“Sexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”—Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling authorI’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white … the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)
Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

This book is so swoon worthy! I loved Mack, Frankie and the girls so much!
It’s an easy and not so easy love. One of them definitely needs to get out of their heads lol
Frankie was an absolute sweetheart and Mack, he’s just so manly, such a good Dad and I also felt like hitting him upside the head a few times!
Beautifully written, I always love M Harlow books! Highly recommend
“Nothing is impossible to a willing heart”
Oh what a sweet and adorable way to start a new series. I’m in love already.
Frannie and Mack were amazing together, their chemistry was all consuming and their respect for each other was inspiring.
Mack has a lot of baggage. Burned before by a difficult marriage and an even more difficult ex-wives, he is faced with a new reality: being a single parent of three girls since the woman decided to up and left all of them (that’s right, the girls included).
So the last thing in his mind is to pursue a relationship with the nanny, that is also his boss’s daughter and 10 years younger. But that doesn’t keep him from fantasizing about sweet Frannie.
She is adorable, loyal, a pleaser by nature, and totally reliable. She is dreamy and vulnerable, but she is also strong and, at her own way and speed, she fights for what she wants, the same way she fought for her life when she was a kid.
And the girls? Oh my, I loved them. They are all so loud, vivacious, huggable. They’ve been through a lot since their mother left, but they love and trust in Mack with all they have, and they also learnt that it was so safe to love Frannie too.
It was so beautiful, because the story was told in such a real way, with so many relatable feelings. The way Mack tried and failed, and felt guilty for all his responsabilities and his love for the kids. The way He and Frannie tried to find a balance between them and everything else.
The way he was so scared that his kids could get hurt and how he was even more scared that he himself would get hurt again.
And what got to me was the way they realized that a willing heart could conquer all, and that some things and feelings were just too irresistible .
This author gave this book the PERFECT name! It was most definitely irresistible! From the storyline to the characters to being a single dad book (a favorite of mine) to a first page that captured me from the very beginning, I loved it!!! It was perfect! Mack was so swoony (I did want to shake him a few times!) and I loved the way he was with his three daughters. Be still my heart! And I loved Frannie’s character. She was so sweet and just so real! A very well written story! Can’t wait for the next book in this series!!!!
Frannie is tired of everyone babying her. She wants to experience life and part of that is experiencing Mack. But Mack comes with a lot of baggage. He’s older, has three adorable little girls, and a crazy ex, but Frannie doesn’t mind at all.
What an absolutely beautiful book! Mack and Frannie’s journey is so full of passion, regret, forgiveness, and love. I was so taken by their story. My heart was so full for these two and every obstacle they face and overcome. Nothing short of AH-MAZ-ING! 5 stars!!
Oh my! What an incredible story! Hooked from the first chapter, and I couldn’t put it down after that.
I absolutely LOVED Mack’s character and personality. His struggles as a single father made him so real. I enjoyed learning Mack’s and Frannie’s backstory as it related to the other. It was only a matter of time before they both acted on their fantasies…and boy do they act on them! Their chemistry is off the charts hot!
Harlow knows how to craft a story, and this book is no exception. You are in for a real treat with this one.
Five dirty-talking stars for this one!
“You asked me what chances I would take if I wasn’t scared—I’d take a chance on you.”
Melanie Harlow enchants with an irresistible combination of heart, heat and humor.
Thirty-seven year old Mack is a former Marine, CFO at Cloverleigh Farms, and full-time single dad to three precocious little girls: Mille, Felicity and Winnie. He hardly has time to himself and certainly no time to fall in love.
One kiss changes everything.
But who he needs to be and who he wants to be are too different things. With three little girls that are his sole priority he can’t let anyone else into his life, even if Frannie is everything Mack ever needed, but nothing he ever imagined.
“Love is scary. You have to wear your heart outside your chest.”
Sometimes a swoony stubborn dad needs a beautiful determined woman to show him the way, and make him believe that if we’re lucky we get a chance at love and making our dreams come true. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have three smart daughters full of personality to shove you in the right direction.
“I don’t know where we end up. I don’t know how all these pieces of my life are going to fit together. I don’t know how you’re going to put up with my shit. But I do know that my life is much better with you in it, and if you’re willing to take this crazy journey with me—the backseat already full—I’m willing to see where this leads.”
I adored Irresistible and cannot wait for more in the Cloverleigh Farms series!
4.5 stars
This is the best book that I’ve read from this author! it was amazing, beautiful, sexy and its going to put at your heartstrings from the very beginning! I read it in one sitting because it was that good!!
When you’re already smiling from ear to ear three pages into the book, you KNOW it’s going to be a good story.
Mack is MACK-nificent (lame joke, true story). I fell in love with him before I even made it out of chapter one. With his rugged manliness, brooding personality, and subtle charm, Mack is living up to the title of this book. This single dad has a dirty mouth (in more ways that one), an infuriating stubbornness, and a heart of pure gold. And when you see him interact with his daughters? You don’t stand a chance.
Frannie is my new girl crush. Despite the obstacles she’s already had to overcome, her desire to stop playing it safe for a change is inspiring. I love the positivity she exudes and the way she always puts her mind to things and doesn’t waver is fun to watch play out. She’s fun, smart, witty, and has a sexy streak you’d never expect from someone so sweet.
I LOVED the push and pull from these two characters. Mack is the perfect flawed hero, and Frannie is the perfect person to show him that there are two sides to every coin – that he can be both the father and the man he wants to be. But it won’t be easy, and there will be more than one occasion where you’ll want to shake some sense into him. This is a great start to what is sure to be a fantastic series of standalone novels. I can’t wait to read more!
This was such a great story about a single dad, his three sweet girls and the babysitter/fellow employee at work. It was sweet, it was sexy, and there were definitely some emotional parts too. Mack is such a good dad, just trying to do right by his girls. Frannie is younger by 10 years, but also goes through a lot of personal growth to find her way. But I have to say, Mack’s three daughters really stole the show in this book. This is the start of a spin-off series from Melanie Harlow’s One and Only series, so we get a few brief glimpses of some of the characters we’ve met before (although it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone). I just love the mix of sweet and sexy that Melanie puts into her books. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
4.5 Irresistible Stars!!
When I first heard about Irresistible, all I knew was that Melanie Harlow was giving us new words and that I just had to read it. And once I laid eyes on the cover, I swear it was love at first sight. I knew I was going to be a goner and was anxiously counting down the minutes until I had Irresistible in my hands…
Told from dual points of view, Irresistible follows the story of Mack and Frannie. Ever since Mack’s wife left him, he’s been slowly picking up the messy pieces of his life. His life is no longer all about him. He’s three little ones who depend on him and a career to worry about. He’s doing the best that he can, but is far from perfect. If it wasn’t for Frannie, Mack would be totally lost. She is a godsend and is exactly what he needs in his life. The only problem? Aside from being his part-time nanny, she’s his bosses daughter. She should be more than off-limits, but soon she will prove to be too hard to resist. The passion these two share is intense and the kind that is written in the stars. Mack wants nothing more than to have a life with Frannie and soon Mack will have to make a decision. Can he have the life he’s always wanted or will Frannie one day want more than he’s prepared to give?? You’ll just have to pick up Irresistible yourself and see how Frannie and Mack’s story ends….
Irresistible is simply irresistible. Mack and Frannie’s story had me hooked from the moment I started reading their story. I found myself glued to the pages and was dying to see how their story would play out. I was hopelessly addicted.
Mack and Frannie’s story was so frustratingly good with just the right amount of angst and drama that had my heartstrings tugging on overtime. Their story was one of friendship and passion. A story of love and doing the right thing. A story of taking risks and being willing to put your heart on the line no matter the costs.
Frannie was the absolute perfect match for Mack. She was patient and understanding. She knew what she was getting herself into and was prepared for the long haul. She was honest and loving and seriously wiser beyond her years. And then there was Mack. He’s kind of gruff, swears a lot and is in no way perfect. He’s honest about his imperfections and knows that he’s going to screw up. But, you won’t find a more devoted man & father. He just has to find the courage to let go and go after what he wants in life. Together, these two were perfectly matched. The chemistry was instant and undeniable. The push and pull left me begging for more and I wanted nothing more than for these two to have a happily ever after.
Irresistible put my heart through the paces in the best possible ways. I laughed. I swooned. I got frustrated one minute and was breathless the next. My heart was constantly filled with butterflies and I always had a smile on my face. What more could you ask for? Irresistible hit all the marks and I never wanted it to end. I loved getting to fall in love with Mack & Frannie and had a wonderful time getting lost in their love story…
This is a spinoff series of the previous Melanie Harlow ‘s series “One and Only”. This is again about sisters who own a winery, inn in a tourist city near Detroit.
Mack and Frannie were introduced in the last book Only Love and they are all in KU if you subscribe it.
Mack is a 37-year-old single father of 3 girls, who is just facing each day at the time. His ex-wife has vanished and he is alone with his daughters. The book is honest showing his as a strong man with so many fragilities and vulnerabilities. Frannie is a 27-year-old chef-wannabe who has always been protected by her parents and is trying to prove to her family that she can make it on her own. Her father is Mack’s boss and they are an unlikely couple. However, they fit and the book wonderfully tells us their love story. I just loved this book and the characters, they kids are adorable!
You will love this book!
My latest obsession in reading is single dad stories, and when we first met Mack in Only Love, I knew he would cement a place in my heart when his story came out. We got little insights into what he was dealing with being a single dad from his nights out with his best friend Ryan. If you haven’t read Only Love, the story of Ryan and Stella, I highly recommend you do at some point, it is the book that launches the Cloverleigh series.
I was so anxious to see how Mack was going to navigate the landmines in front of him in wanting to pursue a relationship with Frannie. She’s 10 years younger than him, she’s a coworker, and she’s the bosses daughter. He considers those three strikes against them, not to mention he doesn’t feel worthy of pursuing something with someone that has their whole life ahead of them and he feels like his is pretty much finished with nothing left to do but raise his three daughters.
Frannie was such a breath of fresh air. Not having had an easy start in life, she’s been overly sheltered by her parents and at 27, she’s ready to bust out and experience life. Having hid her crush on Mack for years, she finally has a chance to see where things can lead between them.
This story is super emotional for many reasons. If you’re a parent, chances are you’ve experienced many of the same daily struggles he deals with in just trying to get his girls up and dressed and out the door looking halfway decent. The little things that happen that trigger one or all of the girls to start arguing with each other or making each other cry or yell were all too familiar to me and I empathized hugely with Mack. His fears that he was doing the best he could for his kids. The guilt he felt when he wanted just five minutes to himself, minutes he was taking away from spending time with his daughters. Being a single parent is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and I wholeheartedly know exactly the fears and concerns Mack had.
Melanie does a superb job in navigating Mack and Frannie through a tenuous relationship, one they both wanted more than anything but Mack’s fears and feelings of not being worthy kept throwing a wrench into the mix. Frannie was the most patient, understanding person there could be, having dealt with plenty of fears and insecurities of her own. I don’t think Mack gave her enough credit most of the time just because she was younger than him.
I laughed a lot at the antics and disasters that happen with the kids. I got plenty sad when the story delves into the deeper topic of the kid’s feelings about the mother who abandoned them. I had so much hope that Mack and Frannie were going to find their way on this complicated journey. I got hot and bothered at the sexy times between them. I wanted to shake Mack a time or two. I rejoiced for Frannie when she followed her dreams.
I really enjoyed the cameo appearances from several of Melanie’s other characters, it was great visiting with them again!
What a great first book in the Cloverleigh series! I can’t wait to see whose story is next!

Oh the emotional roller coaster! It was wonderful! This story sucked me into its pages and held me hostage !! I couldn’t put it down ! I loved every minute of it !! Melanie knows how to write a store that will make your heart race and your eyes leak !!! I can’t wait for more from the sawyer sisters !! This is going to be a epic series !!
Be still my heart. For all you single dad lovers out there Irresistible is for you. Prepare your heart for some very swoon worthy moments when it comes to Mack. You are so going to love not only how he is with his daughters but just how he is overall. I love the fight in Mack when it comes to Frannie. It is sweet yet a little heart achy at times too. Frannie is the youngest of the Sawyer sisters. You feel for her with the way she is treated still like a child. You see a lot of growth when it come to Frannie. I for one love how she becomes closer to her sisters. Not only is the chemistry between Mack and Frannie amazingly hot but so is the love she has for Mack’s daughters. You will love those girls just as much as everyone else in this series. Don’t get me started on a few cameos from previous books. The Sawyer family you are going to love throughout this series. I for one can’t wait for more. Melanie Harlow will make you fall in love hardcore with this one. She just has this magical way of making her characters come to life. So get ready for a swoon worthy time when it comes to Irresistible. This is a need to one click book.
I absolutely adore Mack and Frannie. Love the story and characters. I love everything Meanie writes. Single Dad yes please. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
Irresistible is the perfect name for this book considering it’s that and so much more and it’s an excellent way to start off this series!! Ms. Harlow wrote this sweet and charming book with such finesse which has plenty of laugh of loud moments(Mack’s little girls stole the show), heartwarming, tender and adorable scenes. The plot is creative, flawless and oh so romantic. And Mack is the ultimate, single DILF and the way he interacted with his girls made my ovaries explode immediately!! His character is so down to earth and very lovable. Frannie couldn’t have been more perfect and lovely. She too is down to earth and I adored everything about her. These two together are wonderful and their sexy times are steaming HOT!!
If you are looking for a heartfelt, relatable and entertaining story, then this is the definitely the book for you. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in this fantastic series.
It’s one of these stories that I had no choice but to read in one lazy afternoon, because it’s that addicting.
Mack is a single parent to 3 young girls so he doesn’t have time for a relationship. Frannie has been in his life for a while. She always there for him. Helping with his girls but then they become more. Mack is very conflicted in what he needs or thinks he deserves. He doesn’t think he’s worthy of Frannie’s love.
This is a very sweet, sexy and very romantic story. It’s a refreshing story that sucked me in and made me fall in love with these amazing characters. I love stories with children in them and these 3 were just perfectly created.
A great series debut. Beautifully written with a well mastered storyline that flowed well. I can’t wait for more.
Told in a dual POV with and HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
“Irresistible” is one of Melanie Harlow’s finest books. Mack and Frannie (and Winnie, Felicity and Millie) story is beautifully written and developed. For me, it was a return to the wonderful world that Melanie Harlow created in the Crazy Happy Love series. Those were the first books that I read of Melanie Harlow’s and it was amazing to see glimpses into the lives of some of those characters. (Although, this book is a complete STANDALONE. But if you’ve been around for a while in this universe, you will love seeing the snippets of characters from other books.)
Mack is a single father to three adorable girls. Frannie is his boss’s daughter and part time babysitter. It’s a beautiful relationship that all these characters create through the course of this book.
A must read and one of my top reds for 2019 so far!
**4.5 Stars**
Melanie Harlow has done it again by creating a must read story line with some amazing characters. Mack is doing his best trying to survive the daily grind while raising 3 girls on his own. Frannie is Mack’s (younger) nanny. Things are also more complicated by the fact that they both also work for her father.
Bottom line: Frannie is AWESOME!!! I mean, this woman can do it all. Mack is a very loving and devoted dad, and even though he is somewhat relationship challenged, the chemistry between he and Frannie is so so so HOT. Mack’s daughters helped completely make this story even more awesome. They were endearing and funny and I loved watching their relationship with Frannie grow.
I read this book in one sitting because I absolutely could not put it down. Melanie Harlow’s books tend to usually be that way. Another read I would highly recommend!!
I loved this book. I say it with all of Melanie’s book, but this is my favorite. I loved the chemistry between Mack and Frannie. I also loved their relationship with Mack’s daughters. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
