Sniper Hunter Powell thought he lost everything when he took the rap for a crime he didn’t commit. Now he’s got a chance to redeem himself. There’s only one catch–he has to leave the military, settle down on a Montana ranch–and marry a woman he’s never met before. Jo Reed, the youngest of five sisters, is used to being underestimated, so when a hardened warrior shows up on her doorstep, she … doorstep, she knows no one believes she’s ready for love. Maybe they’re right, but she’s definitely ready for a home of her own and now she has someone to build it for her.
Building a house before the snow flies is a tall order, and convincing Jo to marry him doesn’t seem much easier, but Hunter is ready for both challenges–
Until danger strikes Two Willows again–and threatens to destroy any chance at happiness that might be in his grasp.

Jo might be the youngest of the Reed sisters, but she sure is feisty! Hunter might be the oldest of the men under the command of General Reed, but he’s got some learning to do, and Jo’s the one to teach him! I truly enjoyed their banter! I’ve enjoyed watching the sisters grow and their strengths come to light. How they flow in running Two Willows and how the men begin to fit in! Loving this series!
The sweetest
Well written, good story and characters. Loved this series.
Great series!
I really enjoyed reading this story .
This is the third in The Brides of Chance Creek series . This story is just as fabulous as the others . Hunter Powell a Navy Seal Sniper is next to be sent to Two Willows to win Jo Reed’s love and marry her . If Hunter thinks it will be easy he is in for a big surprise . Jo is prepared to stop him at the door . She’s not one to easily trust . Like the other men the General have sent for his daughters Hunter has his work cut out for him . Danger is once again on the door stop of Two Willows . I highly recommend taking the time to read this outstanding story .
I really thought they’d taper off in quality and intensity or become cookie-cutter books ~ but NO!!!! Just as each bride is different, so is each military man sent to the girls ~ different temperaments, different backgrounds, different reasons for being there. The single thing the guys have in common is their ‘goodness’ ~ they are moral, loyal, upstanding men, even if the Military thought otherwise. How will #4 and #5 top these first three???? Ms Seton, AMAZING!!!
I recommend the whole series….excellent
Cora Seton’s series should come with a warning. You will fall in love with Chance Creek. You will be lost when each book ends, only because you didn’t want it too, not because it didn’t wrap up. You will never want this series to end but it will. The way the characters come alive in this series is something I’ve not experienced before. It really kicks in after you move to the second family in the series. I really hope she goes to Silver Falls instead of trilogies. Her writing is amazing and I’d like 700 page books or longer on each character! It is that good. The sex scenes, yes they are there, are few and GREAT. I have no problem with it. People do it, that’s how I got here. If it’s not your cup of tea then just skip past it, no harm no foul.
The youngest Feed sister gets the Navy Sniper sent to be her husband by the General. She has the gift of knowing what animals and people are feeling, so she can tell if what people are saying doesn’t match up to what they are feeling.
An action-packed page turner. Cora Seton always creates hunky heroes and strong, independent female leads. Exceptional story. Starting the next book in the series right now!
Although a good stand alone story on its own, I enjoyed how the overarching storyline in the series progressed in this book. The characters where believable as they had their moment to overcome. It was especially good to see healthy communication in conflict resolution. Good spent time reading this book
I have read this series love them all.
Loved this whole series! Each is a stand-alone book so you can’t go wrong with any of them!
I listened to the Audiobook for this one. The narration was ok, but the story was interesting. I really enjoyed Hunter and Jo. There was a little action, not too much angst, and a few steamy scenes.
I thought Hunter was sweet. He tried to be in tune with what Jo wanted and needed. Even after she would get angry with him, he tried to step back and objectively look at what happened. Jo seemed to provide Hunter with that soft, safe place to land.
After Hunter was hit with a few truths he was unaware of about his mother, and after his friend made his revelation, he didn’t react like I expected him to react. That was a pleasant surprise.
I hope as the books move forward, we will finally see the end of the Reed sisters problems.
I was able to listen to this via the Audible Romance subscription.
Love this book!
I loved this book. the feeling you get as you read is like no athere
Another good addition to the Brides of Chance Creek series. It story stands on it’s own but is enhanced when read in series order. I am noticing a pattern in the stories that if it keeps up could grow old quickly. It’s like just waiting for the details of what you know will happen. I hope this changes in the next story but am not holding my breath.
That said. I enjoyed Jo’s story. Her need for independence from her sister’s and an acknowledgement of who she is inside. Hunter’s a good match for her, he is facing some very difficult decisions and really needs someone who can believe in him. I think Jo will do that.
Hunter wasn’t sure how he was going to win her over but he was sur.e he wanted to. After her last two boyfriends Jo had sworn off men. But Huntemr what different.
I loved the third book in this Brides of Chance Creek series because I admired the strength and tenacity Jo had through everything she faced, even this Navy SEAL sniper who just happened to choose Connor and Sadie’s wedding day to make his appearance. These two were cut from the same cloth, both resilient in their brokenness. She fought for her independence even as she found herself wanting the closeness she could have with him. And as much as they wondered whether their age difference would be their biggest hurdle, there were more difficult things to get past in order to find the connection they needed to have their happily ever after. It’s steamy and perilous and fantasy all wrapped up in an impossible romance.
I think one of my favorite aspects of these stories in particular is the magic. Each of the women seems to have some kind of connection to the land and their heritage that nothing has the power to break. And each of the men complements these women in ways none of them expected to want. It’s romance at its finest with some dangerous mystery involved to keep us watching. As much as I love this entire story, my favorite scene in the book is the last one. I won’t tell you how it ends…you have to read the book. Thank you for another wonderful and breathtaking read, Ms Seton.
The series is a great read. Loved all five books. The suspense from one book to the next was a very good read. As soon as you are done with one you wanted to get to the next. Fast read.
