance. He doesn’t know how to show her that he’s all in, and honestly doesn’t know if she’s in at all. When an accident changes everything, they’ll have to decide if what they have can be salvaged, or if starting over is the answer. Or even possible.
Without fighting, without a true new beginning, sometimes, the remnants of what was lost can leave anyone jagged, shells of what they were before. It will take more than the idea of forever for Roxie and Carter to find themselves again, but as the Montgomerys know, nothing worth fighting for is easy.

Another wonderful Montgomery Ink story. This one started with some issues with Carter and Roxie. They admitted they loved each other, but something had happened that caused their communication to break down. It got to the point where they didn’t talk at all. Both were miserably unhappy. The story told both of their points of view. It was very sweet everything Carter did to try and make their relationship work again. Also it reminded all of us that communication needs to happen to keep a relationship going. Carrie told a good story with an HEA.
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Carrie Ann Ryan is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
Oh the Montgomerys, what a family! The theme this time is a married couple in trouble. Carter and Roxi seem to be on the way to divorce. But why? The first part of the book shows this side of them that no one else knows about, they are very private and the family respects that. It dragged a little but it’s a beautiful journey to find themselves as a couple.
I absolutely loved this book! It drew me in from beginning to end. At times it could be a little hard to read as both Roxie and Carter were struggling. They both still loved the other but no longer knew how to communicate or read the other person. They truly had to work to find their happily ever after. I really enjoyed the story, even with it being hard to read at times. Sometimes all I wanted was to tell them, just say it out loud to Roxie/Carter. But like in the beginning of the book, it’s not actually that easy when it comes down to it. It’s hard to get those words out in a situation like they were in. Hard to get past what was going on inside yourself and your doubts to actually spit those words out. I loved the way that the story developed and the way that we got to see Roxie and Carter grow throughout the story. I really enjoyed it!! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I never got bored. Once I started reading, I had to keep going because I really felt for the two of them and wanted to see their happy ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I received an advanced copy of this book. I freely leave this honest review. This is a heart wrenching love story of loss and recovery. Carter and Roxie married fast. Then things happened to part them. The emotions and situations are all so real. You invest part of yourself in this story. So very well-written it’s a very good read.
This book is on the emotional side. A good half of the story occurs as Roxie or Carter’s thoughts, not dialogue. That made it a slow start for me. If you’ve gone through a divorce before or you’re in a rocky relationship then you might identify well with this story. I was really having a hard time with it until the dialogue picked up. It was depressing.
Roxie and Carter do get their happy ending and there are some very hot times and some heart-warming moments. This wasn’t my favorite book in the series, but if you’re a fan of then you’ll want to read it. 3.5 stars
This is an emotionally charged story that captivated my attention and kept me turning the pages. The story is a refreshing change in that it’s about an established couple that hits a real rough patch and needs to find their way back to each other. I was on an emotional rollercoaster while reading this story.
Grab you tissue! I was hooked from the very beginning. Roxie and Carter love each other but communication is pretty much non existent and Roxie has been pushing Carter away for awhile. Why? Well, no spoilers but they have some deep poop that needs to be talked about. They have to hit rock bottom before they can begin the climb to discover who they are to each other again. Carter being burned saving Thea rocked Roxie to her core, but can that help bring them together? Or does the bottom fall out? Hmmmmm…
There is an HEA and the journey is not an easy one. This book is so full of emotion. Laughing one minute, crying the next, then through some steamy sex on top of it all.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs #3, Another great book from Carrie Ann Ryan. This book was hard to read at points, not because it was bad but because it was so emotionally heart wrenching. I have been through something similar and the part where they actually talk about it was difficult to get through; despite having to stop to wipe away tears I still finished it in one sitting.
Roxie and Carter hit a rough patch in their marriage and the accident at Thea’s bakery didn’t help any matters. Not knowing how to talk to each other anymore was their downfall. Roxie filed for divorce and Carter moved out. With family and friend not knowing what to do but watch from the sidelines and be there when they need them; which is difficult for Carter because he feels like he’s not a Montgomery and they are Roxie’s family they should be there for her. Only Roxie cut herself off from her family and has been spending time with Liam, one of the Boulder cousins. They still need to hit rock bottom before they can work their way back out of the hole they dug themselves into. Can they rebuild the relationship or is it too late to try?
Overall, I love this series and this was an emotional rollercoaster. I knew I was in for an ugly cry when I picked this up but I wasn’t prepared for how close to home it would hit for me. I’m sad to see this chapter of the Montgomery’s to come to an end but I look forward to the Boulder Montgomerys.
Jagged Ink was very repetitive and slow in the beginning which made it somewhat difficult to get into. The fact that it contained a trope that I’m not overly fond of, miscommunication didn’t help matters, that said I did enjoy the latter part of this story.

Someone pass me a tissue! This book took me through all my feels, and then some. I have waited to read what was what with Roxie and Carter since the introduction of the Colorado Springs Montgomery’s. This book did not disappoint! This story was such a great microcosm of marriage ups and downs and how just telling a couple to talk it out doesn’t always work. Now, if we can just learn what is up with Landon and Kaylee.
This is a great second chance romance story. It is romantic and gut wrenching in the same book. Roxie Montgomery and Carter Marshall start off this newest book married. There is a sense right away that their marriage is in trouble. Carter is burned in a fire saving Roxie’s sister. The tension between Carter in Roxie is palpable. When Carter gets home from the hospital, he notices divorce papers sitting out. What has Roxie done? Carter becomes even more cut off from Roxie. He loves her but is love enough? Roxie feels the same way. Is love enough to keep them together. They both have stopped talking to each other by this point. They are living together but living separate lives. Carter decides to move out and give Roxie what she wants. Carter doesn’t realize that Roxie doesn’t know if she wants that. After a date with another woman, Carter decides he can not live without Roxie. He will do whatever he needs to do to make this second chance work. Roxie and Carter both grow so much in this story. The heartbreak they experience to lead to their silent relationship moved me to tears. This was a great story that I will take with me for a long time.
Roxie and Carter’s story is my new favorite Carry Ann Ryan story!! My emotions were all over the place and tears fell more than once. It was definitely worth the wait!!!
Omg this story just wrecked me in so many ways emotionally. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions and the way Carrie Ann Ryan spins the tale is very beautiful. Carter and Roxie have a lot to deal with and to learn and just the way they got to happy is truly beautiful. I’m still emotional. I absolutely love this story.

This book was difficult for me to read.
It was tough to read about Roxie and Carter and at the same time I could not stop reading it.
Their story has been hinted through out the other books and I did know that it was supposed to be emotional, but really Carrie Ann? My husband and daughter thought that I was having a meltdown of to many tears I cried over this book!
But anyway, the book is so emotional and sweet (and sexy after all). It is about the journey that this couple has to face to rediscover their love and themselves.
No relationship is settled and happy endings have to be earned. They work through their issues and this is a sign of maturity and love.
This is a wonderful book!
I’ve been waiting for Roxie and Carter’s story since reading Fallen Ink, but honestly, I was a little disappointed by Jagged Ink.
Here’s why.
The first half of the book mainly focused on Roxie’s and Carter’s introspection, and while I know that was truly needed for both of them, I felt like it could’ve taken up a lesser portion of the book.
When they finally decided to DO something, I absolutely loved it. Connection, chemistry, conflict, all the things Carrie Ann Ryan does so well…and with a MARRIED couple. Yes.
As a side note, I believe Carrie Ann Ryan does character inner turmoil and introspection really well also. I just wanted a little less of that and more action to go with it.
Now I look forward too seeing what happens with Landon and Kaylee.
