The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn’t notice until it was far too late.
Vanessa:The devil doesn’t always wear an evil mask.Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.I thought he was my savior. But he’s my ruination. And he’s … thought he was my savior.
But he’s my ruination.
And he’s just taken a machete to my heart.
Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And I’m out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except he’s not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when I’m done with Vanessa, she’ll wish she was dead.
An interconnected standalone dark romance set in the Rydeville Elite world. Due to mature content and themes, this book is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. Some scenes may be triggering. Full length, 126k word, novel.

Okay so I can totally admit that Vanessa was not my fave person during the original part of this series but now I have an entire new respect for her. In typical Davis fashion we go from hating her to understanding why she does what she does. Now insert Jackson on a revenge kick and things really get interesting. He is determined to use her for his own ends but when he gets feelings for her instead things really get twisted as he tries to figure things out. Lots of drama also my the way to their HEA I must say. A totally fantastic dark romance. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Oh. Emm. Gee! Jackson was fantastic! I was stoked to get my hands on the latest Ryderville Elite book and after waiting what felt like forever, Jackson hit my kindle! I was hooked from the start! Jackson is angsty, heartbreaking, smoking hot, and everything that I love about a Siobhan Davis book!
Bitterness is a difficult pill to swallow and in Jackson’s case, he refuses! What he wants more than anything is revenge and he is willing to get it at any cost, even if it means his heart!
The world of the Ryderville Elite just got a whole lot more sinister and you will need to prepare yourself for this epic story! Jackson is a standalone set in the Ryderville Elite world. And while technically it’s written to be read independently, I would highly recommend starting the Ryderville books with Cruel Intention (and subsequently following that with Twisted Betrayal and Sweet Retribution) to fully grasp Jackson’s story and his character arc.
Jackson is a duel POV dark, fake-relationship, suspenseful second chance romance. You will fall head over heels for the bad boy (Jackson) because underneath his dark demeanor lies a man who is lost and lonely! He can be cruel and cunning but he’s full of so much emotion you can’t help but feel for him! Vanessa is the definition of a strong female! She’s been through so much more than a girl should but she still has a heart of gold! She pushes on and fights for not only the respect she deserves but also for love! Jackson’s and Vanessa’s story will rip you apart, have you crying ALL the tears but in the end, (as Siobhan loves to do), she will restore hope and put you back together! One-click this outstanding addition to the Ryderville Elite series immediately!
Holy shit!!! JACKSON was steamy, sexy, hot and incredible. I didn’t want it to end! Not ever.
Wow…. This book is amazing. I enjoy all of Siobhan’s work, she is a truly talented author. But this book, this book gutted me. It was so beautifully done too. I had my heart ripped out, like fully trampled on, but it was pieced back together and healed by the master herself.
I always had a soft spot for our smoking hot, Jackson Lauder. I knew the way he always drowned out his feelings with drugs, that he was holding onto some dangerous emotions. I got to see and feel the damage he had been hiding behind, how his need for revenge took over. I will honestly say, I loved him in this book, but I also despised his behavior at times.
Vanessa, Nessa, is such a beautiful soul. She is our breathtaking heroine in this novel. She had her own dark secrets that she buried. Jackson tried to manipulate / break her, but all he succeeded in was bringing out this strong, courageous woman, ready to take on the world.
This book will deffinitely have you swooning one minute and cursing the next. It was fast paced and packed with twists and turns you didn’t see coming. A page turner until the very end! Its truly a work of art!! ONE CLICK this beauty, you will not be disappointed!!

Rating:
Long Memory, Short Fuse, Big Revenge!
The blurb positions this as an “interconnected stand alone” set in the Rydeville High Elite world. By that I know that there will be people that have been in previous books and that not all references to those people or things that happened before this book will be fully explained. I understood this going in and still decided to read this even though I haven’t read the first four books yet.
Knowing that, there are not just a few references in this book to things that happened in the past, there are a ton. Many are explained for new readers, which I liked. However, one of the main themes has to do with crimes that may or may not have happened in previous books by members of “The Elite”. The Elite is never really fully explained but seems to be one of those secret societies where the very wealthy try to run the world. Or at least their part of it and make money through selling drugs, guns and people.
The trope of the secret society of wealthy pricks is one that is done a lot in romance and lately I have seen it come up in a lot of bully romance novels. It is a good trope because it introduces mystery, suspense, and villains. However, these criminal organizations are generally very complex and have a lot of people and moving parts. So some of it is hard to drop in on when you haven’t been around since the beginning. This book is like that. A lot of bad things, and some good have happened with regard to the Elite in the previous books and not all are fully explained so I was floundering a few times. If I had a do-over or more time, I would read the first four books prior to this one.
That being said, I still really enjoyed this book. It centered around Jackson Lauder who wants revenge for the fact that his sister committed suicide. She did so because she was broken after being kidnapped, tortured and raped on an Island by a man named Christian Montgomery. Jackson and his best friend Sawyer find out that one of their old friends, Vanessa Breen, is the daughter of this man, though she lives with her mother and step-father.
They didn’t treat Vanessa very well back when they knew her because she was a hot mess at that time. She was usually drunk and she slept with a lot of guys and was a stage five clinger. So Jackson becomes her boyfriend in order to see if she has any information on where Christian Montgomery took off to when a warrant was put out for his arrest. Jackson plays the prince charming role very well to hook Vanessa.
Vanessa has her own issues which is why she was a hot mess for a while, but since she was kicked out of her house she has become sober and independent. Jackson finds himself admiring her and starts having feelings for her but at some point he thinks she has been playing him. So he becomes her bully. I won’t go further into details because the book is actually really good and the readers should experience it all for themselves.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Holy hell!!! There is not much that tops all three of my favorite book series being referred to in one book. I just love how Siobhan can combine her book worlds to make one epic story so much better. I was blown away by the connection between Jackson and Nessa. The hatred just roils off of him but the strong independent yet sassy and sexy woman that stands before him is no longer the out of control mess of a teenage he once knew. Can he make her fall for him while keeping his own heart shielded? If he knew all her secrets would he even try? Oh it’s a roller coaster ride you will not want to get off of. Nessa has been through hell yet she manages to pick herself up and be proud of the person she is but will she let Jackson destroy her after all she’s survived…oh man I just couldn’t get enough.
Of coarse Abby was everything you expect her to be and Kia her loving doting husband is right there when anyone upsets her…even his best friend will feel his wrath…does that stop Jackson from being the arrogant asshole we all have known him to be….of coarse not. I promise you do not want to miss this all consuming love\ hate relationship!!!! Amazing read as always Siobhan Davis!!!!
I have waited for Jackson’s story from the beginning. He has been a mystery with a dark side and I needed to know more. With each story in between his story unfolded but you do not get the whole truth until this unveiling. And it will break your heart but don’t worry, Siobhan Davis will put it back together for you.
Jackson needs to find out more information about what happened to his sister. And to do that he must get the information from Vanessa because she knows about the man that took his sister. Christian Montgomery is a monster and does things to people that will make your skin crawl. Jackson knows this and pretending to date Vanessa might be the thing he fears the most. Because as his feelings grow for her, he is beginning to realize that she doesn’t know anything about Montgomery. So what does he do now?
Can Jackson continue to play the boyfriend role with Vanessa? Will Vanessa find out who Christian Montgomery really is to her? What will she do when she learns the truth?
This series is one of the best bully series that has gotten better and better as it goes along. Each book has a way of pulling you in until you are left wanting more and you do not want to leave this world. I can not wait for Sawyer and Xavier’s book. Thank you Siobhan Davis for this awesome series.
**I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.**
This is on my Kindle and I cannot WAIT to read it! When it comes to steamy, dark contemporary romance…Siobhan Davis never disappoints.
Holy moly!!! Prepare yourselves for one incredible ride. WARNING: if you’ve not read the RYDEVILLE ELITE series before, I highly suggest reading them so you’ll truly understand all the moving parts in this book and the character relationships. Get ready for huge reveals, heartbreak, seedy shadow organizations, and fierce women determined to overcome horrific past events. There’s so much adrenaline in this read. The monsters had better watch out, for their time is almost over! This rivals Abby’s story in my mind. Like with her other books in the series there are massive trigger warnings. However I loved this read and watching the growth of both Vanessa and Jackson. I look forward to seeing what’s up in the next book.
*review for audible version*
This story is not for the weak of heart. Its emotional, gut wrenching, angsty, and triggering. I don’t think I was prepared for what unfolded. It had me on the edge of my seat with my heart in my hands.
Vanessa has endured so much, so much more than anyone her age or anyone else for that matter. Emotional and physical scars from a childhood and adolescence filled with constant fear. Then Jackson comes along, a boy from her past, making her believe that maybe things can change for the better.
Jackson has one thing on his mind, revenge. He’ll stop at nothing for redemption. Vanessa was apart of his plan all along but what developed was not. She’s taken over his mind, among other things, a temptation he can’t quit.
The narration was amazing. The perfect fit for these characters. This story drew me in and didn’t let go. Now I need to go listen to the rest of the series to find out about that other characters that were in this book. Definitely a must listen!

When Vanessa is kicked out of her childhood home by her stepfather, it sparks a change in her. But there’s someone out there planning on using her to avenge his sister’s suicide, and Vanessa is the one he’s going to use to get that revenge. Too bad Vanessa doesn’t recognize the agenda he’s hiding when he seduces her into thinking he cares about her. Because Vanessa’s already fragile, perhaps too fragile to take one more hit to her psyche, the hit that only Jackson’s betrayal can hurt her with.
Damn…the Rydeville Elite storyline just keeps getting crazier and more intense with each couple. Jackson and Vanessa, especially Vanessa, are put through unspeakable horrors by the elite, more players keep getting introduced, and more horrible things keep happening. Will they ever be able to dismantle this secret society?
I gotta tell ya that Jackson was a serious douche for a good portion of this story. I wanted Vanessa to kick him in the junk after kicking him to the curb, then walk away never to speak to him again. I didn’t think there was a chance in hell he could redeem himself, but in true Siobhan style, she pulled it off beautifully. I like how he slowly realized he’d had his head up his ass, and how determined he was to make things right with the only woman to have his heart. And Vanessa? That woman is pure gold. She truly grew in this story from a broken girl battling a horrible past, into a strong, tough woman who knew her own worth. Wow, I truly think this is my favorite couple and my favorite heroine yet in not only the Rydeville world, but in all of Siobhan’s writing.
I was elated to go back to the Ryderville Elite world and this time we got Jackson and Nessa’s beautifully emotional story. This dangerous and suspenseful story was full of surprises and twist. The excitement of Jackson’s quest for revenge and the gang’s determination to eliminate the evil old Elites kept me on the edge of the seat. I’m overjoyed that the author decided to release the story as a whole as oppose to releasing it as several installments. I was fully immersed and it made the story ten times more thrilling and enjoyable.
Jackson and Nessa were two beautifully flawed character. They each got demons from the past that haunted them. Jackson was on the quest to seek revenge for her sister torturous kidnap/suicide and innocent Nessa somehow got tangled in the war path.
I wanted to smack Jackson for all the hurt he had caused from his cruel bullying. Revenge had clouded his common sense and he was irrational and judgmental. I understand where he was coming from, but he should had opened up and listened to his friends logical advice. My heart ached for all the tragedies and sufferings Nessa experienced which no little girl should endure. I admired her strength in coming out on top of all the obstacles that life had thrown at her time and time again. She was one truly brave survivor.
We moved forward a little with the Elite business. New players were introduced and more monsters were exposed. We got to see the whole crew working together again to outsmart the evils. I’m not sorry to see that some strong players got their most deserving outcome; justice needed to be served. However, there were still ways to go for the crew to live safely and out of the corrupted hands of the Elite.
Since Jackson and Sawyer were best friends, we got to know Sawyer a little more and I’m totally intrigued. We got a tease of what is to come in his story. I’m dying to get my hands on Sawyer’s MMF story and hopefully it would come earlier than the tentative date of May 2021.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Siobhan Davis delivers another amazing book with Jackson. She takes us on an emotional, gritty rollercoaster of a ride.
Jackson and Vanessa were a perfect per. Their story was heartbreaking, and messy, it was dark and twisted. They are two broken people who came together to make one strong. whole person. Where Jackson was broody, dark and angry Vanessa was broken, sad, and lonely. Jackson was planning his revenge and Vanessa was trying to make a new life for herself. My heart broke for both of them. Jackson for his sister and Vanessa for the innocence she lost and the horrible things she had to endure. She had to go through things no one should ever have to.
Siobhan Davis gave us another amazing story in the Rydeville Elite Series. Everything about Jackson was just perfect. The plot, the characters, both old and new, and her writing was just flawless. She had me addicted and hooked to this book with her writing. I was crying for Vanessa and Jackson both while reading this book.
Jackson is a must read for anyone who loves dark romance. Jackson and Vanessa’s journey is dark, twisted, heartbreaking and messy. 5 stars for Davis and Jackson! I cannot wait to see what she gives us next.
Wow. WOW. After binging Jackson in only a matter of hours, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Siobhan Davis has killed it yet again!
I have loved Jackson Lauder since he was introduced in Cruel Intentions and I knew that whoever he ended up with would be one heck of a woman. And I wasn’t wrong! Vanessa is tough, fierce, and determined. She has been through the ringer, but she still puts one foot in front of the other and faces the day head on. She is exactly the woman meant for Jackson and together, they can take on the world.
I loved being able to go back to Rydeville and to the world of the Elite. We say hello to some old friends popping in and the way that Siobhan can blend together such a diverse group of characters is a testament to her writing skill. She brings plenty of angst, emotion, and steam with Jackson and Nessa and it was such a journey watching these two come together.
I know we still have Sawyer and Drew’s book to come in this world, but I’m already dreading saying goodbye to this series. Davis has wonderfully crafted such in-depth, layered, flawed, beautiful characters that I’ve connected to, and it will be hard letting them go. Jackson is such an incredible addition to this engaging series and I loved every word of it!
Are you sure I can’t give this book ten stars because it most definitely deserves it.
Vanessa Breen has gone through so much in her young life but she will hold those secrets close to her heart so no one else gets hurt. She has done everything to turn over a new leaf but some people can’t see the new Vanessa and she always will be judged in a different light. One of those people is Jackson Lauder.
Jackson Lauder has many demons and all he wants is to hurt the people he thinks have done him wrong. He will use some to get to the real problem and unfortunately Vanessa is on his radar, what he never expects is maybe she is different, but letting go is just as hard for him to believe.
Jackson & Vanessa will go through so many tumultuous times, but you will want to hold on and watch the ride that they will endure to find out so many truths that they are both seeking. This book is incredible from the very first page right up until you see the words The End.
Jackson was everything I didn’t know I needed! I was so intrigued by Jackson in Rydeville Elite, but couldn’t even fathom the journey we got to take into his mind and life! Nessa was a deep character with way more to her than I thought going in. The world building in Rydeville and the Elite has been incredible with so many twists you don’t see coming. This world is one of my favorites ever and Jackson is an absolute must read! Better than 5 stars perfection! I can’t wait to see where else Siobhan will take us on this journey!
This is the continuation of Jackson’s story after the Rydeville Elite series. Jackson was part of the new Elite that came to compete with the old Elite students for domination of Rydeville High. After the events in Sweet Retribution, he is so focused on destroying the who caused the death of his sister years ago that loses his true inner self. Vanessa grew up in the same society as the new Elite. She has always been abused and mistreated by everyone she ever knew. After graduation from Rydeville High, Vanessa is finally starting to take control of her life. Then Jackson walks back into her life. The first part of the book Jackson is extremely hard to like as his thirst for revenge causes him to be a jerk to everyone around him especially Vanessa who is already so fragile. The quote in this book that has stayed with me the most is when Jackson said “The girls come first. Always. Which is something I never should have forgotten.” At the end of the day, no matter how complicated and tortured they are, the Rydeville Elite boys will always protect the girls first. That is one of the main reasons I love this series. I highly recommend reading Jackson. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Oh Jackson! This book has everything you expect and soo much more!! You meet Vanessa, learn her story and how much more the elite suck! Happy reading!!
Holy. Fuck. I really could end it there.
Jackson is the fifth book in the Rydeville Elite series by Siobhan Davis. You can read as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series to get to know the background. And to also get to know Jackson, he is my favorite from the series with his shameless flirting, humor, and tenderness. If you happened to read Ruse, a bonus book in the series than you very briefly met Vanessa. I didn’t see their story coming and I loved it.
Vanessa was on her own. Cut off from her family and their support. She isn’t the same woman she was a year ago so when two boys from her past show up to the diner she works at she is surprised and confused. Especially, after Jackson asks her out on a date. While they spent summers together in the Hamptons, he didn’t even give her the time of day so she doesn’t get it. She wasn’t sure what his intentions are but after seeing another side of him, she knows he could be trouble for other reasons. She could fall for him and after he gets bored then what? All the men in her past has either used, abused, or abandoned her. Jackson had the power to break her heart. One she has built steel around. Can she trust the reformed partying playboy?
Jackson knew he would hurt her. He was set on revenge and this was the only way to do it. He would use her for his gain. To bring down the man who took his sister. That man broke his sister and now he was going to break the girl he left behind. What he didn’t expect was Vanessa to be so different from their days in the Hamptons. This woman had secrets hiding under her innocent act and he vowed to get them out of her no matter what it took. He was not letting anyone get in his way of his revenge.
I can’t really say anything more. I can say that I read almost the whole book in one morning (I am not a night reader and I promptly passed out). I had to know what was going to happen. What kind of fucked up stuff was up next. You know if you have read the series, you know exactly what I am talking about. It’s not always an easy read but worth it. It’s addicting and not full of rainbows and butterflies. Nope. It’s still poetic though. These college students have gone are still going through some twisted shit. And now Jackson and Vanessa are front and center of it all.
Overall…it’s an unexpected dark romance full of twists, turns, passion, friendship, family, and love. I loved Vanessa, she is a stronger than she thinks and she definitely has to be strong to get through this. I can’t wait for the next book!! Sawyer, you are so fucked.
Quotes:
“So, why are you scared?”
“I’m scared of feeling, and you, Jackson Lauder, have the potential to make me feel all kinds of feels.”
“What was that?” I murmur as he scoops me up, cradling me in his arms. He chuckles as I fight a yawn. My body is gently jostled as he walks.
“That, baby, was the Jackson Lauder experience.” He places me in bed, carefully removing my dress before pulling the comforter up over me. “Also known as ruining you for all other men.” (Haha! So Jackson.)
“Wow.” Xavier says. “You are straight fire, Van. It’s almost enough to turn me hetero.” He winks, and I giggle.

JACKSON!!!!!!
**TRIGGER WARNING AND MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE
From the beginning I had a total soft spot for Jackson and was completely ecstatic to read his book!! Jackson and Vanessa are so right for each other and they couldn’t have had a better story. Their love was felt from the beginning.
Then I wanted to punch Jackson right in his damn face. To rip his damn head out of his ass!! Vengeance for Vanessa!!!
This is the 5th book and so many more questions are being answered with every book in the series. It has murder and mystery. It has vengeance and justice. Love and betrayal.
This is one of my favorite Dark, Bully Romance series
