I only have one rule when it comes to men: don’t fall in love.
And it’s never been a problem before. Then again, I’d never met Hunter. He’s younger. Successful. And he’s the first man who understands me, sees me.
He’s also my client, and the key to winning a prestigious home design contest.
But there’s so much more at stake than my career.
Now I have to decide which is scarier–losing the prize … career.
Now I have to decide which is scarier–losing the prize or my heart.

I love age gap romances, but the way Jenna Hartley writes age gaps…I am ADDICTED. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she writes about strong, successful women and Irresistible is no exception to this. Lauren and Hunter were previously introduced in Unexpected and I loved the little bits we got of them in that book, so I was excited for much more of them.
Lauren doesn’t do relationships, at all. They aren’t her thing. She is strong, confident, successful and I pretty much want to be her best friend. Hunter is young, but successful. He owns his own business and his hardworking and truly a great friend. Like Lauren, he also doesn’t do relationships. He is more of one and done type of guy. However, after an encounter in the family planning aisle of Target these two will cross paths several times.
I loved the beginning of Lauren and Hunter’s relationship. Back before they knew each other’s names and would run into each other in the most random of places. There was always somewhat of a connection between them and that connection continued to blossom as the story progressed. I LOVED the banter they had. It was the perfect mix of heat and laughs.
Lauren and Hunter brought out feelings in each other they didn’t know they could help. They truly completed each other and made each other better people.
Irresistible is a MUST READ!
Irresistible is a great addition to the Love in LA series. We originally meet Hunter in Perspective and later on in Unexpected. Hunter isn’t one to do relationships and is more into one night stands. Lauren is Alexis’ best friend, and she is the female version of Hunter.
Hunter doesn’t want more in a relationship because all the woman he comes across are out for either his money or sex. Lauren on the other hand, has trust issues with men which stem from her memories of her father. Their paths cross one day at Target and the sparks start flying from there. They have a couple more run ins and with each one they can’t seem to stop thinking of the other. As much as Lauren wants to stop mixing work with pleasure, she can’t help herself when Hunter becomes her client. They set rules for this “situation” so that no one gets hurt. The chemistry between the two is pretty intense and the moments they are together are pretty steamy as well. They are perfect for each other or are they? A secret is divulged causing their worlds to come crashing. I won’t spoil the fun you need to find out if they work it out or move on.
I love Jenna Hartley’s ability to create a story that is so easy for the reader to connect with and leaves you wanting more. By the end of the story, I feel like I have gained some new friends that I can’t wait to catch up with tomorrow. I also liked that Jenna still kept us updated on how things are between previous characters like Kate and Xander, as well as Preston and Alexis. I hope this series continues to follow some other characters. I see so much potential for this series.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Hunter and Lauren! I have no words for how much I loved this book! Jenna Hartley has left me feeling so many different things. I couldn’t read Irresistible fast enough but never wanted it to end. I was addicted at page one when Lauren tells the guy she can find anyone to replace him and walks out.
Lauren is sassy, fierce, strong, and independant. She knows what she wants and she doesn’t let anyone tell her she shouldn’t. She doesn’t trust men, and refuses to have a relationship. Hunter is hot, single, owns his own company, and doesn’t sleep with the same woman more than once. So a chance encounter at Target has both of their lives turned upside down.
The attraction and chemistry between these two is off the charts. The banter is hilarious and hot as hell. They both agree to the rules no lies, no feelings, just sex. They maybe the perfect couple on paper. One loving meaningless sex just as much as the next. Lauren is the interior designer, designing Hunter’s recently purchased home. However, that is not the first time they have met. Their relationship is full of sexual innuendos and flirty comebacks from the moment they met in the Target isle.
I loved the development of their relationship and how it happens on it’s own. Each of them fighting their feelings and refusing to admit them. They just kind of sneak up and scream here I am, ready or not. Hunter was more than she bargained for when he became her unicorn client, and the unicorn guy that can change her thinking?
I LOVED everything about these two! As individuals they were missing something they didn’t know they were missing until they met the other. They were two semi-broken people, who came together to form a whole.
Irresistible is beautifully written with an amazing plot and brilliant cast of characters. Hartley had me captivated by Hunter and Lauren from start to finish. I will be first in line to see what she gives us next! I cannot say how much I loved this book!
