Marry—or else.Navy SEAL Brian Lake is out of luck. Going rogue on his last mission landed him on a fast track out of the Navy—years too soon to have saved up enough money to buy the ranch he’s always wanted. Without a career—or the cash to start over—Brian’s options are few, until Army general Augustus Reed steps in with an intriguing new mission—a permanent one.Ignored by her absentee father, … absentee father, duped by thief he appointed to oversee her family’s ranch, Cass Reed is done with men for good. From now on she’s determined to run Two Willows herself, so when her father sends a Navy SEAL to fix up her house, she vows to run him off her land as soon as possible. But Brian’s just as determined to stay, and he’s in a far different league than the men she’s met before.
Brian’s ready to do anything that will earn him a share of a prosperous ranch—even take a chance on marrying the General’s daughter. And he soon realizes it won’t be a hardship to marry Cass. She’s everything he’s ever dreamed of in a woman—and Two Willows is everything he wanted in a ranch.
But he’s not the only one who wants Two Willows—and Cass.
Will falling in love be the most dangerous mission of all?

Predictable but enjoyable
I love the way Ms Seton is drawing attention to our service men after they leave the service. And there’s no place more fun to meet one than Chance Creek. She turns situations that could go south into love affairs that you want to wrap your heart around.
Cass and Brian are just that kind of couple. As much as she fights it, Brian knows what he wants besides his own ranch. He wants it to be the one he’s working on called Two Willows, and he wants it to be with Cass. There’s never been a good story without conflict, and this one comes in the form of Bob Finchley and his gang of miscreants. He’s not just a jilted lover but has so many negatives that you find a new one the more you read.
When Cora Seton brings us back to Chance Creek, and it always feels like we’re coming home. I feel personally connected to each character and family she builds, and I’m always looking forward to the next book. There are still four men left at the USSOCOM. I can’t wait to see what kind of mischief the rest of the women on the ranch get into with our misguided heroes.
Light, predictable, just little cute story
I really enjoyed this book. Actually , this is book one of a five part series. Book one was free, but it accomplished what was intended. I just bought book two!
Some of the dialogue was implausible. I couldn’t see a bad ass, drug dealing villain yelling to a young woman he’d slept with,”you’re dead meat!” It seemed forced,at best.
I really don’t understand the General.
I guess I’ll have to read the next books in the series to see what makes him tick. Probably intended by Ms. Seaton.
The beginning of this book is far fetched but does create a foundation for the rest of this book and those to come. The descriptions of the scenes is very good the sex is mild with a few “F” bombs.
I really liked the quirky characters in this book, all of them flawed but with redeeming qualities. There was a great deal of romance coupled with a great deal of action. This book had a little bit of everything for everyone. I am starting to read the next in the series. Cora Seton writes very good books.
I have to admit when I read this title I was a little more than intrigued. After reading the blurb I was hooked. I’ve heard of manipulating fathers, but the General really takes the prize. Although he has his reasons for doing it and the timing is just about perfect.
Now the General’s five daughters are not happy with him and this latest ‘stunt’ by him has them all fuming.
The first meeting with Cass was not a very auspicious beginning, but right in line with what he was expecting. Now he has to figure out a way to win her over.
Of course there has to be more than just fixing up the house, there are men involved with the other girls and they are trouble. Unfortunately they don’t realize it and things get interesting really fast.
Fun, flirty, sexy and plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages. I have read the others in this series and I am waiting patiently for the next one coming in July.
kept a good action packed pace but wouldve enjoyed more sex scenes and wouldve loved for someone to slap the crap out of te general
Fast-paced, addictive plot with unexpected twists and well developed characters you can’t help but fall for. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable. A little bit of everything in this book, strong women, sexy but kind men, romance, drama, action and suspense. A standalone with no cliffhanger.
Love the premise. I want to be a Bennett sister.
Great for the hopeless romantic
I ended up reading this entire series after this first book. Though the concept seemed a bit far-fetched, the characters overcame the original premise for me. There were enough twists and turns in the plot to make it more than the standard fare romance. I enjoyed this book and the remainder of the books in the series which build on each other
I’m beginning to really like this author.
This is my first book from this author and I am hooked! Set near Billings, Montana puts the setting close to my home and brought a thrill to me to read it because I could picture the scenery. Feisty sisters and one Navy SEAL made this an interesting and fun read.
Loved it
This story has unexpected turns that captured my interest and will keep me reading the entire series. It’s more than a meddling, distant father manipulating his daughters by sending a man to “deal with them.” These daughters have met their matches, but received the help they needed at the right time. As much suspense as romance. I look forward to the other books.
The premise of the book was so unrealistic: absentee father selects and sends future husbands to help incompetent daughters save the ranch and straighten up their lives Slightly screwed up Seals are willing to give up their professional lives for the love of women that their commander chose for them. The writing was competent but the storyline was weak.
It was an entertaining story, but I couldn’t reallly bring myself to like the mercurial main character. It also kept Itching at me as I read that the whole plotline is kinda insulting. An absent father hand-picks alpha males as matches for his estranged daughters, who just happen to be incredibly naive around men to fill the void of the father who left. It’s a good story if you can get past the wish-washy main character and highly unlikely series of events.
I have read all of the currently published books in this series. I find them fun and easy reading. The character, particularly the girls are interesting. For an easy read, I recommend the series.
