Zee + Annmarie and Tan + Jubilee.Forever. No exceptions. They were to have the picture-perfect life together. Everything was all planned out.Jubilee was to marry Eitan and Ezekiel was to marry Annmarie. That’s how it was always supposed to be from the moment that they met. Textbook, right?Wrong.Eitan and Annmarie die in a freak accident that never should have happened, leaving the two survivors … have happened, leaving the two survivors reeling.
Sixteen years later, Jubilee and Zee can’t even be in the same room with each other before things begin to deteriorate. Too many memories. Too much pain. Not enough forgiveness.
They’re like hellfire and holy water, and neither one of them is willing to admit that they’re wrong.
Then one day things change, and all of a sudden, they’re looking at each other like maybe they aren’t each other’s enemies after all.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this one at first – Zee & Jubilee are quite mean to each other. However, even while they’re saying they hate each other, they look out for each other. And one night, that looking out for each other changes their dynamic. There are some really LOL funny times & some super sweet times, along with quite a bit of chemistry that ramped up the heat a bit!!
I ended up really enjoying their story, and the mystery part was … interesting. I didn’t quite follow how all the pieces of that fit together, but I also definitely didn’t figure out “whodunit” before the reveal, so that was cool. : )
I was so excited to see Zee get a book and it was as amazing as I hoped. The love hate that Jubilee and Zee had was so funny at times that I made people look my way because I couldn’t help but laugh. Jubilee was the type of heroine that too no crap and just said what was on her mind. I really loved that about her. Zee was our typical protective hero that we know and love from LLV.
The plot was sad but at the same time so beautiful. I loved watching them open up and accept the love that they had for each other but they still had their attitudes towards each other which made it that much better. There wasn’t really any big MC stuff that we on in this book and o found that it was a little tame in the drama aspect but had some great suspense that left me thinking WTH. I can’t wait to see what’s going to come in the Bear Bottom MC! 5 stars #2OCCJD
OMG! It Happens is the best Lani Lynn Vale book I have ever read! I am completely blown away and so in love. It was full of snark, sex appeal and was absolutely phenomenal. I FLOVE Zee and Jubilee and their story. If you love enemies to lovers, banter for days and an amazing story, you haven’t seen anything until you read this. It was absolutely brilliant!
Jubilee Cope and Ezekiel “Zee” McGrew have always had an acrimonious relationship. Sworn enemies since childhood, there is something about one another that makes the other crazy. But despite this, they have always had a connection that can not be denied. And when the lines get blurred and feelings develop, neither of them are prepared for the combustible fireworks between them!
GAH!! This story was just so addicting. I was consumed with Zee and Jubilee’s spirited banter and fiery chemistry. Vale’s masterful storytelling was evident in how she was able to perfectly encapsulate how Jubilee and Zee’s relationship changed and matured over time, and yet some things stayed the same. They remained steadfast and loyal to one another in spite of the animosity between them. It was almost like they had a deep-seated connection that was imprinted on each other through childhood and tragedy, alike. I particularly loved how they finally could neither run from nor deny their feelings for one another and one day when that flip was switched, they gave in to the inevitability that was “Jubilee and Zee”. I truly loved them and their story and can not wait for more! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
5 Love/Hate Stars
I don’t know how she does it, but every single time I find a new favorite couple with the latest and greatest from Lani Lynn Vale. With It Happens, she brings us the unusual story of Zee and Jubilee. They have had a love/hate relationship since they were kids and have been through more than most should ever have to go through.
I really enjoyed the dynamics of this story and with LLV’s amazing storytelling skills, loved how everything unfolded. The banter between these two is nothing but chemistry, and even though they live to give the other sh!t, they still protect and love each other fiercely. The transition from their enemies to friendship to lovers is subtle and seamless, and it flowed so well throughout the book. I loved Jubilee’s snarky attitude and Zee is the only one man enough to handle her. Another great addition to the Bear Bottom’s MC series and to my top LLV couples list.

I have to say that with each book Lani brings it to the table and I love each one as they come. I can’t get enough and this one had me laughing and yelling at my kindle because these two were so funny. They hated each other and for no rerason at all but they fought like hell and they argued and they just straight out hated each other but as time went on Jubilee and Zee started to see things differently.
They realized they both lost someone they loved and it ripped their heart out and they were broken but when they came together they always fought but for what reason. Once they stopped fighting and let their true feelings come out things started to change for them and they realized that they didn’t hate each other that they really cared for one another.
This story is absolutely AMAZING and I couldn’t get enough. This is a must read series that will have you on your seat wondering what is going to happen next. Will it be love or will it be hate?
Love this series! The characters are just perfect in this one. Enemies to lovers, life long ‘friends’, having a guilty cross to bear, what more could you ask for. Oh and the HOT times are great too! This one has it all, even a phycho stalker! LOVE LOVE LOVE the way these two fight like cats and dogs, then they are making up in the best way possible.
When will LLV ever write a bad book… NEVER!! I’m so happy about that! Quick fun read to get you through the day.
Zee and Jubilee’s relationship from an early age was rocky, which lead to them being hateful to one another; but taking a closer look you would realize it was more of the little boy pulling the pigtails of a girl he secretly liked. I laughed, tear up, was on the edge of my seat, but overall enthralled by the beauty of two people letting go of past hurt to realize they were perfect for each other. I love, and adored every one of Lani Lynn Vale’s books, she never disappoints. I enjoyed every single moment of this story
‘There’s a thin line between love and hate.’
I don’t think I’ve ever read about two characters’ relationship that embodies this saying more than Ezekiel (Zee) McGrew and Jubilee Cope in Lani Lynn Vale’s It Happens. The fact that these two have known each other since they were young and have had to endure each other’s childish antics, sharp tongue, and jerkish behavior since their initial introduction would drive anyone over the edge, but these two also have to contend with a past that they blame each other for and that grudge has translated into 16 years of verbal sparring and harsh criticisms, making everyone around these two question why Zee and Jubilee can’t let it go and focus on what’s right in front of them – each other.
In the blurb, Vale describes her hero and heroine as hellfire and holy water, but the thing is…it’s unclear who is described by each word because, in my opinion, Zee and Jubilee both have their moments of devilish and demure demeanor and the fact that despite their mutual animosity, they have their moments of helpfulness and having each other’s back, which lends credibility to the idea that their feud tempers their mutual attraction and the underlying sexual tension simmering between them.
Vale brilliantly writes the constant bickering back and forth between Zee and Jubilee, and it’s in those moments that readers can truly feel the chemistry between them just waiting to explode. It’s clear that there’s always been a connection between them…there’s always been a desire, even if neither every spoke those words out loud. But they’ve been so wrapped up in their disdain for each other, playing the blame game and attempting to one up the other’s antics at every turn, that they’ve never taken a moment to realize exactly why they love riling each other up, pushing buttons and causing an exchange of heated words and glances.
When Zee and Jubilee finally give into their desires, their encounter is definitely not romantic, but I feel like it’s the way it needed to be in order to uncap their want and need for one another and while they’re both waiting for the anticipated fallout to occur, the direction they take together, especially due to a set of circumstances that requires Zee’s attention, only reinforces the fact that Zee’s father might have gotten it right all those years ago when he said that Annmarie was not Zee’s true match…it was Jubilee.
I can’t get enough of Lani Lynn Vale’s stories and characters – each one pulls me in and keeps my attention until everything plays out between the hero and heroine and those unwanted secondary characters who are hellbent on torturing the main characters for a variety of reasons.
4.5 Poison Apples
There is a thin line between love and hate.
This is the sixth book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC. They are all stand alones. But, trust me when I say that if you start here, you will go back and read all of Lani’s other books. She will hook you and there will be a lot of reading in your future. And that’s a good thing.
I look forward to her releases every month. Then I’m in a book funk for at least a week afterwards.
This is Zee and Jubilee’s story.
Zee was dating Annmarie, Jubilee’s older sister. While Jubilee was with Eitan, Zee’s twin brother. But, tragedy struck, literally, and only Zee and Jubilee were left alive.
This book shows just how thin that line between love and hate is.
These two argue over everything. They just can’t get alone. Well, until they can.
They may hate each other, but the do look out for one another also.
I love their story.
I will admit that the murderer wasn’t who I thought it was. I was completely surprised.
You will love these characters just as much as I do.
“Life is like a dick. Sometimes it’s up. Sometime’s it’s down. Also, it won’t be hard forever.”
~Text from Jubilee to Turner
“If my blinkers are on, I’m not asking to merge. I’m telling you. Move, bitch. Get out the way.”
~Zee’s secret thoughts
“Beards make me hungry…and horny.”
~Text from Jubilee to Zee.
I am hoping Turner and Castiel hook up
I have to say that I thought this book was a hoot! Zee and Jubilee together were freaking hilarious. My favorite part … the skunks! Phenomenal! But what I really liked was how well the characters played off each other. It was interesting to read the blurb and then to get the meat and potatoes with the story. The story itself was really good!
Zee is very much an alpha male character, but had a very soft center when it came to Jubilee. And it was freaking hilarious when they would start arguing. Their families reactions were also highly entertaining. Jubilee herself was awesome. I know that my best moments in the book were all related to how her character handled something … especially Zee ex! Now there is someone that definitely needed a throat punch!
I thought that my favorite book was the first one in this series, but I do believe that IT HAPPENS has now taken top spot for me! There is drama and danger involved, but not in the way that people think. And the end … WTF!!! Now that was crazy on a whole new level.
Overall, totally recommend! Storyline was awesome, characters (both main and secondary) really made the book, and the writing was well placed and entertaining. So, two thumbs up from me and happy reading!
It Happens is the sixth addition to the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series and features Zee and Jubilee. This pair of enemies to lovers have a complicated past and share a heartbreaking connection.
I just adored this pair of characters that are inexplicably unique, and different yet they complement each other beautifully. Zee is intense, serious and has a tendency to be quite surly. He’s also incredibly caring and protective. Jubilee is sweet, feisty, sassy and more than a tad outspoken. She’s quite hard working and serious.
I loved the banter this pair share it’s witty, humorous and full of insults and snark. Jubilee’s inner thoughts will leave you laughing out loud.
The chemistry they share leaps off the page. Despite the fact that they bicker, squabble and insult each other constantly their connection is intense and they are incredibly protective of each other.
As with all of Lani Lynn Vale’s books this title has equal parts heat, heart and humor, with a touch of danger and suspense. If you enjoy a title with intense and steamy love scenes look no further.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next addition to this series.
Absolutely love Bear Bottom Guardians MC. Zee is so hot. I love enemies to lovers. The banter between See and Jubilee makes this book so entertaining. Highly recommended.
A powerful enemies to lovers story! Her sister was his first love … his brother was hers. A freak accident changed their lives forever, and even years later Ezekial and Jubilee can’t stand to be in the same room together. Their dislike of each other is legendary among their family and friends, but when something happens that leaves them no choice but to coincide, they realize the strong feelings they have for each other aren’t all bad! The characters were quick to catch my attention, as was the story line.
Ezekial McGrew loved her twin sister Annmarie until fate yanked her from his arms. Years have passed and he’s never forgotten what they shared or the injustice that the wrong pair survived. He can’t help the animosity he feels towards Jubilee … but getting to know who she’s become starts to make him wonder if he’s been missing out all these years.
Jubilee Cope never found another man to win her heart after his twin brother Eitan. She’s working hard and becoming successful, but there’s something missing … and as strange as it might sound, Zee seems to be filling the slot pretty well now that she’s in close quarters with him!
Oh my goodness! This series just keeps getting better and better! Two sets of twins and they each dated each other, what could go wrong? Apparently everything when a freak accident takes one twin of each couple. The survivors hated each other, they couldn’t even stand to be in The same room with each other for more than five minutes or they would start bickering. They then moved out of the town but held so many bad memories for them and end up moving to same town. But Zee and Jubilee avoid each other only interacting with each other when they absolutely have to. Then one drunken night everything changes for these two, add a stalker and you have an excellent story. From enemies to lovers will Zee and Jubilee put their differences aside and build a relationship? I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!! I highly recommend this book!
GAH!! The Bear Bottom Guardians MC series is amazing!! I love every book in this series – I swear these just keep getting better! Lani Lynn Vale is an amazing author!! Zee and Jubilee’s story was perfect! I cannot wait for more from this series!!
Enemies to lovers romance
Zee is next up to find his person in this fabulous Bear Bottom Guardians MC series! He is a police deputy but also has other jobs on the side which keep him busy, flying a helicopter and also as a tattoo artist. Jubilee is a mortician and takes after her mom and aunt in that regard. Her and Zee have grown up together but always clashed, and after a fatal accident to their siblings, they haven’t spoken to each other in years. Now, they both find themselves in the same bar drowning their sorrows because of their shared heartache and it leads to something neither thought would ever happen
Loved this story and I’m looking forward to Turner’s story next
It does really happen and Zee and Jubilee are still holding guilt, blame and resentment 16 years on. One blurry night things change but what will it take for them both to put aside the guilt and blame to realize what is right in front of their eyes. Their story is fiery, hot tempered, steamy as and packed full of quick wit. These two draw you in and have you trying to decide whether to referee or cheer them on. A story of childhood connections that on reflection may have always been more than just aggravation. It happens is action packed and had me laughing out loud at 1am in the morning as these two took every chance to have the last word.
What happens in Bare Bottom will blow your mind, folks. Well, at least in this particular romantic tale. Since I’m a relative newbie to this town series, I’m wasn’t fully prepared for what was revealed in Zee and Jubilee’s complicated, hot mess of a past history. In fact, I think I’m still processing it all and wondering how many times it was mentioned in the previous books. It certainly was a lot for this main couple to carry around on their shoulders and in their hearts. The scars they carry are certainly reminders. However, it was oddly sweet how they bound them together.
What I do know is Jubilee’s unusual occupation seemed to suit her. It didn’t deaden her appeal whatsoever. It fact it livened her character up quite a bit. That sassy, spirited leading lady’s quick temper and sharp, witty tongue may get her in hot water from time to time, but I felt sorry for the dark shadow she had to overcome. It seemed it was about time Zee and she had a real future to look forward to.
There is an old saying, “You often can’t do anything right when you’re living but can do no wrong when you’re dead.” Meaning, when a loved one passes we tend to forget about their mistakes and mentally memorialize them as perfect saints. I felt that applied here in regards to Jubilee’s sister.
Though I was disappointed to learn Zee had past history with two other women, in addition to Jubilee’s sister, after the tragic event, I had to shake it off and focus on the here and now.
This main couple were antagonist, verbal enemies, always trying to get each other’s goat, but you know what they say about the fine line between love and hate. Once they crossed it, there was no going back. The ending result was numerous very graphic smexy scenes with lusty language.
So as not to give away spoilers, I’ll wrap this up by saying I’m glad Jubilee and Zee finally have something to celebrate and truly be happy about.

There is a fine line between love and hate.
This story was like watching the boy pulling on the girls pigtails but what the man he is now really wants to do is so much naughtier.
Zeke and Jubilee constantly argue and have been dancing around each other since they were kids and then ‘It Happens’! One hot steamy night that neither really remembers but what lingers between them is the need to be together. They now see each other differently and they are able to put aside some of their differences. So, when they finally come together flames flew from the pages it was so hot!
3.5 ‘Struck by Lightning’ Stars
Well, Zee and Jubillee’s love story was quite a tumultuous and never boring journey!!! And surprising in so many ways, that I did not see coming, at ALL!
Zee has been one very intriguing – much like a lot of his MC brothers – character, that I’ve been dying to uncover, but I did not expect all this background and his already existing – or should I say prickly, lol – connection with Jubillee, his childhood ‘friend’/nemesis.
If I may say myself, I’m a huge sucker for a good banter and back and forth, and these two really gave us that at the start, and I could totally see that spiraling to something more, specially after an weakened resistance state, lmao. I wish we could have witness that ‘moment’ first hand, instead of after the fact, but that’s just my greedy self talking. What I did not in any way expect, and was put off, to be honest was that after so many years of knowing each other, and witnessing each others life, or better yet, Jubillee seeing first hand all the life and experience that Zee, did indeed have – all the status possible, and all big life marks, relationship and so, he indeed had them all in the past – and specially given they were in no way hung up on each other, I was so very disappointed and to be honest, shocked that she was still a virgin at her age, and with no meaningful or truly justifiable reason for being so, and enhanced and pointed out so many times, I just couldn’t let go. Yeah, it’s one of MY personal pet peeves, so I’m sure most won’t be bothered by it, but had she been half as experienced, relationship and sexually wise, as Zee was I would have sure thrilled and even more overjoyed for this two and that they finally got the HEA that they absolutely deserved after the tragedy of their past.
That being said, as all of Ms. Vale’s story, I soaked this one up from start to finish, and swooned and cheered Zee and Jubillee on how their relationship evolved and how they embraced it. Ans specially how they still kept that little bit of bickering that made them THEM!
The funny and suspenseful moments were exciting and as addictive as usual, and seeing Castiel and Turner’s interactions, and Liner’s hints on his mystery – not no much so for us LLV fans, lol – woman, have be counting down the days for next month for my Lani Lynn Vale fix and a brand new Bear Bottom Guardians MC. If you haven’t started this series yet, you truly are missing out on a MUST read! <3 <3 <3
