Return to Red River–a beautiful mountain town in the southern Rockies, where the nights are cool and the romance is hot–one last time in this wonderful holiday romance that has as much heart as it does heat.Maybe some wishes aren’t meant to come true.Christmas is a hot button for Kimberly Perez, and not in a good way. Having grown up in the foster system, she’s as frugal as she is smart and … frugal as she is smart and can’t abide the materialism of the holidays. In an effort to use precious funds to help children in need instead of wasting money on meaningless commercialism, she pitches a new city ordinance to Red River’s town council that would cut all holiday decorations and festivities from the budget.
Ross Armstrong is determined to honor his late sister’s memory by continuing her love of all things Christmas in Red River. But to do so, he’s got to block the passing of a silly new law—and the person behind it—which would essentially ban Christmas altogether.
When their disagreement pits them against each other at a public town council meeting and splits Red River in half, the council chairperson forces them to work together on a new Red River holiday tradition—the Wishing Tree. Can they work together in the true spirit of the holidays, not only to reunite the town they love but to also cultivate the burgeoning feelings they have for each other. Or will their differences turn them into enemies and divide Red River forever?
A SPECIAL NOTE TO SHELLY’S READERS
Hello, my lovelies. As this–my first published series–comes to a close, I’m both excited to start new books set in a different location and sad that the wonderfully quirky characters who make up the heart of Red River will no longer be my focus when I sit down to write every day. Thank you for following this series from start to finish. It’s been a fantastic journey, and just like the characters in the books, there has been ups and there has been downs. But you all have stayed with me every step of the way, and for that I am eternally grateful. So, enjoy Ross and Kimberly’s heartwarming holiday story.

This is a sensationally emotional new story from Shelly Alexander about loss, grief, healing, and friendship. Kimberly is a lawyer who works as an advocate for foster children, after growing up in the system she has become guarded and cautious about the friends she makes and the non existent relationships she has. Ross is a handsome mechanic with a heart of gold but a tragic childhood past. When Ross and Kimberly are forced to work together on their town’s newest Holiday Christmas tradition the Wishing Tree, they not only a call a truce but discover a friendship and romance that could last forever if they can trust each other and help heal their hearts. It’s In His Christmas Wish is a captivatingly heartwarming Holiday story filled with heartache, anger, witty banter, miracles, healing, forgiveness, meddling old women, friendship, passion, and love. Readers will laugh, cry, and find the spirit of Christmas in this new book and will fall in love with these characters. I absolutely loved this book and I can’t wait for more.

This book follows Kimberly and Ross, two friends who really should be more. Both are dealing with their own inner demons, and there is nothing like the holidays to help them through their issues. When it seems that these friends have abandoned each other is when they really need each other the most. This is a sweet story, and takes the reader through the highs and lows that each are facing, especially as it relates to their own history of the holidays. Overall the character development is good, however I would have liked to see more of Ross’s own experience whereas a lot of the background was on Kimberly. This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read all the Red River books, and still enjoyed this. However, I am sure that there are recurring characters and having the background of them all can only add to the reading experience.

Sweetly thrilling, sexy fun, action packed adventure filled with heartwarming holiday goodness…. was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed the engaging charters and memorable witty banter.
Kimberley is a young attorney who is fighting for the rights of children. Having grown up in the Foster Care system, she knows first hand what it means to have no Christmas. To her giving a Christmas gift to as many children as possible is paramount. When the town decides to vote on new Christmas decorations she suggests to not decorate and use the money for the children instead, almost causing a partisan war in town, as the people love their decorations. Her main opponent is her former friend and secret crush, Ross. For him the decorations are a symbol for his sister, who passed away. Finding a way to not only appease the town, but make Christmas work for both of them and working on that crush ….
A funny and entertaining story of small town life and meddling, well-written and fun to read.

Was Kimberly a Grinch of the present day?
Living in Red River and devoting her life and legal career to helping at-risk children and abused women, and having been raised in foster care, Kim had not so many fond memories of the Christmas season. So when the town committee met to vote for the next Christmas decoration, Kim was totally against it, which surprised many people… especially Ross.
Ross Armstrong had a preference for the Christmas season because of his younger sister, Noelle, who had died a few years ago and loved that festivity. Noelle asked Ross never to stop celebrating Christmas, so when he heard Kim’s heated speech about giving up spending so much money on decorations – and giving presents to needy children – he decided he needed to make Kim’s Christmas as delighted as possible for her to understand the magic of Christmas.
4 stars
A great story that concludes the Red River Valley Series. Even though it’s part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone book. The characters are wonderful, strong and well developed. The chemistry between them is strong and they are great together. Sorry to see the series end.

“It’s In His Christmas Wish” is the perfect Christmas romance. It’s sweet and spicy and oh so delicious!! Talk about all the feels!! This was a lovely and beautiful read and I feel fortunate to have had the pleasure of reading this book!! Definitely got me in the Christmas spirit!! Just love romance books and this author delivers them perfectly every time!! Bring on the next book by this author that I adore!! Happy reading!!
This book was funny, sexy, romantic, and sad. I felt for Kimberly with her walls because she had been hurt by her parents and foster parents. Ross also has been hurt by the loss of his sister and as a result his parents because they shut him out to dull the pain. He thinks Kimberly is a grinch because she’d rather the town spend money on gifts for poor children than Christmas decorations. Their battles were hilarious. Their relationship was romantic and sexy. He’s not perfect, but he makes her realize how worthy she is of love. I loved her wacky clothing style, his rescue dog Comet, and a sweet orphan named Noelle who just wanted a permanent family for Christmas. This was a lovely conclusion to a wonderful series.
Kimberly grew up in foster care, and Christmas holds no fond memories for her. Convinced that she’s broken, she refuses to get close to anyone other than her best friend. She decides to make sure that it’s special for children in her little town, and wants the budget to be spent on the kids, not meaningless decorations. Ross, local mechanic, wants to go all out on the decorations, feeling that they are part of the whole Christmas experience. They’re tasked with organizing the Christmas decorations this year. These two have been dancing around their attraction to each other for a long time, but she backs off, afraid of getting close. This was a really nice book – the characters were on a slow burn with their amazing chemistry, and it was enjoyable to see them change their attitudes to work together. This is my first read from this author, and it’s a shame that this is the last book (more reading for me).

Book seven in the A Red River Valley Novel series, a well written Christmas story. Kimberly Perez grew up in the foster system and Christmas means a lot of bad memories for her. Ross Armstrong loves Christmas and tries to keep it alive in Red River, but because of things Kimberly plans she might just get to be the Scrooge she acts like. I enjoyed reading how these two work together on the new Red River holiday tradition—the Wishing Tree, and find love. Red River Perfectly Imperfect couple!
OMG – I love Red River stories. If you have not read any of the Red River books, you must start with the first one, It’s In His Heart, which is about Ella and Cooper, once you have read this you will want to continue with the others. Although they are standalone books, it brings them all together one way or another in each book. There are some sad portions to each story, but there is plenty of laughter. This story of Ross and Kimberly is no exception.
Red River is a small town and like such, everyone knows everything, which creates for much needed drama and love. Sisters Clydelle and Francine are at it again – they are pretty much in every story. The story starts in the Cotton Eyed Joe’s where there is a town meeting to discuss the budget for Christmas decorations for the town and the chairperson is Clydelle. Well new to the town, Kimberly is there to ask if they should just not spend the money on decorations and instead use it to spread holiday cheer to children of need. Well now due to her suggestion, she is now considered the GRINCH and to help matters the one man she is attracted to, Ross, is there to make sure that NO ONE steals the Christmas spirit from Red River. The story takes off when Ms. Clydelle makes a decision of leaving these two responsible for decorating the town and making sure that the Wishing tree is fulfill.

It was a great story and it is sad that it is the last book in the Red River Valley Series.
This book as well as the others can be read as a standalone.
The chemistry between the characters was believable and so good.
This was just a great ending to just a great series.

This was a really sweet and funny ending to the series. There are so many good characters in Red River Valley and fighting over Christmas is the perfect foil to showcase their personalities. Really fun romance.

A great holiday read.
Kimberly and Ross’s story starts with them having different ideas for their small-town celebration for Christmas. Friends that find that there are wonderful sparks are just waiting to ignite a hot fire. I loved this sweet holiday story the ending was great it put a smile on my face just the right kind of book to read during the holiday season. I loved the characters and the story I hope you do yourself a favor and check this one out. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
As the last book in the Red River series, it could easily be read as a standalone. The chemistry between the two is hot. If they can just get past their past hurts and beliefs on Christmas and get on the same page they will be perfect together.

First I want to say that I am truly sad that my trips to Red River will be no more. I have come to love the town and will miss visiting.
This story was the perfect way to conclude the series. Christmas is the time of miracles and bringing people together. This story did not disappoint. Watching Kimberly and Ross fight through their separate problems to be able to be together was beautiful. The transition from friends to forever was “real”.
I look forward to the next location Shelly Alexander takes me to.
This author has a lot of humor and wit yo her writing, but also there is a huge message being given at the same time. Loved how the community finally put aside all their differences to work together to make a memorable Christmas for the entire town and surrounding children. Nicely done in explaining loss of loved ones and growing up in the system.

I loved this book, although it was a bit confusing. I’ve read books by Ms Alexander before and I always loved it, but this time I noticed a reference to a film I didn’t know – How the Grinch stole Christmas. I didn’t get the playful hints about green man, because I haven’t seen the film. Other than that, I thought it was a fantastic book, I love the small town romance, loved the intention of both Kimberly and Ross and I enjoyed to read about their love-story.

This is the 7th book in the Red River Valley series and was another really great read. If like me you enjoy a really good holiday romance you won’t want to miss this book. I really liked this book it had me laughing out loud and I did not want to put it down I would recommend it
