Airman Connor O’Riley doesn’t believe in love. But when he crosses into a warzone to rescue a downed pilot, and finds an elderly Syrian couple has kept the man safe, he’s moved by the pair’s long-term devotion to each other to rescue them, too—and promptly lands himself in hot water. Shunted aside to a make-work, multi-branch detail under Army general Augustus Reed, Connor will do whatever it … takes to clear his name—even if that means heading to Montana to marry the general’s daughter.
Sadie Reed is done with love. Her poor choices nearly got her sisters killed when she fell for a man entrenched in the drug trade. She’s ready to leave Chance Creek—just as soon as her sister returns from her honeymoon. So when the handsome airman shows up at Two Willows, with orders from her father to help Sadie build a legacy project, she gives Connor one month to get it done.
Connor never thought he’d fall for Sadie, but when he learns she means to leave, he knows far more than his mission is at stake. Can he convince her to stay?
Or will love remain out of his reach for good?

It’s great read
An action-packed page turner. Cora Seton always creates hunky heroes and strong, independent female leads. Exceptional story. Starting the next book in the series right now!
There’s danger at Two Willows. Can a natural born flirt of an airman stay in place long enough to fall in love and save Sadie? Very enjoyable story!
Have read this series. Loved it.
I listened to the Audiobook. This was not one of my favorites. I didn’t really care for either Sadie or Connor. The whole flirting thing he had going on was irritating. I don’t care if flirting is second nature to you, you know when you are doing it, and you know if you are trying to have a serious relationship with someone, you shouldn’t be doing it.
I will give Sadie being able to communicate with nature, but when she discovered the connection with Connor, it felt like she was trying to use him.
There was action, suspense, some intrigue, romance, and steamy scenes. The narration didn’t do much for me either. I feel badly about it, but it made me want to pick up the book and just read it.
I was able to listen via the free 1st month Romance subscription through Audible.
Love this series.
I am finding myself enjoying this particular series more than I thought I would. I’m still uncertain about the time line within the Chance Creek world but right now it doesn’t matter. Right now I want to get into the next story and it isn’t available yet. This is why I generally don’t start a series until it is completely finished being written. Frustration and I are not good buddies.
In any case whether you are like me or can handle the wait, the stories so far are worth it.
This was a quick read and easy to follow the characters. You get to know the characters as the story develops and as there are many sisters, you can easily see yourself in some of them.
I couldn’t get past the first few chapters…but that could just be me.
love her stuff, too–can’t wait for more!
One of a series of very repetitive books. Unlikely premise….a general is so emotional over his wife’s death years ago that he cannot visit his home or his five daughters? DUH and that is just the start
Easy read
Highly unlikely story! A General has more important issues than finding military husbands for his daughters. And would be frowned upon by chiefs of staff. Ridiculous scenario.
I don’t appreciate books that use the F word so I never finished reading it. Sad that the author can’t express themselves with out using vulgarity.
Yes it’s a series but each book was too much alike. Didn’t feel like I was reading anything new.
Abrupt ending
The General’s choice for his daughter Sadie is Connor O’Riley.
Now Connor hasn’t always believed in love, and strange as it might seem he saw it overseas. The real deal, love that lasts over time. He wants that too.
Sadie is the gardener in the family. Anything and everything to do with plants she can do. From growing them, to making elixirs for natural remedies. Unfortunately since she’s decided to leave her home the plants have stopped talking to her. She doesn’t know what they need and they’re dying.
Yes the plants talk to her, in this book we see more in depth the magic of their ranch and the girls part in that. The maze with it’s stone is the centerpiece from which most of the magic flows.
Connor went to the stone that first night, and asked his question. Of course the answer isn’t quite clear, it never is.
The discovery that Connor’s touch brought back her magic more than startles Sadie. She couldn’t fall in love she has to leave.
While nothing in love ever goes smoothly, for these two it almost gets broken.
Let’s not forget about the troubles in book one, they come back to haunt us in this one too.
Have I mentioned I love Jo’s dogs?
Lots of fun, magical touches and a bit of drama.
Great Book!!
I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next one
Always love a strong hero who can also be tender
