I only read two stories out of this anthology, Irresistible Valentine, and they were Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson and The Player by Jacquie Biggar. I was completely blown away by Ferguson’s short story! It was very emotional and dramatic and left you wanting a lot more than what you got! It was very fast paced as well, and super sweet. The Player was amazing as well! I loved the drama, and the chemistry, and I even laughed a little as well! Both of these stories were extremely well written, with some very dramatic occurrences that I wasn’t expecting at all from a romance anthology. I highly recommend this, both stories I read were absolutely incredible!
My two favorite stories are by Tamara Ferguson and Jacquie Biggar
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance: Tamara Ferguson
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson is one of my favorite stories in this anthology. Ferguson wrote about a teenage couple Eve and Harry. They became close friends and it grew into a loving relationship. Now they had to split ways because they had different careers. Do you remember your high school sweetheart? Can you think about parting ways only to find your way back to them? Will Eve and Harry be able to rekindle their story? This story has a roller coaster ride of emotions. Enjoy Eve and Harry and their special story.
The Player by Jacquie Biggar
This love story is about Roy and Patience. Roy is a NHL player and he had a stalker. Now he was not able to play because of them. There was PA Patience, who helped him with his PR. All Roy wants is to play hockey. There was something innocent about Patience that peaked Roy’s interest. Can there be romance in the PA Patience and NHL Roy? Will Roy allow himself to love Patience? This is a short story but it is well written and captured my attention throughout the whole story.
Irresistible Valentine is pages and pages and hours upon hours of goodness aka it is the third instalment in the Irresistible Romance anthology series and is filled with Valentine stories by nine amazing writers – Tamara Ferguson, Natalie Ann, Suzanne Jenkins, Cynthia Cooke, Alicia Street, Jacquie Bigger, Stacy Eaton, Susan Jean Ricci and Patrice Wilton. I love anthologies as they give you a sample of multiple writers so it is a great way of discovering new writers! This is how I had already found quite a few of the writers who contributed to this anthology.
I will share my review for Tamara Ferguson’s Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance – she is my absolute favorite writer out of all nine writers here! I think I have read every single story she has written and I have not encountered anything that I would not love! Two Hearts’’ Reconnaissance is part of her Two Hearts Wounded Warrior romance series and it is the 13th!!!!!! instalment! (can you just imagine all the goodness you have to look forward to if this is your first encounter with her!) As you can imagine from the title of the series then the stories have a very serious subject matter but I promise you, they are filled with hope and we always get our happy ending!
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance gives us Eva Loughlin and Harry Giordano who has survived a lot! (Have a box of tissues at hand! You will need it from the start!) There is this amazing connection between them since the moment they met when they were just kids! Life takes them into different directions and as it is with living, there are ups and downs and thorough it all we keep our fingers crossed for a chance for them to find a way back to each other! I also loved learning more about some of the characters that I have read about in the other stories.
There were three writers in the anthology that were new for me and it was Jacquie Biggar’s story the Player that took the cherry! I love sports stories (especially hockey ones) and Jacquie gives us Roy who gets sidelined from NHL thanks to his stalker ex so he ends up needing some little help from a PA Patience … so you can imagine the good laughs and antics and aww moments she mixed up for us and to be frank, I think the story would have deserved to be longer! I for sure will keep my eyes open for more by Jacquie!
Irresistible Valentine is a great anthology of 8 romantic stories from 9 different authors. I am not going to review all 8 stories but have chosen 2 to focus on. My review will be of Two Hearts Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson and The Player by Jacquie Biggar. Both are authors that I have read before and these were the 2 stories that I was most looking forward to reading.
Two Hearts Reconnaissance is set in Dragonfly Pointe, the location of many other novels by Tamara Ferguson and brings back some characters from other stories.
This was a heartbreaking story which explores child abuse and child trafficking. I was totally gripped to the story of Harry Giordano and Eve Loughlin both of whom have had terrible childhoods in various foster homes. Eve has now reconciled with her birth mother and Harry (and his foster sister Amy) have been taken in by Gabe and Lucy Giordano.
This story takes you from their first meeting at age 13 to them meeting again as adults and a lot in between. Although not a full length novel, Tamara Ferguson packs so much into this story.
The Player by Jacquie Biggar is set in the ice hockey world. Star player Roy is being hounded by a crazy ex-girlfriend who is spreading lies about him and it’s affecting his career. Enter PR woman Patience who is hired to improve his public persona.
This is a great story which will have you laughing at the antics of Roy and Patience. Roy does everything he can to annoy and rile Patience and she just falls into his trap everytime. Can she help fix his career or will the crazy ex get her way?
IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3) is an anthology of valentine romance stories by nine top authors Tamara Ferguson, Natalie Ann, Suzanne Jenkins, Cynthia Cooke, Alicia Street, Jacquie Biggar, Stacy Eaton, Susan Jean Ricci and Patrice Wilton. Each story is about unsuspecting couples that meet and fall in love some in the most unlikeliest circumstances.
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance: Tamara Ferguson, is a wonderful story where teenagers Eve and Harry meet at Crystal Rock and grow up together but when they follow their hearts passions, they end up losing each other. Will the magic continue in the place they met? Tamara never lets me down with her stories and this one is just as good as all the others.
Cupid’s Quest: Natalie Ann, is the tale of two damaged souls from their pasts that come together through a common goal. Ruby has walls around her heart and doesn’t let anyone in easily. Josh is looking for a home he can make for his family, now he just has to convince her that they can be together. This is a captivating story and one of my favourites in this anthology.
A Little Change of Plans: Suzanne Jenkins, is a great story where Geri is new to the fire station and is driven for a career and will not let anyone stand in her way. All it took is one look and Jake was in love, now he needs to prove it to her.
All Night Long: Cynthia Cooke, is fun and had me laughing as I read about these wonderful characters. Phoebe wants to make her own way as a wedding planner and Beau just wants to keep the bar and hotel in the valley and make it his own. If only he could convince her to stay. A great story to get lost in.
Never Lovers: Alicia Street, is an emotional tale of two people torn apart by a tragedy. Now after many years apart they are forced to share accomodation when wanting to get away from their day to day life. Will true love find its way back to them? A good read.
The Player: Jacquie Biggar, is the story of Roy who made a bad decision in the female department and now it is affecting his game when this stalker won’t leave him alone. Patience who is a PR person and is hired to make Roy look good after a crazy ex tries to get him back but destroying his game in the process. What neither of them expect is the lengths she will go to and what they find with each other. I really enjoyed this story and would have loved more.
Unexpected Packages: Stacy Eaton, Lexi is mortified when a package is delivered to the wrong address and is then brought to her. What was once total annoyance turns into something more than they ever thought possible. All the feel goods came out with this one. I would actually like to see more of this couple.
First Class Flirtation: Susan Jean Ricci, Melissa is looking forward to the extra room she booked on her flight but an altercation changes things and now she is stuck with a grumpy stranger. However these two unlikely people soon learn they cannot live without each other but they may not get their happy ever after when tragedy strikes.
Serendipity Falls: Patrice Wilton, There is something in the water at this unsuspecting town in the snow, Devon doesn’t believe it and he loves his life being a one and done kind of guy but when Tara comes to town he finds she has something he can’t seem to stay away from. Cupid does love love now if only he could find it too. This is a nice and easy enjoyable read.
IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3) Anthology
5-Stars
Irresistible Valentine Anthology was an excellent collection of stories. The were all organized and written well. I lived each one of them. They all had excellent plot and climax. There was significant backstory and the characters were developed well. The story that stuck out to me was by author Tamara Ferguson. Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance was heartbreaking and sweet. The start of the story had me in tears. I really enjoyed that story and felt it was my favorite out of the collection. I highly recommend this anthology.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the love story of two damaged people who find each other and fall in love.
Both Ruby Gentile and Josh Turner had difficult childhoods. Ruby’s mother was a drug addict who died when Ruby was very young. She spent the majority of her childhood in and out of foster care. Ruby is now an up-and-coming realtor.
When Josh was young, his parents were murdered during a home robbery. His grandparents raised him. He is now a police investigator who has just moved into town to be near his grandparents.
Josh meets Ruby when he calls her about one of her listings. They are instantly attracted to each other. Unfortunately Ruby’s commitment issues and her need to be independent make it very difficult. As they search together to find a home for him, Ruby and Josh slowly fall in love.
I love Ruby’s character. She is an independent woman who is determined to overcome her difficult childhood. Therefore, she spends most of her time working and spends the rest of her time alone.
Josh is the kind of man that most women love to be with. He is kind and understanding of Ruby’s issues. He is determined to give her the things she missed as a foster child.
As both Ruby and Josh try to overcome the effects of their difficult childhood, I became entirely absorbed into their lives. It is not easy for them, but the more time they spend together and the more difficulties they encounter, the more captivated I became by these two people who are so obviously soul mates.
Irresistible Valentine filled with five-star reads. I love Anthology’s like these as they bring so many great authors together, so you can read old favourites and then find new authors as well. Each story will show you something to make you smile, each one brings something special to the collection. My favourite’s are Tamara Ferguson with Two Hearts Reconnaissance and I adore this one as even though its teenagers, I remember what that was like, she shows us expertly how you fear life will end if you don’t see the other part of your soul immediately. Alicia Street with Never Lovers, a great story with a fabulous twist that will keep you on your toes and then finally Jacquie Bigger who brings us The Player and this one, well this one had that extra special sauce to it and just had a little extra sparkle as it involves a player in more ways than one. If you are in the mood for some great reads then pick this collection up.

IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3) this anthology has books by Tamara Ferguson, Natalie Ann, Suzanne Jenkins, Cynthia Cooke, Alicia Street, Jacquie Biggar, Stacy Eaton, Susan Jean Ricci and Patrice Wilton. However I’m only going to talk about two books.
The first is Two Hearts Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson and it the thirteenth book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series. I have had the pleasure of reading several of the books in this series and have enjoyed each of them.
This particular story was one that had some difficult moments but I really enjoyed it. Harry and Eve meet at the tender age of thirteen and had so much in common, unfortunately it wasn’t all good. They thankfully didn’t allow it to define them.
I wanted more of Harry and Eve. Think the story could have been a little longer and more detailed regarding in the years bridging teenagers to adults. I will keep up with this series to see if I see them again.
The second book is The Player by Jacquie Biggar. This book is the beginning of the Men of WarHawk series. I seem to be on a hockey kick when it comes to books lately since this is the third I’ve read recently. Which is funny because I’m not a hockey fan, but I have seen some of the players and really think I need to give it a try again.
Here we meet Roy and Patience. He’s a hockey player with a crazy stalker and she’s the personal assistant assigned to fix his reputation with the press.
I ended really liking this story, but it took me a little bit to warm up to Roy, though I liked Patience immediately. As I got further into the book I learned a little more about Roy and why he is the way he is. He has dealt with some pretty rough times in his life.
Patience was easy to like. She had a pretty ideal childhood with both parents and three older brothers around. Well, I’m sure having that many older brothers wasn’t ideal.
I enjoyed this story and already have book two of this series in my TBR list.
