Hathaway House: Jaden (Book 10)
Welcome to Hathaway House, a heartwarming military romance series from USA TODAY best-selling author Dale Mayer. Here you’ll meet a whole new group of friends, along with a few favorite characters from Heroes for Hire. Instead of action, you’ll find emotion. Instead of suspense, you’ll find healing. Instead of romance, … oh, wait. … There is romance—of course!
… is romance—of course!
Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love.
Jaden Hancock knows that things could be a lot worse. He still has two arms and two legs, even if one of his legs is so badly damaged it’s virtually useless. And it’s not that he isn’t willing to work toward recovery—it’s just hard to see the lack of progress even after weeks of therapy. While he knows that he needs to accept the current state of his body, that acceptance feels like giving up. And he’s not prepared to do that.
Brianna Kole crossed the country to get away from her old life. As the newest member of the staff at Hathaway House, she’s polite but not overly friendly. The last thing she wants is to get attached and to risk getting hurt again. But, in spite of her reservations, she and Jaden gravitate to each other as the two newcomers to the facility. After that, it isn’t long before Brianna’s questioning her feelings … and his.

The Hathaway House series continues bringing awareness to our wounded vets. This series to me is a slice of their lives, but with a HEA. Even though this is Jaden’s story and Brianna, what really hit me is the uniformity sense in our VA, the unified thought of this is all there is. This continues to bring home the need for change and hope. Even dealing with his wounds Jaden seems to have his sh*t together, he is willing to listen and learn. He does get twisted when his feelings for Brianna are involved, but don’t we all. I have to give kudos to Brianna for asking her the hard questions and to Dale for bringing this to light. I know it happens. Did I confuse you? Read the book. Thank you Dale Mayer and Booksprout for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Jaden and Brianna take us on a journey of personal growth for each character. I adore how Ms. Mayer uses the supporting cast to enhance and grow the budding relationship between each couple . Wonderful book that you will enjoy.

Helping is a Two-Way Street
At Iain’s urging and with his strong recommendation, Jaden transfers from his current VA Rehab to Hathaway House, even though he believes that he’s gone as far as he can in his recovery. Iain’s photos of his success at Hathaway House have piqued Jaden’s interest, so he goes there in the cautious hope that there really might be a brighter future for him. Brianna is a new part-time relief-nurse/part-time information-technologist on the Hathaway House staff, having moved a very long distance to escape a dark time in her past. Originally bonding as fellow newbies at HH, Jaden and Brianna find themselves together also as nurse-patient. As Brianna tries to help Jaden deal with the difficult emotional issues that inhibit his physical progress, it opens a path of help and healing for her at Hathaway House. A beautiful story. This series never fails to provide inspiration.

I love, love, love this series. It makes a person think twice about what is happening to the vets in America. The characters in the book come to Hathaway House for rehabilitation from injuries received while serving in the military. The story not only brings to light the injuries we can see, but also what some of these vets are going through psychologically. I love how the books brings to light some injuries that could be happening to our vets in real-life. Yet, would it not it be wonderful if we had a Hathaway House in every location that is needed for our military?
This story, in this book, grabbed a hold of me from the first chapter and kept my attention through the entire book. It showed how this particular vet worked through his physical injuries and also his psychological injuries. And also how one of the nurses who treats him, works through her own personal problems. They work through their problems together and become closer and the bond between them grows strong. The characters are so likable and the way the book is written has you rooting for these two characters. This is another remarkable book in this series! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Hathaway House is a place for healing, both inside and out.
Jaden follows his wounded brothers in arms on a journey to heal from injuries received in battle. His fight now is with his damaged body and what his future may hold.
Brianna has brought her nursing skills to Hathaway House to help others heal. Her recent relationship has left her unsure of herself, but can she see that she too is wounded and in need of healing?
Jaden and Brianna’s story may also bring awareness and a touch of healing to the reader. It is part of the magic that is Hathaway House.

Jaden decides to give Hathaway House a go after a glowing recommendation from his friend Iain. Once there he meets Brianna who is a nurse who has a lot of emotional self healing that she needs to go through. The two bond immediately. Brianna’s story to me is probably more eclipsing than Jaden’s. I feel like even though has a more difficult road to travel physically to get where he needs to be, hers is one that is probably is equally hard because it requires a person to tear down walls and grow and learn and that is often something people have the hardest time with. It’s a great story and I couldn’t put this book down. Love these books. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
Jaden is astonished to see and hear the progress that his buddy Iain has made since entering Hathaway House. Even though Jaden had been skeptical before, his new goal is to match his buddy’s progress. When Brianna learnt that her fiancé cheated on her with her best friend, Brianna looks for a new start at Hathaway House. Jaden and Brianna clicked from the first day and quickly became friends. Both Jaden and Brianna learn that there is more than physical healing done at Hathaway House. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a sweet romance told from both Jaden’s and Brianna’s point of view. I really like that emotionally healing is done by staff as well as the patients. Their brief introspective moments helped me as well in reflecting on my life. I really like the approach of the treatment that is done at Hathaway and hope there is real life places like this for veterans. I especially like how treated animals are interwoven through this series, especially Hoppers. This is a wonderful and delightful read.
Jayden ready for a new start. If his friend Iain’s treatment worked for him, why not give it a go for himself.
Brianne moving forward having moved states, landed a new job at Hathway which includes her lodging on the grounds things start to look up for her.
Together they face their pasts trying to move forward and trying to see if what they feel is real and if they have a future together.
A great read.
I loved this book so much. Brianna plays a big part in Jaden’s story.
Jaden isn’t as damaged as a lot of the other patients at Hathaway House, but he has some strength building to do, as well as working on his mental health.
Brianna is a nurse with a recent failed relationship. Her fiance and friend both betrayed her, and that is holding her back from moving on to a healthy relationship.
I loved the way the author hit on how traumatic this type of betrayal is to the way your thinking is skewed afterwards.
Outstanding writing, and wonderful characters you’ll fall in love with.
I absolutely love and adore this series. Jadens book is my favorite. Dale Mayer has outdone herself with this beautiful story.
Jaden Hancock still has his two arms and legs even if one leg is badly damaged. He isn’t afraid of hard work, he just can’t see evidence of progress after weeks of therapy. He feels he should accept it as it really is but part of him can’t do that. Nurse Brianna Kole crossed the country to escape her old life and work at Hathaway House. She keeps to herself and is not overly friendly to people to avoid attachment and the risk of hurt in the future. However both her and Jaden gravitate to each other as the two newcomers to the facility. However, it isn’t long before Brianna’s questioning her feelings… and his.
This was a really sweet story detailing the struggle that both of them went through with their own lives as well as the acceptance that they both had moved past the friends’ stage in their relationship. I really enjoyed the sections of their struggles with both physical and mental problems around both themselves and the feeling they might have for each other. However, I did find the conclusion at the end a little abrupt and sudden (even though I have to admit to being thrilled at the same time). Well written, I found it clear and easy to understand most of the time. An enjoyable romance that I found increasingly addictive.
Jaden is another wounded warrior who has a second chance to try something new, to see if Hathaway House can help him more than the VA did. He still has both legs, but one is really bad along with that same side and his back. Brianna is a nurse who has problems of her own. I loved Jaden, but this story seemed like it was more about her than Jaden. HEA
Another magical and spiritual read from this inspiring series. Those injured in such devastating ways are struggling to get just basic use back in limbs damaged they think beyond repair, getting a chance to go to Hathaway House is a wish for many. The way the teams work together and spot different aspects of the patients well being to get over the stumbling blocks their minds have put in place is amazing, it really makes you think about how you deal with even minor injuries like a sprain. Adjusting your walk to spare more pain just as an example. But it isn’t just the patients that find help and peace in this place, even those supposedly healthy sometimes need help. I’m loving this series it’s different and refreshing but also very uplifting, I find myself soaking up the words with relish and any romance is a bonus.
This book is a standalone romance, along the lines of classic stories and gentle romance, a story for all the ages. A wounded warrior, a SEAL trying to find and strengthen and adjust to his new world. He finds Hathaway House and meets a nurse who has her own wounds. Together they find their individual journeys of healing. The characters, many found from earlier books in the series, are warm and caring. Hathaway House, its staff and its animals (yes, the animals help in the healing) create possibilities. Bravo! I am a long fan of Dale Mayers and the Hathaway Healing House.

Jayden is apprehensive when he arrives at Hathaway House. Can anything help him improve his condition. Little does he know what lies ahead. Just how will he react to Brianna who has issues of her own?
This is another beautifully written story full of emotion and entertainment which I thoroughly enjoyed.
