Enjoyed this romantic suspense novel by Fiona Quinn!
Story was a bit slow unfolding and I really disliked the slanted view of “Hound News” idiotic! I felt very little sympathy for any of the characters, very disappointing. I did struggle though to the end as I really enjoyed book 1 and want to enjoy the series but that won’t happen if the rest are like this book.
this is a good story if you like adult suspense and romance you will want to read the series
I absolutely loved this book! Jack has dated Suz for a year. His engagement ring is on her right hand because she won’t say yes. After Jack ends up jumping off a 3 story building right before it blows, thanks to Lynx’s test of Jack Be Nimble Jack Be Quick, and lands feet first on a moving car and needing surgery, Suz decides she can’t take his dangerous job any more. Before she can break up with him the school and where she teaches 1st grade is attacked by terrorist and 2 children, grandsons of a politician, are kidnapped. Suz also disappears. Jack knows she didn’t leave on her own and Lynx suspects this too. The search is on for the children and Suz. I loved the “knowings” that Lynx kept getting regarding Jack and nursery rhymes. This author has a way of pulling you into her books and you don’t want to leave!
SHEW!!! This is one of those books that grabs you at page one and doesn’t let you go until the last word is read. Fiona Quinn is a new author to me and this is the first book of hers that I’ve read. It definitely won’t be the last.
Suz is a docile, peaceful, calm first-grade teacher who is almost engaged to Jack, a special ops kinda guy who throws his life in danger at the drop of a hat. He’s former military who is now working for a private firm, but still doing what he’s always done. Oh, the “almost engaged” thing? See, Suz isn’t sure that she can commit to someone who is away more than home and constantly in danger. So she wears her ring on her right hand until she can decide.
She’s just made one more trip to the hospital after Jack was injured on his last mission. She can’t do this anymore. She’s finally made her decision. Or so she thought. The very next day her school is attacked by terrorists and thanks to Jack all of her students make it out and are kept safe due to his preparation for just such an occurrence. Just as she thinks all is safe and her life will soon be back to normal the same terrorists show up at her door. They take her hostage and she is suddenly thrown into the midst of the world that Jack lives in. Now the tables are turned and it’s up to her to make it out alive.
WOW! Is one of the words that describe this book. It’s written in alternating POVs between Jack and Suz. You can feel the anxiety of each. Ms Quinn’s writing pulls you into the story and keeps you in the midst of the action the entire time.
