From New York Times bestselling author Mary Balogh comes the third novel in the Horsemen Trilogy, in which a proper English lady discovers how desirable she really is after one very improper night… Sophia Armitage does not consider herself attractive. Even her late husband treated her more as a companion than a lover when she accompanied him to war. But Sophia hopes to enjoy a Season in London … Sophia hopes to enjoy a Season in London as her niece makes her social debut—until, that is, her hopes are dashed when she is faced with a threat she can reveal to no one. Then she meets Sir Nathaniel Gascoigne, an old army friend, and falls in love with him even as she must discourage his growing passion for her. Nathaniel can sense Sophia’s unhappiness and fear, but does not understand that his attempts to protect and help her can only bring about her downfall…

I enjoy reading all books by Mary Balough. The plot and characters are interesting and the story always builds to a great ending. Her books never let you down, enjoyed this to the end
I enjoy Mary Balogh’s stories very much. She gives her characters such depth.
I loved their story, but Lavinia and Eden have some wicked banter!
There is no charisma between two main characters.
Mary Balogh is a reigning empress of the complex, yet compellingly readable British historical romance. Definitely an author not to be missed!
Mary Blough is a good writer but sadly she is WAY too descriptive in her sex scenes. She pornographic in my opinion. I always skip these scenes and get on the story. NOT recommended for the young adult. If Mary could clean up her act and be less pornographic I’d read more of her works. Good author but todays oversexed world is partly due to authorsand movies thinking they need to fill in the sex scene blanks to make a good story. Excellent authors do not need to write this way. If Blough wants to be considered excellent such as current writers as Camden, , T. Alexander, and Frantz, or classics such as Heyer, Bronte or Austin, then Blough would take a page out of these author’s books and clean up her act.
I like this author and how her characters intertwine from book to book
You can NEVER go wrong with Mary Jo Putney! This whole trilogy was terrific.
An enjoyable read.

I love all of Mary’s stories
love Mary Balough’s books. great story. fresh. sympathetic characters.
Mary Balogh never fails. She knows how to write a love story.
She is one of my favorite authors. This is the third and last of the series. Although it can be read as a stand alone, it is a richer experience to read the first two. I love this book for the heroine is not the most beautiful girl, but a shy and dowdy widow. And the hero is handsome rake who knows her through the war, as she is a soldier’s wife. Delightful and romantic!
Anything by Mary Balogh is worth the time and Irresistible is no exception thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love all Mary Balogh books as they are feel-good and romantic.
Love all of Mary Balogh’s books.
Everything that Mary Balogh writes is a winner. She has original characters who pique your interest from the first page and keep it throughout.
Love Mary Balogh. Never a bad book. Always wonderful!
