Sniper Hunter Powell thought he lost everything when he took the rap for a crime he didn’t commit. Now he’s got a chance to redeem himself. There’s only one catch–he has to leave the military, settle down on a Montana ranch–and marry a woman he’s never met before. Jo Reed, the youngest of five sisters, is used to being underestimated, so when a hardened warrior shows up on her doorstep, she … doorstep, she knows no one believes she’s ready for love. Maybe they’re right, but she’s definitely ready for a home of her own and now she has someone to build it for her.
Building a house before the snow flies is a tall order, and convincing Jo to marry him doesn’t seem much easier, but Hunter is ready for both challenges–
Until danger strikes Two Willows again–and threatens to destroy any chance at happiness that might be in his grasp.

Loved the series. Great idea for a series- a father finding each of daughters. The General planned well In choosing each military man. Fun!!!
I love all of Cora Seton’s books. I keep reading series after series and can’t wait for my next find.
have read the first 4 books of the bride series love them all the women are strong funny and the father “General” who try’s to set their future up for them is and interesting character with a story of his own. great series read them all.
First I have to say I love the way the General’s next choice shows up at the end of the previous book. It’s not a cliff-hanger but more of an introduction and he comes bearing a gift for the bride and groom. It will certainly have you buying the next book. The letters from the General’s late wife will also have you sniffling even as you’re angry he hasn’t returned to the ranch, not even for the weddings.
Each of these women are connected to the ranch, each has an ability that makes them a bit different, magical. In Jo’s case she can get feelings from someone when she touches them. It’s a way to see if they’re sincere, although that’s been off since her last two boyfriends have tried to kill her family. She also breeds dogs and has a waiting list a mile long. We see a lot of these dogs throughout the books.
Now Hunter is here to build something for her, what she wants is her own house. She’s tired of being treated like a child and wants a space to call hers. The General is not pleased with this turn of events, but Hunter is determined to win Jo over. It a house is what it takes, then a house she will have.
Now it seems the trouble with the drug runners may not be over when Jo’s horse is injured. Now everyone’s on guard again.
There’s still a lot going on and Hunter also has a friend that appears to have a lot of problems he’s not handling well.
Laughter, tears, anxiety, drama on both sides, and a simmering to sizzle relationship will have you turning the pages. I am truly loving this series in spite of the General’s stubbornness.
I love it, it didn’t take me long to read it. It had an excellent plot and made me want to hurry and finish it.

The continuing saga of the Brides of Chance Creek, Book 3 by Cora Seton and what a way to continue this series as the men keep coming to Two Willows! ! !
This story is about Jo Reed and Hunter Powell and of course, the General August Reed and along with the letters from his deceased wife. When the General reads the letters he chooses another man from his unit which he has handpicked to marry each of his daughters and keep them safe from harm and to make Two Willows (the ranch) prosper.
Jo has watched two of her sisters fall in love and marry the men her father has sent to help with Two Willows and she is determined that she will not fall when it’s her turn….until she opens the door to Hunter and the sparks fly as they both like what they see. She is determined to get Hunter to build her a house so she can be on her own but definitely not marry him! While Hunter knows that he has to marry Jo but he also knows he has to bring her around to him and get her to the altar….will he make that happen or will he leave as he did in the past (which got him to the General’s unit in the first place)???
Lots of mystery, sexy banter, secrets, stealing the home on wheels, spiritual magic and finding love when you least expect it.
Once you start this book you won’t be able to put it down until the last word is read…..can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Love all of her books!
One of a group of stories . Good on its own but rather makes you look for the others in the series. I was so glad that I did.
Another awesome series
Read all of Brides of Chance Creek. Good Books.
I’m really enjoying this series. Jo Reed and Hunter Powell’s chemistry is hot and amazing. This story is packed full of mystery, excitement, danger, and love. Was hard to put down. Highly recommend, a must read. Can’t wait for Lena and Logan’s story. Sure love Cora Seton’s books!!
I really enjoyed the book. She has strong independent women and the men are alpha men that need to learn how to do with strong willed independent women. It makes for really enjoyable reading. I have read the series so far and can’t wait till the next book is out.
I am addicted to anything written by Cora. Have read most of her completed series’ . Anxiously await each new publication.
I love Cora Seton
This series helps you to see how each story plot entwine with the next story. Will their father return to his daughters. I loved each story in the series. Each daughter is paired with a military man adapter to her unique qualities. His job is to make her fall in love with him. Just delightful.
I’ve read most of Ms. Seaton’s bookas and I truly enjoy them. My brain does t hurt trying to keep track of characters and each book in her series can stand alone, although she skillfully weaves in characters from other books. I read her books when traveling, relaxing on the front porch, waiting anywhere…I like her writing!
I’ve enjoyed the entire series.
