Tess wrote a beautiful story here!
Follow Zane & Honor in their quest to finally connect! Each one likes the other, but Zane is afraid to commit, after all the wedding that almost was! He needs to move on and not be afraid that every woman that comes into his life will leave him behind like his mother and his fiance.
Honor has her own issues, she had a tough life growing up, her own demons to conquer when her past suddenly becomes an issue, but the family she has made in Cliffside will rally by her side, but the most important one, Zane will hurt her.
Follow their story, beautifully written in this book! 5 stars for this one, if you haven’t read the others do it, it’s an amazing series!! Grab this one up!
Of the three books in this series so far, this third one is my favorite! One reason is it delves even more into the lives and pasts of a few of the characters, and I love learning more about them. Another reason is Tess Thompson’s portrayal of Honor. She handles the truth of Honor’s past and how it has shaped her personality with compassion and empathy, and a real understanding. So honest and true! The unexpected twist near the end built the tension and the addition of two new characters warmed my heart. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series!
I enjoyed both Traded and Deleted but Jaded is my favorite Cliffside Bay book to date. It touches on many things. This book gave me the feels in so many ways. Abandonment, rape, Alzheimer’s, personal loss, betrayal … and the heart’s incredible ability to keep fighting, to not give up hope no matter how huge and seemingly unsurmountable the difficulties are that life inevitably tosses in our paths. It’s a story about how a person can be knocked down time and time again, how they can feel defeated and scared, and how they still have the capability of making their dreams come true regardless. It’s a story about how life can be unpredictable, in both good and bad ways, and about how things can work out even if the odds feel helplessly stacked against us.
This book made me cry. Big, fat, ugly tears. But it also gave me an enormous amount of hope. This book was an event. Congratulations, Ms. Thompson. What a beautiful achievement.
Another great read by this author. Zane and Honor have been building a love for each other for longer than they have actually been in love. This is finally their story, with a few twists and turns here and there. I like Zane in the two books before this one so it was wonderful to be able to get into his head and hear his story. It’s not an overly sad one, but he’s had enough of his own pain to add to his troubles. I feel bad for him that love from the people he wanted it from (minus his father) came hard and he had to deal with that harsh reality. But I’m glad that he found his HEA. I also loved the letter from his dad and that he already knew about his sister prior to the letter (you find out about her in Deleted). Honor has always been a wonderful character. I’ll be honest and admit that she hasn’t always been my favorite, but I did enjoy getting her story. She’s a ball buster, and a good one at that. She’s had a lot of pain in her life, pain that no one should have to go through. So I’m glad that she’s finally getting that love that she didn’t think she’d ever get. These two are wonderful together and I’m glad I got into their heads.
Honor and Zane are both desperately in love with each other, but each fears rejection and is afraid to make the first move. After much prodding from all their mutual friends, Zane asks for Honor’s help with a business dinner and their relationship takes off from there.
But this is so much more than a typical love story. Honor has secrets from her past, one threatens her future with Zane, one threatens her life, while another brings love and joy with an offering that is beyond anything she could ever hope for. It’s a difficult time for Zane, too, as he deals with his father’s illness and his mother’s abandonment, as well as his place with the Dogs and how that affects the new business venture he wants to pursue.
Together, these two show that all of life’s obstacles are better conquered together, and their solid united front was wonderful to witness. Their HEA was well-earned and joyously triumphant. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Tess Thompson has once again knocked it out of the park! The continuing story of Cliffside Bay brings to us the lives of Zane and Honor. I don’t usually cry when reading a book but this one had me tearing up. This can be read as a stand alone book but I invite you to read the whole series so you can get to know and fully enjoy the Cliffside Bay family.
This is the third book in the Cliffside Bay series. Although I loved Traded and Deleted, I think Jaded was the absolute best so far!!!
The series is mainly about The Dogs, a group of five friends, and their current life situations and search for love. (If you want to know how they got called The Dogs, you’ll have to read the earlier books in the series!). Although Jaded is a standalone story about Zane and Honor, I strongly suggest reading the books in order. Such well developed characters, that expose themselves more and more in each book. Although advertised as Romance novels, Ms. Thompson’s books are way more than that! Little slices of life in a community that any of us would love to find in the “real” world. Although some bad things do happen, there is little or no explicit sex or violence in this series. I highly recommend all of Ms. Thompson’s books!
Another winner in the Cliffside Bay series!
I absolutely love this series from Tess Thompson! Cliffside Bay is a place you want to visit with characters that feel like real friends. This is the kind of series that Hallmark would turn into a show or movie. This book focuses on the story of Zane and Honor and whether or not they can get over their pride to finally admit they love each other. (spoiler alert – they do!). Even though as a reader you figure out quickly that these two will get together, it’s as if you’ve asked a couple that you met “how did you meet?” and they are telling you the story. You know the end – they are together, but you don’t know all the twists and turns. That is the fun part, and that is the fun of this book. This book, like the others in the series is also clean. There is mystery, humor, sweetness, sadness, and most of all, love. I’m excited for the rest of the series!
I am seriously blown away by this entire series ! They just keep getting better and better! Tess Thompson has a way of making the reader feel like family to this group of friends from Cliffside Bay!
This is Zane and Honor’s story and I have been waiting to get to know these two better ! Two people So right for each other , only they fight it at every turn. This book delved deeper into all lives of those we have met along the way into this series and I love that every book not only has everyone in it but continues everyone’s stories !
This book had so many twists and turns that I was so surprised where it took me and I can’t wait for the next story in this series !
Please do not pass this series up!
Never being one to disappoint, Tess Thompson has written another best selling hit! After finish reading the first two books in this series, I felt sure they could not be beat, but I was proven wrong. It just keeps getting better and is the best written series, hands down, that I have read! The emotional attachment to the characters is absolutely overwhelming. The way that Tess can make you feel each and every emotion is genuinely magical. Be sure to grab your copy of Jaded, so you can share the story of Zane and Honor !
Ahhhh, Zane and Honor. What a wild ride these two are taking! Just when I think I have everything figured out, and “happily ever after” is just around the corner, Tess Thompson throws us a curve ball! You just never know what is coming on the next page of this amazing book.
One of my favorite things about this book is the fact that Tess Thompson doesn’t write perfect characters. They are not all gorgeous and perfect, they are flawed. They have abandonment issues, “I’m not good enough” issues and on and on. They are so human and so like we all are. You become a part of their family by reading through their imperfections and fears and joys. I have come to love Cliffside Bay through these beautifully imperfect people. They speak to me of life and love and all that creates a family. Jaded is also about family, and the fact that family can be the people that love you and surround you with safety and pure joy. Family doesn’t have to be biological. Family is purely love and caring and knowing who is always there for you.
I love this book, and hope that you will love it too. I highly recommend it! Five stars!
When Zane Shaw falls for a girl, he falls hard. But he’s been abandoned by every women he’s ever loved, and is terrified of making a move. He’s infatuated with Honor, especially after the spectacular night they had together, but he feels doomed before their relationship even has a chance to start.
Honor Sullivan has been through more than any person should be, but she’s always picked herself up and gotten through it. She’s successful and loves her career and friends. She’s also had a crush on Zane for years, but feels her deserves better than her . . . she’s broken in ways even her closest friends don’t know about. But, she can’t get him out of her head no matter how uninterested he seems to be.
When Zane and Honor finally work through their own baggage and decide to give a relationship a try, it’s magical! But, the path to their happy ever after won’t be easy and they’ll both need to learn to let their pasts and insecurities go so they can have a brilliant future together.
I swear, The Cliffside Bay series keeps getting better with each book! Tess Thompson has done an amazing job of making each couple’s story unique to them while also interweaving the stories of all five best friends and the women they fall in love with together to create a gorgeous tapestry readers can’t help but to fall in love with!
I’ve been itching for Zane and Honor’s story from book one, and Jaded gave me all the feels! Both Zane and Honor have serious baggage. Zane was abandoned by his mother, had his childhood crush fall in love with his best friend and was left at the altar by his fiance a week before their wedding. It’s no wonder he totally fears commitment.
Honor’s past is completely heartbreaking. I’m not sharing why, because it’s integral to the plot, but you can’t help but to be inspired by her. I was thrilled to see her finally open up to not only Zane but the rest of their friends as well.
Together, Zane and Honor can make each other whole. It’s beautiful and magical and the story Tess has gifted this couple with is truly an amazing read. There are moments of sadness and amazing moments that will leave readers breathless and smiling ear to ear. I can guarantee that their happy ever after isn’t one you see coming but it fits this couple so well you can’t help but be thrilled for them. 5 stars for this fabulous tale of loss, perseverance and love!
Cliffside Bay is quickly becoming a favorite get-away. Tess Thompson creates homey villages and peoples them with easily loved characters. This little town and its characters are wedging themselves in my heart next to Tess Thompson’s other village, the River Valley. This third in the series further introduces, Jackson and Honor. They have been attracted to each other for years, but each holds a memory of past relationships and journeys that haven’t been easy. In this book, the author brings them together to mend the broken past. Honor and Jackson have briefly appeared in the first two books, but this is their story, the letting down of walls, the beauty of trusting, the sweet support of someone to lean on. This reader loved this book, this series – open it and get away from the chaos of the day. Settle in for beautifully managed images, characters and healing of pasts held for too long.
Jaded: Zane and Honor by Tess Thompson is the third book in the Cliffside Bay series. It was a wonderful book and I was once again drawn back to Cliffside Bay. I loved learning more about Zane and Honor, and hearing their story. There were enough unexpected moments in the book to keep me interested and eager to keep reading.
I can’t wait to read more in the Cliffside Bay series! Thank you, Ms. Thompson, for another fabulous book
So far Jaded is my favorite of the series!! I absolutely adore Honor and Zane and how they overcame their own problems and issues to find true love and happiness in each other. I can’t wait to continue catching glimpses of them through the other stories coming.
Tess Thompson has truly out done herself with Zane and honor’s story. This is truly a love story that I can read over and over again. Jaded is book three to the Cliffside Bay series.
Honor is Brody’s assistant and standoffish when it comes to her past. Zane is one of Brody’s best friends and also the owner of the local bar and restaurant The Oar. Honor and Zane have known each other for some years now and due to the past these two had they both harbor abandonment and trust issues. Can Zane and Honor grow to trust each other and let their feelings for each other bloom into something? Both characters are extremely stubborn but when someone from honor’s past comes back Zane and honor finally learn to conquer their past so they can move on to the future together and see where it will take them.
Book three of the Cliffside Bay Series we got to meet Brody’s brother and get to read about Brody and Kara’s wedding. All the men are thick as thieves and are all like an extended family. Where is book four going to take us, what adventures is Tess going to take us on? I truly love reading Tess’s books they are all well-written stories filled with plenty of emotion.
Jaded: Zane and Honor is the third book in the Cliffside Bay Series by Tess Thompson. I have not read the first two and was able to understand what was going on in the story of Zane and Honor. Zane has issues with abandonment and Honor went through the Foster Care system and had traumatic experiences growing up. With the help of The Dogs and their ladies they realize that love is possible. Tess Thompson’s writing had me feeling like I was there in Cliffside Bay. The characters are all interesting. The book is about trust, romance, love, and friendship, with a little mystery. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the first two and the next book in the series. Thank you to Tess Thompson for an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This is the third book in the Cliffside Bay Series by Tess Thompson.
Despite the chemistry that is obvious to everyone, except Zane and Honor, the two are meant to be together forever. No good love story is free of past baggage, and these two have a bunch.
Zane has abandonment issues from since her was born, which were only reinforced when his bride called off their wedding only a few days before the big day and walked away. Since then, Zane pretty much swore of the possibility of love and focused on his bar, “The Oar,” and making sure that his father, Hugh, was being properly taken care of at the Memory Care Facility. Despite his best efforts, he can’t deny that he is madly in love with Honor, even if he won’t allow himself to declare it. He’s simply not good enough for her.
Honor is a smart, sophisticated, beautiful woman with a dark past that she hasn’t shared with the Dogs or the girls. Everyone knows that she has a past, and she doesn’t share it. She was taken from her mother when she was six years old and put into foster care, where bad things happened. And, then when she was eighteen, she was diagnosed with cancer, which left her unable to have children. So, even if Honor wanted to admit that she was madly in love with Zane, she wouldn’t be able to give him a family, so why should she put herself out there and suffer that pain. Zane deserves an unbroken woman, a full woman, certainly not Honor.
BUT, there’s always a but, or else we readers wouldn’t get so engrossed in these novels….but, when Honor’s past threatens to destroy her present, she is forced to reveal her secrets to everyone. When Zane hears that her life is in danger the two FINALLY admit that they love each other (with some prompting from the guys and gals). Determined to keep Honor safe from harm, their relationship blossoms…but not without some unexpected complications. Can their love overcome the complications?
This novel is a roller coaster ride of emotions. The writing is well done, easy to get into and hard to put down. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
I loved this book the characters were fleshed out and believable. This story was devastating to Zane and Honor, and the recovery in their lives was amazing. This story left you feeling the pain with for Honor and everyone in this book. I really liked the characters and felt like they were my friends and wanted to help them. There was suspense, evil and more than one storyline which keeps my interest. Ms. Thompson kept my attention and interested and it was heartbreaking. I can hardly wait to start on the next book in this series. Please keep them coming, Ms. Thompson.
In book 3 of the Cliffside Bay series, Zane Shaw and Honor Sullivan take center stage. We met them in books 1 and 2 and know that they are hesitant to admit their feelings. For a recap – Zane’s mother left when he was a baby and he was raised by his father. Honor was in foster care from age 6 on. Her mother was a drug addict who passed away when Honor was 10. So, neither person trusts the opposite sex. Zane had been engaged to Natalie, but she called the wedding off days before the wedding and ran off with a bridesmaid’s husband. The series cast of characters appears in Jaded and adds to the book. The series involves a group of friends formed from living in Cliffside Bay and college. Zane Shaw is a Cliffside Bay from birth resident. Honor Sullivan is a Cliffside Bay by chance and/or work resident.
In this story, the author deals compassionately about an illness that is becoming more publicized – Alzheimer’s. She also deals with foster care, child abuse, and the power of friendship.
This story has answers to questions from previous books, twists that I did not see coming, and an ending which left me wanting for more after I recovered from a heart-stopping incident. It was an easy read, although I started a character tree to remember who is related to who, whose parent died during the character’s childhood, and parent names. I keep adding to it as I read the other books in this series.
This series has highlighted Brody and Kara, Jackson and Maggie, and now Zane and Honor. I hope we will learn more about Lance, Kyle, Sophie, Violet, and Mary in future books. I cannot forget Janet Mullen and Jon Waller and Flora and Dax either!
