Marine Logan Hughes uses humor like a shield, but he’s dead serious when it comes to getting the job done–especially when the job is protecting the woman he’s been sent to Montana to marry. Too bad Lena Reed doesn’t think she needs protecting…or a husband. Lena knows she’s the best one to run her family’s ranch, and she’ll be damned if she’ll let a man her father sent steal control of her … control of her cattle operation–or her heart. But Logan Huges isn’t like any other man she’s met. Fiercely loyal, as determined as she is to let her take charge of the ranch, she’s falling for him in spite of herself.
But when trouble comes to Two Willows, will she trust him–or turn her back on love for good?

A complete page turner. I couldnt put it down. I’m thoroughly enjiyingbthe series
He wants a future; she wants her freedom. She’s been sent a Marine whether she wants one or not.
I love a good book with a strong-willed, independent heroine and a complex hero! (Bonus points that he’s a marine!)
Cora is in my auto purchase list. You can never go wrong with her books. I highly recommend getting this latest book.
Clash of the wills! Lena and Logan had quite the battle going on! Lena had witnessed her 3 sisters succumb to marriage, so when Logan showed up at the front door during the reception of the 3rd wedding, Lena went into instant fight mode to protect her heart and her land. Lena and Logan were a lot of fun to read! I loved the banter between them, but I really loved when their banter turned to like, love and romance! What an exciting series! Amazing characters!
I’m a mood reader. It doesn’t matter whether I’ve been anticipating a new release for a decade, if I’m not in the exact right mood, I can’t read it. Which is what brought me to the Brides of Chance Creek series.
Last summer, I was in the mood for something … different. I didn’t know what kind of different I wanted but I knew I wanted it to be a total opposite from anything I’d read recently. As if cosmically connected, this book appeared in my daily BookBub email and I knew I wanted to read it right away.
Ordinarily, I’m not drawn to arranged marriage stories. Just not my tropey catnip. But the prologue and first chapters of this book sucked me in immediately. I wanted to know more about these sisters, about their ranch, about the military men being dispatched to marry them.
And I just.kept.reading.
I blew through six books in record time. I barely looked up until the very last HEA was delivered.
What you need to know:
– small town, western setting, and all the trappings of small towns and the west. Cowboys, denim, pickup trucks, a bit of lawlessness, and a whole lot of can-do attitude.
– About that can-do attitude…the heroes and the heroines have it, and they lock horns a fair bit. These women aren’t so keen to be married off.
– About that lawlessness… there’s some suspense woven in and it culminates in some heart-racing scenes (in certain books).
– a bit of witchy-mystical but not nearly enough for it to be fantasy/paranormal. If you’re not into that sort of thing, you can still happily read this series.
– By the end of this series, I knew I was going to read other Chance Creek series from Cora because I needed to know about the various side characters who’d been mentioned.
I like how the romance wasn’t an instant thing. The two characters had to learn to trust each other and I loved how they built that trust based on the common of feeling like they weren’t good enough in their parents eyes. I love the healing they found in each other.
Loved this entire series by Cora Seton. I highly recommend this series but I think it should read in order.
Good characters, good read, sweet, funny, sexy.
Always enjoy Cora Seaton’s books!
The General’s groom issuing entire series was amazing!
Kick ass women, know it all men, and one medling father, (aka The General), made for some fun, action, and plain enjoyable reads!
This whole issued to the bride series has been fun to read. Cora Seton has such an imagination.
For this entire scheme to work so well ~ for the General to have chosen so incredibly correctly ~ 4 out of 5 weddings! INCREDIBLE odds!! Can #5 do it? It’s waaaay past my bedtime, and I only read one each night, but ~ I’m going for it! I HAVE to see how this ends!!! On to #5 IMMEDIATELY! {I’ll pay for it tomorrow, but it’s so right to read it now!}
I love the whole set
Loved this whole series!
The “Issued to the Bride…” series has been enjoyable from the first through the fourth books (that’s as far as I’ve read as of today). I look forward to the 5th book in the series, and I wish the General had more than five daughters so that the series could continue. Mature subject matter: Expect a love scene or two involving a monogamous couple. Minimal bad language. These are generally sweet stories.
Great military romance! Who doesn’t love a sexy Marine?
A great military romance that you don’t want to miss!
If you like military romance, pick this one up! The conflict is great and the characters are so real. I love Lena’s independence. This is one of those books with both a strong hero and heroine, which are my favorites.
Very predictable but I enjoyed it. Once you read one your want to read them all.
I like all of Cora Seton’s books. As soon as I finish one I want to read the next in the series!
