Peg Savage has contractually agreed to move to Key West, Florida. The smudged signatures on the damp cocktail napkin are irrefutable proof.“An adventure…” her husband Clark says. Peg can’t swim; she’s afraid of bridges (there are 42 of them); and she doesn’t want to leave her friends. However, after a bottle of Cabernet, a move from Chicago to the southernmost city in the United States seems like … States seems like the best decision ever.
But now Clark has taken a long term job in Cuba and she’s on her own.
Neither her dog Nipper, nor the ghosts in the attic, offer up any good advice. But how hard can it be living in paradise?
Peg dives into island life but the more effort she makes, the wider her wake of catastrophes. She is tortured by a paddle board, a giant poisonous toad, the local Conservation group, and the patron saint of hurricanes. Not to mention the persistent sweat rash under her left breast.
A tropical depression descends on the island – one that can’t be cured with medication. Peg must gather her strength if she has any hope of surviving the storm.

The story is a bit over the top and has a predictable end of relationship but with a LOL karmic twist.
A fun memoir from a terrific new author! I’m delighted to see a sequel in the works!
Ive never been to the keys and was curious about day to day life and people…not sure how true a pictue it provides, but its an entertaining way to learn some things
I was disgusted with the character in this book. It would be terrible to be that lame.
Simple story with some funny lines. It was very easy to read and enjoyable.
The premise was not believable. It needed character development and growth. However, I would recommend it to someone for a light beach read.
This was so bad I didn’t even finish it.
I started this book and did not care for it so did not finish it.
I loved the location, Paris, and bonded with the characters.
I read this at the start of summer. Truly enjoy “visiting” the Keys again
not at all what expected but an entertaining read
This is a hoot. Great beach read.
Great fun summer read, I actually laughed out loud reading, light, fluffy, funny even a bit sad. With a couple of surprises thrown in.
Silly!
This is a simple book to read, nothing heavy about it. I found it very humorous and I loved the ending. I was wishing there were more chapters as I had grown to really like the main character. My only issue was with her friends’ accident with a coconut. There was really no closure to that story line. Would definitely recommend this book. Would be a great beach read.
This is not a book that I can recommend. I bought it because I live in Key West. A fifth grader could do a better job of writing. The book is poorly conceived & infantile.
As a huge Key West fan, I found this book informative and very, very entertaining. I learned a lot about Key West, while being entertained with this tale.
It was ok
not finished. Started it and set it aside for another.
Funniest book I have read in a long time
