Mysterious Poem Leads to Treasure, Murder and Romance in Island Pursuit, a Romantic Suspense from R.T. Wolfe–Present Day, Ibis Island–Decorated war-widow, Willow Martinez-Clearwater, has her hands full with her six-year-old daughter Chloe, and a restaurant and pub to run. Her best friend, Liam, is the closest thing Chloe has to a father and their special moments melt her soul, while Liam’s … moments melt her soul, while Liam’s solid good looks and protective nature work magic in other areas. But Willow has no time for relationships—at least that’s what she keeps telling herself.
Liam, a simple high-school physics teacher, longs for Willow as his wife and Chloe as his daughter but knows he’ll never compete with the memory of Willow’s decorated war-hero husband.
Then Willow discovers a cryptic poem written by her murdered brother. Posting the verse above the bar at her pub, she inadvertently draws hordes of treasure hunters who try to solve the poem’s riddle. But it’s Chloe who helps unravel the mystery pointing to a treasure and places her mom in grave danger.
When an attempt is made on Willow’s life, Liam steps in as protector while still trying to find the nerve to propose.
But with her brother’s murder unsolved, and a treasure to find, Willow is trying to stay one step ahead of the Island’s hawkish treasure hunters willing to do anything for the bounty, while her heart silently pursues her and Chloe’s happily-ever-after.
Publisher’s Note: Known for her intricate plot development and depth of characters, R.T. Wolfe brings loveable characters—and even sea turtles– to life in her fictitious island setting. This sweet and lively romance will be enjoyed by readers 13+ years.
“I love romance books and cut my teeth on Nora Roberts. I can honestly say that this author can compare well as far as keeping the reader hooked on the story from the start, as well as giving just the right amount of detail of the characters that your imagination can fill in the blanks.” ~Paw Prints Promotions
“R.T. has out done herself with this series.” ~Danny and Debbie Scott

This book has so many aspects to it that the reader is hard-pressed to know which topic to follow. There is romance, certainly, but also nature conservation, murder, suspense and just to add to the mix, a treasure hunt. The Clearwater family has protected the turtles on their island for many years, taking their responsibilities with Turtle Watch seriously, which involves the commitment of the whole family. The men that love the Clearwater women become just as committed to their causes and find themselves being wrapped up in their day to day lives. I found this book to be very “busy” with the number of people and activities that were taking place, not to mention the underlying suspense of a family being watched by a mysterious figure. Willow is a military widow and is battling with her feelings regarding his husband’s best friend, Liam Morrison. Liam and the summer students he is tutoring, bring lighter moments to the narrative as he tries to find inventive ways in which to hook their interest. He has also loved Willow Clearwater from afar for some years but has to wait for her to recognise the possibility of a future together. The story comes to a dramatic close, however, it is far from over. The way is left open for another story and hopefully a resolution to the difficulties the family is experiencing. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
When I was offered an Advanced Copy Review for R.T. Wolfe’s newest book, I was excited to have the chance to write a review! I have loved all of her series! Her first series, Black Creek Series, lead into her Nickie Savage Series. I was hooked during the first couple of chapters. To prepare for this newest release in her Island Escapes Series, I decided to reread Island Secrets (Book 1). The three Clearwater sisters had lost their brother in a diving accident. Zoe tragically found the evidence that he’d been murdered. But there was still some things that hadn’t been completely resolved by the end. There was a treasure to be found. So I couldn’t wait to read Willow’s story in this new release (Island Pursuit Book 2)! It was so good I had a hard time putting it down….I finished it in two days. Willow is a decorated war-widow. Liam is her best friend. Her 6 year old daughter, Chloe, looks up to him as a father figure. He was also her husband’s best friend. Both are hesitant to reveal their feelings for each other. Her brother left behind a poem with clues to the treasure. When Liam realizes that Willow is in danger, he becomes her protector. The story line is fast paced. There is definitely no lag time. Twists and turns! But it’s something that little Chloe says that leads Willow to realize she knows where the treasure is hidden! And an added bonus in this series, the side story about sea turtles! Again, not all is resolved. So I can’t wait to read Raine’s story when Book 3 is released. I strongly recommend reading the series in order. She has a way of developing her characters that pulls you in. I love the family dynamics. Love the romance. Love the suspense. If you are new to R.T. Wolfe’s books, as soon as you are done reading Island Secrets and Island Pursuit, move on to her Black Creek Series. It’s an incredible story line. The last book will introduce you to detective Nickie Savage. The Nickie Savage series is a very intense story line but tastefully done without all the graphic details. No doubt you will become a R. T. Wolfe fan, too!
Willow has had a tragic life after her husband dies, but years later has developed a life back home with her family and her daughter. She has a best friend who by all rights should be her boyfriend. Add in a sister who is in charge of saving the turtle eggs during their season and a Mom and Dad who are delightful old hippies, including goats on their roof. We have island life, hurricane weather, a sea adventure that includes possible treasure and the wonderful connection in love.
