“Sexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”—Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling authorI’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white … the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)
Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

One of my favorites
This was a sweet book, with sexiness and romance and parts that made me cry too! I’m not normally a fan of older man younger woman romances, since I actually like younger men for myself, but the story was good enough it won me over. I was hooked from the very first chapter with Frannie helping out a bride at the hotel with her dress, and then other parts that happened at the beginning getting me invested in the story And then there was Mac, a former Marine, but it was so cute and sweet the way he handled his three daughters. Or sometimes it could be the way they handled him, had him wrapped around their little fingers.
Now he did the thing about how he couldn’t have a relationship, blah blah blah, because of her age, the thing that does annoy me. But in the end, things worked out for our HEA, and what he went through totally had me in tears as I listened.
For the narrators, I mostly really enjoyed them. But I was getting so annoyed with how the female narrator kept being extremely French with how she said Macaron. It was just sooooooo over the top I was growling every time she said it. But then the male character actually thought to himself about how she was saying it that way and I was amused and got that the author was kind of calling the character out for saying it that way, so while it fit, I had to stop myself from cringing every time. Other than that it was a very good read/listen, and I’ll have to check out the rest of the series when I get some time.
To be fair…. I started this series with book 5… not on purpose. But not really an accident either… :}
I sincerely enjoyed this story!
Mack! What’s not to love about an older (37) single dad who has a filthy mouth and an amazing dedication to everything he has on his shoulders!
And Frannie!!! Mannn. I loved her. I had a friend once who was just like being around sunshine… so awesome and just feels good to be around them, that’s how Frannie seemed to me… just a great energy!
I genuinely loved this age gap single dad romance!
Great story. Phenomenal plot! HEA!
Highly recommend.
Melanie Harlow
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
I practically inhaled this book! Finishing it under two hours whilst soaking up the rays in my garden!
I adore a good small town romance and add in a sexy single dad and an age gap and you can’t really get much better than that!
Millie, Felicity and Winnie had me in stitches, they were just the sassiest, cutest and funniest little girls.
This book was a feel good romance, easy to read and a total pick me up book for anyone in need to a good laugh!
Solid 4* read!
Beautiful story
Single dad, Mack is trying to be everything for his three girls after his ex-wife walked away from them. But some days are better than others. Frannie is the youngest of 5 sisters and works with her family at their inn. But she loves to cook & bake. But she has had a crush on Mack forever. But something is stirring up feelings on both sides, can they make it work.
Melanie Harlow can do no wrong! She’s my go-to author when I want to read something I know I’m GUARANTEED to love every minute of, and Irresistible more than delivered! I loved being introduced to the world of Cloverleigh Farms and was instantly head over heels for the place. Irresistible is a swoon-worthy story with a romance that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could, even as I sat there wanting to savor every detail. It’s quickly one of my favourite single dad romances ever, and I can’t recommend it enough!
As far as I can tell, this is the first book from this author that I’ve read & I was really pleased with this story. It was fun, had shades of both light & dark and had quirky characters that seemed very real & relatable. Parts had my eyes filling with tears, while others had me chuckling to myself. Will definitely be looking out for this author from now on.
Sweet and swoon-worthy single dad and nanny/coworker contemporary romance.
Declan ‘Mack’ MacAllister, a single dad of three young daughters, struggles with the balance work and fatherhood. Craves a romantic relationship but dismisses the idea because he has nothing left to give.
Frannie Sawyer, youngest of 5 daughters, works for the family business and also a nanny to Mack’s girls. She is anxious to break free from her parent’s overprotective nature because of a childhood illness. Frannie has kept her long time crush on Mack to herself but every time they are in a room together you are rooting for them.
What I loved about this book:
Frannie’s journey and break out into her own
The Sawyer Sister’s relationship (want to join their family and can’t wait to read their stories)
Mack’s relationship with his daughters
Mack’s daughters – three adorable little firecrackers who keep their dad on his toes, keep him accountable with the swear jar, give endless hugs and will set him straight when necessary
Frannie’s devotion to Mack’s girls and their adoration to her
The chemistry between Frannie and Mack.
Highly recommend this book that has all the feels!
A truly fitting title for this book
This book is definitely irresistible. An amazing story about an awesome single dad that always tries to put his three children first while working hard at at a demanding job. I love everything about this story. It is so realistic and the characters are likable. Mack and Frannie are perfect together and the girls are adorable. A beautiful story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
“All I knew was how good it felt to be with her… to be the man she saw when she looked at me, not the one I saw when I looked at myself.”
This book will have you feeling all kinds of emotions. At times I was smiling, laughing, crying, feeling empathetic and a little proud, others times I was frustrated. This book hits on a few different challenges many people go through daily. It shows the internal and external struggles it creates.
“I was tired of being careful, tired of missing her at night, tired of feeling bad for wanting her, tired of feeling like I was one person with her, and a different person with the kids. Neither version of me was complete. I wanted to be both at once. Was it impossible?”
I’m loving Cloverleigh Farms and can’t wait for Chloe’s story.
I absolutely loved this book! This is the first book I have read by this author and I can’t wait to catch up with the rest of this series!
Frannie has been crushing on Mack for awhile but hasn’t acted on it, when they suddenly find themselves spending time together (she helps out with his children). The sparks fly! Chemistry is off the charts but Mack is scared. He is a single dad to three wonderful girls who are still reeling from their Mum leaving them. Mack doesn’t want to put them through any more heartache but his attraction to Frannie is strong.
My heart fell on more than one occasion, they will he, won’t he, nearly killed me!! Great read!!
Loved this story. Single father. Small town. All the heat.
Irresistible is a wonderful romance filled with all of the challenges you would expect when kind, big hearted, Frannie is drawn to Mac, the single dad with three lovely daughters. The attraction is mutual and chemistry between them is very strong but they have obstacles in their way.
Big, sweet, lovable Mac! You want to love him, yet at the same time you want to smack some sense into him. He is so overwhelmed and his heart wants one thing but his brain is telling him something else. He needs to find the balance, stop being afraid and open up his heart to his future.
This is a great start to a sweet new series!
4.5+ stars
This is the start of a spin-off series at Cloverleigh Farms. We met Mack initially in Only Love as he is Ryan Woods good friend and ex-Marine buddy. Mack is a busy single dad of three young girls and CFO for Cloverleigh Farms. Most days he is barely keeping his head above water due to all of his responsibilities.
Frannie Sawyer is his coworker, boss’s youngest daughter, and Mack’s part time nanny. She should have a flashing neon sign sign that says Off Limits on her. And he really does try. But it just takes one night for passion to ignite, even if they have no clue where to go from there. And due to circumstances they are keeping everything between them a secret.
Frannie may be ten years younger than him(she is still a mature twenty seven), but she is smart, mature, caring, kind, and lights up his day. But he feels like he can’t give her all the time, effort, and future she deserves so is always on guard. There are ups and downs, push and pull, and emotional turmoil. It’s the lure of wanting what he can’t think he can have, but at the same time the thought of getting it is scary.
I really admired Frannie’s spirit and how understanding she was. And she was also pushing her own boundaries and trying to make changes in her life and follow her dreams. I liked Mack. He could go from sweet dad to dirty talking alpha in a moment’s notice. I felt for him as a frazzled dad always feeling that he can’t keep up. He did make me want to shake him a few times, but it was mostly when he was trying to be protective and just made questionable choices thinking he was doing the right thing.
The story is told in dual points of view and I loved getting into their heads, especially Mack’s. Fans of Melanie Harlow will recognize some familiar names and enjoy some cameos. I really like the setting of the inn and meeting her sisters Chloe and April who will be featured in upcoming books. His three girls were precocious and adorable, and I loved how they were a crucial part of the story.
It’s hot, sweet, fun, and full of feels. This book has a dash of reality alongside the romance and passion. It is real life with all it’s craziness, awkwardness, stress, and daily demands. But it is also about finding that person that will stand by your side during the chaos and makes it better. I fell totally in love with this family. I would have liked to get a bit more of the aftermath, but I am looking forward to more in this series and seeing these characters again.
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Irresistible is the first book in the new Cloverleigh Farms series by Melanie Harlow. Mack and Frannie’s story was sweet, funny, with just the right amount of sexiness. I loved the characters and Mack’s three daughters will melt your heart. I highly recommend Irresistible.
Loved this storyline of the single dad and younger part time nanny! It was sweet and full of charm!
I love this story so much. Mac and Frannie are everything and so are Mac’s girls. Frannie is exactly what Mac and his girls need to heal from being abandoned by their wife/mother. Also love seeing some old faces from another great Melanie Harlow book.
How did I not review this??! Oh my lord, what a grave oversight. I absolutely adored Franny. The quirky young one that not everyone expects the best of. And Mack. The outside in the family business, the older guy, the single dad of 3.
Melanie Harlow perfectly brought together all the broken taboos with the simple pleasures of an ordinary life. Not the fireworks of big city life, but the glow worms, and hugs and sweetness of a small town and a family growing together.
Irresistible’ is the first book in the Cloverleigh Farms series. I picked this book up on a recommendation from a friend. We were on our way home from vacation with a 11 hour drive ahead of us. I downloaded this right before we left. I was hit with love at first read. I made my husband find a rest area with WiFi so I could download book 2 which by a miracle had came out that same week. haha it was amazing.
Mack is thirty-seven, a single father of three girls and the CFO of the Cloverleigh Farms. Between work and being a dad Mack doesn’t have time to fall in love, until one day he decided to through caution to the wind and pursue his daughters’ nanny and boss’s daughter – Frannie Sawyer.
Frannie is twenty-seven and she works as a receptionist at her family’s business, the Cloverleigh Farms Inn.
I love books with kids they just had a whole different kind of humor and fun to a romance novel. I flew through Books 1 & 2 and still am loving this series.I can already tell this will be one of my go-to rereads. I can’t wait to read the rest.
