Jack Sanders built his career as an army intelligence operative on his uncanny ability to anticipate what the enemy will do next–but he never anticipated the trouble he’s landed in. Removed from duty, his future on the line, he’ll have to accept a truly unusual mission to redeem himself. His orders are clear: head to Montana, marry General Reed’s daughter, and secure the family’s ranch once and … and for all from the drug cartel trying to get a toe hold in Chance Creek.
Everyone knows Alice Reed gets hunches about what might happen. What they don’t know is she’s got one blind spot: her own future. But she’s watched four men arrive to marry her four sisters. It doesn’t take a psychic to predict her father plans to send a man for her, as well. But when Jack arrives, Alice knows she’s in trouble. He seems as aware of the future as she is; and he wants something from her she swore she’d never give to a man her father sent–
Her heart.

WOW Cora Seton has certainly upped her game with this book. This book is filled with so much mystery it kept me on the edge most of the time wondering what would happen next. Just when I thought I had it figured out something would change my mind.
Jack Sanders arrived at Chance Creek, Montana with some bad news. He was the last one from the General’s bogus Joint Task Force for Inter-branch Communication Clarity and he was her to marry Alice, the last of the General’s five daughters.
This book pulls at the heartstrings in a number of places as this family fights for each other and the love begins to heal wounds that were created when the General either wouldn’t or couldn’t return to Two Willows. But now he had no choice, he had returned home. But would his daughters ever make him feel like he belonged.
This book is wonderfully written and easy to follow the story and at times I even had to grab a kleenex. Yes, it has all the feels, danger, romance, betrayal but then it all comes down to love of a family for each other.
Enjoyed the whole series!
This is the 5th book in the series. For each sisters’ story, they’ve been similar, but so very different. I thought there was a lot of action in the others, but this story was the “WOW”! I loved Alice’s resignation, but acceptance. Her fight and her love! Jack had such sadness, but strength, caution, but willingness. I liked how Alice and Jack each had a gift, different, but compatible. Amazing characters and a wonderful story for the Brides of Chance Creek! I love how each sister found not just a husband, but companionship and true love! Now to me the series should end, here, but then Amelia seems to be running the show!
Beautifully written with great characters, a wonderful story to cherish.
Very enjoyable series ! One more to go !
What a way to end it! ~ or is it over?? 😉 ~ there’s still Wye and Emerson!!! I have no regrets ~ I typically read one book each night, but I had to see how this ended, so I stayed up and finished both #4 AND #5! 😮 I NEVER do that!!! But it was soooooo worth it!!!!
Thank you, Ms Seton, for another WONDERFUL Chance Creek family!!!
Loved the story line can’t wait to read the next book
Wonderful story with great characters! I love this series! Following the Reed sisters and their stories kept me entertained for hours. Every book can be a stand alone, but I enjoyed following all of them.
Annie is the last sister to receive one of the General’s men at the door and knows what is supposed to happen. She can see the future only not for herself, she realizes he is the one who had been sending the drone fondly on the families maze and calls him a cheater. Not a good start for a future together. The maze won’t let him enter it blocks his path every time he attempts to enter it.
An action-packed page turner. Cora Seton always creates hunky heroes and strong, independent female leads. Exceptional story. This was suppose to be the last book in the series but, Yippee!, we get one more-Wyoming and Emerson’s story. Can’t wait!
R Rated. I really enjoyed this book very much until the erotic scenes began. The characters, Alice and Jack, were wonderful, the dialogue was realistic, and the plot was tight. Jack’s surveillance oversight was a bit unbelievable, and the sex was too frequent and unnecessary.
This is the story of Jack and Alice. The fifth daughter of the General. There are still forces trying to ruin the family that the previous husbands were working with the sheriff. Jack’s biggest problem is his disbelief in Alice’s psychic powers. Alice couldn’t marry anyone that didn’t believe.
A excellent story
I like all of Cora Seton’s books.
Loved this whole series.
Love this series
Love!!! Love!!!
I love the whole series.
Read four of the five books so far. Page turner for all of them. Ready to get the fifth book. Make sure you read them in order. Funny at some points.
An excellent ending (almost) to a fascinating series. Actually, much better than I had imagined it would be. The overall threat to Two Willows is abolished. All the men are either married or about to be. Or are they? I guess you’ll have to listen to find out.
This story stands on it’s own. There is an overall story arch that flows from one story to another but you do not need it to get lost in thI e current story.
Very predictable. But you will want to see how all the sisters end up. Cute
