I’ve Got You, Babe is the second book in he Must Love Babies series. It can be read as a standalone, as I haven’t read the first book and I had no problem reading this one. This story is set in a small town where everyone knows you, and your business. At times I felt like I was right there with the characters in the middle of it all. Ex-Marine Tucker comes off as rough and growly, but he really is a big softy trying to adjust to civilian life and forget the things he’s seen in action. It does touch on PTSD.
Single mom Elisa always puts her daughter Daisy first, but with so many things happening at once, and no one to depend on, the stress is to much for her. I liked the characters, they were relatable. Little Daisy made me smile. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I wil be grabbing more from her. I like the way she tells her stories, with so much emotion and love.
I received this from Netgalley.
Small town romances are so good. Misty Bottoms sounds like an idyllic place to live and raise children. This was emotional with both characters having a lot of baggage, but they survive beautifully, after some soul searching, some rocky parts and letting go of pasts that cannot be changed. Loved Tucker, demons, OCD and all lol, how he made it thru changes and fell in love with Daisy and her beautiful and courageous Mommy, Elisa. Mostly, a feel good romance with a bit of a scare when Daisy has to have emergency surgery.
Cast of characters was quite eclectic, they were always quick to help out tho and Elisa was in awe as she’d never had someone who cared enough about her, that is just part of small town goodness.
Great story, it did read just a bit slow in places, but I still enjoyed it.

What can I say about this audiobook? Well, I’m in love with Tucker Wilder, I want to move to Misty Bottoms, Georgia, and I want to work in the bookstore with Elisa. Oh, and Eric Michael Summerer is now one of my favorite narrators ever!
It’s unbelievable that I had a difficult time getting into the first book of the series. I must not have been paying attention because this book had me from the very beginning when she fainted in Tucker’s garage. This big, grumpy, “wants to be left alone”, man has gotten himself into a pickle. He is too kind not to help, but also too messed up in the head to help. The interactions between Daisy and Tucker are so sweet and funny. He’s a neat freak, so his anxiety of having a three year old around his perfect house was amusing in itself. I could picture him falling in love with this adorable, little girl. It was enduring how Elisa and Daisy helped chip away the PTSD that Tucker suffers from by fighting in the Middle East. In return, he helps heal Elisa from a lifetime of rejection. There is a “shocking surprise” in the story, but that’s all I’ll say about it. I also appreciate the fact that even though it was a romance book, it was not raunchy and the profanity was kept down to a minimum because there is a three year old around the house.
I love the family atmosphere and how the brothers love each other. I laughed so much at Gavin and cannot wait for his story to come out.
I’ve Got You Babe is a wonderful romance with heart-warming and heart-breaking moments. Tucker is a troubled former Marine and Elise is a single mom with a precious little girl, Daisy. It takes place in a small town, full of good-hearted, nosy people. It was fun to watch Tucker fall for both Elisa and Daisy despite all his reluctance not to get involved.
This story comes with bits of everything, painful pasts and demons to overcome, blossoming romance, creating new lives, and finding home… it’s an emotional one certain to put a squeeze on the heart. I loved every minute of this one, the characters had me growing attached to them within a matter of pages, you just couldn’t help but feel their pain, love for one another, and the natural connection that they had. It was so beautiful to watch them heal, embrace this second chance at life they’d been given, and become a family. I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it’s an unforgettable journey that will be good on your heart, and leave you smiling!

Mary Jo –
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Tucker’s initial response to Elisa and Daisy’s situation is one of caring yet wariness. His time in military left him with deep scars – more than the ones on his skin – and he’s afraid. He doesn’t want anyone to know about his nightmares, of how he doesn’t sleep. Since he works with his brothers, there is no way he can hide everything from them.
Elisa is also a person that doesn’t like her weaknesses known. She’s independent – she has to be as a single mom. Fainting in front of Tucker Wilder is not her best moment. Finding out that she needs to stay in town (which she can’t afford) is something that she doesn’t need now. She needs to get to her mother’s place so that she will have a roof over her head for her and her daughter.
There’s something about Elisa that calls to Tucker. He can’t let her leave town, nor can he let her stay in a hotel room until the doctor pronounces her well. He wants to take care of her, which is something that he’s never wanted to do with anyone else.
Elisa is wary of Tucker’s motives, yet she senses his good heart. Taking a chance for both her and Daisy, she agrees to stay with him until she’s back on her feet healthwise. What she didn’t plan on was how much her daughter comes to love her “Tut.” If Daisy loves Tucker, he can’t be all bad, right?
This is a book that I couldn’t put down and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

M/F Romance
Triggers: PTSD
I want to start this review by saying that I did not read book one in the series, but never felt that I was missing anything.
Tucker and his brothers run a very successful business restoring cars and bikes. They absolutely love what they do and despite the business side of things, they love working with each other. When Tucker is at work, he meets a woman who literally falls at his feet.
Elisa has not had it easy. She has absentee parents and married someone who, it turned out, wasn’t her knight in shining armor. However, she has the most adorable daughter. And despite all of the hardships, Elisa still wants to find a good life for herself and her daughter.
Misty Bottoms is a community of people who genuinely care about each other. You have people who will go out on a limb to help those who are new. It was a sweet story about finding your place in life, letting go of guilt, and simply being happy.
The relationship between Tucker and Elisa was decent, however, with Elisa’s secret it seemed like it was a huge deal. Then the big reveal was anticlimactic. My favorite character was Daisy. She was feisty, adorable, and helped move the story along.
Overall, this was a cute story, but lacked chemistry among the main characters.

I’ve Got You, Babe by Lynnette Austin is book two in the Must Love Babies Series. This is the story of Tucker Wylder and Elisa Danvers. I have yet read the previous books so for me this was a standalone book. Tucker has returned to Misty Bottoms, Georgia after getting out of the marines. Although he puts on a fun loving guy he has demons that are always present for him. Elisa is a single mother who is just working to get by with all that is going on. Of course they both find themselves very attracted to each other but both have things to work out. Elisa with her big heart does try to help Tucker deal and he wants to protect her and his heart is quickly being taking over by Daisy Elizabeth who has her eye on him for father material.
Enjoyed their story.
This is the second book in Must Love Babies book series and although I didn’t read Book #1 I didn’t have any problems with reading this as a standalone, but I may have to read the first one if it’s as good as this one. If you’re looking for a heartwarming, emotional, sweet read, look no more — this was very enjoyable, well-developed plot with interesting characters, not to mention that the survival’s guilt angle was very thought-provoking. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
4.5 Stars!
What a well-written novel from author Lynnette Austin. I’ve Got You Babe entices you right from the first chapter and the engaging plot never loses its momentum. The three primary characters, librarian Elisa Danvers, her three year old daughter Daisy, and former Marine Tucker Wylder, the co-owner of a vintage car restoration business, accidentally find their together forever. Their journey to become a family is replete with desire, trust and forgiveness. This is the second book from the author’s Bachelors and Babies series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
After losing her job due to budget constraints, Elisa and Daisy are traveling north to her uncaring mother’s non-lived-in condo. She is deeply in debt, hungry, and needs a place to live. Unfortunately, Elisa has no support system. Always putting her daughter’s needs ahead of her own, she passes out immediately after seeking help from Tucker regarding her beater of a car. Although Tucker prefers his quiet and solitary life, while dealing with his demons from a deployment gone wrong, he feels compelled to give Elisa and Daisy a place to stay while Elisa recovers. Overtime, they form a family.
This is an intoxicating small town romance with a meaningful plot and well-defined characters. Ms. Austin is an excellent storyteller and her words kept me glued to edge of my seat. Daisy is beyond cute, and I could not help loving her character. Elisa and Tucker pack a lot of heat, even though their sexy times are primarily behind closed doors. If you enjoy a novel with a strong heroine and a man that truly defines the word hero, then check out this book. Overall, this is an exciting story that twists and turns in all the right places.

Fortunately for Elisa Danvers and her daughter Daisy Elizabeth (so cute!) she arrives at Wylder Rides, vintage car restoration, before her car breaks down and she passes out. Former Marine Tucker Wylder saves her from major injury and catches her just in time. Although heading to her mother’s condo, Elisa really has no one to turn to and nowhere to go and she must remain in Misty Bottoms until she is able to move on. Tucker or “Tut” as Daisy calls him, is battling PTSD and guilt over the death of his former comrades. He invites Elisa and Daisy to stay at his home until he can fix her car and she can travel. He is a “neat freak” so the scenes as his house gradually becomes a “home” are so entertaining. Will Elisa and Daisy be able to breach Tucker’s defenses or will he return to his neat and lonely bachelor status. Great characters by Ms. Austin, including super cute Daisy. This is the second book in the series, but Ms. Austin provides information about the characters from the first book (I would still advise you to read the first one as that was a great story too). I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
4 Star review of I’ve Got You Babe (Bachelors & Babies #2) by Lynnette Austin
Sometimes all it takes is a word or a phrase jumping out from a blurb to reel you in. For me it was Misty Bottoms, Georgia.
This was a sweet romance between former Marine Tucker Wylder wants and single mum Elisa Danvers and her young daughter Daisy. Elisa is at the end of her rope with no-one she can depend on, until Tucker takes them under his protection.
The characters were likeable and easy to relate too and Daisy just about melted my heart on occasion. There were times that I thought my face would crack from the smiles and then there were times that it made me tear up.
The relationship that built between Tucker and Daisy was so heartwarming and made me smile.
A heart warming story that will surely tug on your emotions. Will Tucker and Elisa be able to put their pasts behind them and take a chance at happiness or are these lost and damaged souls destined to be alone forever?

The people are friendly, and they are always ready to lend a hand,

However, he cannot resist Daisy, Elisa’s daughter.
Daisy is a firecracker.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Tucker Wylder owns Wylder Rides, a vintage car and motorcycle restoration business with his two brothers. They have five days to finish restoring a custom ’63 Corvette for a Hollywood executive. Time to get the job done! Tucker is busy working, laying on the creeper partially under the Vette, when he hears a car approach and stop outside. It is too early for his brothers to start work so who can this be? Whoever it is needs a new car since what he hears is a dying car outside. Then he hears the sound of heels on the concrete floor and sees legs, the longest, sexiest legs which has him just about drooling. From there his gaze travels upward to view the “real deal,” the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. As he starts to get up to question why this beauty is in his garage the woman, Elisa Danvers sways and starts falling. Tucker catches her just before she hits the floor. Now he has an unconscious woman on his hands and to add to the stress he hears a child crying in Elisa’s car. What to do first? He makes the call to 911 to get an ambulance on the way. The child, three-year-old Daisy is crying for her Mommy. Tucker grits his teeth, what does he know about little girls, and drives little Daisy to the hospital. The cute little girl talks his ear off the whole way to the hospital and renames him “Tut.” The wall around his heart starts to crack. What is he going to do with this cutest of little girls and her sick beautiful Mommy?
I’ve Got You, Babe by Lynnette Austin is the second book in her Must Love Babies series. This book features the oldest Wylder brother, ex-Marine Tucker Wylder. This is such a wonderful series and this second book continues the author’s trip into the warm and friendly small town of Misty Bottoms, GA and the lives of the Wylder brothers. (This is also the setting for Austin’s previous series, Magnolia Brides which I highly recommend.)
I can’t say enough good things about this super story. The storyline is sweet, poignant and full of warmth. I smiled throughout as I read along also with many chuckles and guffaws. There were tears too on the way to Elisa’s and Tucker’s HEA. Lynnette Austin’s characters are real and relatable. I fell in love with Elisa, Tucker and little Daisy. Elisa is so strong and determined to make a go of it even as she is down on her luck. Tucker is the big, bad, tough ex-Marine on the outside but it turns out he is soft and squishy on the inside with a heart of gold even with his issues from a deadly incident during his tour in Afghanistan. Then there’s Daisy, the cutest, endearingly rambunctious, most precious little three-year-old girl that will steal your heart in a New York minute. Readers will laugh at her parroting the swear words Tut keeps letting slip. She will surely have you wrapped around her little finger just like “Tut.” I loved this story and readers who enjoy small town romance with lots of warmth and laughter will too!
The story of Tucker Wylder and Elisa Danvers is one that will touch your hearts.
Tucker, a former Marine, owns, with his brothers, a car and motorcycle restoration garage. He’s come back from the war a changed man. One that has isolated himself from everyone and is full of survivor’s guilt. Elisa, single mom to adorable Daisy, is down on her luck. When her car breaks down in front of the garage and ends up fainting in front of Tucker, they didn’t realize that their lives would change forever.
The plot is engaging and the characters perfect in their imperfections. At times you will laugh out loud, at others cry for the characters. Life has thrown them both curveballs in life and neither is sure how to survive their past. A past that has greatly influenced their present. When fate brings forward the unexpected, they will either let their budding love be shattered, or become stronger for it.
A wonderful story that you will remember for a very long time.
Can’t wait to see what else this talented author has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A sweet small town romance. I was hooked from the start. Loved watching Tucker fall, despite his reluctance, fall for Elisa and Daisy. Daisy was just the cutest little girl. The ending left me wanting more. Can’t wait for another visit to Misty Bottoms. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
We have a story or two people people who were not expecting each other but who truly needed each other especially now. They were dealing with painful pasts and getting over some demons and thankfully getting to know each other and being exactly what they never expected. It is a book with a whole bunch of feels, and you will and will be so happy that these 2 will be given a second chance and become a real family.. Enjoy!
Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
Tucker Wylder isn’t returning to Misty Bottoms as the man he use to be, that man is now replaced with a man that is swimming in regret and excruciating pain. He’s hoping he can just bury himself in work at the garage, and the demon’s he is carrying will just slip away. Solitude is what he craves, he just wants to have to worry about himself, and nothing else, no other complications.
But that becomes easier said then done when a beautiful stranger and her three year old daughter come crashing into his world. He doesn’t want to get involved with them, but with Elisa’s health and her three year old daughter needing to be cared for, he can’t help but embrace his need to caring and compassionate. What starts off as nothing more than a helping hand quickly becomes something else, something that Elisa and Tucker never planned on finding!
I’ve Got You, Babe is a story that should not be missed, between it’s lovable characters and heartfelt words it’s certain to be a memorable read. This story line comes with bits of everything, painful pasts and demons to overcome, blossoming romance, creating new lives, and finding home… it’s an emotional one certain to put a squeeze on the heart. I loved every minute of this one, the characters had me growing attached to them within a matter of pages, you just couldn’t help but feel their pain, love for one another, and the natural connection that they had. It was so beautiful to watch them heal, embrace this second chance at life they’d been given, and become a family… they made my heart so happy! I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it’s an unforgettable journey that will be good on your heart, and leave you smiling!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
This wonderful romantic small town story was like a breath of cool air on a hot summer day! I laughed a lot, cried a little and fell in love with a sweet little girl named Daisy.
Tucker Wylder is one of the three Wylder brothers running Wylde Rides. A well known shop that restores vintage cars to their past glory. Tuck is a former Marine, a neat freak and shouldering a lot of survivors guilt. He has a home he loves, his family, but most of the time prefers his own company.
When a beautiful woman literally faints at his feet, he is terrified, and add a wailing toddler in the back seat of her car, adds to it. The beautiful fainting woman is Elise Danvers, divorced, laid off from her job and broke. The toddler’s name is Daisy, and once Tuck “Tut” agrees to take her to her mom, she calms down. Elise was heading to Charleston, but ends up having to spend some time in Misty Bottoms, Georgia. Between her ancient relic of a car, and a few health problems, she is stuck. But the characters in this small very friendly town, make her their own, especially Tucker.
The life of a single mom on her own and Tucker’s suffering from survivors guilt are handled beautifully. It shows how the emotions of war are not left behind when you leave. All Elise needed was a break, and the townspeople gave it to her. This is the second in the Wylder brother’s stories, it can be read as a stand alone, but the first book is equally as enjoyable a read.
I thank the publisher and author for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is a cute small town romance. Tucker Wylder owns a successful vintage car restoration company with his brothers in Misty Bottoms Georgia. He is dealing with survivor’s guilt from his stint in the Marines where his four best friends died. He likes his ordered life and is keeping everyone at arms length. Elisa Danvers walks into his shop, passes out and completely upends his orderly life. Since Elisa’s toddler daughter, Daisy, cannot accompany her in the ambulance, Tucker follows her to the doctor. Elisa is down on her luck, she is a single mom, her daughter has health issues, she has no family support, and she just lost her job. Tucker takes in Elisa and Daisy, so Elisa can recover. Tucker and Elisa are very likable characters. Both of them have so much baggage, that it takes time for the relationship to develop. I really love Daisy and Tuck’s (or as Daisy calls him Tut) relationship. Tuck doesn’t just fall in love with Elisa, he develops parental feelings for Daisy as well. This is a very sweet story and a nice addition to the series.
Cute
