“Sexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannie’s story!”—Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling authorI’m a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I don’t have time to fall in love—I’m too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white … the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but she’s twenty-seven, the boss’s daughter, and my new part-time nanny—which means she’s completely off-limits. It’s bad enough I can’t stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk you’re thinking.)
Actually, I’m worse than that—because I didn’t stop with a kiss, and now I can’t stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what it’s like to want something just for me. She’s everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
I’m a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didn’t. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

Who doesn’t love a bit of a forbidden romance? Seriously, fooling around with the boss’ daughter? Hooking up with the nanny? Usually makes for quite a sexy, swoony romance, right?
Well, Irresistible has all that and more! You’re going to fall in love with Mack and Frannie, just like I did. Mack’s a single dad—just trying to make it through the day without totally screwing things up with his adorable daughters. They’re a handful between school, homework, dance classes, laundry, grocery shopping and everything else on top of his duties as CFO for Cloverleigh Farms, Mack can’t handle much more. And he definitely can’t handle the bubbling feelings he’s developed for the boss’ daughter, Frannie. She’s smart, fun, sexy, and great with his girls. And he knows she’d be just as great between the sheets, too. But she deserves more than a man who’s whole world is wrapped around his daughters, right?
Frannie’s been trying to break free from the triple knotted apron stings her parents tied when she was a kid. And her attraction to Mack and finally doing something about it is just one thing she’s got on her bucket list. She’s amazed when she discovers her attraction is not unrequited. And when things move quickly with Mack, she quickly realizes she wants a future with him and his girls.
But Mack’s not ready for more. He’s just keeping his head above water right now. How can he devote himself to another person when he’s barely making it with his daughters and work?
Gah, I found myself struggling to not reach into my kindle and shake Mack to get him to realize he could have it all if he just stopped with the tunnel vision of what a successful relationship looks like. I would have loved more of a connection with Mack and Frannie—more intimacy. Sometimes I felt that there was more of a connection between Frannie and the girls than between the adults. But once Mack finally opened his eyes and his heart, along with quite a bit of assistance from his girls, he finally made his move. And it was so darn endearing! This is a good start to what could turn out to be a fantastic series. 3.5 stars
Cuteness overload! I fell in love with three cute and incredible girls, with their devoted dad and with a selfless girl willing to fight for the man she loves.
After his wife leaves Mack with their three girls, he will only focus on them and their well being, while forgetting about himself and what he wants or needs. But when Mack can’t fight his attraction for Frannie anymore, lots of hearts could get broken.
Being a parent is not an easy job but being a single parent with three little girls can make you feel there is no time for being anything but a dad,. But Millie, Felicity and Winnie, are special girls that know their dad is the best, except when he ruins the only chance he has to be with an amazing woman. The girls won’t let their dad let Frannie go and they will encourage him to do the best for all of them.
I loved every moment in this story from the first page
5 PERFECT TREAT STARS!! Melanie Harlow has given readers the perfect treat to devour. I read this book in one sitting…I stayed up late to finish it, so worth it. What a great start to this new series. Mack is perfection….he is a former Marine with a dirty mouth and good looks. He is also a single dad that puts his girls first, over his own needs. Frannie is beautiful, tough and the perfect woman for Mack. Their story is tough with all the feels and beautifully told. This is a must read, so make sure to 1-Click this book.
Irresistible is a satisfying, good read from Melanie Harlow. This is the first book in her Cloverleigh Farms series, but the hero appeared in Only Love, and there is a cameo from Natalie and Miles from Some Sort of Crazy. I love getting a glimpse of characters from books I’ve read and Melanie Harlow is especially good at constructing a world that encompasses all of her books.
Irresistible, while very good, is not my favorite of Melanie Harlow’s books. Mack, the main character, is a single dad and former Marine who falls in love with Frannie, his boss’s daughter and his part-time nanny. They have fantastic chemistry and a true connection from the start, and Mack’s daughters are well-written, complete characters (rather than the plot devices found in some other authors’ books) with real feelings and complicated lives. However, the reason Mack and Frannie run into problems in this book did not feel completely right to me– I found it to be exaggerated and not completely in line with what we knew of the character in question. Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed reading this book, as even not-my-favorite-book by Melanie Harlow is better than most books by most other authors.
My reaction to Melanie Harlow’s Irresistible is the same as it’s title. This story is IRRESISTIBLE. This story made me swoon and sigh so hard. I dare you to start it and the stop before the finishing line. You simply can’t. I got mesmerized by this story.l am in love with Mac and Frannie.
Small Town romance meets single dad romance in this story. Mac’s character won my heart and made me breathless. An ex marine and presently CFO of Cloverleigh Inn, Mac is recovering from a bad marriage and even worse divorce. He is a devoted dad to three most beautiful and amazing girls. The strong point of this character was it felt so real. The author gave him imperfections like normal human. He is struggling and making mistakes. He wants to escape all the responsibilities. And all these made him so attractive!
Frannie is like a bright sunny day in cold winter. She is funny, sweet, compassionate, caring and simply adorable. She has feelings for Mac but never could express it. I loved how the author gave her life’s story of finding independence and self worth equal attention along with the love story. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. The thrill of hide and seek mixed with true love and red hot passion. And the ending was one of the best I ever read. Full on rom com movie feeling!
The story was fantastic and captivating. It had some deeply emotional and dramatic twists and turns. And once again they were realistic and the troubles were definitely something an unconventional couple like Frannie and Mac would face. The family, the friends and the small town of Cloverleigh added to the beauty of this book.
Irresistible by Melanie Harlow is all about taking chance for love and life. The emotions were amazing. The feelings were out of the world. I am in love and lust with this swoony sexy modern day fairy tale.
Received ARC for honest review
Great start to a new series from Melanie Harlow. First, I’ll list what I loved about this book. Everything. Ok, but seriously. The setting – I love the location of Cloverleigh Farms and the supporting cast, especially Frannie’s sisters. I’m a sucker for family based books, but I also liked that even though this family is super close-knit they didn’t have perfect relationships and Frannie especially had some connecting to do w her sisters. That just added to the depth and the special factor for me. The writing – as usual Melanie Harlow brought her terrific storytelling, great characters and humor into the mix. The cover – it’s gorgeous. Mack – this dirty talking single father was a perfect book boyfriend. Frannie – she could be vulnerable but was also strong and not afraid to back down from what she wanted.
I enjoyed every second of reading this book. You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait for more in this series.
Frannie and Mack’s story start off as coworkers and Frannie is also a friend who helps nanny Mack’s 3 kids from a divorced marriage. They find they are around each other a lot and they’re attracted to each other, but they don’t want to cross the line between friends to lovers or coworkers to lovers, but can they resist it? Can they resist the chemistry between them? Frannie has an idea of what she wants in her future, but those done align with Mack’s plans since he doesn’t want to get married or have more children. Mack feels torn between wanting something for himself versus what is best for his children. Mack’s 3 daughters, Millie, Felicity, and Winnie, are great, realistic characters! These girls were awesome!
This is another great start to a series from Melanie Harlow. I can’t wait to read more about the other Sawyer sisters!
Mack is one tough nut to crack! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Irresistible is the story of a man who is so lonely and set in his ways that it takes him losing the one that he loves to finally crack open his heart.
I am a sucker for a single daddy love story and this does not disappoint at all! I seriously want 10 stars for this! It’s all the things and more.
Melanie Harlow is able to make the reader addicted to her stories in a beautiful way. And the same happened to me while reading Irresistible. I’m downright charmed by Mack and Frannie’s story. Books that contain single father trope are one of my favorites because they often show how much a single parent is able to sacrifice for the sake of his children. Even if the expense is your own happiness.
Declan McAllister is a single father, raising three daughters, who works at Cloverleigh Farms as CFO. Outside of work and his children, there is no time for anything else, so his fantasies about the youngest daughter of the owners of Cloverleigh Farms must remain right there – in the world of fantasy. Not only that this man doesn’t have time for a girlfriend in his life, he still lives in the conviction that after the catastrophe what was his marriage and terrible divorce – there is absolutely nothing in him to offer a girl like Frannie. In addition to the fact that the girl is much younger, she’s the daughter of the owners and she works in Coverleigh too, she’s still working partially as a nanny of his daughters. And this is an additional reason why he shouldn’t dream about her.
Oh, Mack! Nothing turns me on in a book like a devoted father who puts his children’s well-being above all else. And Mack is like that. Although sometimes he has moments when he would hide in the hole just to relax for a minute. He’s a mature man, incredibly sexy, who will make your heart melt and make your panties fall to the floor. His daily struggles made me root for him like a crazy cheerleader and tighten all my muscles so that he could finally find a balance and just be happy. Frannie, on the other hand, is such a good soul that she’is the perfect candidate for Mack’s other half. Although she was the entire life sheltered by her own parents because of her health, she decided now to take her destiny into her own hands and be independent. And nothing will show her independence more than opening her own business and selling macaroons, which baking has been her passion for years. The same applies to her feelings for Mack. She must convince him to take a chance, otherwise they’ll never be together.
Irresistible is a heartwarming story, full of child’s laughter, the smell of home-cooked meals and the hope that regardless of the life situation, everyone deserves love and happiness. It’s also the proof that you’re able to achieve everything you dream about, you just have to believe in yourself. Melanie Harlow once again filled my heart with the beauty of her words and I can’t wait for the rest of the Cloverleigh Farms series.
Loved this! The story is wonderful! Mack is everything you want and need in a book boyfriend. Frannie is great! I loved her from the very beginning. I also loved the girls. So cute. The story is so entertaining. I had so much fun reading this. I highly recommend this!
Was I expecting this book to be good? Yes. Was I expecting to love it as much as I did? No. And did I expect it to become one of my favorites single dad romances? Not a chance but here we are.
I freaking loved this book. It was seriously one of the best single parent romances I’ve ever read. I don’t know if it was that Mack and Frannie were friends and had a sort of history already, if it was all the angst on both sides due to each of their pasts, if it was the longing they had for each other and the sexual tension that kept building and building or just simply watching them be a cute and sweet family before anything even happened. Everything just worked for me and made this the perfect single dad romance with so much sweetness and love. I just adored it and Mack’s little girls were adorable and they had such an important role in the romance *le sigh*. And guys, they were so smart, every time I remember how they made their daddy come to his senses and helped him get the girl back – it was pretty epic.
Irresistible was exactly that, irresitible for my heart. I completely fell in love with these characters from the start and my love grew along with theirs. This was the perfect sweet story with so much heart and y’all should check it out. Melanie Harlow sure knows how to write an outstanding story that will make you swoon at every page.
I can always rely on Melanie Harlow to give me a sweet, feel good romance. I’m a sucker for single dads, and it was so sweet reading about the relationship between Mack and his daughters. I was not sure how I would feel about this book – I was expecting to be irritated because of the age difference between Mack and Frannie (come on, ladies don’t have to be in their 20’s to be attractive and exciting!) but you just can’t help loving Frannie and rooting for their relationship.
Mack’s wife abandoned him and their three girls. He’s trying to get through each day the best he can while juggling life as a single parent. Frannie works with him at Cloverleigh Farms, and helps him by watching the kids after school a few days a week. I would say this book didn’t give me as many laughs as some of her other books do, but it is still a sweet, enjoyable story and one that I would recommend.
This book is written from both Mack and Frannie’s point of views. During Frannie’s internal dialog, you get a little snapshot of each of her sisters, which makes me look forward to the other books in the series!
Is there anything more perfect than a single dad that loves his kids fiercely? I think not! Mack and Frannie are my new favorite!
Oh how I love the worlds that Melanie Harlow creates! I love how past characters make subtle cameos!
Irresistible is the first story in the Cloverleigh Farms series. This is the story of Frannie and Mack!
I flove Mack! He is a single dad of three girls. He is an overwhelmed, stressed out dad. I admired how Ms. Harlow gave him real feelings! You know the ones that most parents have…yes they are a bit selfish, but they are real! I fell hard for him when reading his struggles of everyday life with them!
Frannie is my hero! She was undemanding, but she made it clear how she felt about Mack and the girls. She knew of the obstacles and Mack’s priorities and she embraced them just as hard as she embraced the girls and Mack.
Frannie and Mack’s chemistry was amazingly hot! Their relationship felt real and honest, it wasn’t sunshine and rainbows all the time, there was times of strife and disappointment but it made the happy times so much more sweeter!
The secondary characters are amazing, I loved Millie, Felicity and Winnie they brought so much more to the story! The Sawyer sisters are going to be epic! I can’t wait to read about Chloe’s story next! (My namesake!!! OK, OK, I know she’s not named after me, but a gal can dream right?!?)
Irresistible is another Melanie Harlow story that I couldn’t put down. There are so many enjoyable tropes, single dads are always a favorite. The chemistry between Mac and Frannie is a whole lot of steamy, and a whole lot of fun. Also, I have been craving macaroons for DAYS.
I love how this author ties in characters from all of her stories and brings the setting together. The book flows easily and it’s a story that keeps your attention. I am excited to read more stories at Cloverleigh Farms.
***5 ‘#TeamFrannie’ Stars***
After finishing Only Love I was crossing my toes (and fingers) that we’d get more of Mack (and Grams because Grams is awesome!) at some point down the road because I really wanted to see Mack get his HEA and I wasn’t disappointed! This one had me doing everything from swooning and making my ovaries explode to being so frustrated that I wanted to reach out and Gibbs smack a certain someone numerous times all while enjoying every second of this sweet and smexy romance.
I loved Mack going into this book. I mean, who doesn’t love a parent who puts his kids first and does everything they can to show that love? And lemme tell you, Mack is a great father and a good man. A really good man with a good heart, but dear lord his picture would be used as a description under the saying “weight of the world on his shoulders”. I understood why, but need to Gibbs smack him was strong.
Frannie was a surprise, a very pleasant one, and I absolutely adored her. She’s sweet, compassionate and easy going. But what I truly adored about her was how she decided to take charge of her life in all ways. She saw where change was needed and, even when it was uncomfortable, she made the effort to do and say what was needed to make things happen and it showed how strong she really was.
I enjoyed Mack and Frannie’s journey to their HEA, I did. It was all kinds of second chance at love/single parent/taboo-ish goodness, BUT it was also frustrating as all get out! I mean the numerous urges to knock some sense into a certain single dad was STRONG, but I still loved every second of it. While there were differences and hurdles to cross, they just flowed together, at least when they allowed it. Their banter was fun and the smexy was hot! As for the bump in the road. It wasn’t a surprise, though still frustrating, but I LOVED how it all worked out in the end.
And then there are Mack’s three girls: Millie, Felicity & Winnie. These three were all kinds of awesome and I loved all the sweetness and chaos they brought to the story as a whole.
This was a fun read and I’m so happy we get to spend more time with the Cloverleigh Farms crew and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

Melanie Harlow is one of my favorite authors! If its from her, I gotta read it… and I’m so thankful to receive this ARC.
I understand that this is a new series—the Cloverleigh series. This first book is about Frannie and Mac… they made an appearance in Ms. Harlow’s last book, ONLY LOVE. Mac is One of Ryan’s closest friends and is the bestman in his upcoming wedding. Frannie is the receptionist at her family’s inn—The Cloverleigh Inn, where Mac is employed as the CFO… aaand she also 10years younger than him and is currently his kids’ part time nanny.
Personally, when you’re already in your late 30’s, a 10-year age gap isn’t really a big deal anymore… but when you went through a nasty divorce and taking care of three daughters, starting a relationship with the boss’ daughter/nanny is not something you take lightly…
I understood Mac’s hesitations… but his push and pull was exasperating because it was like he’s almost stringing her along… or taking advantage of her feelings for him. Frannie on the other hand was more decisive but she was just mostly taking her cues from Mac… she didn’t want to impose… and I felt her frustration and hurt.
And those adorable girls… they almost stole the spotlight away from the couple.
I enjoyed reading the book… The pacing was good. The characters were great… It’s mainly a story about taking chances—taking a chance to make your dream a reality and taking a chance at love.
It’s sweet and swoony and it’s something you’d want to read on a sunny day at the beach or just simply hanging out at home relaxing…
The title of this book perfectly match the story. I just found all the characters irresistible! Especially the girls. They were simply too adorable.
This wasn’t a bad book. It wasn’t phenomenal, either. I LOVED Mack’s three daughters. Their intervention with him, and the subsequent “go win back the girl” scene were hilarious. Mack’s self-important, “I’m older so I know what you want better than you do” attitude really got on my nerves. He was an amazing dad, though. Frannie may have been ten years younger, but in some ways she was the more mature one in that she was willing to take the risk.
Mack and Frannie were good together, though. He was the support she needed to follow her dream, and she helped him to lighten up and to learn how to enjoy himself again.
After all of Mack’s buildup about it, though, I felt a little let down that there was no fallout – good or bad – with Frannie’s parents about their relationship. He was so concerned because of both their age difference and the fact that he’s their employee, but it was completely brushed over.
Oh my heart! I loved this book! Like hardcore in love with it. Filled with sweet, sexy, heartfelt moments, Irresistible gave me all the good feels. This books was so much more than a single father falling for the nanny. It had heart, personal growth, and the right amount of heat. Like I said. I LOVED this book!!
These characters are EVERYTHING!! Frannie, Mack and his three adorable little girls totally stole my heart.
Mack is…*sigh…hot as hell. The way he loves his daughters made me absolutely weak in the knees. Being a single father, you see him struggle to create the perfect ballet bun or cook a proper breakfast, but he tries for his girls. Gah! So swoony.
As it becomes more difficult to function he relies on the help of the girls’ nanny, Frannie Sawyer. The more time Mack and Frannie spend together the stronger the feelings become. Their connection is super steamy. With her being his boss’s daughter as well as the girls’s nanny and their age difference, it provides that delicious forbidden element I love so much.
I adored Frannie. She so sweet and caring. She grows so much in this book. After suffering from health issues as a child, her parent kept her sheltered – stifling her dreams. She begins to really figure out what she wants out of life. She’s definitely one of my new favorite Melanie Harlow heroines.
Melanie Harlow kicked off this new series on a high note. I cannot wait to see what more she has in store. If it’s anything like Irresistible, I know I’ll love it.
