Warning….. you may want to keep your guard up when reading this book because Jag will steal your heart. Sunni and Jag’s story is one that at times will feel like a heavy weight is on your chest as these two struggle with bad memories. Their story will put a choke hold on your heart and soul and will not relinquish until the very last page. As one of them finds their way out with heart, fire and desire the other will struggle to free themselves from the crushing weight of their past. Jag is a story that will give you a rush of emotions like no other. You will laugh and cry, have your heart in your throat, your pulse will race and every fantasy will be met. This second book in the Diablo’s Throne MMA series is about family, love and trust. You know that feeling and adrenaline rush that a fighter has when he succeeds in the ring with a TKO, that’s the only way I can describe how this story will make you feel.
I absolutely love this series. All the characters are amazing. Each books features a different fighter/couple so they can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading all the Diablo’s Throne MMA Books. They are suspenseful and keep me so engaged I can’t put them down.
‘Jag’ is book 2 in HJ Bellus’ Diablo Throne Series.
Wow!!! What can I say that would do this book justice. I have been a huge fan of HJ Bellus’ for a while now and I absolutely love her characters and their stories. It is way too hard and impossible to choose a favourite from HJ’s books and please do NOT ask me to. But right now I would have to say Jag is my FAVOURITE. I really loved reading ‘Cruz’ book 1 in this series and thought that Cruz was my favourite but was also enjoying the bits of Jag we got to see in it but now I have to admit I was fooling myself thinking it was Cruz .
The bond between Jag and Bella is so ADORABLE and I wish I had an uncle I could admire like Bella does with Jag.
I absolutely loved this bit between Cruz, Layla and Boss after Bella runs off to Jag.
“I swear we are chopped liver when he’s around,” Cruz grumbles.
“I know.” Layla pats his chest. “She’s still a daddy’s girl. Don’t you worry about that.”
“It’s because he’s a damn clown. What little kid wouldn’t love him?” Boss adds.
‘Jag’ is a MUST read. If you haven’t read ‘Cruz’ don’t stress to much as ‘Jag’ can be read on its own, but there will be key moments that you may not be able to understand without having read ‘Cruz’. Also why wouldn’t you want to read ‘Cruz’ it was a fantastic read and you most definitely won’t be disappointed with either book.
I love this book, you get, hatred, anger, lies, plotting and scheming, revenge, lust, passion, friendships, love and hot sex.
Jag is a cocky lovable manwhore, he had a shitty childhood, until Boss showed him the octagan. His past is threatening his future, and that brings him to the bar. He’s seen Sunni at the diner but when he sees her a the bar he sees her as the super hot babe she is. They set the sheets on fire, but Sunni has a past that keeps herself at arms length and hides secrets.
Sunni hides her past, her ex-husband is a real piece of work. Jag is the light at the end of her dark tunnel, but when he knows what is supposed to be the truth it will be game over. Her ex won’t give in until she is destroyed and no way in hell will she drag Jag into that mess.
Will Sunni’s past tear them apart?
Or will they get the future they both deserve?
Staright on to Trick
I so love this book and Jag!! HJ couldn’t have written him to be more perfect. I love all his craziness but then you you see him starting his downfall and his vulnerability but him trying to fight to stay strong. To his finding his will again and looking at someone in a different light. To his crazy song choices that brought a smile to my face because who cannot love Spongebob Squarepants people!!! To the way Jag loves his family and the way he protects those he loves. I mean gahhh I love Cruz but damn Jag just stole my heart and ran away with it!!! He only disappointed me once and that was honestly to be expected.
Sunni is broken and bent. And is in no means looking for anything with anyone. One she thinks she can’t and two she thinks she doesn’t deserve it. But who can resist Jag? But she knows his reputation so she thinks she’s ok. But every time she turns around he’s there breaking down her walls. But she can’t have the fairytale and she knows this. But when they are together be careful you might get burnt from the flames coming from this book!!!
I was so engrossed in this book that I had to finish it before I went to bed. So yes I finished in one day. I also was so into this book I forgot to even add it to my Goodreads til I went in to fix that I was done and realized I hadn’t even put I started!!! I forgot to eat!!! I should have started it earlier in the day so listen to me and start when you have plenty of time to finish it!! It was raw, real and I loved it!! I laughed, I cried and I laughed so hard I cried. I was on the edge of my seat for some of this book and for some of this book I had a smile on my face. And look at this review I’m rambling on and on so I will shut up and say read this book and this series!!!! – By Tina
Jag is just a hot mess when he’s hammered, “I’s got a ***k.” He stumbles out of my arms. I dart around him and open my passenger side door, so all he has to do is flop down. “Look.” I turn to see Jag with his pants down, waving his ***k at me.” Jag just always overshares with people, “it’s a darn serious health issue at this point. Can’t waltz into the octagon with Woody Woodpecker jabbing through my fighting shorts.” I loved this book, Jag was everything the man never took anything seriously.
Jag by HJ Bellus. Jag is the 2nd book in the Diablo’s Throne MMA Series. This book was so hot and steamy it had me attached from beginning to end that I could not put it down. Other then reading the 1st book in this series I have not read any books by HJ Bellus. I have to say I absolutely love her writing, and will have to look into some of her other books. Jag is about MMA fighter trying to become the next MMA champion. Jag is having a hard time escaping his past. It has the power to destroy the man he’s worked so hard to become. But it’s all a shield protecting the storm brewing inside of him. There is a New girl in town named Sunni that Jag can’t seem to stay away from. Sunni is quiet, mysterious, and has some secrets of her own. Sunni has been running from her secrets for awhile now. Sunny and Jag collide when least expected. Readers will definitely being crushing hard on Jag; he’s not only an incredible MMA fighter but he also has a huge heart. I loved witnessing him become aware of just how much he wanted and needed Sunni. I truly enjoyed reading this book/entire series, and hope there will be another read in this series.
Fun & enjoyable until it knocks the wind out of you!
I love to read about hot men that don’t take themselves too seriously. Jag is that man on spades! I knew I would love him the moment we met him in Cruz. What I didn’t know was his story; what made Jag Jag?
Jag became a part of the Diablo’s Throne “family” before there was even a Diablo’s Throne after Boss rescues the little 8 year old Jag from his own family. Now he has grown into a great MMA fighter whose past is trying to drown him and even starts to win.
Enter Sunni, bartending the night Jag is trying to drown himself. From the moment he helicopters his…um…little Jag for Sunni, she knows there’s something special about him and she knows she’s a goner.
She knows she shouldn’t love for him. Her secrets and her past will never let her, she can’t help it. It’s as natural and effortless as breathing. She knows she should tell him about her past, she knows she should. But what is wrong to want to live in the fairy tale just a little longer.
“Life is a cruel bitch. That’s the only lesson I’ve taken away from my days on this earth.”
Holy crow!! This book had from minute go! HJ has done it again with the most amazing characters and storyline…EV_AH!! This book grabs you and doesn’t let go until it’s rocked your world and left you shook!
Jag has been spiralling down lately and it is just his past coming back to haunt him. When he goes into a bar and meets Sunni’s beautiful eyes he feel at home. Sunni is running from her past and she knows she can’t involve Jag into it but she can’t resist the troubled fighter. When their pasts come back to haunt them and collide with a conclusion no one expected. Wow! I have to say that I loved Jag’s story. It was so good and filled with emotions. This book brought me to tears. Sunni’s story broke my heart. I recommend this book and I can’t wait for Trick’s story next.
Here we go again with this author and her dangerous books. You are in danger of being squeezed from top to bottom till you have emptied it all out and filled with the emotions this author has seeped into you from this one. Jag and Sunni are two broken pieces that slowly fit together. As that happens you get their story that will be up front and personnel in more ways than one. Also returning are Boss man and others that must be in it to complete this. Deep secrets are hidden here with you know slowly who and than the big climax of the why. Also Jag is in deep and coming up big in this one with you going for the gold right along with him. Once you are gutted like a perfect morsel of a fish she will fill you with the heat and love that a author with magic words can do. The form will be these two but the love will save you. I would at times purposely stop because I knew it was coming the sweet release of pain and pleasure that this story was bringing but by the time the end comes it is all joy with what my eyes behold.
5 Spongebob Filled Stars!!
Omg HJ Bellus!!! I fell for Jag in Cruz and I’ve fallen even deeper for him. He’s still the Jag I fell for but I never realized everything he’d been thru.
If you were curious to see how Jag became Boss and Layla’s adopted son/brother well you’ll find out. Yup. It gutted me. I’m glad Boss stopped Jag all those years ago.
Jag hasn’t had it easy. When Boss saves him and explains to him the proper way to fight he makes a promise to Boss and himself to use his fists for good. But, it took Jag awhile to get it straight. He was at the top of his game until he let his dad get into his head and it messed him up.
When Jag hits rock bottom he heads to the bar where he runs into Sunni. He knows her from working as a waitress at the diner, but never knew she worked here too. It’s then he realizes his feelings are there for her. OMG I’d of loved to have been in the parking lot when he was drunk, I’m just saying lol.
When Boss, Layla, Cruz and the rest of Jags fighting family show him the love and support he needs to step up to the one person who can get under his skin. Jag feels rejuvenated and goes to get Sunni. He wants her.
Sunni has laid low since she moved to this town. She’s found a cheap apartment and 2 jobs that pay her under the table. But, when Jag comes into her life and wants her she can’t say no. She knows she must either tell Jag the truth or let him go. But, he makes it so hard for her to leave. Sunni has to figure it out bc the wolf is in sheeps clothing and ready to attack to take her, Jag, Boss and everyone she considers family down.
Holy cow! This book I read in one sitting. No joke I thought I knew Sunni’s secret. But… HJ Bellus shocked me bc I wasn’t expecting what I got.
I love the guys from this MMA world. And, their leader Boss he had me tearing up multiple times. There was so many good, laughable, tearful, painful moments in this book. You have to pick it up. I’m waiting for the next guy to step up bc I’m ready!!!
This is quickly becoming my top favorite MMA series there is out there! If you are looking for some sexy, sweaty, off the charts hot fighters, look no further! Bellus’s writing style is completely unique, creative, and beyond brilliant! The characters are always original and one of a kind! I hope this series NEVER ends!!
WOW let me get my emotions under control. JAG is a book that is strong, passionate and loving from beginning to end. Jag’s past was not easy and Boss gave his something better. He is on top and trying to his best, and then he lost.
Sunni is doing the best she can; she is hiding from her past. Working in the bar is not what she wanted, but it is the best she can do. Now she has something to look forward too and he is sitting at her bar. Jag and Sunni have this amazing ride of love, lust and humor. I love getting to know them. Sunni knows that Jag will be her protector; she just needs to tell him her past.

Man does HJ Bellus know how to pull out all the emotions in a girl. I laughed, I sobbed, I swooned, I grabbed a fan, you name it I felt it while reading Jag! I already adored Jag from reading Cruz, but now I’m completely in love with him. His story had my heart breaking then put it back together in the best way. I wish I could give this book all the stars!
Jag is this mix of intense and playful that is addictive. There is no subtle or small with this man, he’s full force all the way at all times. Fighting, loving, playing he throws all of himself into it. Because of that, when Jag loves, he loves BIG. The love he felt for Sunni pours off the pages in a way that makes you actually FEEL it. Sunni quickly became another favorite character for me. She’s a bit of a mystery, but has a heart that radiates pure kindness.
The Chemistry between these two is seriously off the charts. Sweet, sexy, laugh out loud funny at times. I LOVED THEM! Mixed in with all of that are moments that had me gasping in complete shock and on the edge of my seat dying to know what was going to happen. This book is one you can’t put down!
