“YOU’RE AT MY MERCY NOW, AMORE.”Sorry, bella. You got dealt the losing hand. Witness to a crime, you’re my prisoner now.I didn’t mean for things to happen this way,But tying you to my bed and making you scream is an unexpected pleasure. A privilege, really. And even if I did trust you, now that I’ve had a taste, I’m not sure I’d let you go…
I absolutely loved this book. Loved the sass of Corey and the edge of dominance of Stefano. They play off of each other well. Corey’s “red headed temper” is amusing as well, and gets her into a fair amount of trouble. Stefano has an intensity to him that just draws you in. And the chemistry between them in beyond hot. Very much loved this book.
Hot, funny, action packed, steamy love scenes, fall in love characters, what more could you ask for?! Twist and turns keep the reader guessing and even if you might know the ending… you also may be a little surprised how it turns out. Love love love
Jack of Spades is the second book in the Vegas Underground series this is Stefano and Corey’s storyline that is hot, sexy and steamy with angst and stress. This book was closer to a Mafia Romance for me. I look forward to reading book 3.
Hot alpha male, mafia, confident woman, family, suspense, lots of steam……………what more could you ask for in a story? Once I started reading this story I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the interactions between Stefano and Corey – from their first interaction when he undercover and testing her to his keeping her “prisoner” in his room to the ending. While there was lots of steamy interactions between them, there was also a progression in their relationship that kept you rooting for them to end up together in the end.
– ( #2)
Jack of Spades is the second installment of the Vegas Underground series. It follows a fiery redhead, Corey, who works as a croupier in the Bellissimo casino, and Stephano, who is head of security of said casino and the youngest son in the Tacone mafia family.

Our heroine is strong, knows what she wants but isnt willing to open up to love. The hero, stern but playful, a ladies man and ever the romantic. I love his actions and the amount of effort he put in to win her heart and helping her find herself.
The attraction was hot. And their love was devastating to read. More bdsm then the first book. However, not enough mafia business in the plot. Fast moving story filled with lots of steamy scenes, suspence and betrayal. I give this book 3 stars.

This book can be read as a stand alone but is connected to the series. Both characters have been mentioned in the previous book. Corey is Sondra’s cousin, our heroine from book 1; King of Diamonds. And Stephano is Nico’s younger brother.
:
Book 1: King of Diamonds
Book 3: Ace of Hearts
Book 4: Mafia Daddy
Book 5: Jokers Wild
Book 6: His Queen of Clubs
Book 7: Dead Mans Hand
Book 8: Wild Card
A great addition to this excellent series! I loved the grittiness of the story right from the beginning. The plot builds steadily and pulls you into the growing relationship between Stefan and Corey. Her contentious relationship with her father feeds into the dramatic tension that competes with your focus as you’re reading, with the hot, steamy and seriously well-described love scenes in the book. I enjoyed the whole story, it held my interest from start to finish, and I get distracted easily!
I loved this story so very much. I don’t entirely know what it was that worked so well for me, I just know that I loved Stefano and Corey’s book. I could have completely done without Corey’s father and I wish she had handled the whole situation in a very different way. However, the story wouldn’t have been close to the same angsty emotional drama.
I read a borrowed copy of this book.
Excitement and crackling interactions with wonderful characters, cheeky and hot as hell – a strong heroine and a mafia alpha with one soft spot – rousing and brilliantly written.
This book is the second in this series and I loved it even more than the first, if that’s possible. Stefano is the younger brother to nico, brought in to the casino to help lighten Nick’s work load. When he sees corey, Andrew’s cousin, sparks fly. Corey is a smart and feisty redhead working the casino floor, but after being moved to work in the private rooms she gets more involved than so bargained for. Their relationship gets twisted with sexual kinks. But with her estranged father breathing done her neck Corey tried to work things out on her own, causing the couple to doubt each other and danger looms. I loved the strange personalities of the couple and the banter between them.
Did you read book one of “Vegas Underground,” “King of Diamonds?” Then you’ll know who Corey is. If not, she’s graduated Cuma su lade and is the cousin to Sondra. You know, the wife of the fourth son of the Tacone Chicago Crime Family. He owns and operates the Bellissimo Casino in Las Vegas. Corey is a dealer there at the casino and was instrumental in helping Sondra get a job when she initially moved to Las Vegas. Stefano is Nico’s younger brother by three years. He’s returned from Sicily to Las Vegas to help Nico by being in charge of security at the casino. Stefano is the only one Nico can trust with helping him keep things legal. When these two meet there are fireworks from the first introduction and doesn’t stop throughout the entire book. Wondering what happens when two very strong, stubborn people come together? Then you absolutely do not want to miss out on this book. Or the three epilogues the author has written on Book+Main. I just love this.
I loved this book! Cory and Stefano were a perfect match. Strong and independent Cory has learned to guard her heart. Stefano sees beneath her exterior bravado. He falls in love quickly but will she put his family at risk? Another great read by Ms. Rose.
I don’t normally read mob books but this one wasn’t too bad. Stefano and Corey had a strong attraction and generated a load of heat.
I liked this book better than the first book, King of Diamonds because Corey was kicka$$. Although she succumbed to Stefano’s charms, she was strong, tough, and could hold her own.
This is a standalone book. You could easily read this and go back to read King of Diamonds. If you prefer to read in sequence, read book 1 first and it will give you more background into this book, Jack of Spades.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Sorry. It was just so so.
