“Sexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”—Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling authorI’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white … the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)
Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

I’ll admit I have a slight addiction to this man. I coined the hashtag #MACKISMINE back when Only Love was being released. I can’t help it. I’m a sucker for a sexy, sweet, single dad.
Mack and Frannie are that cute love story you can’t put down. You want them to work and you want it to happen now!
But as a single parent, sometimes you have to take things slow. You have more than just yourself to consider and jumping into a relationship of any kind may not be the best idea.
Frannie though. She’s just the sweetest, most patient person ever. She’s kind and caring and absolutely perfect for Mack.
I love this as a series opener. Yes, it’s a bit of a spin-off as we met Mack in the last series, but it is still very much a book one. You’ll meet characters you’ll want to know more about. You’ll get a little visit from some old favorites (at least they were my favorites) that’ll make you smile.
You’re gonna love this book. Some could even call it…Irresistible.

You are going to love this story!!!! Melanie has a talent for making her characters so real and natural. Our heroine Frannie is 27, works on her family farm as a receptionist and baker. She had suffered from a heart defect from birth and was over protected by her parents, living a very sheltered life. All she wants is to have a normal life like her sisters. Mack, our hero is a 37 year old ex-marine who has become a single father, learning as he goes. He also works at Cloverleigh Farms as the CFO with Frannie’s dad as his boss. This makes Frannie – off limits!!! They fight off their attractions for each other until on night when Frannie is babysitting for Mack and a snowstorm hits leaving them stranded at his home. Sparks fly and I’ll let you read and enjoy. How will they work things out. Mack has a hard time believing that anyone would want him with 3 daughters. His ex-wife really messed with his head. Mack’s daughter’s are honestly the cutest! I loved their bantering, their special times with their father and off course, their sassyness! This story really covered all the feels for me and I honestly hated to see it end! Irresistible will warm your heart!!
Hot single dad! I love the small town, friends-to-lovers trope and always anything written by Meanie!
I absolutely loved this start to Melanie Harlow’s new series! Frannie is the youngest of five sisters. At 27 she has alwys been sheltered by her parents because of medical problems in her youth. She is ready to live her own life, both in business and love. Mack is an ex-marine, divorced with custody of his three young daughters. When they realize their attraction for each other, sparks fly, and love blooms, but Mack doesn’t think he can handle love and family.
This book made me laugh, and cry. The relationships between Mack and his daughters, Frannie and the girls, and Mack and Frannie, were heartfelt and hilarious. Melanie’s writing hooked me in from the very first page, and kept me turning those pages until the end…and left me wishing for more.
I can’t wait for the next installment in this new series!
5 star Review Irresistible (Cloverleigh Farms #1) by Melanie Harlow
I have found myself reading more and more single parent books over the last 12 months and in my opinion Irresistible by Melanie Harlow is a great example of the genre.
Where do I start with Irresistible? I guess the first thing is to say that I was totally riveted from the first to the last chapter. Melanie Harlow has a great writing style which I thoroughly enjoy.
I found myself drawn in and totally invested in Mack and Frannie Sawyer’s story and I so wanted these two to get the happily ever after that they both deserved.
I absolutely adored the relationship that Mack has with his daughters, it was truly heart warming not to mention the relationship that Frannie built with them was beautiful.
Irresistible is a wonderfully written story of love and romance. Mack knows that he should stay away from Frannie for her own good. After all he is older and she is his children’s part time nanny, that alone should mean she is off limits. However the attraction and chemistry between Mack and Frannie sizzles and is impossible to ignore.
This book gave me all the feels. It was sweet, spicy, funny and romantic. It tugged at the heart strings so much and all in all was a tremendous read that left me with such a smile on my face that I was disappointed when it ended.
Melanie Harlow’s characters came to life and were so easy to relate to that it made reading Irresistible a true joy.
A sexy single-dad older man? Yes. Please. Melanie Harlow does small-town romance so beautifully it’s pure magic.
Absolutely adorable!!! Irresistible is a sweet single father romance that had me so greedy!!
Mack a sexy former marine, single father of three adorable little girls and the CFO at Cloverleigh Inn. Frannie also works at the inn for her parents, with big dreams of someday having her own macron shop. She’s got a major crush on Mack, and while nannying for him, as she did from time to time she made her feeling known! * fans self*
I completely fell in love with this story for so many reason but my number one is that it’s just so real. The struggles of being a single father and the banter with his girls completely stole my heart!!
What a FEEL GOOD romance – you know that’s exactly what you’re getting with Melanie! It’s sweet, funny, sexy, emotional and a small town romance that makes you feel all the feels!! You’re going to love it!
Half way through this book… fifty percent in.. I was pretty sure I was going to end up pregnant.
Yes, the book is this hot.
Yes, THIS book is THAT good.
Mack and Frannie are simply Irresistible.
From the moment Mack was introduced in Only Love , I was already enamored with him, his story. Former Marine, single dad of three girls, and the world on his shoulders? Sign. Me. Up. Cue the nanny that has been crushing on him for some time? Yes, things are about to get really hot in the middle of winter. Especially when Mack dirty talks his way to Frannie’s heart.
Putting the heat factor aside for a moment, I loved the contrast of these two characters. Frannie has been protected for most of her life, is ready to take on a new challenge. She’s ready to risk her heart. Whereas Mack, fears taking a chance. His concerns as a father, a single parent, are valid. You can really identify yourself with what he is feeling. His vulnerability is what I loved the most.
Now, let me tell you something about Melanie Harlow books, if you never read one. Her characters tear your heart apart while disintegrating your favorite panties. The best part about that? She is not the least bit sorry about that. (Thank you!!) Books where the passion starts early are hands down my favorite. Which means… I highly recommend you read this book!
Mack is a just divorce single father to thtee girls. Frannie is his occasional nanny and daughter to his boss. During the many times she has babysitted his girls something between them started happening. Something neither of them expected. As good as things are Mack doesnt think Frannie should be put into his mess of a life. Besides he has his girls to think about. Frannie is on her own journey for independence but doesnt mind taking time for him and his girls. Mack and Frannie must come to a decision on what matters most and what makes them happy. This story is a great blend of hot and sweet.
Here’s what you can expect every time you pick up a Melanie Harlow book:
1. Likeable heroines that you wouldn’t mind grabbing a drink with after work
2. Sexy, foul-mouthed heroes who sometimes do stupid things for all the right reasons
3. Sexy scenes that can only be described as OH-HOLY-HELL-THAT-IS-HOT
The perfect combination of emotional feels and snort laughs
So, yeah…Irresistible was exactly what I expected…in the best possible way.
Frannie was a sweet, giving heroine, but that didn’t make her a doormat. She understood her worth and didn’t hesitate to go after what she wanted and deserved. She’s totally relatable–the kind of person you’d want to hang out with on ladies night.
Mack is just a giant ball of sexy, messed up, overwhelmed single dad. I really felt for him. His relationship with his little girls tugged at my heartstrings. (And not much tugs at my heartstrings, people. I’m pretty much cold and dead inside.) Did he do some stupid stuff that made me want to reach through my Kindle and smack the crap out of him? Sure. But I forgave him because his motives were pure. He just wanted to do what was best for his kids. (And towards the end of the book, I don’t think I’m giving away too much when I say that he is a GREAT groveler. He did some grade-A groveling to work his way back into Frannie’s good graces. I LOVED it.)
And maybe this is just me, but I’m really sick of little kids in romance novels that don’t act like little kids. There’s WAY too many four-year-olds in romance who dispense sage love advice and exist as nothing more than plot pawns. But the kids in THIS story acted like real kids and were actually an integral part of the story. I hope they all get their own stories one day when they’re all grown up.
(And on a totally shallow note, I’m completely IN LOVE with this cover! So pretty!!)
All that said, I’m not sure why you’re still reading this review. Go 1-click the crap out of this one!!
Full disclosure, we received an ARC from the author, free of charge.

Ummmmm…sexy single father and a younger nanny? Yes please! Small town romance AND friends to lovers? Also yes please!
Irresistible is the first book in the Cloverleigh Farm series by one of my faves, Melanie Harlow. If you read Only Love then you might remember Ryan’s best friend and boss, Mack McAllister. The newly single dad and ex-marine. Well, this is his story and it’s a hot one.
Mack is a single dad to three girls and the CFO of Cloverleigh Farms. Frannie is the boss’s daughter and Mack’s part-time nanny, and lover of baking treats. He wants something for himself. She wanted to take a risk.
Frannie has a hopeless crush on Mack. He has never once looked at her like anything else but a kid. A kid who could babysit for his adorable daughters. Then something changed. She felt it. That look. The one that made her feel beautiful, sexy, and desired. And then it happened. He kissed her. Except it was more than a kiss. It was everything but what was it to him?
Mack knew it was forbidden. She was ten years younger. The boss’s daughter. His nanny. She deserved better than him. A man who couldn’t give her what she wanted. A husband. A child of her own. His time was wrapped up in working, laundry duty, grocery shopping, and not fucking up his daughters’ lives. But, he wanted something for himself. Someone. He knew it sounded selfish but he wanted Frannie Sawyer. A woman who was sweet, sexy, and loved his kids. But, he had nothing to give. It was hopeless, right?
Aww! I loved this one! The writing is fantastic. The characters are lovable and real. Mack’s foul mouth made me fall even harder. I have that foul mouth. I understand it. He is such an amazing dad even where thinks he fucking up. And Frannie. She is one of a kind. I want to bake with her. I was rallying for her to take a risk. Big ones. I can’t forget about the girls. Omg!!! They are adorable, funny, sweet, and know how to push each other’s buttons. Sisters. They know how to do it. Perfectly.
Overall…it’s an amazing start to a new series! It was fun, sexy, sweet, and damn hot. I can’t wait to find out who is starring in the next book!
Quotes:
You are tempting me …
If only! God, what I wouldn’t give to be the kind of woman who could really tempt him.
“Do you know how much snow we’re going to get tonight?” she asked.
“I heard eight to ten inches.”
I’d like to give you eight to ten inches tonight, I thought.
“I saw Daddy’s hairy belly.”
“Ewww!” the older two chorused.
“Hey,” I said, grabbing Winnie and throwing her across my lap. “I do not have a hairy belly.”
“Yes, you do,” squealed Felicity.
“And some on your chest!”
“Hey, listen. Where I come from, a man should have some hair on his chest. And I’m a man.”
I’ve got new best friends!
Felicity, Millie and Winnie are my absolute besties. I’m going to braid their hair, make them Yorkshire puddings and watch The Wizard of Oz with them. I’m going to check under their beds for monsters and kiss Ned the Hammerhead from Shedd and it will be perfect.
I’m also quite partial to their dad. Mack the single dad is quite splendid. Frannie, baker of macarons, part time nanny, part time receptionist is equally lovely.
Fab fab fab fab characters that I fell in love with. They are pure Harlow gold.
The warmth of her books makes me grin and my tummy flutter. I adore the little cross overs from previous series with little cameo appearances – Miles Haas you gorgeous hunk of a man, I still love you.
A sweet, adorable and sexy read. I loved it.
3.5 Stars
Irresistible is book 1 in the new Cloverleigh Farms series and another sweet read from Melanie Harlow.
Mack is a single dad, doing his best just to get through each day without screwing up his 3 young daughters lives. Between work, getting his kids to and from school, multiple activities, and putting food on the table, he has zero time for himself let alone a new relationship. So of course when he does finally start having feelings for someone, it’s the last person he should ever have romantic feelings for.
Frannie is the baby of the family, still living at home and working at her family’s inn. She has spent her entire life pleasing her parents, never saying no and putting her dreams on the back burner. But when an opportunity presents itself she decides to finally go after what she wants, including the man she’s had a hopeless crush on forever.
I’m a sucker for single dad stories, as well as anything Melanie Harlow writes. While I enjoyed this story, I, unfortunately, can’t say I loved it. It was a very sweet read, with a great plotline and characters, but I just couldn’t get into it as much as I would have liked. I loved Mack’s girls, and the cameos Melanie always throws in of her older characters, tying her books together as one big family.
Irresistible is another Melanie Harlow hit! I loved every page and didn’t want it to end. I enjoyed every moment of Mack and Frannie’s relationship journey.
It’s always hard being single when kids are involved but when you have a spark with your nanny who is also your bosses daughter it’s even harder.
Frannie is the baby of her family and though she’s a grown woman, everyone still sees her as a kid. Her mother still dictates her every move. She can’t see Frannie as a healthy woman, she still sees her as her child who had health issues as a baby and will not let her spread her wings. She still lives and works on the family farm. Her sister all went away to college but Frannie stayed home. While some of her sisters work for the family business, it was their choice to come back. And she has a serious crush on older, dirty mouthed Declan “Mac” MacAllister who she nanny’s for.
Mack’s life has been difficult since he found out he was going to be a father at a young age. He took his responsibility seriously and did the right thing by marrying the mother of his child…or did he? He enlisted in the marines and went off to serve his country. Several years, 3 tours, 3 daughters and a bitter resentful ex-wife later….he’s divorced and a struggling single dirty mouthed dad with sole custody of his girls. And he has a serious attraction to Frannie Sawyer. Frannie who watches his daughters 2 days a week and is a great cook. Frannie who is a lot younger than him. Frannie who’s family owns Cloverleigh Farms where he works and is his bosses daughter. Yes he’s lost his mind!
Fatherhood of three young girls has Mack running on empty but he would not change it for the world. The last thing he ever thought was that his bosses daughter and his part time nanny would have the same attraction for him as he has for her. But one snowy night later and sparks between them are flying. But can Mack fall in love with the nanny? What about his job when the love affair is made known? With beautifully written characters and a plot so filled with emotion and love that you cannot put it down, Melanie Harlow has started another wonderful series. I cannot wait to see what happens next on Cloverleigh Farms.
Working alongside Mack everyday is pure torture for Frannie, he is gorgeous, kindhearted, and puts the butterflies in her belly on overdrive with just one of his smiles. He is also a single dad to three amazing little girls that she adores, and loves spending time with any time he needs a little extra help. She would love nothing more than to become a permanent fixture in their lives, but she is quite certain that Mack doesn’t look at her as anything more than a co-worker and friend. Which is a tough pill to swallow…
But then one unexpected and blissful little kiss happens and it spawns some serious steam to be shared between them and it turns both their worlds upside down…and causes Mack to panic a little. Mack’s heart is telling him to go for it, and his head is reigning him and telling him not to make promises he can’t keep, so he pushes her away. And hurts both of them in the process… but love knows no bounds!
Irresistible is a beautifully crafted tale loaded with feels to squeeze your heart and scorching heat to curl your toes. As soon as you meet these wonderful characters you will fall head over heels for them. Each of them brings something special to the pages, and each comes with a real feel quality that makes establishing a connection effortless. I loved watching their story unfold, and see them maneuver through this new chapter in their lives, they had me smiling and swooning the throughout the journey. I was excited to see that this is going to be a series, because I met a few folks I am dying to reunite with and learn more about in upcoming installments. If you enjoy small town romance stories, rich with family drama, emotion, and touches of humor then I highly suggest you make a visit to Cloverleigh Farms, you will love what you find waiting there for you!
I requested an advanced copy of this title, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I just can’t find the words to express how much I loved this book! The writing, characters and imagery were so on point. I’m just not sure how she can keep getting better with every story she tells. I’d give it all the stars in the sky if I could <3 Loved it!
Irresistible defines these characters. Frannie is lovable from the start as the sexy, beautiful, funny, receptionist at her parents Inn and is a part time nanny for the CFO who incidentally she has a crush on. Mack is the sexy, handsome, divorced, CFO and a father of three who feels completely inadequate as a father and out of control. Mack thinks Frannie is attractive and is drawn to her but feels she is two young and deserves more than what he can offer and she is the bosses daughter on top of it all. Due to an unfortunate accident in which Mack’s full time Nanny breaks her leg, Frannie is asked to pinch hit and takes care of the girls, a huge snow storm, a car that won’t start forces Frannie and Mack into a situation where Frannie spends the night. Melanie has written such a believable tale with twists and turns that test Mack and Frannie as they try to navigate, cruses, trust, family, business, relationships, and love. Mack and Frannie pull every heart string as they navigate life. A five plus star read one you’ll want to visit again.
