Welcome to a world of fantasy, fairy tales, and murder most foul… My name’s Elle. Princess Arielle, for those who know about my past. Cursed by my own father, now I’m banished to Grimm. I’m a siren, killer, and one of the best damned cold-case detectives in all of the bloody realms. I don’t stop until I discover the truth, no matter where that truth leads. My next case sends me to Wonderland, a … me to Wonderland, a harrowing place of madness and dark secrets. I’d rather be landlocked than step foot on that tainted soil, but I don’t have a choice after discovering Alice’s bloodstained ribbon and a bandicoot’s claw covered in blood beside two stiff’s at the Charming’s sprawling castle. My insatiable thirst for truth leads to a conspiracy that will not only rock the Grimm world but also my own.
No one ever walks away from Wonderland unscathed… No one.
Join me on a spell-binding tale that you aren’t soon likely to forget.

Yes! This was a fantastic read! Elle is amazing and complicated, all the characters are really. The storyline is absolutely amazing, the details and world building, just wow. Then that ending, holy cow, I can’t wait to read the next one!
An interesting interpretation of fairy tale characters and worlds…I liked the main characters but grew a bit weary of the constant angst. The “case” was secondary to the romance which was a bit disappointing but the ending set up future stories while still remaining as a satisfactory stand alone read.
Hard to read at times. However, there was a pretty good story with very interesting characters. I will read the next book just to see what adventures can be created. I can see a pitfall of cliches coming since a lot of the characters are remakes from other tales and stories.
Love the twists and turns of the characters. Read the whole series and impatiently waiting on the next book.
Very unusual take on well known characters. The character twists are fabulous. Good plot development. Very entertaining.
So very original
A bit more X-rated than I expected.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was delightfully twisted and Grimm.
So much fun!
Sounded like fun in the synopsis-but that didn’t touch how entertaining this book is, I really enjoyed it start to finish. Although NOT a cliffhanger the final twist was enough that you have to buy the next in the series. Same Bat Time-Same Bat Channel.
A fun fantasy-mystery tale.

Detective Elle, formerly Princess Arielle, has a new cold case that is taking her to the mad Wonderland. With the help of Constable Maddox Hatter, they spend days tracking the killers around Wonderland. Together these two find a killer, and open start to open themselves up again after heartbreak.
This was a weird, and wonderful, mixture of fairytale characters in a modern setting. I wasn’t sure about the book at first but by the time she meets Hatter I was hooked. The tension and heartbreak between these two just keep me hooked and hoping for a happy ending, which doesn’t exactly happen but I still loved it. I really liked Hatter and his ability to see the past and present. It was fascinating and is a great twist on the classic take of his character. Elle was strong, but broken. I really want to learn more about both of these characters and their pasts.
Overall, this was a wonderful and fascinating world that I need more of. I will be reading the next book to see how the relationship between Elle and Maddox works out.
Reader Warning:
Heroine was abused in the past. Briefly mentioned.
Child death portrayed briefly.
Incredible new use of Fairytale characters
This book first caught me on page one. I love Elle the Siren and Maddox (the Mad
Hatter of Wonderland). The book is a fantastic gritty murder mystery with the
characters of Alice in Wonderland as the characters, but not in a way you have ever
seen them. I loved this book and eagerly await book two.
lle is called on to solve a cold case file that has her teaming up with the Mad Hatter and chasing clues throughout Wonderland but will they find the answers in time to save an innocent from being framed for the murders that are stacking up. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it will certainly not be my last. This book is a fast-faced adventure down the rabbit hole with a new spin on all your favorite fairytale characters. The Little Mermaid is a man-eating siren, the Mad Hatter is a hot constable, Alice runs a brothel, Bo Peep is a police cheif, etc. This is a wild ride that kept me guessing until the very end. I’ll be not so patiently waiting for the next book in the series.
