The devil came to me in disguise. Too bad I didn’t notice until it was far too late.
Vanessa:The devil doesn’t always wear an evil mask.Sometimes, he appears in the most beautiful form.Like the super-hot bad boy with the dirty-blond hair and a wicked glint in his blue eyes who swept in out of nowhere, stealing all the air from my lungs.I thought he was my savior. But he’s my ruination. And he’s … thought he was my savior.
But he’s my ruination.
And he’s just taken a machete to my heart.
Jackson:
For years, my rage seethed under the surface. Hidden behind a cloudy haze of my poison of choice.
But now, the fog has cleared.
And I’m out for blood.
I will annihilate those responsible for taking my sister from me.
Except he’s not here, so I go for the next best target.
The woman he abandoned.
Until it suited him to drag her into this messed-up elite world.
Sucks to be her.
Because when I’m done with Vanessa, she’ll wish she was dead.

This is the 5th book in this phenomenal series and is Jackson and Vanessa’s story. My heart broke for both characters as they are so broken by their pasts, yet hauntingly perfect together. Jackson is on a mission of revenge and gets close to Vanessa as he wants information about what happened to his sister, and she knows the man who took her. This is a beautifully written dark and intense story which is an emotional roller coaster, as well as being filled with heartbreak, secrets, revenge, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more int his riveting series which this talented author has done an outstanding job in penning. This story may contain triggers for some readers due to the content, so just be aware!
Jackson is Book #5 in the Rydeville Elite series, following the trilogy for Abby and Kaiden and then Charlie and it was great being back in their world.
Jackson is one of the ‘new money’ elite and is one of Kaiden’s best friends, who we meet in the original ‘trilogy’ and you got a taste then, that there was a traumatic story that turned him into a weed smoking joker and boy did Siobhan not disappoint!
Vanessa had a very brief introduction in the earlier books, as a hot mess clinging to Kaiden who really used her as a one-night stand and this book totally changes your opinion of ‘Nessa’
Both with troubled stories to tell and this book gives you all the feels – angst, euphoria and devastation and the twists and turns certainly keep you on your toes!
I loved this story and can’t wait for ‘Sawyer’ who’s up next. Siobhan you killed it with this book!
Vanessa Breen may have had a rich stepfather, and anything she could have wanted, but she learned from an early age that everything she had came with a price, and that monsters are very real. She spent years hiding behind a mask, until her step father kicked her to the curb with nothing but her personal belongings. Jackson Lauder wants revenge, he spent years hiding in a haze of sex, alcohol, and drugs after his sister’s suicide. He is sober now, and will use anything, or anyone to avenge his sister’s death at the hands of the Elite member he knows is responsible.
Oh, wow, these are wonderful characters, I loved them. Vanessa and Jackson will both learn that hiding their true selves, and keeping secrets, is just as dangerous as the Elite they want to destroy. Exciting action, suspenseful, and a little mystery. If you have read all of this series you’ll love this book. I think it’s awesome and answers some questions, and it left me anticipating the next book. Fantastic, I loved it!

4.5 Stars
I was so excited for Jackson’s book. I have loved him since the beginning of the Rydeville series, and he did not disappoint! He was cruel, ruthless, and sexy as fuck. Siobhan showed us in the previous books that he was a little broken but I didn’t understand just how broken until I was allowed inside his head. His mind was twisted up for so long and then he just created used sex, drugs, and alcohol as a way to escape his mind and his heartbreak. Jackson built up walls to prevent people from getting in, even his closest friends didn’t get the full, real Jackson anymore. In comes Vanessa, The hot mess girl with a whole lot of issues. This girl has lived through so much pain with no one having her back. She saw herself as weak but just being able to survive what she did shows how strong she really was. These two were both broken shells of who they used to be and should be but were stronger and better together.
Now of course because he’s a broken asshole, Jackson does some stupid things that make you want to scream at him. And because she’s equally broken she does some stupid things as well that just make you say “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?” but honestly, that type of angst is one of the reasons we read Siobhan’s books.
We also get to see the rest of our favorite characters from the series and I just fell in love with them even more. Sawyer has always been a favorite of mine and we get a lot of him throughout this book. And with the glimpses we got, I cannot wait for his book! I love him and Xavier together but I’m excited to see what happens when a girl gets thrown into the mix.
Jackson has been one of my favourite characters since the beginning of the Rydeville story, I’m so happy we finally get to see inside his head! He was the happy, hilarious one of the trio but we also knew he had something dark in his past that caused his mood to switch from happy, to closed off and moody. In his story, we find out all of the heart breaking details of his past and the reasons as to why he is the way he is.
Vanessa is awesome. I love her so much. Her past was also heart breaking but she’s so strong and brave and she is perfect for Jackson!
This story is definitely one of my favourites so far. It’s fast paced and action packed right to the end. I loved the fact that Siobhan had incorporated characters from some of her other series into this story too. It was awesome getting an update on a few of the Kennedy’s
Sawyer and Xavier are involved in alot of this book and I can’t wait to read their story next!

Jackson is the fifth book in the Rydeville Elite series written by author Siobhan Davis. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple. Even though this is true, there’s a background story that continues throughout the series. Therefore, it’s best to read them in order to fully appreciate and understand the storyline.
The Rydeville Elite series has been a jaw-dropping, panty-melting series, and I seriously can’t get enough of them. I have loved Jackson from the very beginning, and I have been very curious about his story. So, when I saw his book, I tore into it with fervor!
Jackon’s story is emotional and difficult to read in times. He and his family have been through a lot, and it has shaped him to be the man he is today. He can be spiteful at times, but he can also be very loyal and thoughtful. Vanessa has known Jackson since they were younger, and they’ve had a rocky friendship.
Jackson is a dark romance, and it has several triggers. So, please read the warning before beginning. Their story was an extreme rollercoaster ride, and it was sometimes hard to read without crying. Although, I think this was one of my favorites in the series!
Now, I can’t flipping wait for Sawyer!

All he can think about is revenge, he wants to annihilate the person who broke his sister.
She’s the girl that can get him closer to his end goal.
He will own her heart, her secrets and walk away to fullfil his promise, if it’s the last thing he does…
Oh wowsers! Jackson, the newest addition to this fantastic series just annihilated me!
The pain in their eyes, along with the anguish that was painted upon their hearts devastated me.
This is a story that will have you raging one moment, swooning the next and crying as if the world is about to end moments later.
I can honestly say I feel weak, and I’m completely and utterly emotionally spent.
That’s not a bad thing it’s the exact opposite in fact. It’s the sign of an incredible read. Not many books will touch your heart and soul so thoroughly which makes this all the more special.
Jackson and Vanessa are not strangers to each other, they share a past and I loved how what they were, isn’t who they are now.
Jackson has grown up, and developed both his body and his mind. He is no longer desperate to bury his feelings below continuous highs, and whilst I hated his actions I loved his drive and determination.
Vanessa was the wild card. Unpredictable, easy and trouble with a capital T. No one ever questioned her antics, dug deeper they all just avoided and or belittled her.
But now she’s out there fighting to survive and keep a roof over her head. She’s tough, she’s brave and she is as strong as they come.
Amazing characters, a storyline that is unparalleled and an author who never fails to bring you exactly what you need in a book equals all the stars in the galaxy if only I were allowed to give so many.
Can I please live in Siobhan’s mind?!
I mean, damn! Just when you think she couldn’t do it again, she does. I really liked Jackson in the main three books of this series and couldn’t wait for this instalment of his, I was not disappointed. There is so much happening in this book, and I love all the different sides of Jackson we see in this, even if sometimes throughout it I decided maybe I didn’t like him as much as I thought!
Vanessa is yet another strong female from Siobhan, as all the things she has gone through are revealed it is surpirsing that she is the strong together woman she is, how she has re-evaluated her life and made positive changes. When things go wrong she gets back up, dusts herself off and carries on, and she does it for those she loves as well as for herself. The chemistry between her and Jackson is off the charts and is both romantic and steamy in perfect balance.
But Rydeville wouldn’t be right without action packed drama! Around 35% in I was thinking what?! This is like end of book drama, what’s going on! Then again at 65% – same thoughts! Siobhan kept me on my toes and turning pages all the way through. A must read! – But read the first in the Rydeville series first because trust me you don’t want to miss it.

Throughout the other books of the Rydeville Elite series, the thing that I remember most about Jackson Lauder is that he seems to be perpetually stoned, a follower, not a leader. In this book, he is clearheaded, in charge, and set on a course of vengeance. His goal is to find the monster in hiding that is responsible for the death of his sister. To accomplish this, he sets out to get close to Vanessa, who he believes will lead him to that individual.
Vanessa is free from the hell she grew up in, her life is on track. She doesn’t trust easily but when Jackson turns on the charm she can’t help falling for him – only to have her heart shredded. And that’s when the monster comes for her.
I soaked in every word, completely engrossed in Jackson and Vanessa’s riveting story. I couldn’t tear myself away. The writing is just that great. The storytelling is just that awesome. I love the characters who are vividly brought to life by Siobhan Davis in this emotional story of love and revenge. I loved it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Jackson’s time to grow up. I loved him in the other books, but he had to grow up to settle the score. I hate these Elite people. They have a total disregard for women. He’s is fighting for his sister, and will truly do anything for her.
Vanessa is a beautiful girl. She has lived thru horrific events. She fell in love with Jackson, and never saw him coming. Coming to terms with his love for Vanessa, he realizes that he might not be able to have both.
I truly felt bad for Vanessa. We know the things she’s been thru, and Jackson pushed her. I totally loved that she put herself back together. She did it on her own. I loved her fight and spirit.
I was blown away by the twist in this book. It seriously was like being dropped from an airplane. My stomach plummeted. In the end we know all know we are going to love them, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!!
Vanessa (Nessa) has gone through so much in her life and holds these secrets close to her heart. Vanessa has changed her ways but her past seems to still haunt her. Jackson Lauder has many demons in his life and he wants is to hurt the people that have done him wrong. When Vanessa shows up it becomes hard for him to stay away and attraction between these two is intense and hot. Jackson & Vanessa go through so many ups and downs throughout there relationship and there is a lot of push and pull that goes on between them. Jackson and Nessa’s story is broken into 2 parts, some of the events that happen in this book overlap with the other books in this series and certain people make an appearance but can’t tell you who they are. This book is full of twists and turns, secrets will be exposed and truths will be shared. I couldn’t but this book down once I started reading it.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
HOLY SMOKES. I’m left speechless- tears still misting in my eyes from the surprisingly bittersweet epilogue, heart pounding, butterflies in my tummy. I knew I’d enjoy his book- I love everything Siobhan does, but I never expected to have been so ravished by it, to fall so deeply in love with my now-favorite Siobhan book boyfriend Jackson (sorry Kai and Saint!), nor to feel so profoundly moved by the story of our heroine Vanessa and the soulful, tender, cathartic romance with Jackson.
We know and love Jackson from the stories we’ve already read, but in HIS book we get Jackson 2.0. The same fun loving, snarky, charming lady killer that we all grew to adore, also the same man that we realized was masking some deep emotional baggage that he’s camouflaging with his swagger and penchant for chemically medicating his pain and rage. Here, he’s evolved- we get to see more of his substance and depth. I knew there was more to Jackson, but I had no clue just how nuanced and dynamic Jackson was beneath his sassy veneer. Holy hell- this man moves me. He’s swoon worthy and delicious in the best ways – dirty talker, sexy AF, a veritable Adonis, and I’m pretty sure he could charm on the pants off a snake. But, what really made me swoon was his heart- the little cracks of true depth we see as this story slowly chips away at his facade until this beautiful, tender yet strong man appears. His loyalty, his conviction, his protectiveness combined with a sweetness and gentleness, a delicate and raw vulnerability all worked in perfect concert to create this perfect and soulful symphony of a man. So much depth- he’s more than just a pretty boy. And when he says “ I have something to say….”- lord, hold on to your heart and your panties.
And Nessa. I tear up just thinking about how beautiful of a spirit she is- what a revelation she was for me. I was not prepared to love, admire, and relate to this complex heroine nor for her to be my favorite SB woman. Like so many of us, she just wants to matter to someone, to be worthy of selfless love. To find some real connection in a sea of half truths. She wants to be seen- her pain and survival to be valued. This Nessa is nothing like the party girl Vanessa we had heard about and thought we knew- and even what we DO know about her has been completely misunderstood. We see that she’s sweet and caring, devoted and spirited. She’s also hurt and lost, insecure and tentative. But, at her core, she’s a fighter- not just for herself, but for those she loves, for what is right. I don’t just love her- I FLOVE HER. This says a lot, but I think she’s been through the ringer more than any other SD heroine-she’s broken by it, but not yet shattered. She’s resilient and even after all the harm she’s experienced from this f’ed up Elite world around her, she somehow still unflinchingly opens her heart to someone she knows can, and will, break it- she still has hope at her core. She left me feeling raw and exposed- moved and inspired by her bravery.
And them and a couple- O..MY.GOD. The connection between Jackson and Nessa is emotional, the chemistry explosive. Both characters are coping in harmful ways to try to survive and numb their personal adversity, both have trapped themselves in the protective armour of the allusions they’ve created about themselves so they can protect the truths- that they are hurting, that they are lost, that they are angry and sad. And, both find each other when they are both fighting to shift their lives- each figuring out who they are as adults and people outside of the painful histories that they’ve allowed to define them. And that leads to some earth shattering romance- yes, all the good steam, but even more so it was like watching two perfectly matched souls collide and then slowly weave themselves together thread by delicate thread. Their relationship feels natural and authentic as they become partners, as their love for each other reshapes what they thought was their purpose and helps them heal the pain that has consumed them both. Siobhan’s writing approach here was also nothing short of inspired- the first ½ of the book is intimate and slower paced, mostly one-on-one, with our leads mostly isolated from the pack- which really helps us swim around in this powerful connection before we get too deep into the intrigue and makes the drama to come that much more impactful.
And oh my- I have missed the Rydeville Elite world. Side by side with this touching, vibrant, and dynamic love story we have the seedy drama from the nefarious Elite. We get the page turning action and twists, the “just in time to save” the day moments that keep my heart pounding, and we get this kooky and endearing motley crue of Rydeville couples (and future couples) that have become this intense and functional family who support and protect other. I LOVE this crew- and I’m so glad we get time with each of them. Also- Sawyer REALLY shows up in this story in a fantastic way- and now I can’t wait for what is next from him.
Has this just become my favorite Siobhan story of all time?! This woman consistently rocks me- brings new and exciting characters and heart pounding stories into my life, but Jackson is truly spectacular- a story that I’m still left thinking, still left FEELING in my heart and soul days later. My words will never do it justice, so just pick it up and find out for yourself- you’ll find that the story of Jackson and Vanessa is surprising and shattering, beautiful and sweet- Siobhan, you continue to amaze me, but you’ve shattered and rebuilt my heart with this epic tale of two individuals recovering from their pain while also discovering themselves in their love for each other. I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH. I can’t wait to see what is in store next!
The range of emotions I experience when reading this was intense. I loved Vanessa. She was a fighter and a survivor and sacrificed so much. I felt pretty protective of her. I loved Jackson in previous books, but I was wary of him in this one. I just knew he was going to do something to upset me. But the level of rage I felt towards him. I loathed him at times, and I honestly haven’t forgiven him. Abby though. She is just the best of people, and I’m always so happy when she joins the story. The ending of this was so satisfying. I really enjoyed what happened to a couple of the characters, and part of me wonders if I should be concerned by that. But then I reflect on all they did, and I’m good.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. When I read the first book in the Rydeville Elite Series, I knew it was going to be amazing! As each character was introduced, you just knew that there was more to them so I was very pleased to find out that they would each be getting their own book in the series. I enjoyed Jackson’s character throughout the first three books and wanted to know more about him – figure out what caused him to be so broken. “Jackson” did not disappoint. He was a hot mess in the first few books; so to see him get his head on straight so to speak was great to read. Jackson doesn’t do anything half assed – he showed that in the way he protects the people he cares about and the way he loves. There were a couple of times I wanted to slap him on the head for being an ass, but he came thru in the end. I LOVED how characters from Siobahn’s other amazing books made an appearance! If you read the first 4 books in the Rydeville Elite series, you gotta check this one out. If you haven’t…what are you waiting for!!!
