J is for…. nothing? There’s nothing on the BDSM checklist that starts with the letter J. That should mean Grif and Davina, an established Dom/sub pair, will have an easy time with the Checklist Game. But when the overseers of Las Palmas, LA’s most exclusive club, challenge them to push their personal boundaries, they’ll find that they don’t know each other as well as they think.Grif wants more … think.
Grif wants more from Davina—they’re perfect together as master and submissive, but despite the intimacy of their power exchange, they’re essentially strangers. He doesn’t even know her last name.
Davina needs submission, and the only man she trusts to Master her is Grif. She trusts him with her body, but not with her secrets. She wants to keep it that way, but once they start playing the game, will she be able to keep her past hidden from the man she might be falling in love with?
A simple challenge, a complicated relationship, and a night that could change everything.

The letter J is another journey that was surprising, even though by now i should be expecting it….
Because even the bonded couples have a challenge that will take them out of their comfort zone.
Grif and Davina have been playing together for a long time, and even though they know eachother’s bodies intimately, and their preferences, they know nothing of eachother’s lives outside Las Palmas.
When Davina joined Las Palmas, she did so as a switch, and planning scenes with Grif is one of the things she enjoys.
Even though he’s been the Dom in their “relationship” for a while,Grif enjoys the joint planning of their scenes, but he wants more than just play,he wants to know who Davina is in real life.
Because he has feelings for her,but worries she might be with someone else….
The letter J gives him the opportunity to take full control of their scene, and he plans to take her all the way into subspace.
Everything goes as planned,until….she safewords?
What made her do that, what did he do wrong?
This was a journey that went back into Davina’s history, laying bare the trauma that still lingers.
The way they dealt with it in the end was perfect for them, and i applaud them for being open to finding that solution.
Another fantastic read from the series. This couple was much different than the ones we have been previously introduced to. Their connection wasn’t ever in question, it was their deeper feelings in the outside world that were. Amazing story! I also didn’t realize the lack of things beginning with the letter J. The jewelry was an interesting choice. So much more sensual, mental.
Simply adore the way Griffin Creeley and Davina Kapadia get to really know each other and discover more about themselves individually. This book made me a fan of the bdsm lifestyle
Sweet lawd that was hawt!! In the most simplest ways. I truly think it was in the anticipation of what came next. Where in the other stories it was hard and understood what you were getting.. this one I have no words to do it justice.
i love the checklist series! Each book can be read as a standalone and enjoyed but why not read them all. Okay this one is really different than the others, like totally different. In this book we meet a couple that are bonded but have no idea what each other do outside of the Club. Weird right? Davina and Grif have been given the letter J and neither have anything on the list for that letter. Both are normally Doms and Davina is also a switch when they play. As I read this book it had me thinking of my own life, which is what a good book should do right. It is well written and keeps your attention from start to finish. I am so looking forward to more in the checklist in the coming months.
Davina and Grif are a bonded pair based on a partnership which does not go outside the walls of Las Palmas. The couple believe they know each other’s needs and wants. The letter J is assigned to Davina and Grif which proves to be a challenge in self-discovery and awareness for the couple. L. DuBois continues to cleverly address each letter with unique characters and letter challenges. J surprisingly demonstrates the most romantic side of the letters thus far.
Grif and Davina have been bonded BDSM partners for a couple of years at Las Palmas. They are a perfect pairing sexually, but drawing the letter J in the checklist game ends up sending Davina into a tailspin, leaving Grif desperately trying to understand what went wrong before he loses the woman he loves.
Lila DuBois once again serves up a compelling, sensuous, and steamy romance with highly likable characters and an emotional storyline. Those hot and sexy BDSM scenes are droolworthy! I loved it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Bonded lovers for 2 years that don’t know anything about the other outside of their cocoon of their BDSM club!! Grif and Davina want more but are afraid to act. Lila DuBois’ Checklist books are all unique and each couple so interesting. This book as in all this series, focuses on one couple with a unique situation and how it resolves. The book moves quickly, is a page turner, and a great read!!

Maybe in this case J is for… Journey.
We focus on the main characters in the Checklist books, but I would like to bring to light the Overseers who orchestrate this game.
If you pay attention you can see that it is more than just some random drawing out of a hat to match players with letters.
I think they are quite devious and have put a lot of thought and consideration into their selections.
For more than the purpose of broadening the BDSM experience, but I think they fancy themselves as a kind of parent, or maybe matchmakers. Whatever you want to call it they truly care about the people in their club and want them to reach their potential in play and in life.
As you can see they have been quite successful with letters A – J. Davina and Grif are just the latest success story. I am looking forward to K is for… I wonder what the overseers will be up to next and who their victims will be.
Happy Reading:)
I really like these characters and this story. It was a fresh take on an established duo that still had lots to learn about each other. It was fun, interesting, and very sexy, to go on this ride with them!
I have read the previous books in this series, and I can honestly say that each book is better than the last. I was so surprised and happy that J was quite different from the previous books. This series so special to me. Each story is unique.
Davina and Grif are bonded lovers, friends and partners in their BDSM relationship. That being said, they are strangers to each other. There is no relationship outside of the club. The club overseers issue Grif and Davina a challenge, which will have them questioning everything about their relationship and what brought them together in the first place. The challenge for this bonded couple made perfect sense.
I fell in love with these two. They are funny and at ease with each other. Their scenes, especially the checklist one, are hot and perfectly written. I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes at one point.
I loved that they were willing to talk with each other, even though it was difficult. It just shows that their relationship had a solid foundation on which to build. The care and love they have for each other was really touching.
The checklist books are never long enough for me. I always wish I had more time to spend with characters that I love! I cannot wait for K!!
Love with the proper stranger. The concept of two people being in a very intimate BDSM relationship for two years and not knowing anything personal about one another is intriguing. Lila Dubois explores this concept fully, building the intensity to culminate in a few “aha” moments. Life often throws us off balance and when we right ourselves it’s often in a better new normal.
Davina and Grif are lovers, friends and equal partners in their BDSM relationship. They have familiarity without emotion. That is until the Las Palmas overseers decide to make Davina and Grif push their emotional envelope. They have to step outside their comfort zone in order to fulfill their weekend challenge. Suddenly things aren’t aren’t quite so casual as their roles are redefined . Old feelings surface and new ones both disturb and delight Grif and Davina. The real challenge will be how to reconcile the old familiar with the new them.
Davina and Grif are a bonded pair at the Club and their weekends there are … “satisfactory” and predictable for both. Other than that they know nothing about each other.
When they get the letter J as their challenge from the devious club managers, they are in for a surprise.
Striving to meet the challenge they, very slowly, tumble into forbidden territory. Too many feelings, not enough communication.
But! When they dare to open up the surprises just tumble out of the … , no not woodwork, out of the chains!
Their highly sensuous slow burn that turns into a blaze, ends with a hilarious, intentional role muddle and a promise.
As always too short, hot and sumptuous!
Grif and Davina are a bonded pair, but they don’t see each other outside of La Palmas. When their alphabet challenge brings them to a crossroads will they break apart or become more? Again amongst the sexy sensual world of BDSM we see the real people behind the masks of control. I love that these two individuals have been equals and in this world partners. Surprising twists give this sexy fun read an emotional jolt and make it also a sweet falling in love story.
4 ½ Stars! Book 10 in the BDSM checklist series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Told in dual POV with HEA and no cheating. I liked that even thought there were no specific kinks for the letter J Davinia and Grif were still challenged. They had to step out of their comfort zone to learn to trust each other and themselves in order to find the balance to take their relationship to the next level. Loved this quick steamy read!
Loved this book about a bonded pair that only knew each other thru their club learning to trust each other and falling in love, yet not really knowing each other outside of the club…each must decide if they will seek full trust and then love or go their separate ways.
Right from the beginning, I could tell that this book was different from the other books in the series (so far). There is more going on here than you can see, to begin with, more than just a game thrown at them by the overseers. It’s more than just something to knock them out of their comfort zones, and that is what made this such an amazing read.
Davina and Grif are in a D/s relationship, but only inside the club. They know nothing about each other in the real world, but know everything about each other’s bodies, their wants and needs (or so they think). When the overseers game leads them down a path that neither are prepared for, things go from heated to electrically charged.
This book was a total surprise. I was prepared for heavy BDSM elements, a few surprises (this author always manages to take me off guard, even when I’m looking for it!) and some romance, but I wasn’t ready for the amazing connection that Davina and Grif had. I wasn’t expecting there to be such a sweet story hiding behind the BDSM world they are immersed in. And I never could have anticipated that ending! Absolutely perfect story!
J is my New Favorite Letter!!
Davina and Grif are members of an exclusive BDSM club. They have been bonded for two years, so know each other fairly well – within the walls of the club. They do not know each other’s last names or any personal details outside their carefully scripted interactions.
When they are assigned the letter “J” in a game designed to inspire the members in the club, there are consequences that could never have been imagined. A dynamic shift in the relationship which might ruin everything.
I am enjoying this series, but “J” completely blew me away. The intricacies of this relationship, and the revelations of past, and the depth of current feelings bring chills to the reader. Breathtaking read!!
