I was beyond blown away by Jack’s book that I read it in one day. We first meet him in Nikolai and I knew immediately his story would be more emotional and intense. He was a broody guy with secrets, yet he portrayed a guy that was carefree. He was a player with the girls, his motto was pretty much one time then walk away. In this book we get to see behind his façade and that deep down he is actually a caring guy that has a heart of gold, but he can’t and doesn’t want to acknowledge that, until Ava comes along.
Ava was a great character because she had her own secrets and been through quite a bit, yet she didn’t let it define her, she would still smile and try to be thankful for where she is at now. Ava and Jack together were amazing, they definitely had the chemistry but they both had their secrets. Ava shares her secrets to Jack, but Jack is reluctant to let anyone in too far even if his feelings for Ava have intensified. My heart hurt for Jack because his family may have had money, but that didn’t matter because he was treated awful by his parents, that had a horrible marriage, and that was why he kept pushing Ava away.
I loved how their story goes back to the party where they first meet in Nikolai, but it doesn’t repeat the story previously we just get other details and point of views. There is some drama, mystery, heartache, and definitely so more Nikolai. Overall Jack is amazing and at the end we glimpses of other characters/potential couples and I’m already looking forward to more.
This is the second book in the #dangerousloveseries but you can definitely read this one without reading the first book which is what I did. There were references to the story before you met Jack and Ava that made me feel like I was missing out on a great story so I’ve added #Nikolai to my #tbr pile. Anyway, back to #jack…I felt like this book was a perfect summer read. Every time I’d put the book down I found myself reflecting on what had already happened and what was going to come next. I loved how we are shown throughout the story where both Jack and Ava came from that made them who they were when they met. It revealed their struggles, vulnerabilities and strengths. I think the two characters balanced each other so well, which I guess is what you are ultimately looking for in books and in real life really. As I read the book I was surprised that things could be getting so serious (lots of mystery/suspense going on) and then there would be humor that made me laugh and things would lighten up. Oh and there was plenty of sexy stuff too! Over all I thought the book was pretty great and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
Having never read anything by Kristin Alexander I was blown away by her and I LOVED this book. Jack and Ava are great characters individually and I love them as a couple. I absolutely fell in love with Jack from page 1 and continued to fall head over heals for him. The story was fast paced and entertaining filled with all kinds of sexy times. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a flirty, dirty read, filled with a lovable Alpha male, trust me you won’t regret it.
