“Sexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”—Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling authorI’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white … the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)
Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

Irresistible is the first book in a new series by Melanie Harlow. I absolutely adored it. Mack is doing his best as a single dad to three little girls. He also works at Cloverleigh Farms, which is where he meets Frannie. Frannie is the youngest daughter of the Sawyers, who own Cloverleigh Frams. She has a huge crush on Mack, but he thinks she’s too sweet and young. I devoured this book as fast as I could. I loved the chemistry of the two main characters and I adored the little girls. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a well written romance with a little bit of angst.

This is the first of a new series featuring a single dad and a nanny; a quick and fun read that isn’t loaded with angst, more light-hearted with lots of lovable characters.
Frannie Sawyer works at Cloverleigh Farms, a successful family-owned business. She is the youngest daughter but at the age of twenty-seven and still living with her parents, she’s starting to feel smothered. She is also a part-time nanny to Mack’s three young daughters and harboured a secret crush on Mack for ages although he seems to think she’s too young for him. Given that he’s ten years older and with a lot of baggage, her unrequited love seems doomed.
Declan MacAllister aka Mack is a recently divorced father of three girls. A former marine and now the Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager of Cloverleigh Farms, his hands are full single-handedly raising Millie, Felicity and Winifred. With the help of two nannies, one of them Frannie, he just about manages to get his job done and take care of his girls, too. He doesn’t have time for any relationships either. Even though he is very much interested in Frannie, he feels that she deserves someone better than him.
Mack and Frannie’s romance is full of easy and funny banter, dirty talk and sexy romps. Told in dual points of view, a single dad hooking up with the nanny sounds cliché but fear not, this book has more depth. As a father who is trying very hard to take care of his daughters, Mack is an exceptional dad but as a boyfriend, I felt he needed room for improvement. No wonder the poor bloke is overloaded with emotional baggage when his ex-wife dumped him and put all the blame on him for the failure of their marriage.
All throughout the book, I felt that Frannie was more emotionally invested whilst Mack only enjoyed their stealthy hook-ups and basically told her he’s not the one for her. For me, one of the highlights of this book is the girls’ relationship with their dad, how they coped with their mother’s abandonment and how they supported each other. It certainly makes for a very pleasant read. The hero and heroine’s love story takes a back seat for the girls’ smart talk, backchat and their adorable snarky attitude. Some characters from the author’s other books make cameo appearances which chuffed me to bits. I enjoyed reading Mack and Frannie’s love story and I am looking forward to reading the stories of Frannie’s older sisters: Chloe, April and Sylvia.
Irresistible is book 1 in the new series Cloverleigh Farms by the talented author Melanie Harlow. If you love a hot single dad romance, this one I highly recommend. The story of Declan McAllister & Frannie Sawyer was so sweet, charming and very well written. Melanie Harlow never disappoints!! Mack is a full time single dad to 11 year old Millie, 8 year old Felicity and 4 year old Winifred plus works as the CFO of Fannie’s father company, the Cloverleigh Farms. Frannie at 27, she’s the youngest of five sisters and has been protected by her family due to a scary heath condition when she was younger. Frannie works as a receptionist at the farm and as the nanny of 3 amusing and charming beautiful girls. The plot is simply a good old fashioned romance with a happy ending. Can’t wait to see what this amazing author has in store for the other Sawyer sisters.
This is Book 1 in the “Cloverleigh Farms” Series and I loved it since the very first page! Great story! Amazing characters!
This is Frannie and Mack’s story.
Mack works for Frannie’s family. He is divorced and in charge of his three kids. Life is hard and he feels incapable of loving anyone, much less, Frannie, much younger than him, single, sweet…
Frannie has had a crush with Mack for a long time…then one night the chemistry explodes between them but the following morning everything is just the same. Reality will be stronger than feelings?
I loved the story and the way the author writes it. Mack’s children are adorable!!!
I highly recommend this book.

~~ 4.5 WONDROUS STARS! ~~
There’s nothing more IRRESISTIBLE than a swoony single dad tale with all the feels! And holy wow did Melanie Harlow make my HEART MELT with Mack and Frannie’s story, the first fantastic installment in her Cloverleigh Farms series.
THE PREMISE:
Declan “Mack” McCallister, a divorced former Marine, has his hands full as CFO of Cloverleigh Farms and as a full-time single father but thankfully the stressed-out dad has a part-time nanny to help him wrangle his three adorable girls. The beautiful and vivacious Frannie Sawyer, whose family owns the farm, is a true life-saver. She miraculously helps restore order to his crazy, chaotic home and his daughters Millie, Felicity and Winifred all adore her. The perfect arrangement right? WRONG! For complications arise when he finds it impossible to stop fantasizing about Frannie who not only happens to be a decade younger than him but is also his boss’s daughter!
YIKES!
Mack and Frannie are in different stages of their lives, and though Frannie has a hopeless crush on him, as far as this gruff single dad is concerned, she’s totally off limits. But she sure is hard to resist!! She’s pretty and caring, sultry and sweet, an expert cook (yum!), and lavishes his daughters with the kind of maternal love and attention they have been sorely lacking since their mom deserted them. And when he and Frannie find themselves trapped together during a snowstorm, their fiery attraction reaches a fever pitch! Afterwards grim reality sets in, and as earth shattering as the sex was, Mack knows he has nothing to offer her and would like to chalk this up to a one-time thing. But a love-smitten Frannie does not want to let this incredible man walk away! And with his three little girls constantly throwing them together, he just might be fighting a losing battle. Can this part-time arrangement turn into forever love?
MY MUSINGS:
From start to finish, IRRESISTIBLE left me all aglow! A winsome concoction of achingly sweet, swooningly romantic and heartwarming with a hefty dash of sizzling hot thrown in, it reminded me yet again why Melanie Harlow is a top fave author for me! Her engaging, vibrant narrative flows so beautifully, her storylines always resonate, and she has this innate ability to pen a sensually charged, captivating romance that’s relatively light on the angst but has a SURPLUS OF FEELS. The sum total of which has me BEAMING from ear to ear!
I connected immediately with the characters of Mack and Frannie. They are so dynamic, multi-faceted and endearing, their chemistry is combustible, and they just have this MAGICAL connection that makes you weak in the knees, your tummy flip over, and your heart skip a beat. Plus, this story has two of my absolute favorite tropes—single dad/age gap—and seriously is there anything sexier than a strong, ruggedly handsome, loving father who finds a new lease on life with a beautiful, bubby, younger nanny? I THINK NOT!
And although this book is not the kind that’s gonna leave your heart in shambles, it does still pack an emotional punch and the journey that these characters embark on is incredibly touching. For starters, Frannie is just so sweet and genuine, with a HEART OF PURE GOLD, and I just adored her! As the youngest of the five Sawyer sisters, she has had a challenging upbringing due to a congenital heart defect which caused her overprotective mother to coddle and stifle her to the point that she missed out on so much LIVING. She no longer wants to be wrapped up in a protective bubble and is determined to pursue her dreams and finally live life to the fullest!.
And like always, MH’s heroes are big, broad shouldered, SEXY AF and often stubborn to a fault! As a jaded divorced dad, Mack is not exactly looking for love and does not want a sweet, vivacious girl like Frannie to get sucked into his train wreck of a life, especially since she has HER whole life ahead of her and has just begun to spread her wings. But there’s something about Frannie that not only centers him and makes his girls feel wanted and loved, but spreads light and joy into his world and makes him FEEL again. For the first time in forever, he feels like a hot blooded, virile man again—and not just a Daddy.
But holy moly…he bears the weight of the world on his shoulders, and given the fact that Frannie is the boss’s daughter makes her EVEN MORE out of reach. Mack knows that becoming romantically entangled with her could lead to complete and utter chaos. However, being with Mack and his girls is hardly a burden to Frannie. On the contrary, she feels freer—and less lonely with them than she’s ever felt in her life. She is head over heels in love with Mack, and just needs to convince the mood broody man of her dreams to take a leap of faith—-with her!
Ms. Harlow did a wonderful job building and sustaining believable conflict throughout, and the sexual tension is PALPABLE, chock full of smoldering sparks. And when these two hit the sheets…yowza…FIREWORKS GALORE! I loved seeing this laid back, uber responsible single dad transform into a take-charge, FILTHY-TALKING alpha in the bedroom, and the erotic trysts were the perfect blend of rough and torrid, fun and naughty, with a wonderful undercurrent of breathtaking tenderness!
As for the side characters? Amazeballs! The Sawyer clan were woven well into the story, which sets the stage for future books, and the Natalie/Miles cameos (from SOME SORT OF CRAZY) were such a hoot!! But no big surprise—Millie, Felicity and Winifred TOTALLY STOLE THE SHOW! Gah, Mack’s princesses were too cute for words, providing oodles of comic relief and a plethora of heart tugging moments and warm fuzzy feels. I absolutely loved their interactions with Frannie, and my ovaries exploded big-time during their exchanges with their devoted daddy. And hee hee the swear jar was THE BEST!
Ultimately, together Frannie and Mack and his girls are a match made in heaven. And despite some bumps in the road the story culminates in a fairytale HEA that had me blinking back tears and swooning in delight!
BOTTOM LINE:
IRRESISTIBLE was impossible to resist! This delightfully charming page turner just hit my sweet spot on EVERY LEVEL, and I cannot wait for book two!
I am always surprised that I enjoy Melanie Harlow’s books. I’m not sure why, though- her stories are captivating, characters are thought out, and the writing is strong. Irresistible was no exception to that.
Mack is a single father to three young girls. He has an ex that is rarely around, a job that is demanding, and daughters that need his attention. He doesn’t have time for himself. Frannie works with Mack at Cloverleigh, and helps him with his girls a couple of days a week. Mack knows that it isn’t smart to get involved with Frannie, and he has nothing to offer her, but he’s attracted to her, and she has had a crush on him forever.
I really liked Mack’s character- he was real, trying to balance everything on his plate, and not stretch himself too thin. Frannie just wants to help, and she wants to find her place in the world.
Irresistible was well-written and I loved the characters. I did wish that we got some insight into how things went down with Frannie’s parents (Mack’s too) when they went forward with their relationship. But, I look forward to getting stories about Frannie’s sisters soon!
4.5 stars for – Irresistible – book one in the Cloverleigh Farms series by Melanie Harlow. This is a single dad falling for the nanny romance with all the feels in the way only Ms. Harlow can deliver. With the possibility of a few more of the Sawyer sisters finding their happiness too I can’t wait to see where the Cloverleigh series takes us next.
Frannie Sawyer has lived a sheltered life and never got to branch out on her own. She has stayed on the farm and worked at her family’s business all her life because it was expected of her. Since Frannie never rocked the boat she always chose to keep the feelings she had for Mac to herself until the time came where that was no longer possible. Finding out that Mac wanted her in all the same ways she craved him changed everything.
Declan MacAllister is the CFO of Cloverleigh Farms and a divorced, single parent to three beautiful little girls. Mac fully admits while he loves his girls something fierce he curses a lot and can’t cook worth a darn. His girls come first but Frannie Sawyer has gotten under his skin like nothing he’s ever felt before. He doesn’t think he can keep her but she is determined to make him at least try.
Irresistible is a captivating new stand-alone story in the Cloverleigh Farms Series by Melanie Harlow. The Cloverleigh Farms Series picks right up where book 3 of the One and Only Series left off, and I was so excited to see Mack get his own story. I love his character and his no non-sense attitude in Only Love, and I was intrigued to know how he had come to be a single father of three young girls.
Melanie’s writing is always so unique in that you find yourself often cheering on the broken male leads as much as their female counterparts. I always appreciate the way she builds a backstory and history throughout her works, and that her characters from previous novels come back to visit throughout. Miles (from Some Sort of Crazy) was my fave guest appearance in this one!
The main character, Mack, is a military veteran and broken father of three young girls whose wife left him with sole custody. To say he is ill-prepared is an understatement, but he is managing as best he can. The story begins with him attempting to care for his babies and get them from points A to B without losing his sanity. The calamities that result are both hilarious and endearing.
Enter Frannie, the daughter of his boss at the farm, who helps him caring for the children while he works. Frannie is 10 years younger than Mack, though almost 30, and trying to break free from the sheltered life that her parents have created for her.
The two have been attracted to each other for some time but are convinced that the other doesn’t feel the same. Mack assuming that Frannie would never want someone as damaged as him who can’t fulfill her dreams of marriage and a family, as he is unwilling to consider either again. Frannie assuming Mack finds her too young and isn’t interested. A drastic change in the weather provides an unexpected opportunity for the two to finally act on the attraction they have been fighting for so long.
Melanie Harlow is always successful at writing true to life character’s with real flaws and fears and weaving a story that endears them to you. Mack and Frannie’s story was beautiful and I loved watching these characters develop. As a reader, I always appreciate how Melanie wraps her tales in such a way that satisfies my curiosity about what happens next for the characters.
I loved this story and I would highly recommend it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
A Review of Irresistible by Melanie Harlow
Mack and Frannie – 5+++ Stars
Oh how I LOVED this story! If you have read any of the other recent books by Ms. Harlow, you will recognize Mack and his three adorable girls. The four of them have had a hard time of it for the last year or so, since the girls’ mom left the family. And Frannie! Her story is astounding and the chemistry between her and Mack is off the charts. You definitely want to pick this one up as soon as you can!

Not only is the cover of this book simply breathtaking, the romance behind it completely stole my heart! , a standalone in Melanie Harlow’s ℎ series, brings us swoony single dad, Mack, and the sweet and caring Frannie Sawyer. The beautiful chemistry and connection are there, but so are the fear, doubts, and uncertainties. Mack struggles with his feelings regarding Frannie’s younger age and the fact that she is the boss’ daughter…not to mention he’s hanging on a thread when it comes to his three daughters – Millie, Felicity, and Winifred. All Frannie wants to do is get out from under the constant coddling and live her life the way she wants to…and she wants to do that in the arms of Declan “Mack” McAllister. She loves his girls and they love her, but she’s finding it harder and harder to break down the wall that he keeps building every single day.
I absolutely ADORED this wonderous romance! The characters, the scenery, the scorching hot chemistry…I couldn’t get enough! This is pure romance at its best and I’m not surprised at all that Melanie Harlow is the magician behind the words. I’m so damn excited because this is just the beginning and there are more happily ever afters to come! I’m counting down the days until I get to make the beautiful escape to Cloverleigh Farms once again.

Irresistible is the best single dad, nanny romance of 2019! I loved Frannie and her imperfections. She was sassy and loved those around her deeply. I enjoyed how she never lost herself when it came to love. She acted on her feelings and never let Mack off easy. The girls are adorable. The author hit the nail on the head with their characters. Mack is a single father just trying to keep his little ones at the top of life. They come first and he will do anything for him. Frannie makes him feel things he wants and needs. She surprises him with the way she has stolen his heart, but he doesn’t know if he’s worthy to have and take care of hers. This story left me a gooey mess. I loved all the sweetness and flirtiness. There’s plenty of dirty talking and sexiness that equals out the hope and love in this story.
I do love me a romance that has a single parent in it who keeps it real. Mack isn’t a perfect father; he has his struggles but he does his best to be what his girls need. He puts them first, so I totally understand where he was coming from when it came to his waffling on pursuing something more with Frannie. Could he have handled things better? Yep, but again, the guy is only human and he was bound to flub things up more than once. His daughters—Millie (11), Felicity (8), and Winifred (4)—were scene-stealers, and proved once again that children notice more than you think they do.
Frannie was one special woman. I loved seeing her come into her own and find a place for herself in a world that seemed to have seen her as someone who constantly needed coddling. She held her own and she refused to be treated like a helpless child or someone who didn’t know her own mind and heart. Her evolving relationships with her parents and sisters—at least the sisters who were featured in this series starter—had elements that I could relate to. Frannie loved her family and Mack and his girls, but she never forgot to love herself, too, and that was a big reason why I so adored this book. Melanie Harlow’s got herself a winner with Irresistible, which gets five stars.
rresistible by Melanie Harlow is book 1 in her new Cloverleigh Farms series and I loved it. Mack & Frannie’s story grabbed me from the start and didn’t let go. I’m a sucker for a single dad romance and Irresistible did not disappoint. Ms.Harlow gave us a story that deals with real life issues a single dad goes through with his daughters while trying to navigate a new romantic relationship.
Irresistible was fun, sweet & sexy. Mack’s daughters were adorable and really added to making this such a great book. I just loved the epilogue and the bonus epilogue was perfect! I can’t wait for the remaining books in this series!
This was a sweet read about a single dad, Declan “Mack” MacAllister with three adorable daughters and CFO of Cloverleigh Farms. With his daughters having different personalities that will keep you on your toes and filled with an active calendar; finding love is the last thing on his list.
Frannie Sawyer is a godsend for Mack. She is always there for him in helping out with his kids and doing random little things he is not used too. He had a thing for her for she time; however, she is his boss’s daughter and to top it off they have an age gap that have heads turning.
What do you do when the idea of love has been thrown out the window let alone with someone way younger than expected? Their wants for the future is different and a challenge. One have experiences so much more in life where the other is starting out and have been living a restricted life. Will pursuing for more worth the risk?
This read is filled with cute moments with his daughters, the relationship between Mack and Frannie will have you feeling giddy, and the hope for more is constantly present. This was a great start to the series and looking forward to more.
You know those books that keep you up late at night, making it impossible to go to bed because you just have to read one more chapter and then it’s 3 am and you did to just forgive sleep to finish the book?
Well Irresistible took it to another level. After fighting to set it down and go to bed (adult life sucks) I found myself waking in the middle of the night and picking it back up. I literally could not sleep without finding out how Frannie and Mack ended up! Good Lord Almighty, I’ve read quite a few novels by this author but this, this one, is my Favorite! A reasonable age gap, realistic road blocks, so freaking hot and full of the angst I keep coming back for! You can’t go wrong with this one, with the exception of the book hangover you will suffer.
It’s been days and I can’t even think of picking up another book….but soooo worth it! 5 out of 5 stars no doubt!
-Mackenzie
And the award for my favourite couple goes to Frannie & Mack.
Melanie Harlow keeps pumping amazing book after amazing book!
Single dad, overworked , Usmc veteran Mack starts to see His reliable co-worker, always their His girls, Frannie from a different point of view.
Frannie has been in love with Mack for a while now. With a 10 year age difference Frannie must do everything in Her power to make Mack seen Her as a woman and not a child.
My heart absolutely broke for Frannie and Mack. I highly suggest you keep a box of Kleenex close by.
My heart rejoices when both parties finally came to their senses!
There is nothing I love more then a happy ending and Melanie delivers an amazing one.
Mack is a foul mouth, sexy, single dad of three of the most adorable little girls. And he’s madly in love with his too young nanny/co-worker/boss’s daughter.
Did I mention he’s sexy?
Frannie is the youngest daughter of four and with life threatening health concerns as a child she’s been babied her whole life. And at 27 she’s ready for everyone to see her as an adult – including the father of the three girls he nannies for. Especially for him to see her as an adult.
When these two finally give into their lust – can you says smoking hot!!! But Mack the ever amazing dad isn’t ready for his daughters to think he’s moving on and leaving them behind. As Mack struggles to find balance with his job, children, and Frannie the plates he’s balancing begin to fall.
The MacAllister girls really steal the show and I hope we see more of them as this series continues.
I love Mack–he’s barely getting by each day with his three girls between ballet, preschool, therapy, and cooking dinner each night. Mack is exhausted. His wife left him just under a year ago, they are finally getting into a nice rhythm–he still can’t put together a tight bun. Oh, Mack keeps fantasizing about his boss’s youngest daughter, Frannie–someone waaay too young for him. Even if she wasn’t too young for him, he doesn’t have the time to date or to give her the attention she deserves.
Frannie Sawyer is the youngest of the Sawyer sisters and the most sheltered due to a childhood congenital heart defect that caused numerous heart surgeries. She’s tired of being sheltered. She’s tired of doing what’s expected of her. She wants something for herself. Her parents wouldn’t even let her go away to college–attended a local college, instead. Frannie has been lusting after the CFO of her family’s business, Cloverleigh Farms since shortly after he started at the company. And she’s Mack’s part time nanny.
The cross that line again and again…Frannie wants it to develop into a relationship, but Mack doesn’t agree with her. He thinks she deserves more than what he can offer her. His day is filled with his work and his girls. He doesn’t have time for more, but he also doesn’t want to give her up either. She’s only 27! What kind of life can he offer her?
Will Mack overcome his own insecurities?
This book was so, so beautiful! This author always delivers wonderful stories, but I think this time she outdid herself.
Mack is an amazing character, with problems any person could feel related to. He isn’t perfect by any means. He swears a lot, and hasn’t discovered the secret to a perfect bun, but he is kind and sweet to his daughters, and struggle to make their lives as perfect as possible. I loved him!
I also loved Frannie. She’s energetic, and sweet and lovable. She’s been in love with Mack forever, harboring those feelings secretly, wishing one day he notices her. But she also wish to be more independent, and to be seen as an adult for the first time in her life. An adult capable of accomplish things. Maybe capable of failing, of course. But also to learn from her mistakes and grow up.
Mack and Frannie story was sweet and romantic, funny and perfect. Yes, perfect. Even in those moments where they were stubborn. Even when they were suffering. Every part of them, every flaw and every virtue, made them perfect for each other. Every step of the journey made the ending more epic. And every chapter of this book, made this story irresistible and unforgettable.
One of my favorite parts of this novel was the way the author connected some of her previous stories to this one. I loved that. And can’t wait to read the next installment in this new series.
Melanie has done it again! Everything about this story was exactly what I needed. Frannie and Mack’s story was so sweet and so good for them. We caught a glimpse of Mack in BOOK NAME here and his girls and I was hoping we’d get his story. Well, we got it and I wasn’t prepared for how much I was going to love it.
Mack is a single father trying his best to raise his three girls. Watching Mack navigate this was so much fun. He didn’t want to get involved in a relationship even though there was some serious attraction to Frannie. So, watching these two navigate that attraction was so good. Frannie has already had a major crush on Mac k and wasn’t sure he’d ever be interested in her. Little did she know, Mack had feelings for too.
Everything about Frannie and Mack’s story was so good. I loved it and I’m so excited to see book is next in this new series.
