Five-Star-Chef Zoe Griffin walked away from her dream job. Did she make a mistake? Her engagement off, Zoe Griffin retreats to tiny Wildflower Island in the Puget Sound. Hiding out as a cook and maid at a shabby bed-and-breakfast seems crazy for a chef who’s used to running her own five-star kitchen. And just as she starts to feel at home, her klutzy mishaps make Zoe fear her handsome new boss … new boss will fire her.
Dr. Nick Jackson is done with medicine, and owning a B&B is as far from doctoring as he can get. He needs help, but his only employee’s mistakes give him doubts. As Zoe lets her defenses down, Nick begins to see a competent and caring woman. One whose wounds are as deep as his own. But as they fall for each other, Nick and Zoe must learn the hardest lesson of all—to forgive. Only then can they heal the past and embrace the future . . . together.

OMG! I loved this book. You fall in love with the characters immediately. It’s easy reading. I had about an hour left in the book when I went to bed. I woke up at 4 and finished it. I’m hoping there’s a sequel
I love the concept of the island B&B. The characters were very relatable, and story kept my attention.
Territory
Zoe is trying get away from an ex and roommate that are marrying each other. Nick bought a B&B after his wife’s death and giving up his medical practice. Zoe is going to be his cook and housekeeper. They both need to make closure of past hurts and finding new ways.
This book was a whimsical read. I really enjoyed the characters. I live in Washington so its fun to read books related to this state.
Amazing story. I wish the Wildflower B&B was a real place that I could visit.
Actually a good short romance read. Enjoyed the characters and the story.
Good read. Especially for free. Not a page turner but enjoyable
Cute book. Some realistic, some not. Was a nice take a break type of book. Hit on being loved/adoption.
Cute story.
uneventful
Enjoyable story in a dreamy location. Nice story to get away from every day life. Not entirely predictable, so a good read.
Boring and predictable
I was enjoying this as a light fluffy read until it suddenly went Christian lit. I often enjoy christian lit but dislike when it comes on suddenly and hasn’t been a part of the story all along as this did or when it becomes a sermon. Guilty on that count as well. Sometimes it just feels like the author is telling a story and then remembers “oh yeah, this is supposed to be Christian lit so I’d better add something”. And that is what this one felt like to me.
I often didn’t really understand why the characters behaved like they did. The boss is super nice and seemingly forgiving of goofs but has called the employment agency for a replacement. And he is forgiving of what amounts to breaking and entering and what would be theft if he didn’t go along with the girl taking it in the end and reprimands his employee for being suspicious of the guest before he knows what is going on. If you want to protects guests wouldn’t you want to do more about crime going on in your establishment?
I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but nothing bad ever really happens aside from a few arguments.
So in a nutshell this book is clean, overly simplistic and overly sermonizing. But if you just want to read something light and not think too hard it may still be okay.
Enjoyed the book!
It was okay. Being from the northwest I could visualize living living on an island.
A lot of “thoughts” instead of “dialogue” which makes for repetition.
Great cozy book to read these chilly evenings! Enjoyed the characters and the B&B setting.
So enjoyed reading how the characters discovered what happens in their lives when they begin to look outward and place their focus on something other than just their hurts. True to life events.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so real. I wanted to own a B&B after reading the booka
I was a good read. Touch on Christianity and a developing a personal relationship with God. I enjoyed the romance story line and a hint of mystery.
Loved it !
