“I could go on about how much I enjoyed this book, but…I will sum up by saying that this is an excellent debut for Ella Hayes, and…is wonderfully told to the point that it will stick in the memory after the last page has been turned.”

Ella Hayes captures your heart immediately with this incredibly romantic and pacy novel. She has evoked setting so well, I wish I was booking my trip to the Amalfi Coast. Zack and Olivia were so beautifully and thoughtfully written, I was captivated by each of their stories and just wanted happiness for them both.
Prepare to be struck with an extreme dose of wanderlust after reading this utterly romantic read.
My mother (followers of my reviews know all about The Mommy!) is currently looking at me like I’ve suddenly sprouted a pair of horns *snorts*. Why, you ask? Hmm, I think the happy-sappy tears that are streaming down my face may have something to do it *smirks*.
*sucks in breath*
*blows air out slowly*
*wipes eyes*
Not a word!
*wags finger*
Right, I think I’m okay to continue.
As a wedding photographer, Olivia Gardner, is all about perfection. Marriage represents her ideal, but is there any such thing as perfect?
Single dad and hotelier (to THE wedding destination venue!), Zach Merrill, is man with many responsibilities and some regrets. Yet, nothing and no-one is more important to him than his young daughter, Alessia. (Some of my favourite moments in this story were the scenes with Zach and Alessia. His love for her shone clear and bright. This was heartstring pulling 101.)
With Liv’s arrival to work at the palazzo, both Zach and Liv are thrown off kilter with the intensity of their attraction. Axis? What axis? *snorts* However, it’s not just their hearts to consider in all this, is it? There’s a little person’s involved too.
Honestly, I did so much sighing reading this book – of the happy kind. I got swept away with the romance of it all (shh, don’t tell anyone *winks*. It’s our secret, right?). I fell in love; with Zach and Liv, with Alessia (obvs), and with the place. The author really brought Casa Isabella alive for me. They all combined to make, imho, a perfection addition to the True Love imprint.
I’m kicking myself as this was my first Ella Hayes read. I’m embarrassed to admit this… I bought Her Brooding Scottish Heir to attend an author event last February but had to cancel last minute and never got around to reading it. More fool me, I say!
Sweet, heartfelt and romantic (at the expense of repeating myself), ISwtSD is a story that will leave you with a smile on your face (maybe a tear or two) and a lightness in your heart.
Out of Ella Hayes’ skilled pen has come another wonderfully romantic, gentle and delicate love story. Set in one of the most charming Italian coastline, this romance is a feast for the eyes as well as for the heart. Hayes’ background as a visual artist shows in her attention to colour, texture, light and shade. Her attention to detail is reflected also in her exciting word choices and the musicality of her sentences. When I pick up a book by Ella Hayes, I know that I’m in good hands, and in this novel I’ve found Italy at its gorgeous best, a very loveable and loving couple and a charming twist at the end. I raise my glass to Ella Hayes to many more!
