But he’s my ruination.

DENISE’S DREAMY REVIEW
Siobhan Davis’ Ryderville series is one of my absolute favorites by her! I am OBSESSED with the books and characters! So once I found out she was writing a story for Jackson, I could hardly wait!
Ever since having read about Jackson in the first three books in this series, I couldn’t wait to see who he’d end up with! And let me tell you, I wasn’t at all disappointed in the choice, Vanessa.
I enjoyed how these two came together. I loved how Vanessa held her own and showed her resilience and strength! I loved how Jackson was able to be vulnerable and finally found someone he could confide in! These two were definitely meant for each other!
As always, Davis blew me away with her books!! These books are definitely the ones where you have to experience them for yourself!
Five dreamy stars:
Jackson is the fourth book in the Rydeville series. This book can be read as a standalone as it explains all characters it comes to contact with, however I read the first three books before I read this book and found that more enjoyable. This book is about Jackson and Vanessa (Nessa). This book is told from duel points of view which is my favorite writing style. It lets you know what both characters are thinking and feeling.
Jackson was one of my favorite characters in the first three books. He was always there to have a good time. However in this book you discover he has his own secrets and wants pay back for what happened to his sister. He wants to go after the man involved, but the man involved is in hiding, so he goes after the next best target. His daughter Vanessa.
Vanessa is just trying to get through life. She has had a rough upbringing. Her stepfather kicked her out of the house once she turned 18 and she’s still trying to protect her siblings from a distance. Vanessa has never met or even heard of her father and older brother.
Jackson makes Vanessa fall for him over the summer to try to get intel from her, not realizing she doesn’t know anything going on. Jackson feels she’s playing him and gets really angry and wants to make her life hell, not realizing she has already been there and back. Protective Jackson is my new favorite. I liked his funny stoner days, but I think I like protective Jackson much better. Can Vanessa forgive Jackson for how he treated her? Can she trust him again?
I really loved this book and can not wait for Sawyer’s story. There was a snippit in the back of the book for a preview of Sawyer.
** I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I couldn’t wait to read this Book, its angsty dark drama at its best !!!
Jackson is a man on a mission, determined to bring down the man that broke his sister. He knows without a doubt that Vanessa is the person that can lead him to his goal !!!
Plan on !!!
Vanessa had let a brutally abused life, now out on her own her only goal is to work hard and earn enough money to survive and at the same time save her little sister and brother from the montsters clutches!!
Life seems to become just to good to be true when Jackson starts paying her attention and actually wants to date her. Happiness is never something she expected!!
Not all plans go the way you want them to right?
Oh holly hell fire, this book had my head all over the place, i loved Jackson, i hated his plan or did I? I honestly wanted nothing more than to see the evil culprit suffer, in all the deviant ways Jackson dreamed!!!
I was so consumed by this book that i just didn’t see time pass, and i devoured every little thing, my emotions were on alert the hole time and my heart was almost out of my chest a few times!! I can tell you there were plenty of OMG moments and more than a few times i was screaching at the author “you can’t do this to them!!” Once again those boys (men) had each others backs!!
I really wanted to give this book 5 stars but for one blunder, Yes i know its fiction, but if you are going to use REAL Places at least check the facts or a map, i was disappointed that from an author of this stature, something so simple got through the hoops, Lanzarote is not an island off the coast of Spain!! Yes it is one of the Canary Islands (Spanish Sovereignty) which are NOT in the Mediterranian Sea, but are in the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Morroco, making it a whole lot closer to Africa than Spain. But other than that a fabulous Read !!
I’ve been waiting for this book since the conclusion of book 3, because I’ve loved Jackson from the beginning (of the series) and I’m SO excited that he has his own story now! I love him and this book so much!
Jackson is wow. He and his family is apart of the elite. And she is just a normal girl who went to their school. She is tossed out of her mother’s and step fathers house. This book is so good it will bring you into the book. I loved it
Jackson & Nessa’s story is one of my favorites out of the Rydeville Elite world. It’s all of everything I lobe in books, rolled into one deliciously wicked book!
Jackson is finally clear headed and looking to avenge his sister’s death. Nessa is coming into her own as a young woman while struggling with an abusive past. They’ve both been through so much since they last saw each other. So when Jackson realizes Nessa is not the outta control, clingy party girl she used to be, he starts to catch feelings.
I loved the little glimpses into the other characters we’ve read about in other Rydeville books, but this is a standalone and does not need to read with the series (though I 100% reccomend reading all of them!)
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book, then read it again with Kindle Unlimited!
“ ’ .”
And that ladies and gentlemen sums up why I love Jackson Lauder so damn much. I’ve been waiting for this book for what feels like an eternity and Siobhan Davis didn’t disappoint.
Jackson is every bit the jackass in this story that he is in every other book of this series and like usual I was all the way there for it. He’s so freaking adorable (even when..ok especially when he’s being a major asshole) I seriously can’t even. I really like Nessa as well, that poor girl had been through so much and she never let it break her. Her and Jackson were so perfect for each other. Also, major fist bump to Siobhan for exacting revenge on all the assholes from this series(although some scenes were a little bit cringey lol)
When Vanessa Breen turned 18 she was kicked out of her house buy her step-father, Aaron, and she promised to go as long as Aaron stayed away from her sister, Kayleigh. Vanessa endured so much at Aaron hands and didn’t want Kayleigh to go through the same. Then she meets a guy who appears to be her savior but soon her heart learns otherwise.
Jackson Lauder is still trying to cope with the suicide of his sister, Dani, and he vows to take down the man responsible for her death. When he can’t find him he decides to use his daughter to get to him knowing she may lead him to the prize.
Yet nothing is ever black or white and soon both Jackson and Dani discover how far some will go to take what they believe is theirs.
OMG – this book was so incredible and I didn’t want to put it down!
My heart was broken from the first moment I met Vanessa and realized everything that she had gone through at home. It was so heartbreaking and I understood why she wanted to do everything in her power to save her sister from the same events that she had gone through. Vanessa had made her own mistakes in her life and I understood why she had gone through a rough patch as a way of rebelling with what had happened at home.
I both loved and hated Jackson at the same time. I got why he wanted revenge after Dani’s death but I hated what he was doing to Vanessa after everything she had gone through that he had no idea about. Yet I also knew that this was so much bigger than I could have imagined and this was the first book I have read in this series so I didn’t have as much back story as I would have liked.
There was so much chemistry between Jackson and Vanessa but Jackson was caught in a difficult place as he wanted revenge so bad but he was also realizing how much he cared about Vanessa. There were so many times I wanted to strangle Jackson for how he treated Vanessa but I was glad that she was able to make a close friend in Abby.
My mouth absolutely dropped when Vanessa meets someone and the next events that occured. I was blown away and so thankful when others showed up. I was a little surprised at Vanessa’s reaction when she learns the truth about everything but I got why she was so upset.
I was happy with the events that were done to protect Vanessa and I was so mad when certain people were still able to get to her. I was glad with what happened to the next person but there is still one guy out there that needs to be taken care of!
I loved that Jackson and Vanessa were able to visit Kevin Kennedy and Selena and their sanctuary and I hope we get more soon!
Jackson Lauder, the boy I fell in love with from the beginning of ryderville high saga, the boy with his blond hair and blue eyes that can melt your heart and his cocky, man whore attitude that just simmered off the pages is not so superficial. His lost in pain and broken and what you will uncover is a lot of carried guilt and anger.
Jackson never really moved on from his sisters death, he never had closure so his life goal was to make those who killed her suffer in his vengeance. But the person who was responsible is on the run and the only way to get to him is to go through a pawn he can use as bait and her name is Vanessa.
Vanessa is a spitfire herself, however her cruel stepfather kicks her out and she must grow up fast and make a new life fir herself, far away from her wild, drug and alcohol hazed past. What she didn’t expect was to start a relationship with Jackson himself, but we know it’s all a ploy but what Siobhan does best is leave you guessing with twists and turns to the very end.
There are troubling themes that will hurt but if you have read the Ryderville series there is nothing Siobhan won’t tackle with her mad writing skills.
Epic, Emotional, Intense!
This story is dark and delicious! I love the amount of vulnerability and strength these characters show. The dimensions of this world are too notch and the dynamics of this group of friends is gripping. The story holds you from page one. As much as I love Jackson and Vanessa it was great to see the rest of the cast. I can’t wait a year for the next book! I need more! This book is not a cliffhanger but the things going on in the background have me intrigued. This book definitely needs all kinds of warnings! But if you are 5 book into the series you already know about the Elite. Definitely recommend!
Where do I even begin with this book? Well, I have loved Jackson forever and I knew he had a mysterious and dark past and I knew I wanted to know more about him and this book DID NOT disappoint me at all.
The more you get to know Jackson the more you want to know him, the more you want to get under his skin and never, never leave him alone, because once you know the real Jackson? You will be ruined for life, the bad boy Jackson? Yeah, he is nothing compared to this Jackson you are about to get to know, this one? He is even more hot, more sexy and more loveable than all the Jacksons you have in your head right now. So, if you think you are already know Jackson from all the previous books? Buckle up, because you are about to go on another crazy Siobhan Davis ride. And it’s amazing one for sure. Not giving much away, because the best way to enjoy this book is going blind, but be ready to finally find out all about Jackson’s past and all about his family and what happened to them and what made Jackson, Jackson. And be ready, because in this book, our boy is ready to bring everyone down that has caused him all his pain. And that means getting close to Vanessa, a girl he doesn’t care to bring it down, or so he thinks.
And now we meet Vanessa, and OMG, OMG, OMG. I loved Vanessa, I felt for this girl sooo much. She is the girl that you will root when you don’t want to root for. And she is the girl that will make you question Jackson’s decisions and hate him when you love him to death at the same time. And be ready, because you will be right there, there where you ask? There, in the middle of both Vanessa and Jackson, you will be the middle person, because you will just have no choice, because this book will play with your head and your heart like there’s no tomorrow. These two and so broken and need to mend themselves in order to be together, the question is will the be able to do it together? Will they destroy themselves on the way? Will they ask for help?
So much happens and you will hate and love everything at the same time. So, buckle up people and enjoy this crazy ride because you will be amazed.
5 out of 5 stars.
Jackson is the 5th book in the Rydeville Elite series. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other 4 first. Jackson was my favorite character the moment he was introduced in book 1. He has always been the funny, weed smoking, go with the flow guy. You can tell there is darkness in him, but you never really get the full story until now. This book was everything and so much more than I ever thought possible. Jackson has a completely different side to him we haven’t seen before. He wants revenge for his sisters death and one way to do that is through a girl. Enter Vanessa. She is amazing. I didn’t think I’d relate to her character in the beginning, but my mind was changed quickly. Jackson starts pursuing Nessa in hopes of getting information from her. What starts as fake feelings for him changes in the blink of an eye. Jackson is fierce, protective, and so sweet. Don’t worry he’s still the cocky ahole we all feel in love with though! Jackson and Nessa’s story is one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. She is an incredible heroine. The poor girl has been through so much in her short life. She’s a little broken but sooo strong also. All she wants is to be loved and protected. She fell for Jackson quickly (I mean who wouldn’t), but she doesn’t put up with his BS. Once Jackson faces his feelings and gives his all to Nessa it is beautiful. I love that we got more glimpses of the rest of the gang also. I can’t wait for Sawyer’s book next!
Jackson is an incredibly powerful, hot, fantastic read. I love these characters. Such a wild ride. This author never disappoints.
I have been waiting for Jackson’s story. I fell in love with him in the first three Rydeville books and couldn’t wait for his story. And Siobhan did not disappoint at all! Jackson had it all. Steam, angst, heartbreak, redemption, and love. I loved seeing the growth Jackson had and how he grew even more in this story. His character has so much depth. Siobhan has a way of writing these characters as real-life people. People you know or see walking down the street. The way she is able to bring you into their world is beyond amazing.
Nessa…..I can’t tell you how much I loved her! She is so strong. Strong in a way not many can see or understand. You get to see how far she has come and how much she loves her siblings. The fact she will do anything to protect them and keep them safe. Safe in ways no one was ever able to keep her safe. Nessa has gone through what so many others have been through and was able to become this shining star for us. She showed how you can overcome horrors that are committed against you and rise above it all to be whom you were meant to be.
I loved Jackson and Nessa together. Their road to happiness was not easy. But rather paved with heartbreak, betrayal, and devastation. But this is their story. Even though it is rocky, it is worth it all in the end.
Jackson (Rydeville Elite #5) by Siobhan Davis was an emotional 5 star read.
Wow, where to start with Jackson. I was once again pulled right in by the authors writing and I couldn’t put it down.
Vanessa, man where to start with this poor girl. She has a past of alcohol and drugs that helped her numb the pain and forget. The way she was forced out of her home by her stepmonster and to learn about the things that happened to her broke my heart. Determined to make a life for herself and move forward from the past, she gets a job and is determined to make money for school.
Jackson, boy this man outraged me at times. He is now sober and wants revenge for the death of his sister and he sets his sights on the one person he thinks will help him get what he wants, Vanessa.
Vanessa has a past that Jackson is well aware of, he turns up the charm and convinces Van to go out with him. The more time they spend together the closer they get, can Jackson keep his heart out of it?
Overall this read tore my heart out at times. I had a huge love and hate for Jackson. I loved Van and all I wanted for her was true happiness. All of the secondary characters were great, her mother ticked me off and her stepmonster was despicable. If you’re looking for great enemies to lovers read this is definitely the one for you. I can’t wait to read more from Siobhan, she has quickly become one of my top favorite authors to read. 1-click and get started today.

Sooooo I think Jackson might be my favorite so far of the Rydeville Elite series! From the beginning I’ve wanted to know Jackson’s deal and Siobhan is finally giving it to us. You won’t regret reading this one! I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Jackson has seemed to be an enigma to me since this series started. He plays out in the first several books as a guy who is constantly high and breezing through life. I was excited to read this book to delve deeper into Jackson and his life.
Jackson and Vanessa “Nessa” have moved in similar social circles growing up and his disdain for her is shown at their first meeting. Spoiled rich girl has taken a big fall but he has no idea of the events leading up to her big fall.
Jackson continued to show some of his arrogant tendencies over into this novel but I found the resolution and growth of his character made this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book.
This story was a weird one for me and I would say a close 3.5 to 4 stars for me…
I really did not like Part I of Jackson and thought S.D. could have written it a lot better as their were a lot of unnecessary parts and turned me off… But I kept on readying, as I really love S.D. style of writing.
Part II was a lot better and the character interactions flowed but again I found unnecessary parts did not need to be in the story. Right towards the end, their was a chapter that changed the outlook of the of story for me. I cannot remember the chapter. Overall I didn’t mind Jackson but again S.D. has written better.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The Rydeville world is black hole dark and Siobhan Davis takes readers in with no fear of the secrets and sinister machinations she uncovers in book five of her Rydeville High Elite series, Jackson!
One of the things you can expect when reading this author is multi dimensional characters that are hard to label. Jackson was the perfect example of this, on one page he was the ultimate villain and on the next he was an incredible swoon worthy champion. His transition from charming bad boy sidekick to leading man was seamless and Jackson more than carried his spotlight. Vanessa’s story while heartbreaking was empowering with the strength she displayed continuously even in her weakness moments. There was no contest that this heroine earned that title as she battled and overcame continuous abuses and hurdles. No matter what angle it came from the chemistry between Jackson and Vanessa was potent. The ambiguity of this couple’s relationship kept this work restless and anticipatory keeping everyone captivated, it was a page-turner. The secondary cast of this series continued to evolve and contribute nicely to this series.
Siobhan Davis manages to create unique stories that she somehow joins on common territory resulting in complex works with sensational developments. This author knows how to write stories that are well put together as she keeps the theories flowing and doles out information strategically. She is the type of writer who can keep a story going endlessly with her ability to create wonderful plot twists that can be far fetched and believable at the same time. Jackson will keep reader’s attention to the very end!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While this work can be read as a stand alone, for an enhanced overall reading experience reading the previous books in the Rydeville Elite series is suggested*
The Elites of Rydeville have been fairly quiet since the big blowup at the presidential election last year when the leadership either went to jail or are on the run. Their evil deeds will always be felt in the bodies, minds and hearts of those they have tried to destroy. Jackson Lauder, the son of an original elite, has become an entirely different person in the last couple of years. His fellow elites don’t even recognize him as the surly, uncommunicative person he has become. He hasn’t been the same since his sister, Dani, jumped from the roof to her death, but now he has a plan for revenge. Vanessa was that girl in high school who was the center of attention, but not in a good way. She had been through unspeakable experiences and had rightfully fallen apart, almost to a breakdown. But, now she has a new attitude and is slowly building her life back to something she can enjoy with a light heart. Jackson is positive that she knows something about what happened to his sister and he holds her responsible for being involved. If he accomplishes nothing else, he’s going to rip her apart and make her hurt just as much as he’s hurting. Is he for real? Is this the same Jackson that we’ve come to know? Fortunately for Nessa, she has a friend in Hunt. Sawyer Hunt is Jackson’s best friend and he’s the one with the conscience, but Jackson isn’t listening. Jackson’s plan unfolds just the way he’d planned it, but he’s starting to feel that he’s becoming the jerk he never wanted to be. It’s heartbreaking to see how awful he is to her and, yet, it’s so apparent that he’s falling in love with her. There were times that I could barely tolerate him, especially when he’s flaunting other women in her face. With the help of all of his friends, he finds it in himself to be honest with his heart and to take the chance that Vanessa deserves. The complementary plot lines involving the treachery of every one of Nessa’s family, except the children, and insights into the past make the story even richer. Siobhan Davis writes with eloquence and fluency with characters that leave a lasting impression on your heart.
