The Edge never breaks.
Never quits.

Together they must hunt down the faction behind her capture and subsequent torture to keep HERA from becoming an unstoppable terroristic threat. What they uncover could destroy them both.

OMG I haven’t read anything but Paranormal and Sci-fi for five years because nothing else interests me but this book caught me on the first page it was so intense it took me all the way through until the last page. I loved it.
Mary Reynolds aka: Edge – everyone wanted Quillery Edge duo. Mary is a the genius who has gotten many men out of sticky situations, some thought this was it, they were going to die but she wouldn’t let them she goaded them to go on. She didn’t care what she had to do as long as she brought them home. Then she was kidnapped they wanted something from her but she wouldn’t give it to them, they wanted to break her. But she was Edge
they couldn’t break her or could they?
The kidnappers all in masks tried to break her, they tried for days, she is the EDGE! Breaking is not in her vocabulary.
Dylan Mason and his brothers, Marshall, Jesse, Cord, Nolan, and Dallas were paramilitary they formed The Arsenal. When they heard Edge was kidnapped they knew they would do whatever they had to get her out of the terrorist hands. Every time Dylan thought of what she said when he first rescued her makes him mad, he keeps thinking of it her words were
“I’m expendable”. Dylan knew he was getting too close but he couldn’t help himself he had to be next to Mary.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
09/21/2020 I was on the edge of my seat throughout “Jagged Edge” (nook). Wow!!! What a brilliant and intense thriller. The bad guys are diabolical and their cruelty is unbound. Cara Carnes easily portrays the twists and turns of their plots and actions. On the other hand, Mary and Dylan are intelligent, caring and determined.
Hurray for the HEA.
This book blew me away. It’s been awhile since there has been a book that keeps dragging me back from everything else I should have been doing. It brought a kick arse woman to the fore font and told the story that I think we all battle with as women – we give all we have, we bury ourselves in work, we don’t think that we are enough. We become more than just the soft female.
Mary/Edge is the pivot point in major take down plot between the good guys and the bad guys. There are a lot of lives at stake if Edge doesn’t do her job and keep people safe. Mary’s friends are a team to be reckoned with. Then the book takes on rough and tumble men that are in Mary’s life. New bonds are formed, old ones are strengthened. The book contains a lot of action, traitors, geniuses, hawt guys, and a moral support team that is just the jiggity bomb!
Warning that there are issues brought up in this book that could be triggers for some.
Loved this book!
I started this book and read all day to finish it! Mary was a fantastic character who really went through hell. Dylan was also great and wonderful with Mary. The secondary characters were also well developed and likeable and I look forward to reading more about them. Lots of action and some mystery as they work to find out who is after Mary and Vi’s system called HERA. Loved it!!!
I am so in love with this series with it being awhile since I devoured a book so fast. Mary snatches you up with you keep getting your heart in your throat as you are by her side. After that when Dylan keeps by her side you are a goner with them and this story. The other characters also that this author introduces in this will surround you all around that you disappear as the drama inches along. You are kept on edge or too hot depending on what is going on with by the time you finally think relief might be in sight bam this author grabs you by the throat with one last punch. After the last page in this one I sat back stunned hoping there will be pity and another one is soon.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Okay I do believe that my mind is now blown. This book starts out by throwing you in the deep end with torture, rape, and so much more of the MC Mary that makes it really easy to get a hate on for the bad guys of the story. The problem is that the author is great at keeping their identity a secret no matter what you may think to the contrary. When Mary is rescued by the hunky Dylan and the rest of the Arsenal team things really start to come together. I was loving the tech stuff and the military like precision of the teams and the compound. This is one incredible group of women that I was really impressed with and the guys are no joke either. If you enjoy contemporary romantic suspense novels then you so have to read this book. I totally loved every minute of so I give it 5/5 stars.
Strong women were the center of the story. Yea!
Got absolutely involved with this book and stayed up to finish reading. Great characters, loved the women roles (rules!), a bit romantic, and an ending I never expected. Looking forward to Book #2
I liked relaxing with this book
loved bought the next one, can’t wait for the third
The author knows how to tell a story, pull at your heart strings and bring the ex military to life. They all have pieces of themselves that aren’t whole because of the things they have seen and done. It makes me feel like I am there with them and remember my friends and what they went through when I was in the Army. Although I wasn’t in battle, I saw the after effects during the Viet Nam Era. To all the military out there you aren’t alone. Excellent read and writting. HEA.
I have just found another go to author for romantic suspense and I can’t wait to devour the rest of this series. This starts with a bang and ends with a bang. Mary aka Edge has been kidnapped and violated for days until a group rescues her and her H is Dylan.
Dylan with his brothers have formed The Arsenal, a private group made of ex military men who do ops off the books and were given a lead on Mary and her captivity. The rescue is in and out and when Mary is back at their HQ, her posse shows up to be with her.
There is a lot going on, Mary’s captivity, her posse, the men of Arsenal, surprises, betrayals, steam, action, recovery, and so much more. But with all that was going on, it never skipped a beat, flowing beautifully, with amazing characters, descriptions that were spot on and the attraction between Mary and Dylan….hot hot hot.
My new go to author for romantic suspense and I can’t wait for the other men and women to get their stories…YES YES YES!!!
So Good
I wish I had read this one before I started the series so I could know the main characters, but I Loved the tough women and men in this story.
Loved this story. I actually read maris story first which is a spin off and part of the alpha series collective with multiple authors. Then wanted to get into the Arsenal series to have background. And I wasn’t disappointed. So much craziness. Mary/The edge is a back ops genius that handles the coms, communication info and all other technical stuff behind the scenes for operatives in the field. Until she is captured for her codes and access to her security program. Dylan and the rest of the Mason brothers at The Arsenal rescue her and help to find out the culprit behind all the madness. Many twists and turns and bad eggs to ferret out. Loved the story and how Dylan and Mary connected. Can’t wait for Vis story.
Enjoy reading this author
This is definitely a new favourite of mine, the characters are amazing both main and secondary. I love getting to know them separately and then when they come together. The plots amazing and made me want to cry, scream and laugh. Edge is such a strong woman and Dylan complemented her in the best possible ways. Will for sure be reading anything and everything from this author from now on!!
Mary “the Edge” Reynolds is half of a team of elite handles. She has her partner are the go to girls for difficult OPs and even more difficult extractions. She has been kidnapped. Brutally tortured, she doesn’t break. Rescued by Dylan Mason and his team, made up of his five brothers, she is whisked away to their Texas Compound.
Mary and her Partner Vi, along with two other women have come up with a sentient computer program that in the wrong hands could potentially enslave the world, the ultimate big brother is watching.
Mary and Vi join the Mason brothers Security firm, The Arsenal, and offer them their program. They start recruiting the best operatives they have worked with. Mary and her team are being hunted. They are going to need the best to solve, who is targeting them.
Through it all Mary and Dylan are falling for each other.
Great story, fun, fast paced and a little steamy. Loved the Mason brothers and their baby sister. Mary and her team are are strong and intelligent women There are some great secondary characters. This book deals with, torture, and rape, which may be a trigger for some.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book from Booksprout. Loved it, bought it on support of the author. Will read again Looking forward to the next book, Vi ‘s story.
