Jack Daniel’s Whiskey sole responsibility was to make sure the ranch operated at a profit and he was damn good at his job. That’s because he much preferred sitting behind a desk crunching numbers than dealing with people. He left that up to his brothers and sister. So, when he was tasked with helping the newest employee, Annette Hannah become assimilated to life on Whiskey Ranch, JD wanted … nothing to do with the responsibility, much less the woman and her young toddler.
Only when Annette is injured JD finds himself having to help take of both mother and son.
The last thing Annette wanted to be to anyone again was a burden. She’d done that to her brother time and time again. All she wanted was a fresh start for her, and her son and the Whiskey family had given her that chance. Working as a horse trainer, she wanted to impress her new bosses, but the wild horse had other plans, and Annette ended up in the ER with a broken wrist and a sprained ankle. Once again, she had to rely on someone else. Only this time, it came in the form of the sexy, but reserved and emotionally unavailable, JD Whiskey.
When Annette no longer needs JD, will he be able to walk away, or will people have become more important than numbers, and will Annette allow the cowboy into her and her son’s heart?

Jack Daniels ‘JD’ Whiskey has been tasked with training Annette, the potential new manager of the horse training and riding school. Ordinarily he doesn’t have a lot to say, but suddenly he does.
Annette is Luke’s sister and she is looking forward to working with the horses on the Whiskey Ranch. Unfortunately the current manager Ron and his sidekick Larry aren’t very happy with her being on staff and JD steps in to do her orientation.
A couple of things happen early in this book regarding some new mustangs brought in to be trained. It’s thanks to some of the stunts her late ex-husband pulled that alerts Annette to something not being right, she just can’t figure out what.
After separating two of the horses from the rest, Annette and JD enter the pen. Only someone didn’t listen when JD told him to go home.
Now JD has noticed something rather startling, he is genuinely interested in her. Not as his usual type one night thing and that scares him. Especially since she has a son and he doesn’t want anything to do with kids.
The attraction is mutual and it’s quite the journey for realization to hit them both.
In spite of being a short book, there is plenty of intrigue, people showing up that shouldn’t, accidents that aren’t and a simmer to sizzle relationship.
I really can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is the third book in this wonderful series and I do feel that you will understand this book far more if yo have read the previous two books as the Whiskey family has plenty of dramas in their life This is Jack Daniels story. He is the quite one of the family the one who likes to sit back and not really interact with anyone at all but that is about to change in his life
Annette Hannah hasn’t had an easy life not only did she come from a bad family background but she is a widow with a young son Tony her brother Luke Hannah whose story is book two has helped her out a lot Now she has got a job as the new horse trainer at the whiskey ranch. JD is tasked with helping their latest employee has his sister hopes this will draw him out after he has retreated from life after a devastating loss What he doesn’t expect is that Annette will be hurt and he will have to care for not only her abut her young son as well. As they send more time together the attraction between them grows but can two people who are so damaged actually allow someone else in behind their walls You will have to read to see if they get a HEA
Although Jack Daniel’s Whiskey is one of the best horsemen, he is in charge of the financial end of Whiskey Ranch. When Annette Hannah arrives at the ranch with her young son Tony, JD plans for her to eventually take over the training management of the horses, but no plans to get involved with her. He doesn’t do commitment or kids. Annette’s brother Luke is living with JD’s sister Georgia Moon and both Annette and Luke have lived through an abusive and tragic childhood. JD has his own past issues, but when Annette is first injured and then threatened, he will be the one to take care of her and keep both her and Tony safe. Will he quit living with the fears of the past and open himself to a future of family and love? I love a series with connecting characters and this is one of the best! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
A wonderful story between two individuals that have had a tragic past. Family helps them survive. A book filled with mystery, suspense, and romance. I loved this book and the series. Looking forward to the next one.
This is JD’s story. He’s had a lot of heartbreak in his life. Annette is hired to be the manager of the horse training side of things. But a lot of old troubles come into play and there are a series of consequences. HEA.

Two people with secrets that puts walls up around their hearts fight their attraction to each other. Suffrage-fuse and violence interferes and threatens to end any chance they have of a happy ever after.
Once again the Whiskey family comes together to fight evil.
Couldn’t put it down until the very end.

I’m not even sure what to say about this book. There’s a lot going on in here and if you haven’t read the books before this, you might not understand what it all means. To be honest, even though I’ve read those books, there were still a couple of times where I had some problems keeping track of everything that was happening. In Luke’s book, we learned a little about Annette’s past, but JD has a tragic backstory all his own, and it was nothing I was expecting. Together, this pair are all sparks and fireworks – the good and the bad kind. One of the things I’m appreciating the most about this series is the couples’ ability to talk honestly with one another. It’s a rare trait in the wide world and I love seeing it here. After all the drama and secrets of the first three books, I’m dying to see what’s waiting for the last Whiskey sibling.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
When is it time to take off the widower’s weed and go back to the land of the living? Annette comes on board to use her skills in training his horses. JD is attracted to her, but stays closed off. She has had an abusive and gruesome childhood that followed her around. Two broken people take a risk to see if there is a reward at the end of the rainbow. It’s great to read a book where the characters face adversity head on. Another great book for the family!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Another in the Whiskey family series, this is JD’s story, and he is tasked with helping Annette, their new horse training manager, to settle in. There is a lot of back history that’s explored in this book, and it makes it one definitely not to miss if you’re invested in this family and their story. There are glimpses (sometimes more) of the other Whiskey siblings and JD and Annette explore their relationship against this backdrop. Trust needs to be established, and that too has to happen against a stressful and dangerous background. This is, so far, my favorite of the series.
I received a free copy of this book, and these views are my own.
Jack Daniel’s is the third installment of the It’s All in the Whisky Series. This book centers on Jack Daniels, or JD, one of the brothers who owns and operates Whiskey Ranch and Annette, who is hired by his sister Georgia Moon to come in and help with the horse training program, with her young son, Tony.
There is a zing of attraction between these two from the start but they each have serious emotional scars from traumatic events in their past. Neither is looking for involvement or attachment of any kind, but they both keep being drawn together and when his sister, Georgia Moon, volunteers JD to help show Annette the ropes things get a lot more complicated.
There are some who feel threatened by Annette’s arrival at the ranch and feel resentment towards her and her brother Luke, who also works at the ranch and is engaged to Georgia Moon. They have a dark, horrific past that has been kept buried and only the Whiskey clan are aware but consequences of actions from some of their past have followed them onto the ranch and hostility and danger rears its ugly head.
Aside from their tragic past, the Whiskey siblings have trouble of their own and it is still lingering and threatening in new ways to them and those they love. JD tries to keep an emotional distance from Annette and her son but after an almost fatal accident, he jumps in to help her and Tony while she is recovering and bittersweet memories and guilt rise to the surface and he is unable to escape. When he and Annette stop fighting their attraction and become involved, things get even more complicated and he realizes that he finally has to share his burden then move on. No attachments are the words he lives by. But when an event occurs that brings all his emotional walls crashing down, JD realizes that he will do whatever it takes to protect Annette and Tony. The past will not repeat itself again.
I enjoyed JD’s and Annette’s characters in this story and revisiting with the rest of the Whiskey clan. I really liked the upfront and honest conversations they always had; it was refreshing to see such openness between two people even before their relationship started, and with the rest of the siblings as well. They never lied or kept secrets and they always banded together to help and solve problems. It was nice to see such closeness and bonding between them all.
The only “little” negative thought I had while reading this one was the fact that so much information was explained and detailed regarding their past and ongoing troubles relating to a rival family out for revenge (starts in book one) I felt like it overshadowed the developing relationship between JD and Annette some. I really would have liked to have seen more of a balance between the family drama and their interactions. But that was just a personal thought on my part and overall, the story was really good and I am looking forward to the next in the series.
This is a book that you need to read in order in the series to understand the complete storyline arc that starts in book one. You can read this one as a standalone but there is a lot of information shared that could be confusing if you are not aware of the entire background of the siblings and their family’s drama.
*I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
