Jager Hannover, a former SEAL, has recovered from the damage done when his squad’s truck drove over an antitank landmine more than two years ago. Six other team-mates were also badly injured, the seventh–Mouse–dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap. On the hunt for answers about Mouse’s history and the one who set up the trap, Jager ends up in Vail, … Colorado.
He followed Mouse’s best friend here only to discover he’s already disappeared, leaving a trail of death in his wake. Getting himself to this particular place wasn’t easy as it’s also where his parents died in a tragic accident. While on a cross-country road trip, their motorhome went off a corner of the mountain and plunged them to their deaths. Considering the information he’s found thus far, he fears this was no accident.
Allison Monroe is a police officer in Vail, Colorado. Her husband, who was also a cop, died a couple years ago in a skiing accident. Staying in the place where her dreams were shattered has given her time to sort out her grief and evaluate the direction she wants to go with her life. Getting caught up in Jager’s investigation of someone she knows only as a party animal and womanizer isn’t what she intended, but the attraction between the two of them is instant and undeniable. Passion turns to deadly purpose in a race against time when they follow a killer to Santa Fe, where he’s hunting badgers…

Loved this series. Seals, no matter how damaged or broken, always persevere. There is no breaking them. Jager and Allison immediately clicked with each other. There was a phrase in the book that they “clicked and locked together”. Great phrase. These badass men find the perfect badass woman. I thought this was the last book, but super excited to know there is a book 8
The time for reckoning is upon the Seals of Steel…
The Seals of Steel series had captured my reading heart from it’s very beginning with BADGER – Bk 1. We come full circle with the OMG, explosive, epic conclusion ton what has been such an incredibly, phenomenal series. The numerous questions and theories that have been floated, leads that lead to further surmising for the team and their partners… now bring astounding and heartbreaking answers.
Jager is the last of the team to search for some personal closure into his parents tragic deaths along with a clue to the teams own horrific landmine tragedy. With the help of a local law enforcement officer, Allison, what unravels is unexpected, yet solves a more personal situation for this dynamic lady. Allison is a wonderful blend of logical intelligence, controlled strength, and vulnerability. While she has her own personal demons to contend with, she is not afraid to ask the tough questions to get things sorted, even if it can land her in a world of trouble. Jager is a witness to she faces and he is not one to let an injustice pass. Both characters are well matched and played of each other beautifully. Their attraction sizzles…
Oh WOW!! The time for reckoning is upon them. Their nightmare of pain, not only the landmine tragedy but since this investigation started is now! The answers are revealed… you are going to be on the edge captivated from the start to it’s heart wrenching end. Dale has had you enthralled throughout this series with it’s page turning twists and seemingly dead ends. It’s been one suspenseful twist and intriguing ride along the way. You definitely want to read to find out all of the answers.
This is part of an overall series and to fully appreciate the Seals of Steel, you need to start at the very beginning. It’s for those that love to solve a good mystery, those that love our military based hero’s and the women who command their attention – those very same ladies they will protect with their very life. You thought that this was the end… oh no, Dale gifts you another book to thoroughly wrap up this entire series – I wonder what is coming next… I can’t wait to read what Dale Mayer has in store for readers.
Jager is the last of his team to have his own story. He has remained in the shadows since his Seal team was blown up. He considers himself the “patchwork” guy as he was burned on various parts of his body and went on to have multiple skin grafts. He has no hope for any future relationships.
Jager decides he will fly to Vail alone to follow-up on the last lead his team has to find out who sabotaged his teams mission and get more information about his parents accident. Allison is a police officer who investigated his parents accident.
This story has many twists and turns with some surprises along the way. This was a great series with one more book to clean up the loose ends.

The answers are here, but they’re not what you think!
As the seventh surviving SEAL finds his love match, the mystery surrounding the attack that injured them all comes to a conclusion. Jager, the last single man in the group, heads out on his own to follow a lead in Vail, where his parents were killed six months prior. Asking around about the man who may be at the center of the conspiracy, he draws the attention of Allison, a local police officer, who decides to help him track down his leads and gain some closure about his parents’ death as well.
The action is intense and fast-paced in this book – the entire story unfolds over just a few days. But it’s long enough for romance to blossom, for answers to be found, and for a long-awaited confrontation to take place back in Santa Fe. The gang’s all here for that final part, and everyone has a unique part to play in wrapping up the investigation. The book ends with a hint about the next book in the series, which is shaping up to be a very satisfying HEA epilogue for all.
This is a very detailed, very involved story that started with Badger’s story, and while the romance is standalone, the investigation is not. I highly recommend that you read all the books in this series, in order. I plan to read through them again once the series is complete. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A total 5* star review. What more can I give it. I was so waiting for his book as it answers so many of the questions that was running around my head but OMG I totally did not see THAT coming at all. This time it’s Jager’s turn. The only team member alone. As he heads to Yail on a trail from a name, he meets Allison, a cop who has grieved for a dead husband and isn’t exactly satisfied with her job. Jäger finds something out about his parents death and I’d angry that the police shut the case. Things between Allison and her boss come to a head as the chief sees for himself what he is like.
This book had my with tears in my eyes for Jager and his parents, shouting because of the boss and cheering them on as they find piece after piece of the jigsaw that will explain what’s going on. As I said I was not expecting the pieces to show THAT ending though. It had my heart speeding up as the book came to its climax and then BOOM you find out what, why, who and all of the other info you have needed throughout the other books. A fantastic series from an amazing author and books that I know for sure will be on my reread list.

Wow, just WOW! This book, had me gasping in disbelief as this series unwinds its final episode.
The book opens with the entire crew discussing where to go next and who should go. There’s also a little surprise in there for Geir.
Jager doesn’t give the guys a chance to pair him up, he leaves Badger’s home, grabs his go bag and books a flight to Vail. His goal find this latest connection to Mouse and see if he’s the answer they’ve been looking for. In the process he pisses everyone off, because they are a team and they didn’t want him going without backup.
He does find backup in an unusual way once he’s there, as he questions various hotel workers about Freddie Brown. Freddie is supposedly a good friend of Mouse and works at one of the hotels in Vail. He also wants the opportunity to find out more about his parent’s motorhome accident that happened right outside town.
Allison Monroe is contacted by one of her friends after Jager was there questioning her. The evasive way the questions were asked raised flags and since Allison is a police officer, she would be the best person to approach the stranger in town.
Jager is confronted by Allison and essentially gets his backup and also answers about his parents accident.
Jager pays a visit to Freddie’s roommates and gets far more than he expected. Leading him to the conclusion that everything would come to a head in Santa Fe.
So much insight from Allison, I loved the way she thought out of the box. I loved all the interactions with the team, this book totally took me off guard as I realized I too had missed the clues.
Hold your breath moments, laughter, tears and some sizzle. Don’t miss this stunning conclusion to SEALs of Steel!
I can’t wait to see what’s next for Dale Mayer, she hasn’t disappointed me yet!
I was waiting for this book and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint me. Jager met his perfect match with Allison. Both are strong and love fully. When these two team up on this action packed adventure the results are astonishing. A must read for all Dale Mayer fans.
At last, the answers as to who is behind the landmine accident that killed one member of their team and injured the other 7 members. I must say that Jager is my favorite of the team members, although all of their stories have been a treat to read. There were definitely some twists in this story that I did not foresee. And it ends with a bit of twist – seems Kat has something up her sleeve that will be revealed in the next book.
This was an outstanding book. Dale did a fantastic job of writting this. I’ve followed along with each seal and his trials and struggles. Jagger goes to Vail to see the accident site where his parents died. He meets Allison who is a cop. Together they piece together the answers. There is a lot of action and surprises in the end. I recommend this book to everyone.

This is Book 7 of an 8 book collection. Although each book is a stand alone but I would suggest reading them all. Jager travels to Vail in search of a piece of their comrade’s past. It is also the site of a tragedy in Jager’s life. An encounter with a local officer provides Jager with leads, bringing him closer to solving the puzzle that is Mouse.

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 6 in the SEALs Of Steel series.
The “SEALs of Steel” were an eight-man SEAL team unit that was misled/ambushed/given “bogus” orders that caused them to hit a landmine during transport. All the men were grievously injured and one man (“Mouse”) died. The remaining seven SEALs are investigating to find out what happened and why; and hopefully in the end to avenge Mouse’s death.
You certainly must read this series in order or you will be lost. This is definitely a series with layers of stories within a STORY.
This book centers Jager and Allison. There is reference to Levi, Ice and also Stone. These characters are from two of Ms. Dale’s other related SEALs series. Also quite good.
investigating Mouse’s background as events to this point have led the team to believe their “accident” and the rash of tragic events the team members closest friends and family have suffered are somehow linked to their deceased team member, Mouse.
Jager is looking for answers about who set up the original “accident” the SEAL team suffered in Afghanistan. Jager tracks Mouse’s friend and last link to Vail, Colorado only to discover he’s disappeared. Jager and Allison (Vail police officer) follow the man they suspect to be a serial killer back to Santa Fe, where the rest of the SEAL team are waiting for answers. The story evolves/devolves from there.
This book definitely answers many of the questions throughout the series. However, I did feel parts of this story (Allison’s work situation, her assault, and a victim she’d been working with-all left hanging). Grr
Heat level: Medium. I still have a bit of a problem believing the “insta-love” story; just seems too far-fetched to me. I thought this book would “wrap-up” this series, but it seems Ms. Dale has one more book planned for us. My take is that Badger (book 1) may get his finale… This is a fast/easy read.

Wow! This book was so riveting it kept me up all night turning pages.
Jager is following another lead, and meets Allison when he goes to Vail to follow up on that lead regarding a man that knew Mouse.
Everything is coming together now, and Jager is hoping they will finally get some answers about who was behind the Humvee accident.
.
Allison is a police officer in Vail, mourning the death of her husband who died in a skiing accident.
Together Jager and Allison work at figuring out just what happened in the accident that killed Mouse and injured his teammates, as well as solving the deaths of Jager’s parents.
This was an amazing story, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

With all six of his cohorts in relationships, and the killer still at large, Jager has vowed to take the next step on his own. Poppy’s papers have revealed the name of Mouse’s close friend Freddie, who is last known working in the hospitality industry in Vail, Colorado. Could he have had something to do with the “accident” that killed Jager’s parents? Another motivator for Jager to find Freddie, who has been missing from Vail for awhile, according to Vail PD Officer Allison Monroe, who was also the officer on the scene when the motorhome driven by Emelia and Jorgen Elstad went off a mountain road near the Vail ski resorts. Allison shows Jager the accident scene, and they find evidence that the PD’s presumption of cause was a driver’s heart attack was premature—black paint around a big dent in the bumper.
Together, and protecting each other’s back, Jager and Allison overcome resistance and unprofessional behavior by Allison’s commanding officer, as well as find the information they need to return to Santa Fe and save their team’s lives as the killer takes one last shot at inflicting maximum pain.
One more installment in the series. I’m torn between solving all the mini-mysteries in this series and being sad that this ride will end in one more turn. I always hate to see great books and series end.
