PS. From Rascal, the dog: “Why would you want to read this silly cat book instead of Goofy Newfies? I don’t understand, but I’ll forgive you because I’m a loving gentle giant. Dogs love their hoomans more than anything. Cats barely tolerate their peeple, and they like to play scratchy-bleedy games. No, thank you!”
PPS. From Morty, the cat: “I won’t even touch on that dumb dog’s atrocious spelling. Cats are obviously more intelligent and have more discerning tastes than dogs. Silly old dogs will love anyone unconditionally, but you have to earn a cat’s love. Cats rule and dogs drool… literally.”

I love stories where the furbabies play major roles rather than just being minor sidenotes! I could totally see every single thing they all got up to. I did have to wonder why every dog’s name started with R though. The letters from the 4-legs to their humans were a really nice, cute touch. I loved all the human characters, too, though I didn’t have a really good handle on Van for some reason. Not sure why. This was a sweet, fun romance that I read in one sitting. Loved it!
Itty Bitty Kitties (The Pet Set Book 2) by Ann Omasta. I have read several books by this author and I was excited to read the follow up to Goofy Newfies. The story itself was a cute and adorable as those little guys on the cover! I thought it was a sweet, good hearted romance with a little humor and drama mixed in to keep it fun and interesting. A nice change of pace for my and my reading habits of late. I recommend this book and author to others.

Goofy Newfies #1- Warning this book will hurt you! It’s been awhile since I belly laughed my way through a book. Every page had me rolling on the floor till my sides ached. The storylines are cute and interesting. I liked all the characters, some were actually cute and interesting and furry; the humans were likable and nice to have as neighbors.
Of everyone had their own personalities, whether two or four legged. This is a sweet, clean, wholesome read and it’s perfect for a kids’ bedtime story. I luckily got to chain read the second book. Not only was it great to read a good humor and love filled story, but it was well edited. 5*
Itty Bitty Kitties #2 – This book is almost as funny as Goofy Newfies. There still are plenty of belly laughs, but there’s a touch of gravity with a couple of issues. We’re still in the same neighborhood, just next door and with two new, scratch that, eight new main characters. Again there are the interesting storylines, interesting characters with a variety of personalities, and interesting happenings that are only to be expected.
While this book would still work for a bedtime story, there are parts I would skip over depending on the ages of the kiddos. I contacted the author to review this book and received it through Booksprout. 5*
All the animal parts were adorable and so much fun. Kittens and giant dogs, not much can beat that! The human parts were just okay. It took most of the book for Julia to grow on me and Derek was really a nonentity in the story. I liked him but he just wasn’t around and the romance between them just didn’t fit. It was the same with the other couple in the book they seemed to be after thoughts to the pets and Van really did seem to adore Lily while he seemed to be an afterthought for her. It made me sad. Maybe if I had read Goofy Newfies first their relationship would have made more sense to me? That seems like a lot of complaining but really it was a perfect Hallmark movie type of book and I did enjoy it.
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
I am an avid animal lover and I so wanted to like this book BUT…I just couldn’t get past how much I disliked Julia. She was immature, jumped to conclusions without ever bothering to consider the reasons behind people’s actions (ie: Lily and Derek) or ask a few simple questions to clarify a situation. Instead she would lash out in a temper or run off to her room to pout like a petulant teenager at perceived slights or if things did not go the way she thought they should. She did seem to mature somewhat toward the end of the book but it was too little too late for me. On the other hand Derek was an absolute sweetheart. He could have done so much better for himself.

This was a cute story. Julia and Derek are a cute couple. You have to love the interactions, and situations they get into. The stars of the book of course are the cats Lillie and Mortie. I can’t believe how much I laughed with the book. It was fun, and entertaining.
I confess I’m not much of a cat fan, but I love the story of “Itty Bitty Kitties”. The new characters, Julia and Derek, contributed to another great storytelling. Julia is struggling to cope with her pregnancy alone, but when she meets Derek, under not-so-good circumstances, she has a prospect of perhaps having a family. And Julia’s cat, P.K., is very funny, with her characteristic cat behavior, getting “upset” about the change and everything.
I laughed a lot with the scene of the Christmas tree and the kitties.
This is another great story, which always leave us with a smile on our faces.
I highly recommend the reading.
