Marry—or else.Navy SEAL Brian Lake is out of luck. Going rogue on his last mission landed him on a fast track out of the Navy—years too soon to have saved up enough money to buy the ranch he’s always wanted. Without a career—or the cash to start over—Brian’s options are few, until Army general Augustus Reed steps in with an intriguing new mission—a permanent one.Ignored by her absentee father, … absentee father, duped by thief he appointed to oversee her family’s ranch, Cass Reed is done with men for good. From now on she’s determined to run Two Willows herself, so when her father sends a Navy SEAL to fix up her house, she vows to run him off her land as soon as possible. But Brian’s just as determined to stay, and he’s in a far different league than the men she’s met before.
Brian’s ready to do anything that will earn him a share of a prosperous ranch—even take a chance on marrying the General’s daughter. And he soon realizes it won’t be a hardship to marry Cass. She’s everything he’s ever dreamed of in a woman—and Two Willows is everything he wanted in a ranch.
But he’s not the only one who wants Two Willows—and Cass.
Will falling in love be the most dangerous mission of all?

I enjoyed this book so much that I read the whole series. The General, father of five daughters, sends each daughter a man to marry, Throw in a little fantasy and a drug ring and you have an usual tale.
I enjoyed the General’s machinations. Cool characters and interesting plot.
What a pleasant story to read. Strong females in a mans world. I could hardly put this story down i say “excellent girl power”
I was in a bit of a slump and with a TBR list that will never end, I knew the only thing I could do was turn to Cora Seton! I had not yet read the Brides of Chance Creek series, so I knew it would be a great place to start!
Five sisters that had faced so much heart ache in their young years and shouldered so much responsibility, especially Cass, the oldest. And no wonder their trust issues. But Brian was up to the task he was assigned! Sure made for some interesting reading! Surely the rest of the series will be a litter tamer! Right?
I enjoyed this book.
Always a good read with this author. I try to get as many as I can. She uses humor is a unusual way a lot.
One Army General, five headstrong Daughters, a Ranch in need of repairs and a SEAL who needs a new start ofter stuffing up his career. This story has lots of twist and turns. The five Reed girls have all managed to find dead beat boyfriends but once Brian Lake arrives at Two Willows things take a turn for the better. Cass and Brian make a great couple and I can’t wait to see the other girls find their HEA.
This series is lots of fascinating things. It’s modern-day arranged marriages, it’s cowboys and the wild west, it’s suspense, it’s a little witchy, and it’s a ton of heart. These are lovely, comforting books and they’ve taken over my Kindle recently.
Little farfetched but entertaining.
I really enjoyed reading this story . It is fantastic . General Augustus Reed opens a letter one of many his wife wrote before she died . He agrees with the letter it’s time to do something about their daughters futures starting with the eldest Cass . For years the General has sent overseer’s to run Two Willows the families Ranch . He has-been feuding with his daughters over who should run things . The girls run everyone he sends off . The General hatches his plan . He sends Navy Seal Brian Lakes to help the daughters secure the Ranch and protect them and win Cass’s heart and marry her . Brian has his work cut out for him . This story is action packed and suspenseful , intriguing and wonderful. I highly recommend reading .
I am SOOO hooked! I can’t decide if I want to inhale these books, or slowly savor them . . . . FABULOUS story arc ~ what a GREAT set of characters . . . . 5 flawed, wonderful, different sisters deal with a large ranch; one runs the cattle, one sews dresses and costumes, one deals with the animals, one deals with the house . . . .and they’re all tied to the property through their dead mother and a monolithic stone situated inside a 20′ high hedge maze. Ms Seton: I don’t know HOW you do it, but please DO NOT STOP WRITING these AMAZING stories!!!
The first book in an excellent series. I recommend reading every book in this series.
Great book! Loved it!!!
Love this book and this new series. The book may be a little far fetched from the military stand point but I just love the women and how strong they are, what they stand for and the home they are willing to protect and keep at all costs. This is just the beginning for this group and I am already invested to read each and every story for this group of wonderful women. The General has his work cut out for him.
Different story line. Unusual plot. Loved the characters.
I loved the characters in the book and the storylines where great. 5 sisters trying to run a ranch with an absentee father running interference. There father the General hand picks five men to send one at time for each of his daughters to marry. The Navy seal is first to show up.
An action-packed page turner. Cora Seton always creates hunky heroes and strong, independent female leads. Exceptional story. Starting the next book in the series right now!
Okay, set aside the totally improbable initial setup and enjoy the thriller and romance. Right next door to Cora Seaton’s Westfield Seals and overlapping are the Two Willows ladies. This is story 1 in that series and it is really great. Improbable, but great love and fun.
Enjoyed the book and characters in the story. Looked forward to and enjoyed the following storylines
The story grabs you from the beginning, as the premise is so absurd yet surprisingly fun and invigorating, as it is so refreshingly different. Left me buying book number 2 straight after reading this one.
