Signing with Brighthouse Records was supposed to be everything we ever wanted—our better life. Our chance at everything we never had but always wanted. All our dreams would finally come true and we were on top of the world. It was our chance at the happiness we never had in life. Our every desire was at our fingertips and the power of that feeling was all consuming. But then it took every dream we … every dream we thought would come true and it slapped us in the face with the cold hard reality.
Dreams were just that…something that floated on the cusp of untouchable, taunting you with every graze of your fingertips before slipping even further away.
Happiness…that feeling is a joke.
In the end it became painfully obvious that each of us would always have each other, but we would forever be alone.
Jaded Hearts will kick off the Loaded Replay series – which will be a series of interconnected standalones. The cast and crew of Jaded Hearts was introduced to us for the first time briefly in Unexpected Fate. You do not need to read that book in order to fully enjoy Jaded Hearts. Happy reading!

New Harper Sloan book you say? Don’t mind if I do! I love me a good rock star book. I was super jazzed when I heard she was coming out with one. I can say with all honesty, I really enjoyed it! I thought all the characters where pretty great. I was a little back and forth on Wrenlee on a part or two, but I just went with it didn’t let it take away my enjoyment of the story. I’m very much looking forward to the next book about Jamison. He was one of my favs. Can’t wait to see what type of shenanigans he’s going to get in to!
This was my most recent read and I must say, if it is by Harper Sloan it is always amazing!! I laugh, I cry, I get angry, you name it and I have felt it reading her books. Have yet to be disappointed by anything she had written.
I love Sloan’s writing and this book did not disappoint! I am also really glad this is part of a series! I was familiar with Chance through the Hope Town series and was not surprised he was having issues after everything that happened. I was glad when he fit perfectly into Wrenlee’s life. Wrenlee had a pretty crappy childhood but between her brother and bandmates they tried to make the best of everything. This was a great feel good story. I am excited to see what is in store next!
Wren may pretend to be bad***, but deep down she can be a delicate flower about things, “you’re telling me that they all heard us having sex?” He nods and has the nerve to twitch those devil lips of his into a small smirk. “This is not funny,” I spit out.” I really liked Chance he had a way with words, “I like it,” he confesses. “Just in case it matters, when you call me that ridiculous nickname, it goes straight to my ***k. So, I promise that’s the only hardship I feel.” I have to say my favorite scene isn’t one with Wren and Chance, well I mean they’re in the scene but it was Jamison that made me giggle, “his narrowed eyes snap in my direction. “I would never joke about a Pikachu, Wrenlee Davenport. How dare you.” He grabs the whole box of pizza, stands from the table with his ***k dangling in all our faces, and stomps out of the room.” I seriously can’t wait for his book, I loved this one but Jamison has stolen my heart
Once gain Harper Sloan has shown everyone exactly why her readers love her books!!! This books is full of laughter, sexiness, and just enough danger to keep her reader wondering what’s going to happen next! As always, with this author, you are pulled right into the story and in no time at all you are in love with all the main characters.
We first met Chance back in Unexpected Fate, and if you are anything like me you’ve been looking forward to his story ever since. He’s a slightly broken, oh so sexy member of the Corps Security team who is brought in when threats are made against Wrenlee Davenport, the sexy, snarky, somewhat jaded lead singer of the up and coming band, Loaded Replay. And he shows us what he’s made of right from the start.
This is Chance and Wren’s story and it is every bit as good as any book Harper Sloan has written. And I loved every word. Can’t wait for more in this new series!!!
There is so much to love about Harper Sloan books. I really enjoyed Jaded Hearts. It was sweet and funny. And how can you not love a rockstar romance. Wrenlee is great and I love that she is the lead singer of Loaded Replay. She is sweet and funny, but also has insecurities from past relations that have jaded her. I also really loved Chance and how well he integrated into this close-knit family.
The writing is great and I read this book so fast. The romance progressed pretty fast, but it didn’t really bother me. I think Wrenlee and Chance were perfect for each other. I love the band and what a close relationship they have. They’re family. The bit of suspense was interesting too even if it was way underplayed. I still really loved this book and I hope to read about more members of the band.
Jaded Hearts is book 1 in Loaded Replay series and this is Chance and Wrenlee’s story. My first reaction is “What a way to start a new series” I was hooked from page one and I loved it. If you have read the Hope Town Series you will recognise Chance who was Cohens roommate and friend in Unexpected Fate.
In Jaded Hearts we get to meet Wrenlee and the other band members and we follow them on tour. The band members decide Wrenlee needs a bodyguard and they hire Chance to watch over her. What starts off as a business arrangement soon becomes so much more and it really isn’t surprising as the chemistry between these two is off the charts…..
Harper Sloan has given us another fantastic read this time in the world of rockers. This book was a breath of fresh air it was great to read a book where people meet and actually liked each other, no drama in the romance side just a hot passionate story that left me wanting more from Loaded Replay.
5 Star review of Jaded Hearts (Loaded Replay #1) by Harper Sloan
Where do I start? Harper Sloan had me engrossed from the first to the last page. I loved this book and what a great way to start off a new series.
Since I heard about this book I have been looking forward to reading it. I was intrigued by Chance when he was first introduced in the Hope Town series as Cohen’s room mate and I was excited to see what story Ms. Sloan had in store for him; I wasn’t disappointed.
Wrenlee (Wren) Davenport is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands around, Loaded Replay and is slowly but surely becoming more and more disillusioned with the life she is leading. Overcoming a difficult and hard childhood the 4 friends have created a successful career in the music business, but for Wren she is dissatisfied.
When threats to Wren become more and more concerning, the band members (including her twin brother Wes) are determined to keep her safe and hire private bodyguards instead of using the ones that their record company supplies. This is where, Chance Nash comes in, he is a member of Corps Security and is hired to head the team to protect the band and to be Wren’s personal bodyguard.
Chance fell for Wren 3 years before he met her after taking Dani to a concert when Cohen was overseas, there was just something about her that got to him, however when he begins his job he is determined to keep his feelings buried, but he didn’t count on the full force of hurricane Wren.
From the moment Wren and Chance meet the sparks fly and their attraction sizzles. It wasn’t only the sexual tension and the chemistry between Wren and Chance that had me so riveted (and le t me say there is plenty of hot and heavy scenes) but their obvious camaraderie and banter towards each other too. These two were just made for each other.
Jaded Hearts is about a family, not all related by blood, but family none the less. I loved how much they cared and supported each other; they reminded me of the Four Musketeers, one for all and all for one.
Both Chance and Wren have baggage, can they work through their pasts and move along a path of happiness together? Can Chance keep Wren safe from the threats or will history repeat itself? You’ll just have to take a chance (pun intended) and read this book for yourself.
There was a great deal of humour throughout this book between all the members of the band and I think that really made this a great read. I cannot wait to read the other band members stories.
Let’s be honest here, anything Harper Sloan writes is nothing short from Ah-Mazing. This book is no exception to that rule.
Jaded Hearts primarily focuses on the love and connection between Chance and Wren. A story that is equally hot, intense, and sexy. But there’s more. While Jaded Hearts sets the platform to a new series, it gives the reader a glimpse of an amazing cast of future characters. Loaded Replay is more than just a musical, sensational band. Loaded Replay is a band that bonds through the love of music as well as their love for one another. A band that is more family than friends. A relationship that is a instrumental part of the story.
Jaded Hearts will leave you wanting more. No, it’s not a cliffhanger. The story is so good you’re going to want more… of Loaded Replay.
