“A landmark in American literature” (Chicago Sun-Times)—Stephen King’s #1 national bestseller about seven adults who return to their hometown to confront a nightmare they had first stumbled on as teenagers…an evil without a name: It. Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when …
They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made twenty-eight years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that terrifying summer return as they prepare to once again battle the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers.
Readers of Stephen King know that Derry, Maine, is a place with a deep, dark hold on the author. It reappears in many of his books, including Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis, and 11/22/63. But it all starts with It.
“Stephen King’s most mature work” (St. Petersburg Times), “It will overwhelm you… to be read in a well-lit room only” (Los Angeles Times).

i mean great
When you’re talking SK you just have to ask to what degree of horror you prefer, I love them all.
Scary as heck! A page turner for sure. But I’l hesitate reading it late at night! Stephen King is truly the master of horror!
The King at his best.
good
rubbish, just like the author.
its good
I was reading this books for 5 or 6 months. I looked on one site and you know what? Someone wrote there that have read this book for 40 hours. I’m impressed.
King knows how to immerse you in his world. The scariest part of his stories is the realization that there is no safe place to hide….
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
very good also love the movies
King really makes you care about these characters. This is a story about growing up and fear…and a killer clown. At times it can be long, but the world building and character development make it worth it.
I love this book
I first read this at age thirteen, and It scared the bejesus out of me (Ha-ha). Now, over thirty years later, and in preparation for the new film adaptation, I have chosen to relive the nightmare on audio. I may never sleep again. Utterly compelling.
Just another great book by the King
it was good
I developed clourophobia because of it which is a fear of clown. So, yes, that is my review. -_-
Want a good scare – read this.
I watched the movie and it was great!! I LOVE Stephen king so much
Pretty strange book and, I think, my second or third Stephen King read. It was pretty gritty and definitely a serious tone to it, ya know, since people are dying and all. The turtle and ritual were pretty random, I thought, but pretty entertaining and made it feel somewhat mythical. Overall I did enjoy most of the book except the one “get together” that anyone has heard or read about with this book would know what I’m talking about. Yeesh.
