The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn’t notice until it was far too late.
Vanessa:The devil doesn’t always wear an evil mask.Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.I thought he was my savior. But he’s my ruination. And he’s … thought he was my savior.
But he’s my ruination.
And he’s just taken a machete to my heart.
Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And I’m out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except he’s not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when I’m done with Vanessa, she’ll wish she was dead.

Oh Jackson! Oh Jackson! Oh Jackson! You have to love Jackson, and anyone reading the previous books will and does. He is the cheeky, playboy friend, with the underlying sadness, who spent most of the previous books stoned out of his mind, hiding from his past. In ‘Jackson’ we find he has changed his ways, cleaning and sobering up his act and you love him even more, although there are definitely parts in this book where I found myself not liking him very much! In true Siobhan Davis style, I’ve found myself screaming, shouting, crying, swooning at the pages of her book. Once again, I have fallen into and become totally engrossed in the world of The Rydeville Elite. Crossover cameo characters from her other series, Kennedy and The Sainthood also pop up, which makes the world she writes in, seem even more real.
Jackson can be read as a stand-alone, but you don’t want to! The other books are too good not to read and offer an incite into this story, that pulls even harden on your heartstrings.
This is not just about Jackson, but also Nessa, whose own story is heartbreaking. I found myself wanting to hug, wrap her up and protect her from the world. I cried in parts for her pain! She really is the perfect girl for Jackson.
This book is a fabulous addition to the series. Not to be missed!
Jackson
Ok, wow!!! Loved Jackson and Nessa’s story! I loved the action, suspense, and chemistry in this one! Even when Jackson was being an A hole, I still loved it!
While I suppose you could read this as a stand alone, I wouldn’t- it just wouldn’t have the same effect if you don’t know all the other characters and their stories / backgrounds. I was so happy to see all my favorites have a pretty big role in this book: Kai, Abby, Hunt, and Xavier.
Overall great book!
This book is so full of twist and turns it had me hooked from page one. Jackson and Vanessa are hauntingly perfect for each other. Their journey is heartbreaking and emotional. Another pronominal read by Siobhan. A well deserved 5book.
Love & Revenge
Jackson wants revenge. He’s been waiting for the perfect time. The time is now.
When Jackson’s sister Dani died, it wrecked him. He spiraled into drugs, alcohol and women. It took a friend to give him a wake up call. He gave up the booze and the drugs and now he’s going after the men who ruined his sister.
Vanessa is part of Jackson’s plan. They knew one another from high school and summer’s in the Hampton’s. She was a wild, party girl who always wanted Jackson, but he turned her down. Now he’s determined to make her love him, so he can get close to her and find the man he’s been searching for.
She’s not the same girl that he remembers. She’s was forced to start a new life on her own. Vanessa has given up the party life. Now she works and she just wants her past to stay far away.
When Jackson shows an interest in her and starts his pursuit, she’s definitely leery of him. Jackson wasn’t ready for Vanessa. She was just supposed to be a means to an end. Neither expected their hearts to become involved.
These two both carry pain. Jackson had no idea how much Vanessa had suffered. She is a fighter and a survivor. However, the world of the elite is cruel. It’s a tangled web of deceit and twisted agendas. She’ll have to learn the truth or she’ll be dragged into that world. Jackson wanted to fight these evil men on his own, but he’ll need help. His friends would do anything for him, but he’ll have to tell them everything, including Vanessa, to get what he’s after.
Jackson knows how to make a girl fall for him and Vanessa was not immune. They definitely had chemistry. Their attraction built as they spent more time together. The tension was hotttt! Both of them were a little bit broken, but together they were able to heal their pain. It’s a dark road they’ll travel. Vanessa will be introduced to the world of the wealthy and morally bankrupt. The next generation of the elite are formidable. The tables are turning. Their’s new blood taking their rightful place in the elite and they want change. It won’t come easy. Blood will be shed, some of evil will be eliminated but there is more work to be done.
A dark, romantic suspense that will have you hot and bothered one minute and keep you on the edge of your seat the next. The series delivers an intriguing a storyline and characters that keep you coming back for more.
Tormented, angry, vengeful, and sexy as sin. Jackson Lauder is carrying the weight of the world for years and it’s time break free of it. Vanessa, the party girl who seemed to have it all is fighting her demons to make her life better.
A summer romance that was based in lies.Jackson fell hard and didn’t expect the outcome that his heart would be involved in a great deceit. Vanessa bears the brunt of some serious horrors and being a pawn in Jackson’s revenge was not on her list.
A tension filled, steamy ride that brings more understanding to the Rydeville nightmare that is the elite. Favorite characters return and more truths are unfolded. Siobhan Davis brings it again!
Holy shit…. Jackson is just everything!! I’ve never wanted a book boyfriend as much as him!! I don’t even know where to begin with my review because this book just blew me away! I don’t know how Nessa survived all of the abuse, beatings and heartache that she suffered… she is one strong woman!! I felt so many emotions whilst reading this book and really didn’t want it to end!! It was so well written and drew me in from the start!! This book was full of unexpected twists and turns, romance, steam, heartbreak, torture… the list it endless and I absolutely loved it!! I have always loved Jackson, from the first time we met his character in the Rydeville Elite series and this book made me fall harder… he is just to die for It was heartwarming to see how his feelings unexpectedly developed for Nessa (or was it Danielle ) throughout the story and how he messed up big time but owned it and worked endlessly to win her back! I didn’t foresee any of the events going down how they did and by the end I was begging for life to cut Nessa a break. Five stars really isn’t enough for this book, Jackson’s story will stay with me for a long time! I’m gonna have to buy the paperback!! Siobhan give yourself a round of applause…. that book was epic!!! Looking forward to Sawyers story
Oh my word! How I love Jackson. He tries to be mean but it really doesn’t suit him. Vanessa is running slowly from her past. They collide with fire, not seeing it for what it was. Many adults themes, darkness but so much love between these two… or is it???
It was nice to catch up with the other rydeville characters and this runs almost parallel to Charlie’s story. It’s a stand alone with no cliff hanger but worth reading all in the series to get a real feel for the characters. I don’t want to give too much away but Jackson will spin your head. Hot then stone cold. I really felt for Vanessa but someone gets their retribution…
Another great story from Siobhan!
Jackson is book 5 in the Rydeville series and not to be missed!
Ever since reading about Jackson in the previous books I was waiting to see which girl would make him fall to his knees and I wasn’t disappointed by Vanessa. She was naive at times and I was dying to slap her up the head on a couple of occasions. Apart from that I really enjoyed Jackson and anyone who is a fan of this series will eat this book up.
A tale of revenge, ups and downs, push and pull that will have you flipping those pages and hungry to find out what is going to happen. Will Jackson go through with his plan, will the softer side of him surface?
My review is my honest opinion, like it or not!
I love this series first of all. Good overcoming evil. And when I say evil I truly mean some sadistic stuff. Things nightmares are made of. If you can’t handle it stay out of the way. It takes some strong characters to fight this and fight they do. This author takes you to a world where demons hide in plain sight and you can’t believe what is happening until you are in it. Fighting your way out and becoming one with the league of young adults who are destroying this world is the only way to survive. Hang on tight because your in for a ride of strength, courage and love.
This was a great addition to the Ryderville series! It was another addicting read. This author knows how to give one heck of a rollercoaster ride!
It’s so good being back in the Rydeville world again. They have all finished school and after going through so much during that time it makes you wonder what on earth can happens next. There are still a few monsters to slay though so it’s anyones guess. Can J & V work together or is there too much water under the bridge?
Siobhan’s books alway suck me in from start to finish, and are jam packed with so much info and action it’s hard to come up with a decent review without ruining the journey, but that should speak volumes.
The author sends you on a rollercoaster of emotions and refuses to let you off, even when you feel like throwing your kindle. The descriptiveness in this book is so detailed that sometimes you forget that you’re not actually there so can’t punch/stab/hug one of the characters.
Definitely a must read especially for those who have read the whole series!!!
This book was so good I read it twice in a row. There is so much going on in there! It’s like 3 stories in one. I went in with Jackson being one of my favourite characters in the series, and then I got a lot more than I bargained for! I loved getting into his brain, even if I wanted to smash his head with a frying pan every once in a while. As for Vanessa, the girl is a survivor with a capital S yet she’s so incredibly sweet. I love when someone misunderstood finally gets validation for trauma she endured that reveals what a special person she is beyond the labels people put on her. Of course, we saw a lot of our Rydeville favourites, which is always a treat. Although Sawyer was more present than the others, I’d say I almost have more questions than answers as far as he’s concerned. As with most of Siobhan Davis’ books, this book rates high on the feelometer. It seems this series just gets better and better.
I have reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
4.5*
I received an advance copy of this from Social Butterfly PR on behalf of the author. All opinions are my own and haven’t been influenced.
I cannot believe I’ve slept on this series. Considering I’m an absolute stan of her Kennedy Boys series, the fact this is the first Rydeville book I’ve read is a crime and one I will be rectifying in short order.
All that to say, from this book alone I can tell I will love that series as much as the Kennedy Boys and that’s all from reading Jackson.
The writing in this is so immersive. The characters are so flawed, yet loveable in their flaws. I’m already obsessed with the side characters (I see you Charlie and Sawyer) and this doesn’t pull any punches, much like she doesn’t in some of her other books.
I cannot wait for the next book and I know what I’ll be trying to do in the mean time. Get further acquainted with Abby and the gang
I put off reading this one for days. I kept thinking “can I handle another bully?” You see, I don’t hide my desire for revenge (in fiction only, thankyouverymuch) and so many bully stories are a little lax on the groveling. Jackson? He really came through for me.
Jackson was so focused on his end goal, his revenge, that he decides to use Vanessa as a pawn in his plan. Even when they start to get close, Jackson ignores his conscious and continues with his plan. Vanessa has been on her own for the past year after her stepfather kicked her out, but she’s turned her life around and is no longer the wild party girl they once knew. Honestly it was plain to see that Nessa had been abused, but teenage boys focused on revenge don’t always look too closely.
Jackson’s actions towards Nessa were horrible, yet he got himself together before it was too late. What I really loved was that Vanessa didn’t immediately forgive him (as it feels it so oftens happens in these bully books). She was strong enough to stand up for herself so Jackson had to grovel to get back in her good graces (yessssssss).
The wild and tumultuous world of the Elite just kept getting crazier and crazier. The world has sucked me in and I can’t wait to find out the resolution.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.

Loved everything Jackson. All the back and forth all the steam. Just loved it. It was everything u didn’t know I needed.
Overall Grade: 1/2
When you read a book in the Rydeville High series by Siobhan Davis, you need to prepare yourself. While her heroines are the power of her story, violence and debauchery are heaped on them in almost terrifying ways. In real life, no one would look twice at the moments that Davis carefully crafts in her stories. Yet, in fiction, we can become entranced by it because, while horrifying, there is beauty in its ability to drive her heroes and heroines together.
In the first three books of this series, there is a standout character, Jackson. He is charismatic in a way that her other characters aren’t. While charming and crass, he also carries the weight of his sister’s death on his shoulders, and it lends a depth to him that, on the outside, seems surprising. When Davis announced his book, I preordered it quickly because that gravity of spirit intrigues me. And so…when I read an early copy of it, I jumped in feet first and ran.
For me, Jackson is my favorite Siobhan Davis book to date. The reasons are simple:
The heroine of Jackson, Vanessa, is different from her other heroines in that there is a sensitivity you don’t find in Abby or her heroine in her Sainthood series. She’s fragile because her past is horrifying. Yet, she’s learned to build strength with walls that surround her. I appreciate this combination, which makes her my favorite Davis heroine along with Selena Kennedy.
While this Jackson is still seemingly carefree and charismatic, he is also broody and troubled. His focus is revenge, and he makes decisions that will both entrance you and frustrate you. While he’s fairly good at reading Cam and Sawyer, he is horrible with self-reflection. However, the complication of personality in him makes this book better than her other Rydeville High and Sainthood stories. There is more to Jackson than we are allowed to see in the initial trilogy, and it’s exciting as Davis offers you more of his story.
As she does so well, Davis throws every situation at you in her stories, and it compels you forward and keeps you wrapped in the story. I think that’s one of the reasons she is so successful. Every moment of the book reveals a new trap, a new entanglement, a new need for the hero to rescue the heroine from almost certain death or degradation. You turn the page because you need to know that, in this case, Jackson will save Vanessa from certain doom. The story is multi-layered and debauched. Every time a new Rydeville High book comes out, I hope that the organization is finally overthrown, so the abuse and violence end. That is why I jump feet first into her books. And Jackson offers up all these great qualities in ways that I didn’t feel in the last four books.
Siobhan Davis is a master of universe hopping. This makes for an exciting read because characters you’ve fallen for in past books find space in Jackson. The Kennedys are here; a character from the Sainthood world is here, and of course, the rest of the crew from the other Rydeville High books. While we aren’t privy to all of their storylines, we are connected back to the ghosts of them in Jackson. I love when authors remind us of their other books and characters and craft a bigger world than just the one that exists in the present. Jackson does this well; now, I’m hoping we get Drew’s story because there is MUCH to be unpacked there.
Siobhan Davis’s brand of romance, quite honestly, might make you flinch and grit your teeth as her heroines must endure much. Yet, there is always the promise of retribution and happy endings. The journey there is a wild one, keeping you enrapt until the last word. Jackson, in my opinion, is one of her bests because we realize that her hero is more than the smiling, joking playboy. Her heroine, Vanessa, brings out the depths of Jackson, showing us that, deep down, he is one of the “good guys.”
Omg this series is getting better and better with each characters story we are getting. When we first met Jackson I fell in love with him and his character. He’s this fun-loving guy but has a terrible past. We knew what happened but we didn’t know the full extent of it. When He gets together with Vanessa and falls hard we see it all come full circle. These guys are so fun to learn about. But what really makes it while is how Rydeville Elite are so involved but we still need to know who’s calling so the shots. I can’t wait for the next one. Siobhan Davis is one of the best writers of our time and I’m so glad to be apart of it. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read this as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
It’s time for Jackson and Vanessa’s story, this book showed me how much Jackson transforms himself through the series. As always this book will drag you in from the start and you just have to keep on reading until the end. When I think I couldn’t love this series more than I already have Siobhan Davies proves me wrong. A must-read series definitely!
A rollercoaster you don’t want to miss
Jackson, the fifth (and second standalone – interconnected) book in Siobhan Davis’ Rydeville Elite series will definitely give you all the right feels. Ms Davis continue to surprise us with her unique, tortured and deep characters who you have no other option but to fall head-over-hills for.
What can I say about Jackson…He is one of the characters I really loved and felt for throughout the series and I was anxiously waiting for his story. He did not disappoint. I’ve NEVER felt my emotions toward a character reach from zero to thirty in such a short amount of pages before. It really gave me a whiplash (and I loved every minute of it!). Numerous times I wanted to somehow teleport myself into the book and smack him in the head. He deserved it! But then he did something and simply transformed me into a puddle on the floor…So, my advice: keep reading. You can’t help but falling in love with him in the end…. Now, Nessa…there are no words to describe the will and strength of this girl. The things she endured in her life would have left anyone in shreds. But she has a core of steel and proves it throughout the book again and again. She fights and resurrects from the ashes. Apart from the characters, the plot is evolving and you will see some situations from the other books be dealt with.
All in all, this book gave me all the feels. I yelled, I cried, I laughed and swooned over the characters, fanned myself and I smiled a lot (sometimes through my tears). It is definitely a five-star novel for me and I highly recommend it. You will miss out if you don’t grab it, as well as the rest of the series.
