The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn’t notice until it was far too late.
Vanessa:The devil doesn’t always wear an evil mask.Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.I thought he was my savior. But he’s my ruination. And he’s … thought he was my savior.
But he’s my ruination.
And he’s just taken a machete to my heart.
Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And I’m out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except he’s not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when I’m done with Vanessa, she’ll wish she was dead.
An interconnected standalone dark romance set in the Rydeville Elite world. Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. Some scenes may be triggering. Full length, 126k word, novel.

Jackson is one of my favorite characters from the Rydeville world. Sooooo thrilled to finally have my hands on Lauder. I highly recommend you read the other stories in the Rydeville Elite series. Jackson makes many appearances you don’t want to miss! After everything he has been through in the series Jackson is now focused on seeking revenge for his sister’s death. The only link he has to finding his sister’s killer is through his daughter Nessa, Jackson hopes she will be what leads him to her father. Nessa has by no means have had a easy life. But she trying to turn over a new leaf until she runs in Jackson Lauder. She has always had a thing for Jackson falls right into Jackson’s clutches as he has more devious plans in mind. This was a angsty read that I literally read in one sitting. I loved every second of Jackson getting his happy ending! Thank you Siobahn for finally bringing us Jackson. My new #1. Can not wait to read more!
Jackson is a story about our lover boy and how he fights his demons and finds love in an unlikely place. If you read the previous books Jackson was depicted as the stoned out charmer of the group but loved and protected those he loves fiercely. When he finds out who actually kidnapped his sister all those years ago he cleans up his act and plans his revenge. Armed with information he uses Vanessa to gain an advantage. Unbeknownst to Jackson is that Vanessa has changed since the early days. Vanessa is the girl we all thought as clingy and looking for companionship in the wrong places. When she is kicked out of her home she finds a way to survive and enters Jackson to turn her world upside down. Both characters are fighting demons we can’t even begin to understand. What they find in one another is something amazing. Happiness always comes at a price that Jackson and Vanessa have no idea what kind of danger is lurking.
When I found out Jackson was getting a book I was a little skeptical because we already knew who he would end up with from the previous books in the series. I have to say that this book went way beyond my expectations. I love Jackson and his book was definitely better than Charlie’s. I did not know his character could be so strong minded and alpha it was a great characterization. Vanessa was not such a big character to me in the previous books to where I sort of forgotten about her. In this story though we find all of what she has been going through in her life to make her the woman she becomes. She has survived some many horrific things but all she wanted was someone to show her love and protections. Jackson was made for her and she for him. I love their chemistry and playfulness because their relationship read so effortless. I still think Abby and Kai are the best couple but Jackson and Vanessa can give them a run. This is one of favorite of the series along with the first three books. I love seeing all the characters find love and take back their lives. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and see what Sawyer is going to get into.
*I read an ARC and this is my honest review*
Jackson was sooooo good, I loved him in cruel intentions but it was amazing getting to see another side of him and seeing how fierce he loves. This book did not disappoint and will draw you in and make you feel raw with the heartbreakingly beautiful story!
So. Let start off and say I was super excited for this book to come out. I loved how it went in through the background of Vanessa and Jackson. I loved them together but when he was playing her it turned me off on Jackson because I saw a side of him I didn’t like. But when all the truth came out he redeemed himself. Some of the revaluations that was revealed complex through me through a loop. Hands down if you have not read that book or started this series yet you should start now you will not be disappointed
I LOVE Jackson Lauder. Out of all the boys in the Rydeville Elite series he is my favorite. Jackson is book five in the series and what a book it is. This is a stand-alone book, but it helps if you read the other four books first. Oh, how the drama continues with that all-powerful elite group. Davis writes the best drama/action/romance/bully stories EVER!!!!! I literally couldn’t put this book down. One day folks, I read it in one day, stayed up past my bedtime and everything. Highly recommend, you read this book as soon as it comes out, you will not be disappointed. 5-laps around the campus track for Jackson by Siobhan Davis.
Jackson Lauder has been out of control since the death of his sister. Jackson has finally gotten in the right head space and now it’s time for revenge. With a little help from his friends, Jackson plans to take down the man responsible for Dani’s death. Vanessa Breen has been nothing but trouble with a capital T. Now out on her own she has gotten her life on track and is not necessarily happy but content with how her life is, she has a roof over her head, she has a job and she is sober. But life has a way of sneaking up on you when you least it expect it and Nessa was surprised when she sees Jackson and Sawyer, two boys from her troubled past. Jackson was always cruel to Nessa and she is suspicious of him from the minute he asks her out. Nessa doesn’t know that there are other people out there that can hurt her a lot more than Jackson and she really doesn’t know he might be the only one who can save her.
TOTAL RATING:
ARC PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
Jackson completely blew my mind!!! Siobhan davis swooped in , and left me as a mess of tears and laughter by the end of this book!!
From the moment I read the Rydeville elite series by Siobhan Davis, I have been going crazy to read Jackson’s story. The way he portrayed himself in the Rydeville series just made me so curios about his story.
And the author sure did not disappoint me. Jackson’s story was absolutely perfect and then some! The way the author wrote the story was just amazing! both Vanessa and Jackson were perfect for reach other in more ways than one.
Both of them had their weaknesses and strength and fit each other completely.
There were parts in the book were I wanted to slap some sense into Jackson. He was an even bigger asshole than Kai in the Rydeville trilogy and that is saying something!!! if only he had talked to Vanessa about the matter, so much pain could have been avoided.
Then there was Vanessa. God!! she went through so much!! the horrors of her past were something, no one should experience! and then even after so much pain , she was such an honest an humble person. Her kindness and strength were something to aspire a lot of people out there who survived horrors like her.
We also got to meet the Kennedys in this book, and all of them played their part amazingly. I absolutely loved the scenes in which they made appearance!
I was so happy that in the end everything worked out for the best and the ending of this book was amazing.
Jackson is a ride filled with so much pain and suffering, but the author has done an amazing job of countering those feelings with the complete happy ending and those numerous happy scenes, that had tears forming in my eyes. One of my favorite parts of the book , were to see Jackson grovelling. Vanessa sure gave him a hard time and him, being so stubborn, didn’t give up on her! his grovelling was something I was looking forward too, because he certainly took the gold medal of the most asshole guy the Siobhan’s rydeville world!!!!
This book was one of my most anticipated story and I certainly enjoyed it a lot!!! It is recommended to all the bully romance lovers, with lots of pain and angst, with a complete major jackass hero and a heroine who makes him grovel for it!!
Omfg! I just literally finished this book at 12:30 at night and I’m still reeling from it! This series just keeps getting better and better! Jackson and Vanessa are two people who have endured so much in their young life. Vanessa is such a strong character and what she has went through just made me sick. The reason being that there are so many young women that have endured what she has and has never recovered, case in point, Jackson’s sister Dani. It’s just tragic! I started this book today and I could not put it down, although I admit I had to keep taking a break because of THE FEELS! You get emotionally involved in this story and it breaks your heart but I trusted Siobhan, the author, to let their story unfold the way it was meant to. I am never disappointed and I certainly wasn’t this t8me either. Jackson has ulterior motives when he first met Vanessa and he was a first class jerk and that’s putting it mildly. Vanessa is just trying to live her life on her own when she gets involved with Jackson and their story takes off. With plenty of sexy, steamy times, angst, emotional roller coaster ride this story has it all. You also get to see some beloved characters from Siobhan’s other books but you’ll have to read it to find out who. Open your mind, your heart, prepare yourself and dive in. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Keep a few tissues handy just in case… I read a complimentary copy of this book
She did it again! I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down! I started out loving Jackson from the prior books. This book had me loving him then hating him then loving him again. The things that Vanessa has gone through in her life really just made me mad because I absolutely loved her! I’m so glad that there was some justice for many people in this book and I honestly can’t wait for what is next. I also love how we get to see a bit of the Kennedy family in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
5 Stars!!!!
This book was PHENOMENAL!!! Siobhan is the queen of romance and drama! Every one of her books is even better than the last! Jackson and Nessa’s story was full of heat, heartbreak, and healing. I love the cameos and crossovers and am SO excited for Sawyer’s book!!!!!!
Jackson has been one of my favorite characters since the Rydeville series began and oooohhhhh…..swoon…slap…swoon again. Yes, Jackson is all that and a bag of chips.
Interconnected with the prior Rydeville books, Jackson weaves in and out of the other timelines, so reading the prior books will certainly enhance your experience, but anytime spent with Jackson Lauder is an experience all on its own, so if this is your first time joining the gang enjoy!
Jackson has spent the last year helping his best friend, Kai Anderson, not only getting his girl, Abby, but also avenging a whole mess of things that have been going down in Rydeville with the Elite. (The Elite are a sick group of people who run all kinds of illegal activities). Now Jackson is focused on seeking revenge for his sister’s death, also at the hands at one of the Elites, but the man has escaped from the country without a trace. The only link they have is to his daughter, Vanessa, in hope that if she is contacted by him that she will be the lead Jackson needs to finally avenge his sister. He knows Vanessa from his childhood and she was always like a puppy. She will be perfect for his plan to lure her in and get what he needs without getting attached. Or so he believes.
Nessa hasn’t had an easy life. Kicked out of her home by her step-father at the age of eighteen, used and abused at an early age, clean and sober now after a life she isn’t proud to remember, but she is trying to turn things around, that is until she runs into Jackson Lauder. His smooth talking charm works wonders on her fragile ego, making her feel treasured for once in her life, which seems to work right into his plans. Nessa never seems to catch a break, falling into the hands of the wrong people, making wrong choices. Perhaps that is her destiny afterall.
I’m not going to lie, there will be times that you will love Jackson to the moon and back. Then you will want to dig a hole and bury him in it. Then just like Siobhan does, you know, her glory shines ultimately bright…when she redeems her heros so well that you jump up from the couch to go get that shovel to help dig the man out of his own grave because redemption is glorious when they do it well and whooooo…Jackson really does it well.
Jackson and Nessa are going to mess you up over and over. Their story has layers and each layer will add a new emotion to the growing storyline. For readers of the series you will get to catch up with the other characters and there are plenty of opportunities to get glimpses into the future as well. There are also times in this story that will make you cry and possibly cringe, but it is still so good I loved every moment of Jackson finding his happy ending.
Wow. That about sums up the words that I have for Jackson. This book is explosive and full of twists and turns that I never saw coming. Just when I would think I had something figured out, it was like a bomb would be dropped and blew me out of the water! Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions with this one, but trust that Siobhan never disappoints!
I swear with each book Siobhan just gets better and better and seriously leaves me begging for more. From beginning to end Jackson and Vanessa’s story had my captivated. I couldn’t put this one down, I had to know what was going to happen. I’ve loved Jackson from the start, so to finally get his story and learn more about him was exactly what I needed. I loved that we got to catch up with the Rydeville gang, and there are some fun surprises that Siobhan drops in too!!
I was really looking forward to this book because I loved Jackson in the first three books. The whole Rydeville Elite series is a must read for me & it a series I will continue to reread!
The book was addictive from the beginning to the end as always in books by siobhan Davis and she didn’t disappoint with the twists, hurt, angst and love. At points in this book I did not like Jackson & that took me by surprise but I am glad I loved him again in the end!
I loved Abby and Kai even more in this book and I am even more excited for Drew story more than any of them. I obviously want Sawyer story too but I am a little worried for this one as love Xavier however I trust Siobhan and I will be reading as soon as realised!!
Second time at reviewing this book as this one an audio and wow for the audio!
Whoo!!! Jackson was HAWT! This dark romance was twisted. Just when you think the Elite can’t get any worse or that Christian Montgomery can’t get any worse we are proven wrong over and over. Vanessa was so strong and her and Jackson really changed their ways. But Jackson really pissed me off although I understand grief makes you see things differently than what they really are but GAH! I wanted to slap him a time or ten! Knock some sense into him. But the HEA was everything! Love this series!!!
Swoon! I love this series so much and this did not disappoint!
Absolutely loved this book! I was so happy to have read more about Jackson and things ended the way they did for him at the end of this novel.
The previous books have only hinted to some aspects of his character which was more greatly explored in this storyline, allowing for a greater appreciation of the character.
Like with Charlie, this also gave more insight into other relationships briefly explored in the first 3 books making you love the universe and the individual characters a whole lot more!
4.5
I absolutely love this world with all these characters that this author has brought to life and once you start reading the first book in this it will pull you in so fast that it will grip you. I really like the way that this author writes and really enjoy the worlds that she creates.
This is #5 book in the series Rydeville Elite and is Jackson’s story, something we’ve been waiting to read and i’m glad he too got his own book. This is a dark bully romance book that you will love.
Jackson is hell bent on revenge and getting the guy that helped torture his sister and he will do whatever it takes to do what he has got to do. Even keeping his plan secret from everyone except Hunt. Vanessa is a woman that has been and still is going through hell, my heart aches for her so much and I feel so sorry for all that is and keeps happening to her. All she wants is to feel real love not someone taking the mick out of her in her mind or with her body. Her family, her mother is so much worse she is an absolute joke and she knows that she is a lost cause. But Nessa will do anything she can to protect her sister no matter the cost and at times even her life.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved how this authors has written the characters and the fact that all the other characters form the previous books make a small appearance too. The love story and the past between these two people is powerful and is also heartbreaking too. This story flows all the way through and I was gripped right until the very end, it will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and shocks that you will never see coming, This nail biting story was an amazing read I recommend reading the other books in the series so you can see who Jackson was before. I can not wait to get straight in to the next book in Rydeville Elite.

I think out of all the Rydeville Elite characters, Jackson is the one I was most excited to read. He was funny, flirty, sexy and trouble. I was surprised to see him change into an angry, hurt, dark and revengeful person once the substance use was taken away. Nessa is only but a pawn to him, a means to an end in his quest for revenge.
Jackson takes you deeper into the dark and twisted world of the Elite and we get see just how dark Jackson is prepared to go to get his revenge. Nessa’s story is heartbreaking and closely interwoven into their own dark history with the Elite.
I loved Jackson & Nessa love story and the ongoing continuation of the Elite storyline and I can’t wait to read Sawyer.
Spoiler alert: This is a standalone but this story is a spoiler for things that happen in the earlier books so I recommend reading these in order.
This book is EVERYTHING. No exaggeration, it’s one of the most engrossing stories I’ve ever read and I loved every second of it. This was a can’t put-it-down, where-have-you-been-all-my-life book and I was obsessed, giving up sleep to see how it ends right now because I couldn’t wait a moment longer. I truly can’t remember ever being so emotionally involved in a book as I was in this one. If every book were as good as this one, I’d be a complete hermit.
There are so many things I loved about it, I don’t even know where to start and have been trying to write this review all day. I’ll start with Jackson because I loved him in the earlier books. To be honest, I hated him for a bit in this one but Siobahn Davis is such an incredible author and does such a stellar job of telling his story, it’s impossible not to sympathize with him That doesn’t mean I condoned his stupidity because he really pissed me off, more than once here, but it was easy to see where he was coming from and why he was in such a terrible mindset. So many authors make their characters hotholes just for the sake of it and the backstory doesn’t quite cover it but in Jackson’s case, everything made sense.
Vanessa is one of the saddest, strongest, most likeable characters I’ve ever read and she’s immediately likeable. We’ve all done embarrassing things as teenagers, so her struggle to reinvent herself is so relatable, even if it’s on a much larger scale than yours or mine. Her story is tragic and possibly more heartbreaking even than Abby’s; Even in her darkest moments, Abby had Drew and her friends but Vanessa has never had anyone in her corner, until Jackson.
He has ulterior motives and breaks her heart but tries to justify it to himself in various ways. If only she hasn’t been afraid to open up to Jackson or Sawyer, or eventually Abby and Sondra, so much heartbreak could’ve been avoided. At the same time, Jackson may never have come to terms with his many faults without witnessing her suffering and owning his responsibility there so it was for the best since it ultimately brought them together in the end.
As I writer, I can only hope that my characters will touch readers the way Vanessa’s story touched me. I’m awed at Siobahn Davis’ skill and also at the depravity her mind conjures because holy hell, the elites just keep getting worse every time I think we’ve seen it all. I’ll be counting the days until Sawyer is released in June and also Drew, which is coming next year because the saga with the elites hasn’t ended. However, the end here isn’t a cliffhanger per se, which is important because I would have been furious at an author for toying with my emotions that way.
Make no mistake, a great story and amazing characters are not the only tricks in Davis’ bag here, there are quite a few others. One thing I adored about this book is that this story is going on at the same time as the events in Charlie, so I loved seeing the action taking place from different angles and multiple points of view. This isn’t just rewriting a few scenes, it’s so much more.
We also learn more about the elite and how they’ve regrouped since the showdown at Parkhurst. Spoiler alert: the evil villains are doing just dandy and seem to have enough government officials in their ranks and pockets to make all the problems go away. Among the various disgusting tricks in their bag, they traffic women and children on a private island belonging to a senator, much like the rumors surrounding Epstein’s island and his powerful political friends.
Separately and together, Jackson and Vanessa both kick ass and their story captivated me from the first page. As usual, I skipped the description and dove right in but began to panic about halfway through, worried about an abrupt ending like the previous story. I’m happy to report this is a full length novel, more than twice as long as Charlie, thank my lucky stars.
The elite subplot really comes in later in the story and though the current events wrap up nicely, there’s an excellent set-up to continue in future books, however I fear that we’ll have to wait for Drew for that because Sawyer’s family isn’t involved and is story seems to be headed in a different direction. The teasers for Sawyer are tantalizing though and it seems like Xavier will figure prominently, which is awesome. We get a lot more of Sawyer, as Vanessa’s childhood friend, and also of Xavier (squeee!!), as he and Vanessa quickly become friends. The first part of the story is all about our MC’s with some Sawyer and Xavier but it takes a turn further in where we get lots of Abby, Kai, Shondra and Drew as well.
Jackson and Vanessa (Nessa) have both got a complicated back story, which they are trying there best to survive. They are the typical frenemies to lovers with a twist. They have to work hard to get where they need to be and I could not stop reading, to see what is going to happen next. There maybe a lot of triggers for peope, but as alway well written by Siobahn Davis must read.
I love Jackson!
Jackson had my heart in the first Rydeville books, and oh my god! I’m in love! He is the perfect bad boy/good guy
