“A landmark in American literature” (Chicago Sun-Times)—Stephen King’s #1 national bestseller about seven adults who return to their hometown to confront a nightmare they had first stumbled on as teenagers…an evil without a name: It. Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when …
They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made twenty-eight years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that terrifying summer return as they prepare to once again battle the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers.
Readers of Stephen King know that Derry, Maine, is a place with a deep, dark hold on the author. It reappears in many of his books, including Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis, and 11/22/63. But it all starts with It.
“Stephen King’s most mature work” (St. Petersburg Times), “It will overwhelm you… to be read in a well-lit room only” (Los Angeles Times).

Wonderful book, I couldn’t put it down. I may even read it again & I seldom read a book twice
Scared me witless when I was 12. Scared me witless now. An all-time classic.
I saw the movie first and the size of the book put me off. But it was like two books divided within one. The depth and depravity King takes us on is inspiring. I have read a few King books and he really finds ways to make small American towns truly terrifying. I read this on the bus to and work everyday. It became part of my day and the emotional journey added to my journey. Often i would catch a fellow traveler looking at the cover. They would smile and nod when I caught them. It is more than just a book now. It’s social currency.

Stephen king fan for life
One of Stephen Kings’ classic terrifying tales! Twisted and nightmare inducing literature is his specialty and IT does not disappoint loyal readers! (Not to mention it is way better than the recent movies make it seem…)
Love Stephen King
I like this because I like scary story and this was the most scaryest story ever
It was great!
i think that it is very scary.
I had the opportunity to watch IT and IT 2 prior to reading this book, which means I have a good idea what is going to happen. I really love reading Stephen King books and this one is definitely not a let down.

One of my all time favorites.
I just wanted to say…Your book made my sister scared of clowns so Now I know her weak spot! uwu
Thanks for such awesome book and the film was also most enjoyable!
Scary interesting book
Great book
It is a great story about facing fears, finding friends in your darkest moments, and discovering life after tragedy. King is a brilliant writer, so hearing this book in its entirety was very cool, after watching the original film version and both of the updated films that were just released. The narrator used his voice to capture the different characters and truly chilled me as the voice of Pennywise. I’d recommend this version to anyone who has seen the films, but never heard the entire story.
To be honest , i really love the book i wish to read it further .
This is the only book that ever EVER scared the hell out of me. Stephen King fan or not, you NEED to read this book if you enjoy horror at all. Stephen King can create characters that you recognize in your own life, (if you don’t totally identify with one and see yourself in them), look at any of his books, Needful Things, Salem’s Lot, etc. the characters come to life.
You will not want to stop reading once you get into this story, but will have to walk away at times because this book will keep you up at nights! If you don’t read this book, then “I worry about you, I worry about you a lot!”, (even is your name isn’t Bev. And…if you see any balloons in sewers…RUN!!! Afterall, “everything floats down here”
