Whoever said life begins at forty must have been heavily medicated, drunk, or delusional.  Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good.  But as they say, all good things come to an end. I’d honestly love to know who ‘they’ are and rip them a new … new one. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed and breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job-deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there. I think they need my help, but since I don’t speak dead, we’re having a few issues.  To add to the heap of trouble, there’s a new dangerously smokin’ hot lawyer at the firm who won’t stop giving me the eye. My BFF is thrilled with her new frozen face, thanks to her plastic surgeon, her alimony check, and the miracle of Botox. And then there’s the little conundrum that I’m becoming way too attached to my ghostly squatters? Like Cher, I’d like to turn back time. Now. No can do.   Whatever. I have wine, good friends, and an industrial sized box of superglue. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, apparently. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful midlife crisis?

How much do I love Robyn Peterman and her zany sense of humor? SO MUCH. You need to take this crazy, funny, paranormal ride right now!
“I’d read the phone book if Robyn Peterman wrote it! It’s A Wonderful Midlife Crisis is a home run of hilarious, heartwarming paranormal fun. Midlife’s a journey. Enjoy the ride. Crisis included… Read it!”
To say this book was entertaining would be an understatement. It was laugh-out-loud funny and unique – two things I love in a book. Daisy was hilarious. I couldn’t get enough of her with her squatters, or her with Gideon. Robyn Peterman has been on my TBR pile for quite a while. I can’t believe I waited so long to read one of her books. It was amazing!
This is the first book i have read by Robyn but probably wont be the last as i really liked the storey and the way the book was written. There were some good twists and turns plus alot of really good funny moments, along with a few tears. This book is definately worth a read.
As this is the first book I’ve read by this author, I had no preconceived notions going into it.
I was still BLOWN AWAY! This book has everything…. the laughs, the snark, emotions all over the place, & a hot as hell grim reaper.
I loved Daisy Not only is she dealing with turning 40 & working for a soul crushing boss, but now she also has to deal with squatters.
While the ending was a bit of a gasp , I can NOT wait for more!!

I wanna be Daisy! Her midlife crisis is the most brilliant series of crazy, happy, sad, quirky madness. It’s about how she survives her wacky but supportive friends, strange family members, a horrible boss, demanding ghosts, and her big scary 40th birthday, all while keeping her cool and living her life with panache (and some fascinating dead people). Laugh and cry with her throughout this great “coming of age” tale from the Super Woman of the Supernatural, Robyn Peterman. This is a wild and wonderful start to a series and I wanna be first in line to read the rest.
Oh what a hoot! This story is all kinds of funny with this most delicious, sweet, charming side. It is beautiful and amazing story of a group of women that are aging beautifully. Daisy is sweet, charming, caring, strong and extremely wonderful. She may act before she thinks but is still a kick butt lady. Gideon is all kinds of sweet and sexy. This is a ride of a lifetime. A most fabulous story that is one that should be read. I am super excited for the next book.
I could tell you this is classic Robyn Peterman but it isn’t.
Maybe I could tell you it is as good as all of her other books but that isn’t true either.
What can I say? It is a new and even better than classic Robyn Peterman.
I can tell you it is possibly the best book she has written and that is saying a lot because I am a major fan!
“Midlife” is funny. It is well written. It has intriguing but not seriously so. It is a tremendous read and an awesome start to a new series.
An awesome book? Check.
A seriously great author? Check.
5 stars? Only because the ratings don’t go higher!
What’s that you say? What about the book?
Well see, there’s this hot widow who… oops, can’t tell you that.
Then there’s the Grim Reaper and he… sorry can’t tell you that either.
Okay then, there are all of these ghosts and… nope, that’s a no-go. And there these other characters who aren’t as they seem, like… drafts, I can’t tell you that either.
It seems if I tell you very much, I’ll either tell or spoil the story and I don’t do that.
You want the story?
Buy it. Read it. Enjoy it!
I love this PWF genre! And this book was just classic Robyn Peterman! So hilariously funny with a cliffhanger ending!
Wow is all I can say about It’s a Wonderful Midlife Crisis, Book 1 of the Good to the Last Death Series, her latest and in my opinion, greatest so far.
Daisy is 40 and looking forward to her nice birthday party with her gal pals. One problem, the dead have been paying her a visit and I don’t mean one of them, her house had ghosts all over, all of a sudden. It wasn’t bad enough that her boss was a prime witch (spell that with a B) and she was still mourning her husband that had passed a year ago, but now she had to deal with ghosts.
What a great beginning what looks to be a great series, I can hardly wait for the next book, I MEAN I NEED IT TOMORROW. I am hooked. What an awesome new series and totally addictive!
This is a FANTASTIC story! I love how Daisy went from being wounded, heartbroken and insecure, to being inundated with unexpected house guests or squatters as she calls them, to pulling up her big girl panties despite what shes feeling and getting things done. I also really, really liked that she didnt just hook up with the first man to come her way and cower behind him, she owned who and what she was and got on with things. I cant wait to see what happens in the next book, I devoured this in just a couple of hours!
Another homerun book from Robyn!
Who knew 40 could be so life changing? Who knew anyone could need to buy superglue in bulk? Daisy is coming to grips with her life being turned upside down last year. Just when she thinks shes getting there, bam now she can see ghosts.
The hilarious antics, new characters, and crazy pets, it all adds up to an amazingly fun ride! I can’t wait for book 2!
Overall rating: 5
The names, the dogs, this hilarious tale touches so very many true life parallels and I loved every bit of it. If my brain would just allow me to accept that reality could possibly be as this book illustrates, then I would know which state holds that magical epicenter! Also, the thought of death councilors truly has a lot of appeal. In any case, May is just way to far away for book two! Impatiently a fan! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Being a huge fan of Robyn Peterman’s books I was thrilled to learn she would now have a series with an older heroine! I must admit I was hooked after reading the the first paragraph! For our heroine, Daisy, life is good at 39. A wonderful husband, a vibrant loving grandmother, good friends and so on. A year later, she finds herself a widow, grandma is now in a home, her job is boring with a man hungry tyrannical boss and turning 40! Plus she’s sure she is losing her sanity when she finds herself a hostess to a house full of ghosts that require a lot of superglue! Midlife just got interesting!
I laughed until I cried, then cried some more. Robyn Peterman could write the ingredients on a cereal box and make you want more! From the cover art to the ending in this book she takes you on a roller coaster ride of wackiness. From seeing dead people and gluing lost body parts back on to finding out her husband’s long lost secret, getting a new love interest & losing him, finding out her family secret and dealing with a horrible boss, Daisy is having a Hell of a 40th year!
The characters are wonderful! I adore Grandma & Steve! Living with my own version of a Hellhound endears Daisy’s to me. I actually had to stop reading and take a break as I was zipping through it so fast. I really hated seeing it end. Can hardly wait for the next one to come out to continue Daisy’s adventures!
Omg! Laugh out loud funny, my husband wanted to know what I was reading that had me laughing so much. While Daisy has at an awful year she has her friends but something is going on ghost are showing up. Doesn’t that happen to everyone? Cannot wait for the next book!
Okay, okay I know I probably say it a lot but this was Robyn’s best book ever!!!!!
Daisy is amazing, she is strong, smart and very resourceful with superglue… lol
I love Gram she makes me smile, she makes me laugh out loud and she loves Daisy to pieces.
This story was beyond hilarious what with the ghosts that seemed more like zombies, a boss who is more than horrible and a new lawyer in the firm how is more than just hot, hot, hot he is other worldly lol…
I love how Daisy is finding her own way to be counseling ghosts and helping them move on her unique takes on it makes for many laugh out loud moments and some really sweet ones as well.
This was an outstanding story and I am looking forward to more in the series.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this series. Accept for the sleepless nights because I can’t turn the audiobook off. The narrator does a fantastic job. The humor is my favorite part.
Love this series, it is out of the box fantasy and funny.
First of all this cover is so Beautiful! That alone is reason enough to buy the book! Robyn Peterman is the Queen of Funny! Her characters will have you laughing till tears fall and your stomach hurts!! At age 39 Daisy would have never dreamed that 40 would bring the usual creakiness of joints and toss in the death of her husband, and coming into her “position” which includes squatters of the ghostly kind. I will never look at super glue the same. Some of the ghost I hated to see them crossover. Smoking hot Gideon is all a girl could ask for in this world. But be prepared this first does not give you the HEA. She will leave you hanging, dang you Ms. Robyn. So go ahead and get book 1-6, because if you are like me, I have to know what happens. LIKE NOW! lol..
