“A landmark in American literature” (Chicago Sun-Times)—Stephen King’s #1 national bestseller about seven adults who return to their hometown to confront a nightmare they had first stumbled on as teenagers…an evil without a name: It. Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when …
They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made twenty-eight years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that terrifying summer return as they prepare to once again battle the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers.
Readers of Stephen King know that Derry, Maine, is a place with a deep, dark hold on the author. It reappears in many of his books, including Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis, and 11/22/63. But it all starts with It.
“Stephen King’s most mature work” (St. Petersburg Times), “It will overwhelm you… to be read in a well-lit room only” (Los Angeles Times).

Just… Great…
Its the best book i’ve ever read
A CLASSIC!
Wasn’t a fan of the reading and didn’t understand the hype behind this. I didn’t find the villain, nor the story, scary in the slightest. A little gory, sure, a few things that made me wince, and some that made me flat out ask wtf, but did not live to the hype of being terrifying.
I really love this book
Its Very Awesome! Please Make More! I Am Very Intertaind By This Wonderful Book!
It’s a good book sent shivers down my spine and the movie is also really good so I recommend
First of all, for those who know me, I realize this is a weird recommendation from a paranormal romance author. lol Having said that, I don’t read very often within my genre. I don’t want to be influenced by the ideas of other people, AND, I really love horror and mystery.
After watching the movies (remakes and originals) I just had to see for myself if anything was lost between the page and the screen.
I first tried to read this when I was 13. I got to the now infamous part about little Georgie and was so scared that I actually threw the book away. I was reading in the middle of the night and suddenly every shadow became a monster, even though I was at an age where I believed I was past that kind of fear.
Reading this again, and finishing the book, as an adult, King has reminded me that we are NEVER past that fear.
Stephen King
It
it was funny and scary
Pet Sematary to be honest, this book is a very good horror. it kept me up for awhile thinking about it. haha. King is literally one of the best authors out there i liked his books Misery and Pet Sematary. Misery
That it is a movie about and scary and a horror.
I love it
I have read this book several times. One of my favorite Steven king books. You wont be disappointed.
This is a monster book about a dark being that haunts the nightmares of children. Known only as ‘It’ by the few who know about It, this dark alien brings the fears of children to life before consuming their terror and ending their lives.
Stephen King shows off his mastery of horror in this long, detailed story about seven children who faced It, wounded It, scared It, and drove It away. Twenty-seven years layer, It calls them back, wanting revenge for what they did to It, but has It made a fatal error in calling back the only ones who ever hurt It?
Wavering between the past and present lives of the grown-up children, this book is a masterpiece of storytelling. With a lot of detail, this book is not for the faint of heart. Over a thousand pages of rich prose, some of it controversial, and once you read It, you will wonder every once in a while if It is out there in your town.
Recommended for adults. No, seriously, you should be over eighteen. Consider this your warning of adult material.
A seat-of-the-pants book. I loved it.
Classic King. Delivers It’s a long book but he delivers the chills and keeps the reader in constant suspense. Great characters you’ll be rooting for.
When Stephen King puts his name to a book, you know you’re in for a treat. But this book really takes things to another level as the story and characters latch on and refuse to let you go. A thrill-ride I highly recommend.
This book is scary and it is awesome.
Excellent
