To say we come from different worlds is an understatement. I’m ambitious. Professional. I keep my nose clean and my reputation impeccable. No bad choices. No bad boys. The VP of the Ironwood Lords of … bad choices.
No bad boys.
The VP of the Ironwood Lords of Carnage?
Definitely not part of the plan.

It’s impossible to deny the heat between us.
Whoever said opposites attract? They’re not wrong.
He’s confident and cocky.
Deliciously dangerous. Definitely doable.
He’s fire to my ice.
Bad boy to my good girl.
Unfortunately for me, he’s damn near irresistible.
But I will resist him. I have to.
I know from bitter experience, men in general can’t be trusted.
Even the ones who look squeaky clean can harbor dark secrets underneath.
And Rourke? He doesn’t even try to hide his dangerous side.
I’m so tempted to give him my body.
But I’ll never trust Rourke with my heart.

Absolutely love the spin off of LOC. Rouke and Laney did not disappoint, great start off. Love the characters, banter and hot steamy scenes.
I voluntarily reviewed this advance reader copy of this book.
Rourke and Laney will have wanting more and more of their action packed romance with lots of steamy scenes and the words and the story flow so well. It pulls you right in and don’t let go till the end. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Tori thinks her heart is broken so she can’t really live. Then she needs an electrician and Dante walks into her life. Together they realize that they have the spark that starts love.

Iron Will was the first book within the spinoff series, Lords of Carnage Ironwood MC by Daphne Loveling.
Rourke Powers was a patched MC member. He grew up poor and abused and had a heart for those in circumstances similar to his childhood.
Delaney “Laney” Hart was a social worker at the local hospital. She had quite the baggage through her socialite family that she left behind in her home town, but she loved helping families and making a difference.
Rourke and Laney met at the hospital. They were exact opposites in every way but had chemistry. Loveling took us through the plot conflict as well as their relationship development.
I’m a huge Lords of Carnage fan but I was craving more with this spinoff. I desired more depth and the storyline was confusing at times. It also had quite a few editing errors.
In the end, it was a quick read and introduced some of the MC members we can expect to see in the future. I’m still a huge Loveling fan; this just wasn’t my favorite to date.
This was a great MC Romance read. The spinoff series is off to a good start with this first book in the series. I love the bad boy meets good girl trope, and the author executed it very well. Action packed with a real edge of your seat feel. Definitely worth reading.
This is the first book in the Lord of Carnage of Ironwood series. Rourke Powers is the Vice-President of the MC and exuded serious rawness and danger in every movement. He takes proud in protecting his MC family and friends…the initial meeting of Paisley set off warning bells when he noticed something wasn’t acceptable in Paisley room.
Delaney Hart is a social worker at Morningside Hospital and the daughter of a prominent Senator. She was assigned to Paisley case due to no insurance on file and other interest including the mother boyfriend (Mickey).
I loved Rourke and Laney interactions with concern for Paisley. This is a great action packed story involving the club, a cartel and protecting the innocent. An amazing start to a new series.
***** voluntarily received an advance copy of this book.****
The first in the Ironwood MC series, Rourke and Laney’s story in “Iron Will”, is hot and swoon worthy! Although they are an unlikely pair, they find common ground when it comes to protecting and caring for a little girl and her mother. Their chemistry is written so flawlessly that the story leaps off the pages. A spinoff of Lords of Carnage MC, Daphne Loveling gives the reader a story that is a real page turner. **Receiving an advance copy of “Iron Will”, I voluntarily give my honest opinion**
Iron Will was recommended to my by a friend and it is the first book by Daphne Loveling that I have read. I am definitely a new fan! I love MC books and this ticked off all he boxes for me. You can’t go wrong with a hot, sexy alpha man especially when his perfect match is a smart, sassy woman! Sparks fly when these opposites are pulled together like magnets! Great read! I’ll be back for more of her books!
Absolutely amazing start to a new series. Rourke and Laney are two people who come together to protect an innocent little girl, they’re from two different worlds, but work well together for a good cause. Their chemistry is off the charts. They both find something they did not know was missing in the lives. This book was intriguing, suspenseful, and heartwarming. Daphne Loveling is fantastic storyteller, she never disappoints.
Iron Will is book one of the Ironwood MC series written by the amazing author Daphne Loveling and an awesome spin-off of Lords of Carnage MC series. This is Rourke Powers and Delaney Hart story. Laney is a social worker at Morningside Hospital and the daughter of Senator Hart from Kentucky. Rourke is a badass biker and VP for the Ironwood Charter of Lords of Carnage. I loved Rourke and Laney connection, their chemistry is HOT!!! This book has everything you want in an MC romance; sexy bikers, strong women, reliable and protective characters, danger, suspense, MC drama, passion with a happy ending. This was a great start to a new series!!! Daphne Loveling does it again, can’t wait to read the stories of other members from the Ironwood MC chapter.
Biker with a big heart!
Iron Will is the first book of the Ironwood series, an MC spin-off of Lords of Carnage series. We are introduced to new characters in the LOC brotherhood located in the town of Ironwood. This is Rourke and Delaney story.
Rourke is the Vice-President of the MC who is visiting a fellow brother, Bear, at the hospital who is recovering from a bar fight injury. He encounters a little girl named Paisley who is across the hall from Bear’s room, scared and cowering from her mom’s deadbeat boyfriend as he yells and insists he take her home without further medical attention. Rourke knows all too well when a kid shows signs of abuse and his protective instincts kick in.
As a social worker at Morningside Hospital, Delaney Hart is surprised to see a hunky biker whose actions to protect Paisley come close to her heart. Delaney knows the little girl needs someone like Rourke and the MC in her corner for protection from Mickey, her mom’s boyfriend. Rourke and Delaney unofficially join support for the struggling family. I thought the connection between Rourke and Delaney is great. And I admired Delaney’s determination to be independent of her senator father and make a meaningful career. Ironwill is a great start to a new MC series.
Oh my word, I have always loved Daphne Loveling’s books, especially the Lords of Carnage MC series, but the Ironwood MC Chapter takes it to the next level! Iron Will is fabulous, I’m fairly certain that Roarke is my new favorite character and Laney is pretty great too! This book has it all, excitement, extreme tense scenes, hot sexy times and characters that become imbedded in your mind so much that you can’t wait to get their full stories! Daphne Loveling never lets me down…am I right or am I right? Trust me, I’m right! Looking forward to the next book with the Ironwood crew, I have high hopes and expectations for these guys! Thanks so much for the amazing read Ms. Loveling, can’t wait to see what your vivid imagination comes up with next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and highly recommend it.
I really loved this story. Rourke and Laney had such amazing chemistry. I loved how they came together to protect those who needed it. The relationship grew quickly and burn so hot! This one came with just enough tension to make me keep flipping those pages to see what Rourke would do to get to Laney. I just loved it and I can’t wait for the next LOC Ironwood!!
Summary:
A “Life” novel. Real. Raw. Gritty. Evocative. Thought-provoking. Sensual.
There is a lot of depth to this novel. It is labeled as a “romance”, which, for some, carries a stigma of “fluff” reading – no substance nor substantive value for certain readers, who view romance novels with disdain. Then there is the “motorcycle gang” stigma of rough, crude, brawling, law-defying citizens. Sometimes we are too quick with our judgments, based on the face of a situation, versus fact-checking before rendering a verdict. Too, there is the low income, single mom stigma. A down-trodden, marginal income, loving mom, with little to no life-skills training nor formative education, working in the “entertainment industry”. Some people assume this single mother is irresponsible and is not trying hard enough to achieve better things for herself and her offspring.
Now the cliches: Upstanding political family must be fine people; perfect family composition of dad, mom and two children; the socially prominent political family is looked up to and revered; how lovely it is that this perfect political family is financially secure; and, this family is able to mingle with “the elite” of society. What a dream, eh!
The main female character can empathize with the single mother due to growing up with a politician father who controlled the family and environment they lived in. Abuse is not always about black and blue coloured skin nor broken bones, sometimes it’s composition is vacant-looking eyes, a stoic demeanour or a person shielding themself with a metaphorical mask. Listed below are some song lyrics by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, that aptly describe some of the feelings of some abused people:
“The Tracks Of My Tears”
“If you look closer it’s easy to trace
The tracks of my tears …
Outside I’m masquerading
Inside my hope is fading”
“Tears Of A Clown”
“I try to keep my surface hid
Smiling in the crowd I try
But in my lonely room I cry
The tears of a clown
When there’s no one around… ”
How remiss of me, I almost forgot to speak about the romance taking part in this novel. There is an almost instant connection between the main male and female characters. Simmering, smoking-hot sensuality that burns right through the pages. (Warning: Keep fire extinguisher at the ready!)
You ask, “What is the point of this review?” Goodie … all the above are from a “romance” novel. Hmmmm … perhaps … just maybe … readers and the general public will be less likely to try and “judge a book by it’s cover” nor by it’s genre.
This novel is an excellent read and should be classified as one that everyone 18+ may read, not only for the romance, but also, for the relevance of the well described social stigmas that were brought to the forefront of this book.
Highly recommended read!
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
We are back with the Lords Of Carnage! This time it’s the Ironwood Chapter and Rourke (the VP) is not happy! After visiting a brother in hospital he spots something that makes his blood boil and he sets himself and the other brothers as protectors. This puts him in the path of Laney, a social worker at the hospital. There are sparks from the get go and I loved the build up between these two.
The MC is a brotherhood who protect what’s theirs, don’t get me wrong, they ain’t no boy scouts but they also won’t stand by and let innocents get hurt. Loved this book! Cannot wait to get to know more of this Chapter!
This is awesome read. Laney and Rourke are so yummy. They each feel the attraction to each other. But there’s the case of making sure that Paisley has everything she needs. Mickey on the other hand is just bad. I loved the characters; you think you know them as real people. Well written and as a spin-off from Lords of Carnage it’s an excellent job. I received an ARC for this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
This spin off from the Lord’s of Carnage Series will feed your wild side. Happenstance brought Rourke and Laney together to fight for justice for a little girl, but as time moves forward and the longer Rourke and Laney are together the higher the flames climb till there’s no resistance anymore. This story has a passionate force you’ll feel down to your bones, but it doesn’t stop there the anticipation alone is so overwhelming by the time you finish reading this book you’ll be ecstatic. I recommend you start reading this book immediately if your into MC stories that make you feel like you just climbed off the back of a powerful bike.
