She’d left on purpose. Thought she’d stay gone. But some roots run deep, and some dreams lead us right back home.Big-hearted Dre Rustin fled her small Nebraska hometown to distance herself from her brother’s troubled past. Texas seemed like a good place to start a new life. Now she’s looking forward to graduating from college, but first she’s got to handle Thanksgiving break. She’ll head home for … She’ll head home for the first time in years. No way is she going to get sucked back into the drama and charm—namely her brother’s best friend Tommy Kent—of Rock Creek. For moral support, she convinces her best friend to travel with her. Little good that does her.
Tom Kent might not have been the rebel Paul Rustin had been, but he’d earned a less-than-honorable reputation with the girls, which ruined the fragile hope he’d had for romance with Dre before she left for college. In the four years since Dre had shut Tom out, he hasn’t been able to let her go. Now she’s coming home, and he’s got this one last chance.
What if she could forgive him? What if they could recapture the tender feelings they’d shared years ago? What if they could build new dreams together?
It could be good. Really good. Maybe, just maybe, it could be forever.

I loved this story. Jennifer Rodewald made the main characters Bre and Tom come alive. I want to read more books by her! I recommend this book to my friends and family.
It Will Be Forever is a wonderful story with a small town setting and realistic, engaging characters. I enjoyed getting to know Dre and Tom and their friends and family. Themes of redemption, forgiveness, love of family, and faith are woven seamlessly into the tale and give it added depth and dimension. Jennifer Rodewald does a great job of creating interesting stories with tough subjects while using sensitivity and compassion.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
An amazing story with wonderful characters. This was a well organized and thought out book. It didn’t take the easy road and there was a lot of wisdom and inspiration in it. I loved getting to know Rock Creek and can’t wait to read more.
It Will Be Forever by Jennifer Rodewald was just so amazing!! I enjoyed it thoroughly, and am again left convinced of the great gift the author has when telling a story. I loved the characters, and I loved the story; how, for Ms. Rodewald, it wasn’t just your typical “boy has a past, girl’s trying to accept/forgive it”, but, rather, she actually walks the reader through all their characters’ emotions and, most importantly, through their walk and trust with God. This book has some really needed and important nuggets of wisdom and/or Truth, and it has moments that either convicted me or made me cry.
A really beautiful story told in a masterful way. Ms. Rodewald, just keep these books coming 🙂 you clearly have a gift, and the world can only benefit from (and actually needs) your writing.
We all walk around with a past, sometimes it has great moments and other times there are moments we wish never happened. Sometimes those moments are hurtful, and we feel incapable to forgive, yet for our own mental health forgiveness is what’s needed. In this story by author, Jennifer Rodewald she tackles this subject and much more.
I loved how this author tells a story and wraps it up with wonderful lessons I can take and apply to my life.
This was a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. There were many times I wanted to shake the characters and tell them to straighten up, and many times I wanted to just hug them. Bringing these emotions out in a reader is a fantastic skill and Jennifer Rodewald is just that talented.
This book and the other stories set in this cute town of Rock Creek will make you want to move to a small town. They are so full of warmth and charm.
I highly recommend you pick this book up to read. It touched my heart and I hope it does yours.
Dre chose to leave and I thought she made the right decision. She is back and things have changed. Not now can change to forever. Dre and Tom had some things to work through. Forgiveness, change and start anew are themes of the book that give me so much encouragement.
